Help!
It started out as any other day. But when my adoptive dad, Carlos, got my report card, I couldn't stand living here anymore. I made plans to run away to my aunt's house. Everyone thought my mother had died in a car accident, but only my cousin, brother, & closest friends really knew the truth. My mother had died of leukemia when I was a little girl. I had nowhere to run when she died. I always confided in her. She was my guardian angel. But her words still stick in my mind.
"Listen to your father. He knows what's best for you. You know how to morph. Use it properly. If your father tells you to do something, do it. Never disobey your father," mama said that on her deathbed.
Carlos & the other rangers had rescued me from my real father. My real father had whipped me if I didn't do something or forgot something. I would cry myself to sleep everyday. This is my story.
One morning, while he was still sleeping, I slipped outside & morphed into a crow. I flew to Dallas & then morphed back to human. I ran as fast as I could. I was deaf & I could see a big building in front of me. I morphed into a dog & ran up the stairs. The door was open & I raced in. I got on one of the elevators going up to Walker's office. My mother had known Walker. They had been friends when she was alive.
