Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon or Inuyasha (Go Sesshomaru!) or any of their characters. I do, however, own any OCs created and the story written.
A/N: I know that I'm using the English names for the Reborns, which means Molly's last name should be Baker. However, I'm keeping all of their Japanese last names. I don't have a last name for Sango, Miroku, Koga or Ayame; so I'm just going to make them up. Sorry.
Also, I apologize for the mix up the chapters. It's what happens when I stupidly work on multiple stories at a time. I get them mixed up. Sorry about that. I have it fixed now.
Chapter 6: Speaking Up
Previously…
"So, you're the Lunarian Princess that the planets are looking for, but your parents have agreed to keep your location quiet so that you can have a normal life. You've maintained all of your past powers from your previous lives, making you one of the most powerful people on Earth. You've basically lived over a thousand years, are technically a super hero, been married and had a kid. Reigned over your own Kingdom in Crystal Tokyo as Queen. And your wish, after everything was destroyed, created this timeline, merging our two worlds and bringing back thousands of lives."
"And you're the descendant of a powerful Miko, whose family consisted of my past husband, which makes you part of Earth's Royal bloodline. You had a time traveling well in your family's shrine that allowed you to go back 500 years to search for shards of jewels that used to be in your body, and contained powerful spiritual energy. You traveled with Inuyasha, Songo, her Fire Cat demon, Miroku and your adopted fox kit. You finally destroyed your big bad and your wish ruptured my wish creating this world and the Jewel is back in your body."
The two girls sat on the couch in silence, staring at each other. After a moment, they started laughed hysterically, not able to control themselves. Already fast friends, they knew that their new journey in life was just beginning. And they couldn't wait to see where it led them.
1-2-3-4-5
"Are you sure we're doing the right thing?" Kagome asked, checking on the rice, "I mean, it's been a few weeks and nobody has recognized you. Why chance it?"
Rena was at the counter, rolling sushi, "There were a few factors that have decided it for me. The first is you and Inuyasha." She paused, "I recognize his last name from somewhere and it is driving me crazy." She shook her head, "I'll figure it out eventually. Anyways, he's been staring at you since classes started. He knows you, he senses it, but he can't place it. You need to be straight with him." She paused for a moment, "Not to mention Songo. You can't hide this from her. It's not going to be possible."
With a sigh, Kagome stirred the kimchi, "Agreed. We tell the girls, everything, and hope they start to remember. Then we get them to help us tell the guys."
A buzz sounded from the security intercom, sending Rena over to answer, "Yes?"
"Ms. Agrotera," Security cut in, "there's three ladies here to see you from your school."
"We're expecting them. Could you make them guess badges for future visits?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Okay." They nodded at each other, resigned, "We've gotta do this, so…" Rena looked around for a moment in reflection, "I'll start setting the table and come back for the spicy rice cakes. Start getting the food set out."
1-2-3-4-5
"Is this the right building?" Molly asked, looking up, "This is one of the richest areas around, with an all Otherworld and Offworlder community. Not only that, this particular series of apartments are like Fort Knox. It took us almost 10 minutes to get through all of the security points. It's ridiculous."
"Apparently," Ayame giggled, "Rena has money. And lots of it."
They were finally buzzed into the main lobby and walked up to the counter, "Hi," Songo said, taking the lead, "we're here to see Rena Agrotera and Kagome Higurashi."
"Names?"
"Sango Hitomi. Ayame Ito. Molly Osaka."
"Wait here, please." The security behind the counter spoke into the phone for a moment, "We've been requested to make you ladies guest badges for Ms. Agrotera's elevator. Can I have your ID's, please?" The girls handed off their ID's, confused, "This will just take a moment. Wait here." She went into the back and left the girls with the other security personnel alone.
"Rena has her own elevator?" Molly looked over in shock, "Major money."
"Yeah."
Ten minutes later, the front receptionist returned with their ID's and three new badges on lanyards, "You'll be given your gate codes from Ms. Agrotera. The badges only work for her elevator. If you go anywhere else on the property, you must have Ms. Agrotera or Ms. Higurashi with you as your escorts. Understood?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Down the main hall, straight back, takes you to their private elevator."
"Thank you."
The girls followed instructions and waited for the elevator to get to the top. When the doors opened, they were less shocked when there was a set of twins doors ahead of them. (Think of the apartment in Three Men and a Baby.)
"Nice." Sango walked up and rang the bell, "Let's see if the inside matches the out." After a moment, the door opened to reveal Rena in comfortable clothes and her hair down, "This is different. You look so casual."
