Jack opened the door and saw Lisa laying under the sheet, she looked beautiful to him as always. He set his bag down and gently sat on the bed next to her, brushing a stray piece of hair back "Lis." Lisa thought she was dreaming, hearing Jack calling her until she opened her eyes and saw him sitting there, she sat up more against the pillows "Hey, there." She had a confused look "Jack…wha…what are you doing here?" she asked as he took her hand. "Well, I was missing you, Tim told me everything was handled and didn't understand why I didn't come with you, so here I am." He squeezed her hand and leaned in to softly kiss her "and I hear you're feeling a little under the weather" looking at her worried. She sighed "Yeah, I hate that Katie had to see me like this." He shifted closer and reached for her to pull her in closer holding her "Lis, Katie loves you. Don't worry about it, now tell me what's going on." She sat back and filled him in on the events of the last few weeks but it was worse the past few days, when she was finished, he spoke. "Lisa, if you're not feeling better in the morning you're calling the doctor. I also brought you the medicine you had last time." Lisa looked up "How'd you know to bring this?" as she took the bottle "Katie called you?" He nodded, "now Lisa, don't be upset. I'm the only one she's told." Lisa sighed "I'm not, I hate that you both are worried, but I am glad to see you" as she smiled at him. He leaned in and kissed her softly "I'm glad I'm here too. I'm going to go check on Katie." She pushed the covers back "I'll come with you, I've been in here all day." She walked with him out to the living room where Katie was, she heard them coming. Lisa sat down next to her "Thank you. I didn't mean to worry you" she told her, giving her a hug. Katie looked worried "so you're not mad I told GG?" she asked, Lisa shook her head no. Jack slipped in behind her and had his hands resting on her shoulders "No, never I'm glad he's here." Katie let out the breath she was holding as Jack spoke up. "I'm glad you called, honey. I was thinking about surprising Lisa when you called, because Tim and I had talked about me not joining you both and he said he had everything handled if I wanted to come." Katie smiled at them both. Lisa started to feel better that evening. They all retired early for the evening. Lisa curled up on Jack's side as she often did "I love you, cowboy. I'm really glad you're here" before leaning up to kiss him. He wrapped his arms around her even tighter "me too, Lis. I love you." They settled in for the night.

The next day, Lisa woke up and saw Jack reading a fishing magazine. He took his glasses off as he felt her stirring next to him "morning" she said sleepily. He set his magazine aside and wrapped his other arm around her "Morning, are you feeling ok? You hardly moved all night." She adjusted the pillows to sit up some "I feel much better, thank goodness. I still can't believe you came." He leaned down "Good, I wish you would've told me. I could tell you were downplaying something, I just didn't know what" he said as he kissed her head. She held his hand "I thought it would pass like it normally does, no big deal. I just hate that I worried Katie, I don't want Lou to get all funny about it and stop her from coming again." Jack squeezed her hand "You don't have to worry with that, Katie said she wasn't going to say anything. We talked about it. How about I go make breakfast?" She leaned up and kissed him, "Alright, I'll be there to help you shortly." They both moved to get out of bed and dressed. Jack went to the kitchen, he heard Katie in her room so he guessed she'd be out soon also. He was standing at the stove when Lisa came in and started the coffee maker. She wrapped her arms around his, leaning into his side "Will you come with us today? I have to go to the track and then to look at a horse" she asked looking up at him, hoping he'd agree. He moved to wrap his arms around her holding her to him "Yes, I came to spend time with you after all" smiling down at her before kissing her. She moved to wrap her arms around his neck, kissing him with more intensity, catching him off guard. Katie had come out of her room and was walking into the kitchen when she saw them, she started to turn back when Jack caught sight of her and broke their kiss taking a step back, as the bacon sizzled and coffee pot beeped. Lisa turned and saw her, blushing some "Good morning honey. Breakfast is almost ready. Jack saw her blushing, he wrapped his arm around her and whispered "It only makes you more beautiful" . She lightly slapped his arm and told him to behave, as she filled their coffee cups. "I didn't mean to interrupt," Katie said as they all sat down for breakfast. Jack spoke first "You didn't. So Lis, what's this horse you want to go look at?" Lisa filled him in on the horse and plans for the day.

