It was a sunny morning and Hawkeye felt grateful Chris slept peacefully through the night. BJ has been with them for a couple of days now, and Chris woke him up once, by screaming in the middle of the night. It startled the other doctor immensely but he was being a really good sport about it. Hawkeye was very grateful for his new friend, he liked the man, and even Chris started to open up to him. And with Frank being out of the Swamp they had a lot less complaining.

Today Chris slept even longer than Hawkeye, which was a first. Normally the boy was up early and reading or playing when Hawkeye woke up.

Hawkeye watched his son, the boy was playing on the ground but seemed a bit sulky, he was quiet today even for him. But Hawkeye had to admit he and BJ didn't give Chris much room to be noisy or talkative.

The two of them were building a small bar, so they had something to put in the place where Frank's cot used to be. Frank had moved his stuff to the commander's tent, the minute Henry left.

Thinking of Henry, Hawkeye sighed and mentioned that Henry would have loved this bar and that he misses him.

BJ suggests they call it the "Henry Blake Memorial Bar," to which Hawkeye happily agrees.

They raised the bar and moved it to his destination. They even ornamented it with a light string. "Chris, come look at this! Do you think Henry would like it? "

Chris looked up and nodded. He didn't feel okay, he just felt like doing nothing and he was bored at the same time.

"Do you want to help decorate it some more?" Hawkeye tried.

Chris thought about it but shook his head, he didn't feel like decorating. " I'm playing," the child mumbled.

Hawkeye looked at Chris and then to BJ, but BJ just shrugged.

This was a bit strange, Chris always wanted to decorate.

'I need to keep a close watch on him if I want to know what's wrong, he seems so bleak today' Hawkeye thought. He wanted to ask Chris if he was alright but Radar walked in, looking very anxious.

"Sirs?" the clerk started but Hawkeye and BJ pretend Radar is their first customer. But Radar wasn't in the mood for the two joking doctors, as he said he got something important to tell them.

Radar looked around in case someone was near to overhear this, he saw no one except the small boy playing in BJ's corner of the tent.

He gave the boy a quick smile and a wave before turning his attention to the two doctors.

"We're getting a new commander!" the clerk whispered.

"Frank's out?!" Hawkeye loudly asked.

"Shhh... Not that loud!" Radar almost had a heart attack as he nervously tried to explain. Hawkeye simply took the letter from the clerk and read it.

"Colonel Sherman Potter" Hawkeye read out loud.

"Surgeon, medical..." Hawkeye mumbled, reading, "USA! " he added, shocked as he looked at the clerk.

The nervous Radar explained this Colonel is a career man in the Army, and that could mean trouble. "Maybe he's worse than Frank! if that is even possible! " Radar said, with his voice a bit higher than usual.

Hawkeye looked from Radar to BJ as he said "An Army doctor! He'll have people bleeding by the numbers." He sighed, "He's gotta be a loser"

Chris was getting very nervous about this as he made his way over to stand next to his dad. He looked at the man nervously. He didn't want anyone worse than Frank! Frank was mean sometimes, especially towards Radar.

The man mostly ignored Chris, even if the child wanted to play. He had asked Frank once to read comic books with him but the man sneered at him and teased him. Which in turn made Chris very upset, and Radar and his dad had to spend over an hour trying to calm him down.

Hawkeye and BJ, and with a little help from Radar, took their revenge.

Radar was keeping watch as Frank was having his normal latrine break and the two doctors lit the latrine next to him on fire, making the commanding officer run outside with his pants down screaming fire.

"A career man" Hawkeye mumbled once again before he noticed his son. The boy looked tired and now also very scared.

And only then does Hawkeye realize that he was making the child more afraid by being anxious himself about this, he quickly changed tactics. "But on the other hand, maybe he will be a nice guy." He quickly added.

"What! How can an army career guy also be a nice guy? I don't want to know I'm in the army 24-7! Henry made this feel like home, not a warzone!" Radar said as he looked at the two doctors with big pleading eyes.

