I'm back with an update before Christmas, waheeey!
Finally Kiku and Arthur have the sexy times, lots of fluffy goodness. China, America, France and Scotland give their approval to the relationship
Kiku and Arthur reflecting on their feelings for each other
Arthur stirred disorientated, his gaze slowly adapting from the blackness of sleep to the dulled light of the night. Confusion filling his mind as he recollected on the past events before adapting to his surroundings, recognising their shared bedroom. The moon illuminating Japan's garden with its silvery light, like something magical from a fairy tale. Being pulled from the comfort of sleep by some unknown force, dragging him back to reality in an incoherent sleep haze. Wondering if he was uncomfortable in some way, his lashes tickling his cheeks, rubbing his eyes curiously, wondering what could have woken him. A sense of frustration and exhausted starting to kick in as he attempted to control his mood. Sighing heavily, wondering if natures call had woken him, though he felt no pressure on his bladder that would cause him to awake from such deep slumber. As he opened his lips, a cloud of steam escaped his mouth surprising him, condensation caused by different temperatures, the amazement of science. Remembering how when he was a child he pretended to be a dragon like one of his brother Wales familiars. Imagining he could breathe fire, though it only led to him being teased for his fantasies. His green eyes snapping open with a childlike curiosity, suddenly intrigued by what was going on, no longer bothered by sleep, adrenaline giving him a newfound energy and enthusiasm. He peered around the bedroom curiously, trying to figure out his surroundings as to acknowledge what was happening.
Kiku lay beside him, curled into the fetal position as he slept comfortably. A sleepy smile formed on his lips as he was lost to dreams, looking cuter than Arthur could bear, reminding him of his devotion to the asian nation. Of the first time they met and rebelling against their bosses wishes to become allies and later lovers. Wrapped comfortably in the extra futon they had brought in case of the cold, the heaters on too, belting the house with a wall of heat. Shielding them from the cold of winter, the winter winds remaining outside within its natural element. Arthur rolled onto his side, resting his arm under his head for support, remaining in a state of tranquility. Slowly piecing together what his vision was allowing him to observe through his sleep induced haze. Upon closer inspection, he was filled with innocent delight, one he hadn't felt since he was a boy, reminding him of his childhood before his maturity into an older nation. The garden was blanketed in a layer of white, large chunks of frozen snow falling from the sky and littering the ground. Resembling the familiarity of a christmas card, the christmas image that had been burned into the minds of children and adults for centuries. It had been so long since he had seen snow, over the centuries the snow had become a rarity around this time of year. The changing evolution of the climate making winter snow a rarity depending on the country. Yet generations of people still found the snow to be so hypnotically beautiful, a symbol of the festive season, taking pictures to remember the precious moment. His silent reflection was broken by the familiar voice of his lover. "A….Arthur-san?" Kiku trailed off sleepily, he had felt Arthur stirring, sensing his movement in the bed and wondering what could be bothering him, they carried such a verbal relationship of communication and trust that he couldn't help but want to comfort his partner of possible troubles. He could sense something was lingering on his mind and he knew that often sharing your troubles with someone else brought relief to those whom were suffering in silence. It still felt so special, having Arthur here with him during the festive season instead of spending it alone like he traditionally had. The distance that they usually endured in their relationship had been shortened, bringing them closer together and allowing them to bond. This felt like the happiest moment of his life, being able to wake up and know he wasn't dreaming. That Arthur wouldn't vanish from his sight if he closed his eyes, reality was clear and he was indeed here. He could indulge in his selfishness as they spoiled each other during the festive season. They could live in the moment, blissfully spending down their hours in love and sharing their mutual affections, to be with his stubborn, awkward and yet charming boyfriend.
"Yes, love?" Arthur yawned, he had nearly forgotten his exhaustion, a calmness filling him, deterring him from returning to sleep. But being able to gaze into his boyfriend's eyes and feel a sense of comfort was everything he needed. Knowing that when he was around Kiku everything made sense to him, acting as his support beam. He may have been restless, but sharing some sleepy tender pillow talk with Kiku would be nice. Allowing him to vent the swirling mass of thoughts rushing through his mind a mile a minute.
Kiku blushed, admiring Arthur's face in the silvery light of the reflected snow and moonlight. He looked angelic, like an ethereal being that had appeared before him to grant his wish. His mind filled with excitement as he gazed upon his boyfriends face, being reminded of how lucky he was. He had spent so much time alone, that when he finally met someone he felt comfortable around, someone who understood him, with whom he shared interests, he was so happy. Realising that all his life he had been waiting for Arthur, unable to form coherent words to express his feelings. He now understood why people became anxious when confessing, speaking your mind honestly towards someone you loved was scary. "I… I'm happy, to be able to share this Christmas with you, to share our cultures, these memories…. As lovers…" he trailed off.
Arthur blushed, his cheeks matching the crimson bedding Japan had used to be festive. Spilling their feelings honestly with each other despite their hesitation around the subject matter. Their mutual awkwardness acting as a comfort. He felt the same way, though the journey was stressful, exhausting and difficult. Annoying passengers, plane food that varied between decent and disgusting, having to remain sat on his arse for hours on end. He didn't regret his decision to make the trip to Japan's nation to see his boyfriend. Knowing the road here had led him to being able to gaze at Japan like this, cuddling under a futon and sharing the Christmas spirit. "Me too love, I will treasure this festive season for centuries to come" he whispered softly.
Kiku shifted closer to England, closing the gap between them, sensing Arthur's heart flutter in his chest. Wrapping his arms around his boyfriend tenderly, he needed Arthur to know how much he meant to him, how much he wished to show that love. How far he would go for him, to do whatever it took to keep him smiling, "I love you Arthur-san" he replied sleepily. The warmth of his body beside him, the scent of his skin, all of it accumulating into a familiar imprint in his memory.
Arthur's cheeks darkened, but a fond smile appeared on his lips, the loneliness he had felt as a child had been replaced by this warm feeling. To feel so loved by one person, even if many enjoyed teasing him, that was enough for him. Though he had many friends and companions, Kiku was special to him for a different reason. For he was the person who carried his heart, reaching out to wrap his arms around Kiku in return. "I love you too Kiku, sweet dreams…" he whispered, the two lay in the moonlight, cuddling each other affectionately as the snow fell outside. Though the night was chilly, a new frozen world blanketing the ground, they were warm and happy under the futon.
