Ranking Race of Danger and Healing Blood
The Misfit Class are following Kalego from the classroom to the teleport elevators that teleported them to the stony platform as he told them the test will be a race to the end of the valley.
"Your race will be determined by the Familiar summoning exam given previously along with this race. The goal is to reach the flag at peak covered in mist far beyond this valley before your classmates do." Kalego explained.
This made the demon students, mostly on Iruma to gasp in shock of this kind of extreme exam they'll be doing while wondering he will survive this.
"Here's the course's layout description." Kalego snapped his fingers making the cute and adorable explain guide much to his annoyance.
"Here's how the course will go! It'll be more time consuming, but you can take the relaxing route through Warbling Valley or the Cutthroat Valley though there are many dangers and traps along the way. Beware, the mountains are vast and dangerous, and the demon birds will protect their nests at call cost." The cute heart demon explained.
"Cutthroat Valley is shorter, but the unfortune tradeoff that it could outright end your life." Alice stated.
"Sounds like it." Iruma nodded.
"Okay then, let's get" Kalego stepped onto the guide screen hard with his foot showing the students he still hates it.
"The breakdown is done." Kalego said.
"The only way to get through this like a boss is Cutthroat Valley." Sabro smirked, believing he can get through it.
"Too bad, this year Warbling Valley is the sol option." Kalego said much to Sabro's shock.
"For real, but why?" Sabro asked.
"Regrading of Cutthroat Valley's Guardian has been in a mood lately." Kalego mentioned.
"It has a guardian?" Iruma asked.
"That's right, it's an enormous magical beast that rules over the area." Kalego mentioned as Iruma becomes scared.
"That's why it is strictly off limit. We can't guarantee your safety." Kalego stated.
"Forget that I'm going in there otherwise what's the point of even going in there." Sabro refused to accept this race if it isn't dangerous enough for him.
"Oh, tough talk." Kalego said and snaps his fingers having the gates open.
"Ready all of you." Kalego shouted.
Iruma became very nervous as he looks around seeing his classmates spreading their wings big and wide as they are getting ready for the race and thought about quickly telling Professor Kalego about his "wings accident" before it's too late.
"And now, go!" Kalego started the race.
Too late.
And the whole Misfit class flew off with a fast start with some strong winds created by the strong flaps of their wings, and that also causes Iruma to be weirdly roll like a ball at the very edge of the ledge, but he was able stop himself.
"Okay, now I just need to" Iruma suddenly felt a hand pushing him off, and that hand was Kalego.
"Get moving." Kalego ordered and turns around to the elevator.
"Wait, sir!" Iruma screamed trying to tell his teacher that he can't fly, but it was too late and saw some demon birds below him.
(With Bachiko)
Backiko is seen walking around the school for her usually patrol and then her mind went to thinking about Iruma.
"By now, the ranking race should start about now. I wonder if that idiot Kalego even read the letter I wrote about Iruma not being able to fly." Bachiko recalled writing the letter about the lie she came up for Iruma in case anyone ask about his wings.
"Oh, Miss Barbatos." Morax called out as she walks over to her.
"Huh, what do you want?" Bachiko asked.
"Well, it just the letter you gave to Professor Kalego before classes start, he threw it away." Morax informed.
"WHAT?!" Bachiko screamed in rage scaring Morax.
"That idiot! That letter said that Iruma went through an accident at the cost of both his wings." Bachiko exclaimed angry and pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Wait, accident, I don't understand?" Morax confused.
"Look, short story is that Iruma lost his wings, and he can't fly like the other demons." Bachiko mentioned.
"Can't fly? Oh no, then Iruma could be in very danger with the ranking race, hoping he doesn't go to Cutthroat Valley with the Guardian being aggressive lately." Morax said causing a tick mark to appear on Bachiko's head.
"I swear, if I find out that my son is dead then he's the one gonna be begging for death!" Bachiko threatened unleashing her fierce demonic pink aura.
"N-Now, now, I'm sure Professor Kalego will know of that right away and take him out of the race, but that would also mean that Iruma won't get his rank." Morax stated.
"Damn it, he better hopes Iruma survived before I go see him!" Bachiko growled.
"(Iruma, please be okay or else you're grounded for worrying me to death.)" Bachiko thought worried as she looks out the window, and march away.
"Huh, where are you going?" Morax asked.
"Duh, where else? I find that ass Kalego and give him a piece of my mind." Bachiko answered angry.
"Oh dear, I hope she doesn't hurt my Kalego too badly." Morax worried, then quickly cover her mouth upon realizing what she just said blushing of embarrassment.