Hawkeye cleared his throat, getting the late teen's attention on him and he made a motion with his head towards Chris.

Thankfully Radar got the hint after one look at the terrified child and started to be more positive about this, "But maybe I'm wrong! After all, we liked the last new guy!" He said as he looked at BJ with a smile.

Hawkeye saw that Chris relaxed a little more but found that the boy looked too tired, especially as they had just woken up. Maybe Chris was getting sick, he thought as he motioned the child closer. Chris obeyed but seemed a bit hesitant.

He gently held the boy at his shoulders and asked if he was okay.

Chris nodded and told him he was fine.

Hawkeye rested his hand on the boy's forehead for a second but he didn't feel hot or too cold, maybe the child was upset about something? But Chris seemed to like the affection so he couldn't be mad at him.

The boy snuggled close to the man's lower chest. Chris was still so small, barely reaching his chest at all, Hawkeye thought, with fondness.

"How'd he take it? Frank?" Hawkeye asked the clerk, as he put his arm securely around Chris.

"Are you kidding?" Radar said with big shocked eyes "My palms are sweating off. I'm afraid to tell him."

"You'd better show him the orders, Radar," BJ added with a smile.

Radar gave the doctors an indignant look, "He'll hit me."

"Come on," BJ said disbelievingly.

"No! He's been murder on me." The clerk explained.

"Making me shave." He gave the doctors a serious look as he added, "He makes me bathe!"

Hawkeye and BJ looked at each other. "Let's go with him, BJ "

Hawkeye said, to which BJ agreed without hesitation.

"Ohh would you! Really!" Radar said, sounding very relieved with the extra support.

Chris sighed into his dad's upper belly, he felt tired and he didn't know why. He didn't want to go or do anything, but he also felt anxious and bored. He wanted to read his new comic with Radar, but he felt anxious.

He gave Radar his gift the day after they collected BJ. The child cared a lot for Radar and spent almost thirty minutes searching for a comic book Radar would like that was also in English, which was not a lot.

In the places where a lot of soldiers came to visit and relax, people learned what sold and what didn't. America was everywhere around here to make money. Koreans sang American songs to entertain and served American food.

Chris showed Radar the comic book he picked out for the man.

He was a bit nervous as he handed his present over, he spent a long time searching for the one he thought Radar would like.

It's a western comic, the first one of a popular series, and he bought the second one for himself so they could read together.

Radar was over the moon, and they already spent hours reading together.

They made their way over to the mess hall to bring Frank the news as Chris happily told Radar, he read this series once, when a wounded soldier in post-op had this with him, and the man said he could read it.

It was his first western comic, and he found out he liked it a lot. It was a great story so he thought Radar would like it as well.

They talked and Radar almost seemed a bit less worried, but that changed the moment they stepped into the tent and the clerk saw the thin upper lip of a very displeased Frank. Radar almost ran back outside but Chris stood behind him and the clerk almost pushed the child over.

Thankfully Hawkeye stood behind the child and held Chris steady so that Radar could put all his attention on the angry commanding officer heading their way.

"Well, where's the mail? It got here ten minutes ago." The angry Frank Burns snapped at the clerk.

Radar looked like he wanted to flee as fast as he could but managed to say " Um, I've got it, Sir."

Frank put his hands on his hips as he looked at the clerk with distrust. "Well, is there anything for me?"

Um... Radar cleared his throat and said, with a nervous smile, " Um, nothing from Mrs. Burns, sir."

Hawkeye suppressed a chuckle as he saw it made both Frank and Margaret very uncomfortable.

Frank's eyes shoot daggers at the smaller clerk.

"I don't care what I didn't get! What did I get?!" The man barked.

Radar kept avoiding the topic and Frank had finally had enough, he grabbed the letter, but Radar was holding on, the clerk held it tight and finally told the man, "Oh, ahem... You're being replaced, sir."