At the track, Lisa watched her two horses practice runs that went really well, she went to talk to her trainers, leaving Katie and Jack for a minute. Katie saw him watching Lisa, "She's happy you're here.." Jack glanced at Katie "What makes you say that?" he asked "Anytime you're mentioned or she talks to you, she gets a smile on her face. Why don't you come with her more often?" she inquired. Jack took a minute "Well honey, I really am not keen on the jet set lifestyle Lisa loves. I've traveled more in recent years though but there's no place like being home at Heartland." Lisa was headed their way, "you both ready?" she asked as they stood up "Where are we headed now?" he asked. "Well I was thinking about lunch and stopping by the Fairfield office here, I have some paperwork I need to pick up." The three of them headed to lunch and to Lisa's office to get her paperwork. Katie mentioned to Jack it looks a lot like the one in Hudson. "Sure does, Lisa likes consistency and organization" looking around, she had her desk decorated similar to the one in Hudson, pictures of the family and them. Lisa came back shortly, collected the necessary paperwork, she could finish at home later. They decided to take Katie sightseeing for the afternoon.

The next couple of days, Lisa had to work so while she was attending meetings and meeting with clients, Jack stayed close to home and Katie worked on some more articles Lisa asked her to work on. One afternoon, Lisa came in and saw Katie working on her laptop at the table "Hi" as she set her purse down. "Hi, I'm almost done with this one." Lisa looked over her shoulder and read it "You're doing a fantastic job. I can't thank you enough." Katie looked up at Lisa "I like doing it" before turning back to her laptop "Where is Jack?" Lisa asked. "He was out on the patio." Lisa headed to the patio, she saw him sitting on the swing reading a magazine. She walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around him "Hi, cowboy" kissing his cheek. He smiled as she came around "Hi". She sat next to him as he wrapped his arm around her "You done for the day?" he asked. She nodded "I am." He kissed her cheek, "Good, did Katie bring a nice dress with her?" Lisa looked at him curiously "Not sure, why?" He smirked "Well I was thinking I would take you both to a nice dinner, you get to pick." Lisa smiled, "Well that sounds lovely." He stood up and pulled her to him "How about you make us a reservation and then take Katie shopping?" She leaned up and kissed him softly "okay, we will be back." He smiled as he watched her head into the house and get Katie "Katie, you up for some shopping?" Katie closed her laptop "sure" as Lisa picked up her phone to make their reservations. When she hung up, she grabbed her purse "Jack is taking us to dinner, which means we get to go shopping." Katie followed her out the door. Lisa loved shopping and spoiling Katie, so they didn't just buy one dress for the dinner. They had several bags when they came in. Jack met them at the door "What is all of this? I thought you were after a dress?" Lisa laughed "we just did a little shopping." His eyes got wide "looks more than a little." Katie took her bags to her room as Lisa set her bags down. "She couldn't choose which dress, so we got both and a few other things." He wrapped his arms around her "and what about you?" She leaned into his hug "I may have gotten a couple things, I got you a new shirt for tonight too." He sighed "ah Lisa, I brought my good suit." She pulled back "and you know how handsome I think you are in your suit. It's just a new shirt" she stated, looking slightly disappointed. He gave in, "Alright for you." He kissed her quickly "Now why don't you go get ready." She left his arms and headed towards the bedroom. She was in her robe, fixing her hair when Jack came in. She saw him approaching in the mirror and smiled. He stopped behind her and leaned down and kissed her neck, causing her to squirm "Jack" he kissed her again and led her to the bench she had at the end of the bed, pulling her down to sit across him. He leaned in and kissed her again. "Jack" she said between kisses "Hmm". She pulled back and held his face in her hands smiling "You're distracting me, cowboy." He smiled "am I? He asked and tried to kiss her again "later, cowboy. Katie's going to be waiting on us." She kissed him quickly "Not that I minded" before standing up to finish getting ready. Jack came out a few minutes later and she walked up to him wrapping her arms around him and kissed him "Now, who is teasing" he asked. She flashed the smile making him weak at the knees before heading out of their room, he shook his head and followed her. Katie was waiting on them. "I'm lucky enough to get to escort the two most beautiful ladies to dinner" as he held the door for them both.