England was happier than words could describe, his skin was singing, his heart was hammering, he couldn't stop trembling. For crying out loud he wasn't a virgin, but it had been a long time since he shared a bed with another person. After centuries of heartache, being isolated and cutting himself off from others was easier. But now he was able to emotionally connect with another person again, his trust reignited because of someone else. But he was excited, nervous and eager all at the same time, a million feelings rushing through him. After years of shared affection, cuddling, tender kisses and emotional support, glances of love and butterflies in the stomach, he was finally making love with his boyfriend for the first time. Under the most perfectly romantic setting, at Christmas, while the snow fell outside, something that most couples dreamed and planned towards while for him it was all by chance. Luck was truly in his favour and he couldn't be more thankful for this moment going so smoothly, that this memorable moment would one of pure joy. Two hearts connected, their feelings combined and communicating on a mental level. He had been loaned a kimono from Japan, easier to sleep in and more comfortable, it was similar to a dressing gown from his country, only more intricate and historic. Though this was a sleeping robe and not one used for performing or festivals, it still carried value. Kiku having opened his robe to reveal his pale slightly toned body, stroking his skin with a look of adoration. Worshipping Arthur's body as though he was a work of art, one of his many sculptures that he kept secret but cared for immensely. Taking in every inch of his skin, preparing himself to enjoy a delicious meal.
Japan leaned forward slowly, capturing Arthur's lips in a tender kiss, Arthur happily returning the gesture. Watching the reactions of his partner to see what he was comfortable with. Doing what came naturally between two people whom shared romantic feelings and sexual attraction. Arthur flinched briefly in surprise, his whole body sensitive from nerves, before wrapping his arms around his lover's neck, deepening the kiss and venting his restrained passions into the gesture. How much he loved Kiku, how much he wanted him to know how appreciated he was. How much this moment meant to him. Gazing into those dark chocolatey orbs brought him so much comfort, how beautiful they were up close. Japan didn't protest or appear surprised, instead, he smiled into the kiss, relieved that England was enjoying himself. Roaming his hands further along Arthur's body, closing the gap between them to press against him. How he stood out like a single blooming rose in a garden, proud and defined, but yearned for people to admire him from more than a distance. Beckoning people to the garden to admire him, but always trampled on or forgotten. Underestimated by those around him, but Japan had found him, appreciating him alone. He was nervous, Japan was nervous, their senses heightened but this felt so right, this was always predicted to happen eventually and there was no shame in this. Their hearts were connected, devoted to one another.
Japan shyly pulled away, his cheeks flushed, his eyes hazy and yet filled with a silent passion. He knew this would be an embarrassing question to ask but to speak of your discomforts and concerns before coitus was an important factor. Meaning no unpleasant surprises could follow in the aftermath. Biting his lip, fighting the urge to tease England as to not make him uncomfortable. He knew everyone teased the person they liked for the adorable reaction afterwards was always worth it, watching them respond to you alone. "Arthur-san… I… would you mind if I…. can you bottom?" he blurted abruptly, his tone impatient yet hungry. Despite his personality of being a softer spoken person, he was by no means despite people's assumptions as passive in bed as people believed. He simply respected boundaries and communicated with his partner clearly. He simply didn't meet the stereotypical masculine tropes that America enjoyed enforcing onto himself. He didn't mind being the bottoming for Arthur if he so desired, but he hoped to admire England beneath him, watching his every sweet reaction. Watching England gasp, cry and moan at every movement and every touch, begging him for more.
England blushed, stunned at the boldness yet shy nature of Kiku, there was more to him than met the eye. People often underestimated his ability to seduce others, including himself. His charming yet polite nature often swayed others, giving him a princely aura. He nodded bashfully, taken aback that this was happening "I… yes.. just…be gentle pet…" he mumbled. He knew this would be uncomfortable at first and hurting someone during coitus wouldn't be pleasant for either party. While he wasn't against casual sex, since becoming involved with Kiku he had truly become happy. They continued to put the consideration of the others feelings above their own, filling the empty void in their lives which had previously been plaguing their lives. Sex had never been as important, their emotional bond and comfort fulfilling them both, but giving into their desires wasn't a negative thing. Japan nodded, continuing the kiss as he began to prepare England for what was to come.
England squirmed with exhilaration, biting his lip as he restrained moans that escaped his lips, his body betraying his true feelings. Worried that his infamous title of perverted ambassador may lead Japan to teasing him. He wasn't naive to how many nations teased him behind his back about his past endeavors. His breathed ragged, pleasure running through his body in waves, Kiku's fingers entering his body, brushing against his spot. His body jolting as he bucked his hips, how long he had wondered how this would feel with Japan, many fantasies having danced through his mind on numerous occasions. Before they had confessed their mutual feelings for each other, he had always had perverse imaginations for Japan. Attempting to make sure his expression didn't mirror the thoughts going on in his mind. But now he didn't have to worry about holding back a second longer. The look of lust in Japan's eyes as he fingered him, watching his every gesture, every response hungrily. Kiku slowly removed his fingers, he had stretched him as much as he deemed possible, making sure he would fit and England was fully prepared. Thankfully his nation had enough literature to help educate himself on intercourse between two men. So at least had some kind of idea as of how to approach this properly. England had visibly relaxed, he looked comfortable, if not eager for him, giving him hope that he wouldn't make any mistakes before they had even begun. He placed his hands on Arthur's knees in preparation, watching him silently, entering his personal space and taking in every inch of him. England shifted, watching Japan through a clouded gaze of desire and nervousness, breathing calmly as to make sure he wouldn't clench or cause himself too much pain due to panicking. Nerves didn't help in matters such as this, simply trying to breathe and relax, anxiety causing him to overthink. "Are you ready Arthur-san?" Japan asked calmly, if he wanted to stop he would happily accept his wishes and simply continue kissing or other things. He didn't want him to feel pressured into doing something he didn't feel comfortable.