Frank immediately let go of the paper, as if it had burned him.

Radar slowly moved away a step, just to be on the safe side.

"What?" Frank said shocked as he slowly took the letter from the clerk with more care and opened it.

To everyone's surprise, even Margaret's, Frank didn't explode and he even behaved in a complete decent manner after reading it, he told them this sometimes happens and it was completely normal.

He left with a bewildered Margaret following behind him.

Hawkeye looked confused at the faces of his stunned friends. That was weird and highly out of character for the major.

"That went easy!" Hawkeye said as they made their way over to the food line. Hawkeye noticed Chris didn't seem to have an appetite, as he only took a small amount and kept playing with it more than eating.

The doctor again motions his son closer. The boy stood up from across the table and walked over to stand in front of his dad with puzzling eyes.

"Are you feeling okay? " Hawkeye asked as he felt the boy's face.

Chris looked pale and felt a bit warmer than earlier. The child just shrugged, normally Hawkeye would scold, that a shrug is not an answer, but Chris wasn't feeling well, so he let it go.

The child sighed and leaned into his dad, he felt weird, he was hungry but his stomach got uneasy when he wanted to eat. His head hurt, and it seemed like someone was hammering on it. His muscles felt uneasy and he couldn't concentrate.

He didn't know how to explain all this right now to his dad. Not because of the English, he was great at languages, but it was just a lot to explain.

He just hoped his dad would understand what was wrong. The man always knew everything.

Hawkeye promptly moved over and sat the boy next to him. He told Chris he didn't have to eat right now, if he wasn't feeling good, they would try again later. Chris felt relieved, as he leaned against his dad and just sat there getting some comfort, watching the people around him.

Later back at the Swamp, the two doctors had to destroy their precious Henry memorial bar to make room for the return of Frank Burns.

Chris was still feeling a bit sick, even though he didn't seem to have a fever. He didn't have anything to eat but Hawkeye had managed to get Chris to drink some milk.

Hawkeye told him it was better to stay inside today, but he didn't have to if Chris wanted to stay close to him.

The boy sighed relieved, he wanted to stay close, he felt uneasy, and that in turn made him scared as well. So Chris wanted to stay near his dad, he just wished Radar stayed close as well but the clerk was doing other things and his dad told him, he couldn't ask Radar to stay inside with him all day, the man worked hard and was allowed his own free time.

He didn't like it, but he understood, and he shouldn't complain. His dad let him stay in his PJs today, he just had to promise to wear his sandals outside. So that was nice, the child thought as he looked at Wally, he petted the toy bunny and started talking softly to it.

BJ and Hawkeye had just dropped their hammers as Klinger and Radar walked in carrying Frank's bed into the tent.

As Radar saw the broken bar, took his hat off, and said.

"Aww, gee! It's a shame about the bar." He looked at Hawkeye with sincerity. "I was only there once, but I loved it."

Even the beautiful dress of Klinger with a matching straw hat with flowers didn't improve the child's mood. And the flowers are very pretty, Chris thought.

Hawkeye looked his child over from a distance, the boy was a bit flushed now, so he asked Radar before he left if he wanted to bring some stuff from his doctor's bag. After Hawkeye explained Chris wasn't feeling well Radar immediately agreed and returned in less than a minute, he seemed a bit worried.

Even if Hawkeye kept reassuring him it was not a big deal, Chris lived with them for almost a year now, and he had never really gotten sick before.

Unless you counted that epidemic, which the day after most people got better, affected the boy as well.

Hawkeye opened the bag as he sat down on his cot, Chris was reading on his bed but looked up as he noticed his dad sat down on his cot next to him. His dad gently positioned the sitting child to face him and held a thermometer out. "Open up."

This was embarrassing! Radar was right there! Chris thought.

Chris got an instant frown and didn't seem happy about this at all, they sat silent for a couple of seconds as Chris glared at his dad before Hawkeye said.