"Yeah, Rena." Molly pipped up, "It's kind of disturbing. You're always so put together."
"Sorry, guys." She gestured them in, "This is how I usually dress when I'm just at home, relaxing. Come on back. We're almost finished getting the food out." She turned back when she realized that they hadn't followed her, "What's up?"
The three girls looked around the apartment in shock. "Wow."
"Look," Rena sighed, "just come eat. We have some things to talk about." She kept walking, wondering if they were doing the right thing.
After they got settled and started eating, Sango finally looked up, curious, "So? What's the deal? You called us here because you had something you wanted to talk about."
"Yeah." Kagome shared a looked with Rena and sighed, "Here's the thing. The whole, everyone waking up as Reborns and Supernaturals coming out of hiding?"
"Not to mention Offworlders, Youma and Youkai." Rena nodded in agreement.
"Right. Well," She hesitated, "we caused it."
"What?!"
1-2-3-4-5
"Okay, let me get this straight." Sango leaned forward, forgetting her food, "We knew each other in some form of alternate or past life. But, everything has changed because of these wishes you both made that sort of exploded upon each other."
"Correct."
"Huh."
"Wait." Molly stared at Rena, "I think… maybe… Serena?"
"Hey, Molly."
"Wow. It's weird. It's like, the more you two talked, the more these images started appearing in my head. Who's Melvin?"
Rena just laughed, "A long story and irrelevant. He's a Reborn from Mercury and his family decided not to stay here. They went home."
"This is mind blowing."
"The Shikon no Tama." Sango started, shocked, "Naraku. We finally defeated him." She started crying, "Oh, no. Kags. I'm so sorry."
"No. Don't." Kagome crawled over and hugged her, "It's no one's fault. It just happened. I need to figure out how to tell the boys."
"Poor Inuyasha. No wonder he's been staring at you like a lost puppy." Ayame giggled, "A part of him recognizes you and he can't figure out why." She stopped, "Ah, man. Koga used to have a crush on you, didn't he?"
"Well, yeah." Kags shrugged, "But, you know, beat him into submission. It'll be good for him. After all, he no longer has a Jewel Shard in his legs."
"True. Hey, Sango." The She-Wolf smirked, "Will you lose control of Miroku?"
"Not if he knows what's good of him." She grumbled, "Pervert."
"But he loves you." Kagome murmured, "Just like Yasha loves me. I know it."
"It's so weird. I mean, I remember all of this stuff of all of these people who died, but now they're alive. It's conflicting." Sango contemplated, biting into some fruit, "And their father is alive."
"I know. It's really off-putting. Not only being the ultimate leaders and protectors of the Youkai Nation, but they run a multi-billion dollar corporation. How about them Taisho boys?" The girls looked up at the clatter of Rena's fork, "What's up?"
"Taisho?" The blonde asked, breathing hard, "Would that be… Inu Taisho?"
"Um, yeah. Inuyasha's father."
The Lunarian started rubbing her temples as a pain started to pulse behind her eyes, "I think I know him. Or, I used to." Her head popped up, eyes wide, "Wait. Does Inuyasha have a brother?"
"Yeah. Lord Sesshomaru." They watched, almost in slow motion, as the Moon Princess's eyes rolled before she passed out, "Rena!"
1-2-3-4-5
"Princess!" Hiding behind a pillar, Serena charmed herself invisible, waiting for her attendants to pass by, "Come on Princess. It's time to meet the dignitaries from Earth!" They looked around in frustration, "Prince Endymion is wanting a flight on the Alicorns and has requested your presence." They sighed, continuing down the path, "Princess!"
"You know I can smell you, right?" A voice sounded at her ear, making her smirk.
"I wasn't hiding from you." She removed her glamour and turned to her companion, "I heard you came with the Prince of Earth. You didn't kill him after last time, did you?"
"I wanted to. I wasn't very happy finding his scent on you."
"It's not his fault. Not really. I know he likes me, and his family hopes a match would happen." He growled, making her laugh, "I made it very clear to that I was already taken. He was okay with it. Truthfully, I think he's in love with someone else and he's trying to keep it from his parents." She tilted her head to the side as he leaned down to nuzzle her neck, "Besides, I'm already mated. With my parents blessing. I'm sorry that we still have to hide it."
"It's only temporary. We'll start planning the wedding after your birthday celebration and then we'll make it official."
"What makes you think our mothers haven't already started planning?"