Arthur nodded impatiently, his cheeks flushed "Y…yes… please love…." He stammered. If he had to wait a second longer he felt he may go insane, his body crying out for his lovers touch. He was prepared to beg or even take matters into his own hands if it meant he could finally become one with Kiku at last. The waiting was making him impatient for more.
Kiku took a deep breath, there was no going back now and the longer her looked at England the more he wanted him. He would do all he could to soothe him and alleviate any pain or discomfort he would experience. Slowly pushing himself into England, wincing as he felt England tighten as he entered him, as many imaginations he had experienced nothing compared to the real feeling of England's body. His soft, slightly skinny but toned body underneath him, the scent of roses and tea wafting up his nose. He was so warm, so soft and so wet, a small cavern that would bring England so much enjoyment. He didn't want to hurt him, he wanted this to be pleasurable for him, but from what he could tell of reading England's expressions, he was so far doing a good job. England whined at the gesture, throwing his head back and sighing pleasantly, Japan felt the blood rush lower, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment and awe of the show England was putting on for him. Japan was bigger than he thought, but he felt so good, filling him up so well, easing himself in rather than simply pushing in at once which would have caused him pain. He was a perfect size, not causing him too much pain, too much discomfort. "Gomen Arthur-san… am I… are you uncomfortable?" Kiku stammered breathlessly. He had never imagined he could feel this good with England, their bodies so compatible and the feeling of coitus being so amazing. England's flushed cheeks reminded him of roses, his lust filled teary eyes making him look painfully cute.
England bit his lip, wincing and enjoying the feeling, he'd forgotten how amazing this could feel with someone. How lonely he had been without the loving touch of someone you loved. His body adapting to Kiku's size, the foreign feeling of his member being inside of him, it had been a long time since he had sex with anyone. He needed to relax, he needed his body to understand this intrusion wasn't something negative. He needed to adjust to the feeling, to understand what this was, his body trying to figure out and recognize this strange feeling. The feeling of this intimacy with Japan, how long he had craved it, imagined it, though for the longest time he believed he would be content without it. That Japan being in his life, living as his partner, being able to love him and be loved in return, it fulfilled him in so many ways. But now his body was being honest, how long he wanted him, how long they both wanted each other. "Arthur-san? Daijobudesuka?" he asked anxiously, he hadn't spoken a word during all this aside from the sounds that escaped his lips. He had winced, adjusted his hips, breathed, and seemed embarrassed. Though he had a gut feeling he was doing the right thing, the lack of verbal confirmation was unsettling. Perhaps he was attempting to restrain himself as to not hurt his feelings. Was he in pain? Should he stay still? He wished he knew what to do, all he could do was continue with what felt right. But he wanted to take Arthur's feelings into consideration, He wanted to do this properly, for him to enjoy this, this wasn't a one sided situation, they were partners, lovers. He could see England looked uncomfortable, he hated to think that he was hurting him even if it wasn't intentional.
England took a deep breath, calming himself, relaxing his body into comfort. This was natural, the foreign object in his body wouldn't hurt him. This was the man he loved, this was his boyfriend, soon the discomfort dissipated, changing into pleasure and eagerness. His body craving more, his body seeking the loving touch of Kiku. He smiled shyly at Japan, reaching up a hand to caress his cheek to reassure him "It's ok love….you… you can move now". He wanted more of him, he wanted to feel even better, he trusted Japan with every fibre of his being.
Japan blushed, England looked really mature and cool right now, he felt his heart swaying with adoration for him, proud of the relationship and bond they had built with each other. That he was able to see this side of England that nobody else knew of, this had to be the sexiest he had ever seen the brit. He then slowly began to thrust into England, moving his hips to match England's movements, taking his time to move inside of him, watching England's expression warp into pleasure. Soft moans escaping his lips, soon becoming more intense and passionate. Stirring up England, driving him out of his mind, being able to watch his expressions up close, it was truly a wonderful feeling, England wrapped his arms around Japan, pulling him closer, melding their bodies together. Japan followed suit, leaning closer to England, pushing himself deeper into England, glad that England was enjoying himself. Though he had been anxious about satisfying England it seemed his worries had been unnecessary. Admiring his facial expressions, seeing England look so cute, baffled at how anyone could tease him for being plain or stuck up, when England was the most charming person he had ever met. Alluring him in like the nectar to the bee, leaning down to kiss England again, while continuing to thrust inside of him. England returning his kiss, the taste of Japan on his tongue.
England lay on his back in a blissful daze, his belly full and the light afterglow of his orgasm rushing through him. His body still trembling as the waves of his orgasm washed over him. His skin sticky but not unpleasantly so, brushing his hair from his face, a shy smile on his lips, chuckling to himself as he reveled this feeling. Japan had been so tender yet so passionate, making sure he was pleased yet surprisingly bold despite his bashfulness. He trusted Japan with his body, as shy as Japan had been he was certainly experienced. He certainly would sleep well tonight after the intensity of their actions, this intimate emotion of love shared by two people after the throws of passion. Japan laid beside him with a content smile, his head rested on his heart, listening to every beat like a musical instrument. Sensing the excitement in England's body, the passions bursting through him. His body was still trembling with the waves of his orgasm wearing off, glad he had made him feel so good. He had been rather nervous about how their first time would turn out. England's soft warm body beneath him, His heart racing, his body trembling, That comfort that came with lovemaking that made one feel whole and content. He would remember this moment for a long time to come, a precious memory that he would hold close to his heart. Reflecting on it with slight embarrassment but also deep joy. The natural embarrassing awkwardness that came with aftersex. "That was wonderful Arthur-san, I haven't felt so happy in so long" he sighed. He had remained isolated for many centuries, until his boss had decided he needed to make allies and spread. Of all the nations he had befriended, he had to admit England held a special place in his heart.