"Do I have to make choo-choo noises to get you to open your mouth? Because I will"

Chris blushed and the frown deepened, but he slowly obeyed.

He wasn't a baby! His dad was infuriating him today, but everything was annoying him right now and he didn't want to blame his dad.

But it was difficult keeping his emotions in check. He wanted to rage and cry, but in a subconscious mind, he didn't dare. A deep fear still held him back.

Hawkeye got a huge grin and tried not to laugh as he gently placed the thermometer under the child's tongue. Chris had crossed his arms and was deeply frowning at his dad. He looked adorable like this, very angry but adorable. Hawkeye wished he could take a picture of this.

After a minute he released Chris from his duty as he collected the thermometer.

Chris huffed as he went back to his comic book, letting his dad know he wasn't happy.

And just like Hawkeye reckoned, Chris had a slight fever. It was slightly high and nothing he couldn't handle, It would probably go away within a day or so.

"Okay buddy, I need you to lie down."

Chris looked up and shook his head no. "Dad, I'm fine." He insisted. He was already bored, he didn't want to be bored and stuck in bed the whole day.

Hawkeye frowned at his son. He knew that stubborn little boy well enough by now.

Chris sighed. "I am okay Dad. You don't have to worry." He gave the man his best-begging eyes.

Hawkeye looked at the boy thoughtfully. He was still young, almost eleven. He hadn't hit puberty yet and wasn't showing any signs of it yet either. Hawkeye remembered when he had been that age, and the trouble he'd gotten into.

Hawkeye cleared his throat and pulled his thoughts back to Chris as he said. "I know you say you're fine, Chris," He said, trying to keep his voice firm, "But the thermometer says otherwise, so please lie down, and I don't want to ask you again."

Chris looked at his dad, he didn't want to anger the man.

The boy sighed but nodded as he lay down, pulling the blanket up over himself.

"Good boy," Hawkeye said, his voice softening slightly, "Now go on and get some rest." He gave Chris a gentle kiss on the forehead and smiled as he saw the boy's eyelids already got heavy.

Chris woke up again about an hour later and felt a bit better, he felt like doing something, so that must be a good sign. He asked his dad if he could search out Radar, but the man wanted to take his temperature again.

Hawkeye could've sworn the boy wanted to throw a fit, but Chris did what his dad asked of him.

His temp was the same, but the child desperately wanted to go and Hawkeye knew that with the mood Chris was in, he would probably just sneak out if he was told to stay in bed, which meant he had to get mad again.

So he decided he would be lenient with the boy this time to save them both the trouble.

Chris sighed in relief, he needed to see Radar!

The boy put his sandals on with enthusiasm but did that in a very sluggish way before he headed out.

Hawkeye sighed, he just hoped Chris would come back if he got tired, and otherwise, Radar knew how to keep an eye out for the boy, so Chris was fine.

Chris walked over to the clerk's office, it felt a bit weird walking around outside in his pajamas but he didn't mind, he had his comic book with him and he wanted to ask if Radar wanted to read with him.

When he entered the office he saw a nervous Radar walk out of the commander's office. The clerk stopped when he saw the boy, "Hey, shouldn't you be in bed?" Radar asked

Chris frowned at the clerk as his anger flared, 'Even Radar told him to go to bed! ' He thought. People needed to stop telling him that. The boy huffed and stomped his feet a little on the floor.

Immediately he got scared, he wasn't supposed to stomp his feet, that could anger people! His fear spiked as he remembered people getting very angry for a lot less, but his fear subsided again as he looked at Radar's friendly but slightly confused expression.

Chris felt his heartbeat calm down again as he looked at his friend, he knew Radar! Radar wouldn't be angry, but that new guy, he didn't know, and that scared him.

His little outburst also made him tired again, but he didn't want to leave, he wanted to do something normal! And normal was hanging out with Radar, no matter how tired he got!

The clerk wanted to say something to the boy as the child looked pretty angry right now, but he saw Klinger marching in, wearing a golden ball gown with matching jewelry.

