Surreal
"I saw you in my dreams again, it felt so real." Lulu Spencer touched the back of her neck as she raced out of bed, feeling guilty for dreaming of Johnny while sleeping next to Dante. Johnny had been shot a week ago and pronounced dead, Lulu wanted to sob uncontrollably just thinking of never seeing him again.
"I don't know if I can do this." Lulu mumbled, racing out of the door to the loft and hopping into her car.
"Where the fuck am I?" Johnny Zacchara groaned, finding himself on the cold, wet grass. Johnny had been forced to fake his death after The Balkan had started targeting him…nobody but Lovett knew he was alive. Johnny looked at his surroundings to find himself in the Port Charles community park, and Maxie Jones standing a few feet away gawking at him.
"I guess I should be glad you're not dead but, JOHNNY WHAT THE FUCK? You have a grave! Am I seeing shit again? Oh,no." Maxie yelled at him.
"No, no. I'm alive. I had to fake my death because of how in danger I was from someone. Nobody but Lovett knew but I needed to get to Lulu. Tell her what's going on. Is it a nice grave?" Johnny sighed, knowing Maxie couldn't keep her mouth shut.
"Thank god. Not that someone's after you but, the you not being dead thing. You need to talk to Lulu, she's a mess. Suicidal. I wake up not knowing if she'll even be alive some days, completely withdrawing herself from Dante which is neither here nor there. Really. Johnny, you really wanna be a smartass right now?" Maxie crossed her arms.
"I know, I should have warned her. If I wasn't a smartass who would I be?" Johnny shrugged, before exiting the park and heading to The Overlook assuming that's where she'd be. He was right, Lulu stood there looking out at the dawn.
"You're an ass, you know that? I would smack the shit outta you, thinking you're invincible. You always did, I don't know why I'm surprised. You always did, dangers of growing up with Anthony Zacchara I wager. I know why…because you're gone and I'm here. It's not right for me to be here, when I have Dante. It's just-it's not the same. It'll never be the same and, I guess I wouldn't want it to be…you being my first love and all. It's not right to him but, when have I ever in my life done anything right? I guess what I'm trying to say is that I miss you, I just didn't realize how much I would. I took for granted that you'd always be there, which is stupid given you're job description. Why do you always do this to me? I hate you. Not really but, you get on my nerves." Lulu spoke into the air, Johnny felt horrible at the pain he'd obviously caused her.
"I could never apologize for what I did. I am so sorry." Johnny sighed, making the blonde whirl around.
"You're not here." Lulu glared at him, knowing full well that he was.
"Let me explain. Please. I know you wanna hurt me right now but, hear me out." Johnny put his hands up in surrender, slowly walking towards her. Lulu smacked him upside the head once he was close enough.
"You ass!" She screamed at him, pissed.
"I know, I know. I am an ass." Johnny agreed, he deserved that. Lulu hit him again and kept hitting him, though the pain lessened with each hit.
"You are a fucking asshole, Johnny Zacchara. Why the fuck would you do this to me?! HOW ARE YOU ALIVE? WERE YOU EVEN SHOT OR WAS THAT A LIE TOO?JESUS CHRIST JOHNNY!" She yelled at him as he grabbed both of her arms to prevent any more hitting.
"I know, nobody's denying that. I'm an ass. I had to go away, because someone was trying to hurt me…I didn't want this person to come after you to get to me. You saw what he did to Brenda and Sam, he's targeting the mob. Yes, I was shot in the back…that's why I couldn't get back earlier. Know you know. I don't expect you to forgive-" Johnny broke off his sentence because Lulu buried her face in his chest, sobbing.
"It's okay, I'm right here." He sighed, wrapping his arms around her.
"I can't believe you risked coming back." Lulu sighed, wiping her face.
"I had to. There's no other way about it. Can't leave my favorite girl hanging." Johnny shrugged.
"Well, you need to go. You're no use to anyone dead." Lulu looked at him, ready to hear gunshots at any moment.
"Come with me." Was all he needed to say, knowing she'd follow.
"Where are we headed?"