England blushed smiling mischievously, he was no innocent he wouldn't deny that statement. He just hated how people made him look like some degenerate when he was by far not the worst nation with a colourful past. Over the centuries he had warmed his bed with many nations and humans alike, some of whom he had carried affections for, some of whom had been a brief meeting. So many faces, some of which had blurred together as the years passed. France and himself had been once married and shared a bed, though they had their differences, had their resentments, picked their fights, they did care deeply for each other. France wasn't nicknamed the nation of love for no reason. Himself and Spain had also shared a passionate romance and rivalry that spanned centuries, during their pirate years as enemies they harboured a tension that they still felt all these years later. They argued, they had their differences, they went their separate ways and stole brief glances. For a short while they did have hookups and steal moments, but it soon ended. It wasn't meant to be and they respected that, but they would always have a strong connection, that they couldn't deny. But with Kiku, it felt different, it wasn't purely based on sexual attraction and baiting one another. They carried no hostility, no bitterness and rarely argued about anything, respecting one another and sharing a sense of comfort. A more personal connection of trust, intimacy and pure love, being able to look into each other's eyes and feel love. He was more self-aware around Japan, able to show a kinder, self-conscious personality he often hid from others. Japan didn't mock him for his failures, he didn't tease him for his ability to see magical and mythical creatures. He was full of his own flaws and surprises but it made them better, they accepted each other fully. "You certainly surprised me pet, I didn't know you could be that passionate" Arthur jokes.
Kiku raised his head to gaze at England, his brown eyes gentle and yet filled with that same longing. Though content in his previous isolation from other nations, he had longed for love. Reading romantic stories of soulmates and romance, wondering if he would ever find his fated person, he truly felt as though England had been that soulmate he waited for all his life. He truly felt the invisible thread binding their hearts, what he felt for England he couldn't vocalise into words alone, like a silent song they both understood about one another. There was a legend about the red fated string, an invisible thread that bound two people bonded to be soulmates together, nothing could tear these people apart. They felt it in their body and soul, their hearts forever beating as one. England gazed back at him, that sense of comfort he felt around Japan that he never had around anyone before. They followed their instincts, being able to sense when the other was sick, troubled, in danger, scared, lying etc. They were able to read each other like a book, bringing them closer. Making him believe that he could be happy again, the trust he lost after America became independent, France betraying him to side with America. The fragility of his heart being shattered into pieces, believing he would forever be broken. The love he found with Japan that healed his broken heart, reaching out to entangle his fingers in Japan's hair, stroking it affectionately. Smiling fondly at one another, leaning across to share another loving kiss.
England lay on his front in the early hours of the morning, scribbling away on endless papers, making sure he didn't miss anyone. Luckily his contacts were useful to remember the key people he usually sent presents to, but having to remember his other friendlier allies was difficult. God knows he would have America and France whining down the phone about him being a jerk, he swore he didn't know which one was more childish than the other. In recent years it was clear to see America had certainly inherited a lot from France in terms of personality. When you were distracted and carried so many friendships, it was hard to keep track of everyone when you lived such an isolated life which often became hectic when disturbed. Making sure to write one for all his allied nations whom he had built a friendship with, not wishing to leave anyone out. His brothers across the pond in his home nation, though they had bullied him somewhat as a child, mocking and teasing him relentlessly. They did love him in their own strange way, the softest of the trio being Scotland. They would appreciate a card despite their differences, christmas was a time of peace after all. The axis nations to be polite, remembering long ago when he and Germany played football during christmas. Every nation he could think of with which he had friendly terms with
"What are you doing England-san?" Japan asked curiously, he could see how hard he had been concentrating, occasionally biting his pen as he contemplated his words. He had been writing for some time, wondering if he was keeping a diary. He had to admit when England was concentrating he had an air of maturity and coolness that made him swoon. He hadn't wanted to disturb him so he simply continued to watch him thoughtfully with a loving expression.
England blushed, having spaced out so deeply he forgot about Japan briefly "Oh, hi love. I was just writing some cards for everyone" he babbled. Noticing how quiet he was, he left him in peace thinking he had fallen asleep and let him rest. Respecting his personal space and minding his own business for a while. He hoped Japan didn't feel neglected, if he wished to help he would have happily appreciated the gesture.
Kiku blinked, it was common in his nation to send postcards to others at Christmas out of formality, however he limited the cards to nations that he carried a friendship with. England certainly had many allies, the pile of cards was heftier than he expected. He noticed England seemed hesitant about it, knowing his rocky relationship with some nations, but he was attempting to build bridges and show kindness putting petty rivalries behind him. He smiled fondly "That is very kind of you Arthur-san, I'm sure they will appreciate it" he reassured him. Even if there were some who wouldn't appreciate them, he had done a good thing and he should be proud of that.
England chuckled in amusement, Japan's moral boost giving him some reassurance "I hope so pet". He had put a lot of thoughts into these cards and he hoped his message came across.
"England-san, before his independence, America previously was raised by you like a colony correct? Alongside Canada-san?" Japan asked curiously. Though they carried some similarities, most times America and England couldn't be any more different. America was loud, obnoxious, childish and often pulled people into his manic schemes. England being more stubborn, level headed, practical and polite. He couldn't help but feel curious as to how their relationship had developed over the years.
England smiled wistfully, indeed but that was such a long time ago now, though he still carried his bitterness, his pain and torment. He did feel a strong sense of pride knowing he had helped America grow as a person, that America still admired him deep down somewhere. Canada was more vocal about his appreciation and care for England, while America was more awkward. After having helped raise them both, it would be hard not to reminisce about their childhood, "Indeed, though that was many moons ago, they've grown up now" he reflected.
Japan shifted, he couldn't help but wonder about the kind of people America and Canada used to be. "If you don't mind me asking, what were they like as children?" he asked. He knew if he attempted to ask America up front he would become embarrassed and say it was uncool, making excuses about it. He knew they forged a strong bond with the Brit and compared to America, England had handed Canada his independence without a fight. What was so different between the two? America certainly had to fight for England's approval, while he was always pleasant and praised Canada whenever possible.
England chuckled, they were so grown up now that thinking of how small they used to be was still a tender subject at times. Knowing he missed out on a large part of America's growth due to his responsibilities keeping them apart. Wishing he could have done more to be a good parental figure to America. "America was a little bugger, he was always restless, getting up all hours wanting to wait for Santa clause. He'd stuff his face full of sugar and get tangled in the decorations. He loved to make a mess and get into mischief, getting sugar rushes until he passed out and fell asleep" he laughed. America would become grouchy due to lack of sleep, until England was able to soothe him back to sleep or make him take a nap. He had to fight against America's puppy dog eyes due to limiting sugar, but he stood by his decision at the cost of America's tantrums. But he always calmed down or wore himself out, apologizing for his actions tearfully later on. Kiku couldn't help but smile, that did sound like something America would have done, it seemed he was a handful for England even back then. But due to raising him England was able to predict his moods better than most. But he still had a hard time not patronizing America, due to viewing him as his little brother.