"Knowing them, it's already done. Just need to set the date."
"As soon as possible." She looked up into his gold eyes, true love shining through her own, "I hate it when you leave."
"Soon, you'll only see me leave to help my father in battles."
"Are you sure?"
"Ser."
"I mean, you're his only heir, as I'm my mother's. I can't leave here, and I feel bad that I'm taking you from your duties."
"My duty is to you. First and foremost." He reached up and released her hair from her buns and ran his fingers through the strands, "Better." She smiled, "I love you. So, very much. Father understands. We have plenty of allies to help him run his lands. And it's very easy to come back and forth from here to there in emergencies. I will be doing my due diligence with shared reports and helping father find a new heir through our cousins in a neighboring tribe."
"I know all of that. In my head. My heart is another matter. I just don't want to be the cause of any problems with your family."
"I think my mother has secretly been planning our marriage since the day we met." He looked around, "Right here in this very garden." He laid a gentle kiss to her lips, "Nothing, barring death, could keep me from you."
"Please don't tempt fate like that. It scares me every time you go off to battle."
He stared into her eyes, "My Sweet Serenity. I will always come back to you. You are my mate. We are one. My true Sweetest Serenity. My love for you is stronger than any battle I have ever face. And no matter what happens, I will always be there. We are eternally linked. Soul Mates."
"I love you so much, Sesshomaru. My heart aches with how much. My soul cries every times we have to part. I can't stand the idea that something could happened to you and you wouldn't return."
"That's because we're Soul Mates, Rena. I didn't just mark you to claim you. You were already mine. That mark just sealed it." He traced the pale purple crescent moon on her shoulder, "It's better than wedding bands." He smirked as she did the same to the matching one under his hakama, "Did you know that mating marks never leave? Even in death. If we're reincarnated, they will appear as a birthmark. And if we met up again in our next life, our connection will automatically start to reestablish itself."
"I don't want to think about that." She pouted, "No worrying about our next life. We need to focus on now."
"You're right." He chuckled, "No frowning." He rubbed between her brows, "You'll get wrinkles."
"Mean."
"Princess!" Her eyes widened.
"Uh-oh. It's him." He growled, "He's placating his parents, so be nice."
"As long as he keeps his hands to himself."
"Your hands are the only ones I want on me."
"Promise?"
1-2-3-4-5
"Rena? Rena?" Kagome looked around, concerned, "What do you think happened?"
They had moved the blonde to the couch to make her more comfortable and they were gathered around it, trying to wake up their friend.
"I'm not sure." Sango frowned, "It happened after you said Sesshomaru."
"What do you think…" They looked down as Rena groan, trying to wake up, "Rena? Come on. All the way up."
"My head." She reach up and grabbed her left shoulder, "Kags?"
"Yes?"
"Is there a crescent moon on my shoulder?"
"Let me see." She lifted her friend's hand and peered down, "Um, it's faint, but there is one there. Where did it come from?"
Rena sat up as more memories poured into her head, "My Soul Mate."
"What?" The girls looked at her in shock.
"I was mated. We were going to have an official wedding after my 18th birthday. He was going to live on the moon, as I was the heir, and his father was going to appoint a new heir for the Western Lands."
"The Western Lands?!" Ayame exclaimed, "Wait, Sesshomaru?"
"We never got to exchange vows. He was still on Earth, dealing with some unrest, and he was going to come up later. I don't know what happened with him after I died."
"Oh, my gosh." Kagome gasped, "That's why he was the way he was. He lost his mate."
"Was?" Ayame scoffed, "He may have grown with the times and loosened up, but he is still the Ice Prince. Cold hearted, man. His only soft spots are for his mother and Rin. Less of one for Inuyasha, but he's still his brother."
"Rena?" Kags sat next to her, "If I'm telling Inuyasha, then you need to tell Sesshomaru. It's going to be like a domino effect once those memories start coming in. He can't hear about you from someone else. This isn't a blip because of our worlds colliding. This was over a thousand years ago. He deserves to know."
"You're right. I just hope he remembers me. Wait," Her eyes widened, "he's not involved with anyone, is he?"
"No." The girls laughed, "I think Kagura was the only one that ever showed any interest in him. She's still hanging around the complex, hoping he'll cave."
"He won't." Rena whispered, "If he did what you say, he hardened his heart in pain. He wouldn't let another woman to get even a little close." She cried, "And now I have to tell him about my life. The one I had when I thought I was destined for someone else."
"If he loves you, he'll understand."