Morax looks around that there is no one around, knowing that she let out a sign of relief.
(With Alice)
Alice is seen flying fast through course with graceful speed being way ahead of his classmates then dodges some needle attacks from some vicious plants, then burn them down with his summon creatures.
"Nicely done." Alice said to his summon creature before unsummoning him.
"Wowie! One more time! One more time!" Clara laughed exciting and appeared to be riding right onto Alice's back.
"Hey, get off! When did you…?" Alice gasped upon seeing his annoying "friend" on his back wondering how did she get on him.
"Oh well, you see right from the very beginning I hitched a ride on your back and then I…" Clara explained but paused.
"What? Did you get bored or something?" Alice asked glaring, then saw someone flying fast past them.
"Is that… Sabnock?" Alice identified the flyer.
"Where is he going?" Alice wondered, but then recalled how Sabro wanted to go to a certain valley to prove that he is better and other nonsense.
"Oh no, don't tell me, he better not be…" Alice realized what Sabro is planning to do.
"Come on, Azz-Azz, why are you flying so slow?" Clara asked wanting him to go faster.
But suddenly they got caught in some veins because Alice didn't look where he was going, and Clara was obviously too distracted for the fun of it.
"Help me, Azz-Azz, you're my only hope!" Clara giggled.
"Don't thrash! And let go of my neck!" Alice yelled trying to break out, only for the veins to snap and they fell.
One Devi-Bat camera is sleeping onto the split-up sign with one direction leading to Warbling Valley while the other sign has an "X" telling others not to enter Cutthroat Valley, but Sabro ignored the sign breaking it and waking up the Dev-Bat camera.
"That way is not safe! Danger!" The Devi-Bat camera alerted to the other Dev-Bats with Kalego right now.
(With Kalego)
"So, Sabnock went there after all. Every year, there are always one numskull." Kalego sighed.
"Well, it we're lucky, we can at least retrieve an arm or leg. On the bright side, I don't mind having one imbecilic to worry about." Kalego erased Sabro's name from the student list with his magic.
(With Sabro)
Sabro is seen fighting against the powerful pushing him back again and again, but the blonde and tall demon boy wouldn't back down no matter what nor how dangerous it is.
"(This is how it's supposed to be. Cutthroat Valley maybe more dangerous than anything, but it's still the best shortcut and that is why anyone who dreams of becoming the Demon King goes through Cutthroat Valley to earn their ranks. Who cares about some guardian.)" Sabro thought believed strongly and being stubborn too.
"I will crush the beast myself." Sabro proclaimed as he flies through the harshest wind.
"I will begin my military rule of Demon King from this valley." Sabro stated, now seen climbing up a dangerous waterfall.
Sabro is even being pulled in by a sucking vortex pulling him into a cave though he managed to break free from it, then climb up a mountain and begun flying again. But unknown to Sabro, he just flew past a giant furry creature with red eyes and spread its wings to go after the young demon student for trespassing while leaving a smaller bird creature behind.
(With Kalego)
"Alrighty, I wonder where did that other insufferable idiot who started late went." Kalego flipped through the De-monitor channels trying to find Iruma, but nothing on the screens.
"The De-monitors must have lost track of him." Kalego said.
(With Iruma)
Iruma appears to be safe and sound, but not exactly safe and sound as he is being carried off by a demon crow with its break grabbing onto the back of his shirt.
Allow me to explain what happened. After being pushed off the cliff by Professor Kalego, Iruma caught the curious attention of some demon crows while he was falling. There was a brief but intense battle, and now they made him their quarry.
"(That's right, humans are consider a delicacy in the demon world. I hope he savors every last bit at least.)" Iruma thought, but then his mind went to thinking about his mom.
"Oh yeah, would be very furious if she saw me letting myself getting eaten by these demon birds!" Iruma realized, feeling something strange going on from within himself.
This is the first Iruma had actually felt something strong within that he wanted to go see his adopted mother more than anything, to show her that he is okay and in one piece. That feeling is one of those certain drives to move a man forward no matter what.
"I am Iruma Barbatos, and I won't be beaten by a giant feather ball with wings." Iruma believed.
"I don't know how, but I got to find a way to get out of this mess and finish the race." Iruma said strongly.
Then there is a sudden crowing yell that spooked the demon crow making him fly away and dropping Iruma as he screams in fear.
(With Alice and Clara)
"Azz-Azz, there's… There's something I need to tell you." Clara smiled while slowly being eaten by a vicious red plant and grabbing onto Alice's uniform.
"You're the best, thank you for everything. Don't forget about me, okay?" Clara asked as only her grabbing hand is left out.