England smiled fondly "Canada always wanted to help make the biscuits or trim the tree. He loved nothing more than cuddling on my lap with a Christmas film. He's still such a sweet lad today" he hummed. Canada always loved helping with the measurements, taste the finished baking, dress up the tree with tinsel and lights, handing England the baubles as they decorated. At the end of the night he would snuggle on England's lap with a hot chocolate and a festive film classic. The difference between the two was still evident today, the emotional maturity of Canada compared to the childish energy of America. Canada still kept an eye on his brother today, but he and England enjoyed bonding together. England always attended his hockey games and supported Matthew, taking an interest in his hobbies and supporting him.
Kiku couldn't help but feel slightly jealous, the intimacy they had shared in the past, before his involvement with England during his isolation. They had a connection with England, most of their memories being tied to him in some way. The memories he shared with the two younger nations made him feel lonely knowing they had a history with England he would never know about. A wedge in their relationship in which he could only imagine these stories, for he didn't know that side of England. But he knew England loved them, they were his family, he had raised them, they would always be someone he would be proud of, continuing to watch over them as they grew. "Canada-san is very polite, he bakes well and has such a soft manner of speaking. His bond with you is evident, from how much he respects and trusts you. But I have to admit his facial appearance and style are reminiscent of France-san" Kiku reflected. He knew that Canada was also a French colony, the latter taking great pride in him as Canada called him papa. However, in recent years though Canada still had a fond relationship with France he had grown closer to England. Often turning to him for help when he needed help, Canada was very shy but friendly, he had friendships with a lot of nations but America's thoughtless actions often dragged him into trouble.
"Canada is one of my past colonies, now we are just allies. We share a title in the British commonwealth in modern times. He sided with me during the civil war and helped care for me during my health spike after America abandoned me and caused our rift. But he continues to be a loyal ally and companion to me" he admitted. Canada carried a gentle heart but a good moral compass, he could be very passive aggressive too which many didn't know about him. People often underestimated his capabilities and qualities due to his quiet nature.
Japan hummed, England spoke so proudly of Canada with a sense of affection and admiration. Yet when it came to America, he was equally as passionate but frustrated with the younger nation. But he wondered what the core reason for that was? Wishing he could have done something different? Wishing for more respect from his past colony? He could only wonder, for there were too many reasons to choose from, "Hai, but what went wrong with America-san?" he asked. England froze, his head wilting and a heavy sight erupting from his lips. What went wrong indeed?
America felt a shiver run down his spine as though someone was spreading rumours or gossiping about him. That gnawing gut feeling you got when your instincts told you trouble was brewing. He knew England was spending time with Japan for the festive season and keeping his distance but he couldn't fathom why, were they plotting something against him or spreading rumours? His gut told him something was up. Japan had always seemed so friendly with him, he could ask him about anything and he was always up for hanging out. He wasn't nearly as grouchy as England and he was always up for fun. So why had they both turned him down at christmas? Had England turned bah humbug and managed to convince Japan to do the same?
"You keep sulking like that and you'll get frown lines" Canada warned, he knew his brother tended to worry over everything and sulk when he was left out. America needed to accept that rejection was sometimes a possibility. Other people had plans that didn't always involve him, it didn't mean they necessarily hated him. It just meant they had made their own plans and couldn't attend. Though he knew it was a crappy feeling, it wasn't the end of the world, though he had a right to be disappointed. He was still spending time with him before he made his own plans for the festive season.
America huffed, he knew Mattie was scolding him but he just couldn't understand "Why doesn't England want to spend time with me? My Christmas parties are awesome" he whined. He always made an awesome buffet, great music, great host, great party games and even photo booths. He never missed anything and always made sure they were memorable. So why would anyone want to skip? Was he doing something wrong? Was he becoming too predictable with his plans?
Canada shrugged, England had entrusted him beforehand about his christmas trip this year but promised to bring back souvenirs. Knowing America would only complain and demand that he come along too. They would have never known any peace otherwise "he's an adult, he can do what he wants" he reminded him. America really needed to learn to find someone else to pester around christmas that wasn't England, himself or Japan. He needed to branch out and speak to other people.
"But he's our brother Mattie, why is he ignoring us?" America huffed, they were family and secrets were not allowed. Lying and deceiving people when you were family was wrong. Why were both Japan and England avoiding or ignoring his texts or calls? He knew they had his number so something had to be going on. Unless they were planning to surprise him with something, why would they be ignoring him? He wanted answers, he didn't like being left out. He knew Japan had plans but he always knew how to schedule people in, so what was England's excuse?
Canada rolled his eyes, god America could be oblivious sometimes, just about everyone else had noticed Japan and England's mutual attraction. Nearly everyone noticed they had started dating, they just hadn't verbally confirmed it yet, which was respected as it was their private business. But he wondered but how everyone but America had picked up on this. Only he would need the blunt honesty to make him understand "He wanted to spend Christmas with his boyfriend" he reminded him. Christmas was about peace and togetherness with your loved ones, be they family, friends or lovers. They had the right to wish to spend it together without America.
America froze on the spot, flipping his head to stare at Canada in shock, as if he had suddenly grown a second head. Boyfriend? Since when did England have a boyfriend? The guy loved his own company and tended to find most gatherings tedious or stressful, at least when he was around. Just when did he find a romantic partner without his knowledge? Did he and France get back together? He knew they had history together and pretty much dual raised himself and Canada. When had he started seeing someone? Did Japan know?
