Gloria

Gloria closed her eyes as she tried to ignore the people around her, the train ride was different from the one she was used to.

Granted that she normally drove to work but when she had to go to places that she hadn't been to or parking was too expensive she would either use the bus or the train like today.

Her conversation with David forced her to think about things and reflect on a lot of the things she has done until now, she dreamed that her son managed to make it to the top of Arasaka tower and be the one in charge.

And even if it hadn't been his dream David was more than happy to do it for her, but when she had gone missing he was forced to deal with both the Corpo kids and the world around him.

It was probably the first time that he had made an important decision and even if she didn't agree with the choice he made, she knew that there was almost no way for him to ever go back.

The sandevistan was something that would drive anyone insane, it did things to people's minds and affected them in ways that she had seen other cyber wear do to people.

She had asked David how many times he had used it and she was horrified and at the same time relieved when she heard that he had used it repeatedly.

"Seven or eight times." he said to her, her son should have cyber psycho by now and yet he hadn't, which meant that he had an unusually high resistance to cyber wear.

She opened her eyes and watched as another ship flew into the sky towards the moon, she wished that she could go on it and start a new life, but it was too expensive for someone like her to dream of.

The train finally stops and as usual, when someone comes to an area like this one, she is the only one getting off the train.

She doesn't like the fact that she has to come here, but she knows that if she is going to have any chance at making a living anymore, she is going to need their help.

Her mind drifts to the events that happened yesterday, and she had to admit that she was surprised by how resourceful her new team was.

In a few minutes, she found herself making more money than she ever did during her years in her job.

She watched as kids walked past her and she kept a close eye on anyone that looked her way for longer than they should, her jacket was the only thing that told the people around her that she shouldn't be touched.

Yet it was up to them to decide if they were willing to leave her alone.

After a few minutes of walking, she arrived at her destination, it was a concrete building that stood between Little China and Downtown, she knocked on the door and waited for someone to open it.

A man that had covered his body with armor opened the door before scanning her and letting her inside, as she walked in she found herself having to cover her mouth and nose from the smell of alcohol and disinfectant that lingered in the air.

The hospital she was in was the new version of the Crisis Medical Center, it was almost as expensive as Night City Medical Center, but it was at the very least affordable for the common person that had some money put away for emergencies.

"So why are you here?" the receptionist said to her as she walked up to the window.

On the window appeared several different options one asked if she was there to visit someone that was recovering, another asked if she was there to make an appointment and the last one asked if she was there to buy what she needed.

She chose the last option and watched as the receptionist pointed at the door next to her.

Unlike Night City Medical, Crisis Medical was made up of mostly war veterans, and as such, every doctor and nurse was capable of defending themselves and the hospital.

At the end of the hallway, she found a man standing at a door holding a thick doctor's bag, she didn't get a chance to say anything when the man handed her the bag and told her to pay.

She tried to open the bag, but she stopped when she saw him reaching for his gun.

Her heart began to beat faster as her fear began to grow but her training took over and so she paid for the medical supplies, the man immediately smiled before telling her to leave.

As she walked back to the entrance she opened the bag and found that all of the tools she had bought were outdated, meaning that while they were clean and well-maintained they were things that people didn't use anymore.

Still, they were things that she had been taught how to use in an emergency and while she did have some tools at home she wondered if she could be of any help to her team during an emergency.

With no other reason to be in this part of the city, she began to walk back to the train station, and so she began to listen to her messages.

The first one was from Kazuma telling her that they would be repairing the factory, and the next one was from Sasha telling her that they had just been attacked and warned her to be careful.

She didn't have to wait for the train to arrive and as the wind blew and made her hair hit her face she was forced to accept that this was just another day at the office and nothing had changed.

While she worked as an EMT she was forced to enter dangerous places, and now was no different, the only difference was that she didn't have any insurance to keep her alive if she suddenly got hurt.

she couldn't help but smirk and laugh at the thought, the insurance that she had bought her self and David, was probably what saved David, but it had been useless for her.

So she didn't know if she had wasted her money paying for it.