Klinger was ready to introduce himself, this was a new commander and a new chance to get out of this army.

Radar tried to stop the man by standing in front of him, screaming NO Klinger, but the man easily shoved him out of his way and stepped inside.

Chris walked over to make sure his friend was alright, Radar told Chris he was fine but he stopped talking as they heard Klinger introduce himself to the new Colonel. The man was listing all his crazy tendencies one for one.

But Potter is not fooled. He remarks that he's seen every dodge trick in the book, like a soldier who claimed to be a horse, carried a colt in his arms for weeks, and another who claimed to be a flower, who wanted to be watered every morning.

Thus, with a loud angry voice, Potter orders Klinger "out of that frou-frou" and permanently into uniform.

The boy heard the loud stern voice of the new colonel and froze, that sounded very scary, and not nice at all! He looked at Radar who looked back, while he wore the same expression as the boy. Klinger walked back out and said he was finished, he needed to burn his bloomers! Radar's mouth fell open as a devastated Klinger walked away.

The child felt tears prick in his eyes, 'Why did Klinger have to burn his bloomers? He didn't know what bloomers were but it would probably be clothing. Wasn't he allowed to have nice clothes? Are other things also not allowed?' Chris thought and it made him very anxious, as he didn't know how much more would change. His body started to tremble a little.

Radar was called back in and now Chris was alone.

He now had to decide if he would follow the clerk into the office with the strange new man or would he just stay here and wait till Radar comes back.

He needed Radar to be okay, and his friend seemed very nervous, maybe he needed help! With a tired sigh, Chris collected his courage and walked in. He stopped at the doorway as the colonel made eye contact with him, it froze him to the spot. Potter was an older man with gray hair, and he looked friendly as he smiled at the boy. "Ahh, you must be little Christopher, I read your file. It's very nice to meet you"

The man seemed okay, but Chris didn't want to take any risk so he stayed where he was, as it got clear the man expected an answer he quickly nodded. He hoped the man didn't mind him not talking but he just couldn't right now.

"You don't have to be scared, I'm not gonna bite you. You look like a skittish colt!" Potter said. Chris just looked at him with a big scared gaze.

"Don't mind him, sir," Radar said to the colonel, "he's feeling a bit sick today, and he's afraid of strangers, he'll get used to you."

Potter nodded as if he understood. "Feeling a bit under the weather, heh? Well, that happens to the best of us."

As the child didn't respond he moved on to his work and told Radar to call for an officer's meeting.

The clerk left the room and Chris his breath hitched. Now he was alone with the man! His breathing sped up before he turned and fled to where Radar disappeared through.

He quickly stood close to his friend as he wanted to calm down again, his body was still a bit trembling as he held his comic book with shaky hands. But standing near his friend helped.

He wished his dad was here, but he didn't want to go to the Swamp, his dad would not let him leave again if he did, and he didn't want to go to bed!

He was very tired though, and everything hurt, his muscles, head, and stomach. But he refused to go to bed, he wanted to read with Radar desperately.

Hawkeye entered the clerk's office and immediately saw his son, Chris looking very pale and dead tired. He sighed a bit disappointed that his son didn't come back to the swamp to rest. But he also noticed Chris being stressed and upset, but with the new colonel, it seemed logical for Chris that he would be.

He didn't comment on the fact Chris was upset and stressed out. He felt it was better not to put that much attention on that, but he had something to say about the promise the child made and didn't keep.

Hawkeye walked over to the child and put his arm around the boy while with the other he tapped the boy's chin, asking for eye contact.

Chris felt very relieved his dad was here, at the tap he quickly obeyed and Hawkeye said.

" Didn't we agree to you coming home if you got tired?"

The boy's eyes got big as he looked at his dad with worry, he forgot about that. He whispered, "Yes sir" hoping his dad wasn't mad, and him being polite couldn't hurt if the man was.