Canada sighed, yep his brother was a moron, who else would it have been? The two were mutually avoiding him to spend time together alone, making sure their phones wouldn't distract them? Could it be more obvious? "England and Japan have been seeing each other for years. They're a couple, he didn't want to be alone at Christmas so he visited Japan instead" he explained. The distance between them was rather difficult, they must have planned for some time to make this work, but the effort would be worth its value to be able to spend time together. Just like he was involved with Romano, England was involved with Japan. His travel time was at least 8 hours away which wasn't too long a flight, but it was still stressful. The six hour time difference didn't make communicating any easier either, but they made it work. Japan and England would be facing similar problems but would be handling it in their own way.
America was shocked, Japan and England were dating?! For how long? Since when? Why hadn't either of them told him this?! Didn't they trust him? So many questions were running through his mind a mile a minute. His head was spinning, I mean they were always friendly but he never knew they were lovers. Canada sighed "It's their business who they tell, they make a sweet couple and they don't owe you an explanation. Just respect their privacy Al" he reminded him. America meant well but his words could be hurtful, he could have come across as mocking or judgemental. Whom they told was their business, when they decided to share their relationship was on their terms. They were happy together and that was what was most important.
America pouted, he knew Mattie was right but he was still hurt that neither trusted him to tell him. That they thought that he couldn't keep a secret or he would in some way bully them. One was his best friend, or so he believed and the other was his mentor and adopted brother, that was as close as you could get. But he was upset that everyone else knew but him, that everyone had either been told or was more perceptive than him. He wanted England to feel comfortable to tell him anything, he wanted them to laugh together. He wanted to support England any way he could, but if England couldn't trust him, what did that say about him?
England yawned in content, having slept peacefully for the rest of the night after satisfying lovemaking with his boyfriend. He had no immediate plans for the rest of the day, but there was nothing wrong with taking time to do nothing every now and again. There was nothing wrong with having a day of doing entirely what you wanted so long as it was enriching to you. Happily sipping his tea while himself and Kiku sat on the porch wrapped up warmly while admiring the snowfall. Watching the satisfying beauty of winter while warm and cosy with his lover was a comforting feeling. He would have to take some photography of it later on to add to his memorabilia of this trip, it would be a waste otherwise. "You aren't getting cold Arthur-san?" Kiku asked calmly, the tea would keep them warm but he could bring over the blanket for comfort if needed. It was becoming chillier in temperature and the snow outside may become thicker. Though beautiful to spectate it was indeed a dangerous thing, capable of so much damage as well as so much beauty, the fierceness of nature incarnate.
England smiled softly, touched by his concern "I'm very content Kiku, the internal house heating and this tea will keep me toasty, besides I think our romp last night did the job" he chuckled. He doubted he would have to worry about getting sick anytime soon, Japan was a very hospitable host and always made sure to tend to his needs whenever possible. He never had to worry about feeling neglected while he was here, just enjoying bonding with his lover. Kiku blushed but smiled back, sitting beside England while admiring the snow, reminding him of mountain hot springs, wild monkeys enjoying the snow in their thick coats. The blanketed forests, quiet nights and even the infamous legend of the snow woman, which hunted lost travelers in the woods. Suddenly, England's phone began to vibrate surprising him, having made sure to disconnect from everyone, keeping his phone on emergency only aside from his boss. He had truly wanted to immerse himself in this experience and not become distracted. He hadn't contacted many people while here in hopes of detoxing and getting some headspace. The lack of notifications from his few social media was a relief, but now all of that was being disrupted. He rolled his eyes in frustration before checking the caller ID, cursing whoever was attempting to contact him. To his frustration, he viewed it was America, of course it was, how predictable. He couldn't get five minutes peace from the brat, he had half a mind to mute the guy "Yes, Alfred? For what do I owe the pleasure of this call?" he sighed.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS IGGY!" America yelled eagerly
England kept the phone from a distance as to not be deafened by the volume of his voice, voice control was not a strength of America's, you could hear him from afar no matter where you went. Even when entering somewhere where speaking was banned, America would get them kicked out for speaking or yelling too much. He gazed at Japan apologetically before returning his attention towards the call "Thank you, Alfred, I'm grateful for this greeting. Do you need anything? I'm trying to relax and enjoy the festivities" he replied impatiently. This was his holiday in which he planned in advance some time ago, making sure he had time to himself so nobody could bombard him. Every christmas he had people begging and pestering him to hang out so he had no time to himself. Yet now that he had invested his time to spend it entirely with Japan, another problem arose. He had hoped to make some festive goodies and maybe muck about in the snow before some more sexy time with Japan. This was about sharing their interests and trying to have fun, he didn't appreciate interruption from America every other day.
"I'm sorry you guys can't make it to my Christmas bash, but I'm glad you guys are having fun together" America called
England sighed, was America sulking because he felt ignored? Was this payback because he hated not being the centre of attention? He knew being cool and showing off was a habit of America's, but he needed to learn that it sometimes felt rude to others. He needed to respect that everyone had their own interests and hobbies, not everyone could always make it to his christmas events. Communication was key, which America was often bad at. "America, we have attended that Christmas event for the past god knows how many years, missing one year doesn't mean the world will end"
There was a long silence across the phone before America replied sulkily "Doesn't mean I can't be upset that my best friends are dating and I was left out of the loop" he grumbled. Just how long had they been making fun of him for being out of the loop? For being unaware of their little secret?
England blushed, how did America find out about that? He hadn't been hiding it but they chose to keep it private. Most people already caught on anyway, so they never had to openly say it because everyone else was aware. But it protected them from negative judgement from those who would be less accepting. Germany knew Italy knew, France knew, it wasn't a secret. But why should he tell someone if he didn't feel comfortable, it was his choice to make and America had to respect that whether he liked it or not. "Listen you wanker! My relationships are nothing to do with you!" England yelled bitterly
America went quiet for a while, he knew England had a point, how England chose to live his life, who he loved or hated, that was of his own choice. But that didn't mean he couldn't be upset about it. "I just wanted to give my approval so my big brother could be happy" he muttered. He wanted to cheer them on and tease them for being mushy and all that cringey stuff. The affectionate teasing that always came with being the third wheel, rather than out of malice.