"I don't think he will."
1-2-3-4-5
"Everybody needs to settle down so we can start, please."
"Are you telling the boys today?" Rena asked, sitting in the gym with the girls.
"I don't know yet." Kagome sighed, "I mean, I can understand Sango and Ayame doing it, because they're already dating Miroku and Koga, but I haven't even had one conversation with Inuyasha yet."
"And I have no one to tell." Molly pouted.
"Excuse me." The girls looked up in shock as a tall blonde guy approached them, "Are you Rena?"
"Um, yeah." Crap.
"My name is Andrew. I'm Venusian."
Rena stared in shock. Andrew. Someone her old teenage self crushed on, was a Venusian Reborn. Wow. "Pleased to meet you, Andrew. What can I do for you?"
"I'm told that you're the only Lunarian currently enrolled in the collegiate side of the school. Kinda hoping you could help me."
"Wait, I am?"
"Yeah, well, apparently almost all of them that went back up were teenagers and older. So, any Lunarians that go to school here are in middle school or younger."
"Wow. Didn't know that. Okay." She smiled up at him, "What can I do for you?"
"Technically, I am a registered Venusian. However, my mom was half Lunarian and I've developed some Lunarian abilities. My parents went back up, so I don't have anyone to help me learn. All the teachers for that right now are either at the elementary level for beginners or their parents."
"You want some help?"
"Would you mind? I could really use it."
"Why don't you sit with us at lunch, and you can give me a rundown of the abilities that you have acquired. I'm sure you have Cytherium training already."
"That part's handled. Thanks."
"No problem."
"Hey girls." They looked up to see Koga and Miroku come over and down next to their girlfriend, "You know, you've been keeping your new friends away from us." Miroku smirked, "One would think you didn't want us to meet."
"One would think." Sango said as Ayame laughed, "This is Molly. She's a Marshian Reborn."
"Half, actually." The red head smiled, blushing at Andrew's nearness.
"Right." The fighter continued, "That Kagome. She's a Miko."
"Really. We should have some joint classes together next semester."
"Monk, right?"
"Correct."
"Miroku, quit behind a lecher." The She-Wolf rolled her eyes and continued the introductions, "That's Andrew. We just met and he's Venusian."
"Hi." The boys nodded to each other in typical guy fashion.
"And that's Rena. She's Lunarian."
"Really?" A voice sounded behind them, "Not many of you stayed down here."
They turned to see Inuyasha sitting on the bench above them, with a dark-haired girl glaring down in disdain, "Really, Inuyasha. Must we sit here?"
"Miroku and Koga are my friends."
"Well, Kagura is my friend and I want to sit with her." She huffed before standing up and stomping away.
Rena glanced at Kagome as she stared in shock at the other girl. Interesting.
"Sorry about Kikyo. She gets a little annoyed sometimes. I think that's the Miko in her."
Kagome shook her head and focused back into the conversation, "Actually, it's not. Mikos are trained to be warriors and healers. Priestesses of the highest calibers. Protectors. That annoyance is not from her being a Miko. Bet the attitude hampers her."
She turned back around to Rena, missing the look that Inuyasha was sending her.
"Alright!" The teacher called out, looking at her clipboard, "Next on the mat… Sango Hitami and… Rena Agrotera."
The crowd gasped in shock. Everyone knew that Sango was part of the Taijiya. One of the best in her tribe. To them, putting her up against a Reborn, and a Lunarian at that, was just wrong.
"Does the coach have a grudge against Rena or something?" Miroku asked as he watched his girlfriend walked to the center of the room.
"Um…" Kagome didn't know what to say. She knew how dangerous Sango could be. She also knew that Rena has a history of fighting. Granted, it was transforming into some magical super soldier, but still. But she wasn't sure how the Princess would be able to handle herself in an actual one on one fight. With no powers.
"This is uncalled for." Andrew complained, "Lunarians weren't trained in the fighting arts. There was no need. The warriors on other planets helped guard them. Not that they really needed it. Nobody went up against the Queen. Her powers were too vast."
"Poor Rena." Ayame pouted.
They watched as the two women got ready on the mats, Sango bouncing on the balls of feet to get the blood flowing. Kagome half hid her eyes, "I don't know if I can watch."
The girls circled each other for a moment, one waiting for the other to make the first move. Sango then moved so fast, a normal person wouldn't have seen it. But Rena was no normal person. She sensed her just in time to spin around catch her fist as she swung at her.
"What?" The Taijiya's eyes widened in shock. "How did you do that?"