But his dad's kind eyes shone and he smiled as he said.

"Uhuh, yes you did, and you didn't keep your promise. So after this meeting, you're going to bed, Mister. And without any complaints!"

Chris nodded, he didn't want to go to bed, but he was very grateful that his dad wasn't mad at him, and he intended to keep it that way.

But when Hawkeye held his hand on the boy's forehead he couldn't help himself as he gave the man a deep frown. His dad didn't seem to mind as humor shone in his eyes.

He still felt hot, Hawkeye noted, as he looked amused at his son.

They walked into the office and waited for the colonel to start, Potter looked around the room before his eyes landed on Chris, the child looked like it could fall asleep any minute.

The Colonel reviews Father Mulcahy and Margaret first and compliments them on their spotless records.

He moved over to Hawkeye's file, before he opened it, he looked at the man and said.

"Regarding Christopher", he looked at the boy briefly, as the scared child looked back with big eyes.

"I will keep it simple, I read his file. And I will not and cannot interfere with how you raise your son. It even says so here, but I do expect, however, him to be respectful and to behave, if he doesn't, I will hold you as the father responsible. And of course, do I offer help if you need it."

Hawkeye felt relieved, he hated people looking into his son's file, but he couldn't avoid this, enlisted personnel weren't allowed to see it, not even captains can see it, but the commanding officer must read it to know what they are dealing with.

The colonel isn't even allowed to interfere, as Chris wasn't army personnel and is a bit of a unique case.

But he was glad the colonel said he wouldn't. There are a lot of colonels claiming they can do anything, just because they were in charge of the unit. Now he will just have to find out if this man keeps his word.

"That being said, can I ask why the child isn't in bed? He looks dead tired. " Potter said

Chris couldn't believe it, even the new man told his dad to put him to bed, it took so long to convince his dad to agree to let him stay up! Anger coursed through Chris like fire, his fists clenched at his sides as he glared at Potter. He was angry! Angry at the world, angry at himself, angry at this dad. The anger made his skin tingle, the heat rising to his cheeks as he huffed and stomped his foot on the floor.

He didn't stomp very hard, as the boy was very tired, but it was something new for Chris, so people were a bit stunned.

Silence filled the room for a second before Chris realized what he did, the moment he did, fear filled his body. He let out a weird squeaky sob as tears immediately filled his eyes. He stood frozen on the spot and all he could do was stare wide-eyed at Potter. What was the man going to do now? he didn't know this man, this man could hurt him!

"Chris...?" His dad said softly, his voice full of concern as he put a protective arm around the child. "It's okay, Kiddo" he reassured him softly rubbing his back soothingly.

Chris felt hot tears stream down his face, silently begging for it to stop. A sob caught in his throat.

Hawkeye turned Chris to face him and put his arm around him, he just let the boy cry it out. He was a bit surprised by that stomp as well, he knew Chris was feeling safe so he could show his objection and this was a good thing, but he hoped the boy didn't freak out every time he got a bit of a tantrum.

Chris was so tired he almost fell asleep right there, Hawkeye felt his boy's head and noticed he was running higher.

He told the colonel he would put Chris to bed after this, so he could continue. Potter looked a bit confused about the extreme reaction of the boy, "Was it something I said?"

"Ohh, he's fine, his little outburst startled him a little," Hawkeye explained.

The colonel didn't seem convinced but he didn't commend it.

He just opened Hawkeye's file and made a disappointing sound after he read it. He told the man he and Hunnicut were reprimanded by major Burns for setting the latrine on fire.

"That was an accident," Hawkeye said.

"We were having a weenie roast," BJ added

"In the latrine?" Potter asked, looking skeptical at the two.

"We're not allowed to cook in our tent, sir," BJ said, looking back with an innocent expression.

The man read on and asked Hawkeye about the time he had a live chicken flown over, claiming it was a patient.

Hawkeye shrugged and said that it was a rare bird who could tap dance.