England softened, feeling like a berk but he just got so frustrated with America only following matters which benefited him. He would happily tell him of how their relationship developed, but he would have to accept their privacy of how much they wanted to share. That they wanted to be alone with their own lives outside of his "I'm glad you accept my dating Japan, but if you could show more tact when it comes to our privacy I would much appreciate it" he sighed. He then hung up, rubbing the bridge between his eyes wearily, glad the phone call was over. Japan looked at England sympathetically, he too understood how difficult and pushy America could be. Though America at times entertained him and they had some mutual interests. Sometimes he could be a bit much and often wished to avoid the chaos that always seemed to follow. He knew the guy meant well but he was often oblivious to how his actions affected others.
"Joyeux Noël Angleterre!" France beamed down the phone. He was so touched to receive the postcard from England, it was a thoughtful gesture and not something he had expected. He hoped that England was starting to mature and sulk less, he was far more appealing when he showed his softer side. But then all of England had been cute, after all he had watched him grow up from their adolescence. He had heard he wouldn't be attending America's annual christmas party which was unusual for him.
England sighed, he knew this was routine when it came to his friends and family. Sharing phone calls and reminiscing with those closest to you, but he worried about the phone bill he would be costing his boss and if this would become a habit for the entire trip. He knew France was just being kind and wanting to be traditional, but somehow he always found himself exhausted when greeting people around the festive season. He only had so much enthusiasm when it came to being sociable "Merry Christmas Francis" England pouted impatiently. Wondering if France was going to tease him for being a humbug.
"Angleterre, are you feeling ok? You haven't insulted me yet" France mocked playfully, usually he was grumpy, insulting and lying about how he had things to do. When he knew England preferred his own company most of the time.
England gripped the phone, he was so tempted to call him wino or frog. Anything to make him shut up and give him a taste of his own medicine. But perhaps Japan had made him softer, to feel so loved had caused his bitterness to subside. This was a time of year that only came around once and brought with it so much joy. The time of year where everyone became excited. But it was Christmas, being kind to those you cared for was a routine, changing his routine and feeling peaceful had made him kinder. Realising that sometimes doing something different wasn't always scary, it allowed you to appreciate things from a different angle. Able to put past his stresses and worries, being able to enjoy the moment. France had been his oldest friend, since childhood and a dear ally, yes he could be an arse sometimes and tended to enjoy showing off. But growing up France had been the one to look out for him whenever he reached his lowpoint. When he was bullied by his siblings, when other nations pushed him around, when he was alone with only his magical friends to speak to. France had visited with sweets, he had played with him until he had to leave, to this day despite their differences he really cared. They were best friends, then lovers, briefly married, they had a strong bond of trust and they did truly care about each other. But Japan was his soulmate, that much he knew, and it may hurt France to know he wasn't the one but his love had been sincere. "I know I'm often an unpleasant git to you, god knows our rivalry spans centuries. But you are my best friend, you were also once my lover. I just want you to know I appreciate you, and to wish you well this Christmas" he muttered bashfully. The line went silent, England wondering if France had passed out from shock, I mean this wasn't the sort of conversation they were used to having. Most times they argued or France flirted with him until he hung up out of frustration. Wondering if he should hang up and simply wait to see how France would respond to this at a later point.
"Angleterre, quand es-tu deven si mignon!" France sobbed happily, wondering if this was a happy dream but he couldn't care less. That was the cutest thing England had said to him in a long time. No matter how bratty, how stubborn, how short-tempered, how obnoxiously drunk, being able to hear England say something like that to him made it all worth it. Part of him wanted to beg England to say something so sweet to him again, just so he could have that fond memory. He knew he probably sounded dramatic, but he had always been a deeply emotional and passionate man, he just loved to share his feelings.
England blushed, was France making fun of him? God knows he had mocked him enough over the centuries, he felt Japan grip his hand affectionately for support, sensing the tension of England becoming frustrated. Japan instinctively knew when something was wrong and attempted to ease his troubles, sometimes without speaking a word. England softened, mouthing a thank you towards him, it was time to tell the truth. America would probably blurt something to France so it was better to tell him this way "I'm spending Christmas with Kiku this year, meaning I won't be attending America's fancy do this year. But I hope we can reunite over the new year and bond with each other" he suggested. Yes, France annoyed the shit out of him sometimes, but he was someone whom he could rely on, someone who helped defend him and raised him when he got lonely as a small nation.
"Félicitations! I'm glad you were able to share such a precious gift! Big brother supports your love! If you need advice never hesitate to call" France called before hanging up. He had seen the loving glances and shy exchanges between the two for so long, but wondering when they would announce their love was something he always considered. But at last they had found their happiness and he was so proud.
England hung up the phone, an expression of confusion yet amusement flickering across his face, he honestly didn't know what to make of the situation. But he knew this moment had been a positive one, a pleasant conversation indeed. "Well, France is still an idiot but…. He's given us his blessing" he chuckled. Taking stress from their shoulders.
Japan gripped his phone hesitantly, China had raised him as a brother and though they had their tensions they were still family. He debated on whether or not this was a good idea but avoiding the subject would make matters worse. He respected if China would rather be left alone or not be informed, but he felt inclined to tell him to avoid drama or awkwardness in the future. He may as well get it over with instead of running away like a coward.
"Ni Hao Kiku?" China responded curiously, wondering what he was calling for. Due to it being christmas he had many plans and responsibilities. America had asked him to help cater for his christmas party this year, meaning he had much to do.
"Kon'nichiwa China-san, merry Christmas" Kiku greeted politely, he sounded as if he was in a good mood but stressed. That was at least a semi positive for now.
"Merry Christmas Kiku, are you enjoying Christmas? It's a busy time of year, better to be alone, is less stressful" China replied. Bustling people, present shopping, screaming children and music everywhere. It was a global celebration adored by many but indeed was merchandised and profited to make a lot of money. But in the end it was always worth it. However, it was good to appreciate that not everyone had something, and some people had barely anything, but giving was important.
Kiku smiled awkwardly, wondering how China would respond to him being romantically involved with Arthur of all people. The two of them had their tension and China didn't enjoy England's company all that well, but they could be respectful around each other. "Hai, I'm learning new traditions and a quiet Christmas alone, it reminds me of how soothing Christmas can be with a loved one" he explained. Being able to expand his interests and inhabit new ideas into his life was indeed enjoyable.