"Let go of me, would you!" Alice shouted of annoyance and makes a fire sword to slice the moving veins down and the plant monster, ironically freeing Clara as well.
"Oh, hey Azz-Azz. I came back." Clara smiled again like nothing major happened.
Alice sigh wondering why did he bother saving this bothersome idiot when he just could have leave her here, but then he realize that would Master Iruma sad if anything were to happen to Clara which he has no choice but to go along with this for as long as he can for his Master.
"Oh, now that I think about it. Master Iruma told me that he can't fly because of how he lost his wings, perhaps we should go look for him consider that's what these friends' things would do." Alice said, but then stop him.
"No, I'm sure that Master Iruma would want to pass this trial on his own and show everyone that a demon can get through anything with or without wings." Alice believed strongly.
"However, if Master Iruma wants to make his way to the flag the faster even on foot then he would have to walk on Cutthroat Valley just like Sabnock did." Alice stated.
"Time to jump back in the staddle and get moving!" Clara jumped back onto Alice's back.
"GET OFF?!" Alice yelled in rage, but Clara ignores him again.
He honestly can't understand why Master Iruma would ever let this annoying creature accompany him every day like this.
(With Iruma)
Iruma screams loudly while wishing he won't land on some rocks, which came true when he landed on something soft that broke his fall but notice something about what he landed on feels a little twiggy for some reason.
"Uh, this looks like a nest." Iruma guessed, then picked up a skull making him gasp.
"Wait, is this…?" Iruma feared of what this might be, then a large shadow roams over him.
Fearing of what that might be, Iruma didn't want to turn around though he didn't want to die without knowing what that is, so he turns around and saw a big demon bird with white feathers and a mark on its forehead looking down on the human boy with viciousness in the eyes.
"Yep… I'm dead." Iruma gulped as he went pale.
The demon bird screeches in rage at Iruma slowly approaching him.
"AH! It's gonna eat me!" Iruma braced himself for the worst, but the demon bird didn't approach him more as he fell over.
This confuses Iruma as the demon bird kept screeching though notice that it wasn't anger at him this time, but it sounded more like the big feathery creature is in pain and his guess was right when he saw a big cut on its right leg.
"Oh, you're hurt." Iruma pointed at the wound, then the demon bird screeches at him again.
"I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!" Irum apologized.
"I get it now; you're scared because you're injured. But how can I help you?" Iruma tried to think of something to help ease the demon bird's pain.
Iruma looks around and saw a sharp stone in the nest, picking it up as he got an idea and the demon bird though he was going to attack it.
"It's okay, just watch." Iruma said and cut him which hurts surprising the demon bird.
Iruma see that the demon bird is watching him carefully which is what he needed and took out a cloth from his pocket, ripping it a little and wrap it around on his injured hand.
"You see, I want to do the same for you. Can I?" Iruma asked showing the cloth wrapped on his left hand.
It would seem the demon bird has understood the boy's intention on helping him as it looks at Iruma's eyes, then sat down and extend its right leg forward for Iruma to see.
"Thanks for the trust." Iruma smiled and petting the break.
"Just a sec, let me tear off some fabric." Iruma started to unwrap the cloth.
While doing that, a tiny piece of blood from the cut of his hand fell from the cloth and right inside the wound then suddenly the leg is all healed up in an instant surprising both him and the demon bird.
"It's healed, how did that happen?" Iruma asked as the demon bird lift its leg to see it closer for itself.
"Wow, I can't believe it! It really is all better now!" Iruma amazed that he was somehow able to heal the demon bird and realize something.
"(So, apparently humans have healing powers in the NetherRealm and with just a drop of blood. Maybe humans are more valuable here than I thought.)" Iruma thought surprised at this fact he just learned.
He looks up seeing the demon bird is happy with its leg being all better now.
"I'm so happy for you." Iruma smiled.
Then suddenly the demon bird looks at him fiercely and lean forward.
"H-Hold, I just saved your life! Can't you let me live!" Iruma begged scared, then the demon bird snuggle on his face being all friendly now.
"Aw, you're gonna let me live. Thank you." Iruma relieved that he is not going to get eaten today, then the demon bird tosses him up and onto its back.
"Oh, you're giving me a ride?" Iruma asked, and he got the answer when the demon bird is flying off from the nest and headed in one direction.
"Wow, this is great! Looks like I'm gonna make it through this race no problem." Iruma excited.
Or so he thought.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
The Ranking Race had begun and Iruma had a more rocky start than everyone else as he couldn't fly, but it would seem he has made friends with the demon bird and is giving him a ride though it won't be heading for the flag at the end of the valley.