The colonel looked at him and said, "I gather you drink?"

"Only to excess," Hawkeye said.

Potter looked at him before he stood up, and straightened his back, he then announced that he doesn't need colorful officers, and everyone is to be on their best behavior! He then dismisses them.

Right now, Hawkeye just wanted Chris into bed.

The young sick boy slept almost instantly as his head hit the pillow. His eyes were already closed as Hawkeye gently stroked his cheek.

"Sleep tight." He whispered as Chris's breathing evened out.

Hawkeye mentally scolded himself, he should have put him to bed earlier. But his kid was so stubborn and he thought it would be okay.

Hawkeye and BJ are having a drink as they are hoping Potter does not take away their still when Klinger enters complaining of a rash from his uniform touching his skin. The doctors quickly deduce the rash is psychosomatic, and to Klinger's relief, Hawkeye tells Klinger to wear a slip under his uniform.

They sat for a while as the intercom flared to life, explaining new wounded had arrived.

The doctors scurried to make themselves ready for triage. Hawkeye debated mentally to let the boy sleep but decided against it. If Chris would wake up alone, he could lose his lid! He would have a panic attack or he would go out of bed to search for him.

Hawkeye carefully woke up Chris and told him they are needed in the O.R.

Chris tried to get up but his dad gently pushed him back down.

"Ohh no, you stay here and sleep." The doctor said earning himself a frown from the child. The doctor saw that Chris wanted to object but the boy was so tired that he fell back asleep before he could, the frown still present on his small face.

The wounded arrive, and as the captains scrub, Radar fills them in on Potter's background: most of his latest duties have been in administration, and it has been two years since he last performed the surgery. Hawkeye has Margaret keep an eye on the Colonel.

Potter soon proves his worth when he helps BJ through a tricky operation. Afterward, when B.J. compliments his work, Potter points out that B.J. did the rough part, and is pleased to know that even after two years behind a desk, he hasn't lost his surgical touch.

BJ mentions the time is 03:30, and Potter mentions that he could use a stiff drink. Hearing this, Hawkeye and BJ seize on the opportunity.

As they walked into the Swamp, Hawkeye was pleased his son stayed in bed, Chris seemed awake and sitting up reading. He looked a bit guilty as he should be sleeping, but his dad explained that he slept a lot already, so it was okay for this time. He even told Chris he could get up for a while. He first felt the boy's forehead, he felt better now but still a bit warm, he debated mentally on wanting to take his temperature again but Potter distracted them by being impressed with the still while he offered advice on how to get a better yield.

Chris quickly got up, he wanted to serve the drinks, but his dad beat him to it. So he sat next to his dad, casting glances at the colonel. He still felt uneasy, but his dad was here, so it would be alright.

Soon the adults are drunk, loudly singing war songs.

Potter tells about a still he built in Guam during WWII; one night the still exploded, and Potter was awarded a Purple Heart.

Hawkeye and BJ both laugh at the story, but Potter begs them to keep it to themselves. Hawkeye then initiates a discussion with Potter about Klinger.

The next day Chris seemed a bit better, he still had a slight fever but he was a little hungry again. They were little and went over to Potter's office, the man was showing them pictures of horses he once owned. Chris seemed more at ease with the man, yesterday night probably helped with that. The child even asked a question about the horses as he mentioned his new western comic book, and he wanted to know how fast they could go. Potter seemed thrilled to explain, and Chris listened attentively.

Radar announces Frank to the Colonel, who takes notice of the nasty bruise above Frank's left eye. Frank states that Potter can count on him as second-in-command to maintain the camp's military discipline and efficiency, which he takes credit for.

Then, Klinger enters Potter's office with his bridle. Potter compliments Klinger on his outfit; he was wearing a white dress and matching hat from the Shirley Temple collection.

A pleasantly surprised Klinger thanks him and leaves, leaving Frank quietly dumbfounded as Hawkeye and BJ start snickering.