"I have some experience." Rena said, "You know some of it."
They stepped back from each other and started circling, "Yeah, but still. You're not using any magic or special abilities. And you're not a demon. You shouldn't have been able to touch me."
Rena shrugged, "Well, I had a different upbringing."
The other girl huffed. "Alright. Let's see what you can do." This time, she didn't hold back. She threw punch after punch at the Lunarian, under the belief that her training made her superior.
The blonde was able to easily dodge everything coming at her. Out of nowhere, the Lunarian grabbed her arm and pulled towards her, spinning on the ball of her left foot as she used the Taijiya's momentum against herself. As her motion began to propel her away, Rena brought her right leg up to hit Sango with a hard kick to his ribs, sending the dark haired girl away from her.
Oblivious to the shocked stares from their classmates, the girls started circling again. No longer underestimating each other. When Sango lunged in a blur, Rena leapt up and over her head and the hunter's fist slammed into the mat. When she landed behind the fighter, she barely had time to catch the foot coming at her face, "Nice form Sango. Try this." Rena changed tactics from defending to attacking.
The girls got faster and faster as they dodged and blocked every punch and kick the other sent out. The teacher finally called it, having been as engrossed as the students, "Everyone get cleaned up. We'll pick it up next class."
Sango, who was breathing a little heavier, stared in confused shock at her friend, "How did you do that?" Rena was barely out of breath, "I'm serious. I don't understand how you did that."
"Me neither." They looked over see their groups of friends walk over, Andrew in the lead, "Lunarians are the most peaceful race in the Galaxy. They weren't warriors. At least, the women weren't. If a man became a soldier, it's because he was only part Lunarian. Women were healers and priestesses."
"I…" She sighed, "I do have some Venusian in me. So, I'm not pure Lunarian, technically." The Silver Crystal just purified anything else in her, but they didn't need to know that, "I was training as a priestess. Met some of the Youkai dignitaries who used to come up there and got permission to learn how to fight with them. So…"
"I think there's more to it than that, but I'm going to let it go. For now."
Rena saw Inuyasha staring hard at Kagome, trying to force his mind to remember. She caught her friend's eye and gestured to the Hanyou. With a sigh, the Miko turned to her former protector, "Inuyasha?"
"Yeah?"
"I know we haven't officially met, but…"
"You wanna talk." He nodded in understanding, "Let's go."
"Just keep your girlfriend away from me…" She trailed off as they walked out.
"What's going on?" Miroku asked, looking as confused as the other guys.
"Same thing that's fixing to happen with you and Koga. Go on." Rena pushed them forward and their girlfriend's grabbed their arms and led them away. "Now," She turned to Molly and Andrew, "How about we go to the arcade, get something to eat, and we'll have a discussion of our own. Let's go.
1-2-3-4-5
"Wait," Andrew held up his hand and looked around, making sure no one was listening, "You're telling me that I used to have a different life?"
"Yes."
"Hmm." He nodded, "That would explain some things."
"Like what?"
"Like, how I felt that I knew the two of you already. Like, how I've never been here before, but I can probably map this whole place in my head. Things like that."
"Well, the more I've listened to her talk," Molly snagged one of his fries, "and the more I've thought about it, the more these memories start coming into my head."
"I can see that." He swirled a finger around his head, "It's swirling around in there. It's a little confusing."
Rena laughed, "Try living multiple lifetimes."
"Yeah, that's gotta suck for you, man."
"Oh, it does." They looked back as the girls and guys came in and pulled a table over to join them, "How did it go?"
"This sucks." Inuyasha grumbled, "I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I no longer have to keep staring at her wondering why I've seen her before. But, now I have all these freaking memories in my head, and it's confusing as hell."
"Join the club, man." Andrew moaned before sipping his shake.
"You too?"
"Yep."
"So," Koga leaned forward, "What now?"
"I guess that's what we need to figure out." Rena smiled.
"No." Inuyasha shook his head, "He's referring to you. We made the girls tell us everything. Everything."
She looked over as the three girls stayed away from the guys, frowning, "It's okay."
"Not really." Sango glared at Miroku, "It was none of their business."
"My brother is my business." The Hanyou leaned forward and stared straight at Rena. "Despite our past together, our lives are different now. My father and mother are still alive. His mother is still alive. He's still a cold bastard, most of the time, but he's still my brother. If your death made him the way he is, then you have to fix it. He needs to know that his mate is alive."
"I know."
"If you don't tell him, I will."