The restaurant was quite fancy, probably the fanciest that Katie had ever experienced. They had an enjoyable meal, despite Jack still thinking the portions were too small and overpriced. While he didn't enjoy these fancy meals out, it was something Lisa enjoyed every now and then he would make the sacrifice. It was also nice to share it with Katie. They were soon done and Jack paid the bill before wrapping an arm around Lisa as they exited to return home. Katie wanted to FaceTime Parker and Georgie so she retreated to her room for the evening. "How about we get changed and enjoy a glass of wine?" Jack asked Lisa. She readily agreed and they were soon on the couch, Lisa comfortably resting against him. "Thank you for the special dinner, I certainly wasn't expecting you to suggest it." Jack kissed the side of her head "Your welcome, I know I'm stubborn and hardheaded but it's nice for us to do something special like that every now and then. You've been working hard, Lis." After some time, she sat up and put their empty glasses on the table, turning to him. She leaned in and kissed him and maneuvering herself to be aligned with him on the couch. He pulled back in between kisses "Lis, let's go to our bedroom. Katie may come out." She kissed him again "alright" before standing up. "I'll be right there" he told her. He put their glasses up before retiring for the night. Lisa was coming out of the bathroom when he walked in, she smiled at him. "Have I told you how beautiful you are?" he asked. She had her shy smirk as he wrapped his arms around her "Lis, I'm serious. You are more beautiful today than the day I first laid eyes on you at the bbq" before kissing her. She broke their kiss "You're flattering me cowboy." She led him towards their bed "shall we continue?" He kissed her again, and they were soon making the most of their romantic evening.

The next morning Jack woke up and saw they were both tangled in the sheets just as they had fallen asleep. He looked at the clock, seeing it was just after 7, surprised that he slept later than normal. She had her head resting on his shoulder, he kissed the top of her head before gently extracting himself from her arms. He got dressed and made his way to the kitchen, surprised to see Katie up already. "Morning GG" she said as he entered. "Coffee is made for you and Lisa and breakfast will be ready soon." He was surprised she had done all of this "Morning honey, you've been busy" as he reached for a cup to pour some coffee. "I'll go check on Lisa and let her know" taking his coffee cup with him. He entered their room, Lisa had only shifted more into his pillow. He leaned over her and kissed her gently bringing a smile to her face "Lis, Katie's got breakfast about done." She lazily opened her eyes and stretched "mmm, what time is it?" He chuckled "after 7" as he sat down, her eyes opened more and she sat up. "How long have you been up?" she asked. "Not too long, I went to start coffee and breakfast but Katie beat me to it." She leaned in and kissed him "Thank you for last night, you always know what I need." He returned her kiss "Lis, our love only grows stronger as the years go by. I wouldn't change anything. I told Katie I'd let you know breakfast is about done." before standing up. She pushed the covers back "I'll be right there." He walked back out "Lisa's coming." Katie had set the table and was setting a cup of coffee for Lisa down when she emerged. "Morning Lisa." Lisa returned the greeting "What is all of this?" as she sat down. "Breakfast, it's the least I can do. You and GG have been spoiling me this week." Lisa smiled at Jack as he returned it "Honey, I'm glad you came with me, I've enjoyed the company. I hope it's not the last time you'll join me." Katie smiled "I'd love to come again" as they all ate breakfast. "So what is on the agenda for our last day?" Jack asked Lisa. "I need to go to the track to finalize some arrangements on a couple horses, go see a client about a horse, and then whatever both of you want to do. Our flight is early tomorrow." He nodded "You're the boss" causing her to chuckle as they started to clean up the table.