China hummed suspiciously, he sensed there was something Kiku was not telling him. He did sense that Japan had become involved with someone recently "Did you get a girlfriend? Is she nice?" he pestered. He wondered which female nation in which he had fallen in love with, one that he had chemistry with.
Japan shifted, he didn't know how China would react to him being involved with a man. But then he carried a strong bond with Russia, being one of few who didn't hate him. Having known Russia since he was small and being one of the few to see past his childishly cruel personality. If China didn't accept it, then he would acknowledge that but continue to date England. But he should know the truth, he wouldn't lie to his brother "I have a boyfriend Yao-san, I'm dating England" he responded.
China went silent for a while, mirroring the shock that France showed before he told them "I see, you and crumpet were getting close lately. It was only a matter of time, I cannot stand the guy, but if he makes you happy, so be it" China responded before hanging up.
Kiku stared at the phone, he knew China had issues with England among other nations, being an ancient nation and older than most of them. But he had accepted them in his own way and that was enough. He would just have to live with the fact that England was his romantic soulmate, and it would remain that way.
"Merry Christmas Arthur, It's nae like ye tae call sae soon" Scotland greeted affectionately. He was enjoying a whisky by the fire and watching the snowfall in his country. Small bairns making snowmen and throwing snowballs, sledging and people enjoying the festive season. Reminiscing on the days of christmas when he and Arthur had been children, before they became older nations.
England hummed, somehow speaking to his brother brought him a sense of comfort. Though Scotland was known for his cold nature and supposed antisocial personality, he was truly a gentle giant. Not exactly the life of the party but he knew how to have fun, he was just a quiet person who had a fiery heart. "Hey Scottie, nice to hear from you again" he teased. His brother had been the one to teach him to hunt, the one who created protective talismans to ward off evil magical beings, he loved him in his own way.
He heard Scotland laughing in amusement down the phone, wondering what his brother was getting up to with his boyfriend. Though he didn't show it around others easily, England was a romantic at heart and loved getting cosy with his lover. He knew the landscape in Japan was beautiful, with the snow it must have looked photogenic. "Ye been reapin the benefits? Gettin a cosy like?" Scotland teased in amusement.
England blushes, he certainly wasn't in the mood to joke about his sexual conquests with Japan on the phone to his brother. He knew Scotland was just teasing him but sometimes he could be very embarrassing. "We have been enjoying our Christmas alone, it's nice to change things up a bit" he admitted. Getting away from what was familiar had really opened his eyes. The way his lover celebrated the festive season, being able to remember his past without bitterness, but instead with pride. Being able to allow himself to enjoy this time of year with someone important rather than alone.
Scotland chuckled, he could mentally picture the shit-eating grin on his brother's face "Aye, change is good. America or France being bothering ye?". He knew his brothers old ward could be a handful. His own minor memories of America were often filled with him being a troublemaker. Though he did love the younger nation, he was often too hyperactive for his liking. However, he carried a close bond with France, allies for centuries.
England sighed, he could picture Scotland scolding them both for cockblocking his little brother. He was equally as protective over England, the same way France was towards Canada and Spain towards the Italy brothers. He never let anyone push his little brother around, yes he teased England but never out of true malice. "America was pestering why I didn't want to attend his party this year, then upset that I kept my relationship from him. France was just bloody happy about it" he admitted.
"There's a relief" Scotland chuckled, but there was something important he needed to confront. "Listen Laddie, a'm sae prood o ye, A can tell Kiku makes ye happy. But promise me, ye'll bring him tae meet the family, we wanna greet oor new brother in law" he warned. He could sense his brother was truly happy, but he needed to know this person genuinely cared for his brother. That was all the reassurance he needed.
England blushed, Kiku meeting Scotland would certainly be amusing but he would be able to enjoy it somehow. Though they were an intense bunch they had good hearts underneath their rowdiness. His brothers were overbearing and odd, but they would indeed have a good time together. Reminiscing over the pasts and embarrassing stories. Being able to take Japan to meet his brothers in Scotland's home nation would be amusing, but indeed a fun bonding experience "I'll hold you to it" he agreed.
"Arthur-san, Gomen, China-san is… he means well, he's just…. Old fashioned" Kiku apologized. China had a colourful history of his own and was by no means innocent, but it was hard to move on from such history after living for so long. He was very superstitious which would add to his dislike of England, their history with war had also caused a rift between the two of them. But he still respected China and in some ways he did carry love for him.
England scoffed, China was beyond old fashioned at times more childish than America altogether, he had issues with himself and had for many centuries. The two had always carried hostility, being on opposing sides of the war and even now had their issues. He didn't appreciate his precious little brother dating the ex-pirate punk England, being a bad influence and all that. China simply refused to change and would rather follow his own decisions than allow others mislead him "I was raised by Scotland and France yet I turned out all right, he's just a stubborn arse" he muttered. Whether he liked it or not, he and Japan were in love with each other, they completed each other and they were happy.
Kiku took a deep breath "I wanted to tell him, so I wouldn't lie, but if he can't accept it, I won't force him to. But this is my choice to be with you, we were fated to meet Arthur-san, we are bonded. Aishiteru, I can't wait to meet your brothers" he stammered. He had simply told the truth and nobody could hold that against him, following his heart as to what felt right. But he wouldn't force China to accept that, but he deserved to at least be aware and that Japan had made his own decision. But now he was making new friends and meeting England's family.
England blushed, he felt his heart being swayed, how sweet was his boyfriend? He certainly had found a catch, someone who completed him. Reminding every day in new ways of just why he fell in love to begin with. He had heard the legend of the red fated string, though he had never believed it, after meeting Kiku, he couldn't deny he felt the same. That somehow their meeting had been for a reason, their choice to disobey their bosses to become allies had been fate. Fighting for what they wanted and never looking back on that choice. Knowing how happy it had made them in the end. He then moved towards Kiku, cupping his cheek fondly, stroking it with his thumb "I love you too Kiku, I believe we were born to meet. I will warn you, my brothers are a handful" he chuckled. Kiku smiled, England learning towards him, capturing his lips in a sweet kiss.
Joyeux Noël Angleterre!-Merry Christmas England
Angleterre, quand es-tu deven si mignon-England when did you become so cute!
