Fantaji Sentai Questinger
Roll 7: The New Players
A cold and damp cell, deep within Sebion's main base of operations…..
He woke up suddenly, pain spreading throughout his whole body as he struggled just to sit up. The last thing he remembered was the explosion after losing to the Armanite. He looked around, he was in a small cell, bars on all sides of him and not even a window to look out of.
He heard a small chuckle and turned to see an awake and alert Valanthe. She appeared to be as banged up as he was, "Finally awake Yuto?" Yuto nodded and tried standing up but found he didn't have the strength, "It seems we got captured." Valanthe nodded weakly, "It's becoming a habit of mine, it's getting annoying."
Yuto frowned as he looked around the cell, "So where are we anyway?" Valanthe scowled, "Kushiraba Palace, the main headquarters of Sebion in the capital city Darkfang." Yuto sighed, "That's not good is it? Guess we should try to escape before they try to execute us."
Valanthe nodded in agreement before a cold laugh echoed in the cell. Yuto shivered, all of the sudden there was such a cold and evil presence that he could barely speak or move. Standing at the door to the cell was a man in all black robes, a hood concealing his face and all Yuto could see was piercing purple eyes that seemed to fill him with a sense of dread.
Valanthe stood up and glared at him, "Vrefaris, I'm surprised you came to see us personally." The man who Yuto guessed was Vrefaris chuckled, "Of course Valanthe I just had to greet the legendary heroes myself. You know Uvubras still isn't over your betrayal, I'm still upset, myself. You were shaping up to be a useful pawn for us."
At this point he had come to one conclusion, this man was the leader of Sebion, judging by Valanthe's reaction he was certain of that much. Yuto tried to muster up whatever courage he could, "What do you plan to do to us?" Vrefaris turned and looked at Yuto, his cold eyes staring into his soul, "You must be QuestinBlue, well you aren't going to escape, I can say that much. No, we're going to parade you around for the entire city to see. Then we'll execute you, painfully and then send your corpses back to Remlin."
Valanthe shot up and ran at the bars, grasping at them, "REMLIN WILL COME RESCUE US YOU SWINE!" Vrefaris laughed and shook his head, his hand glowing black.
As he raised his hand at Valanthe, she began to get a black glow around her, collapsing to the ground and screaming louder than Yuto ever thought she could, "Listen and listen well you elven blight, Remlin will not come for you. Not because I would stop him or because there's no way into the city. No, I would more than welcome him here, but he isn't coming for you because Remlin is too much of a coward to enter here and confront me, and because of that he would sooner let you two die. Though your devotion to him is admirable, he does not share the same feeling towards you."
He flicked his wrist, sending Valanthe flying into the wall, extremely weakened. Vrefaris turned to leave, not another word spoken as Yuto ran over to check on her. He helped her sit up as he tried to force a smile, "Don't worry, even if he's right, Yukishi won't abandon us. He'll convince Remlin to rescue us."
Valanthe slightly nodded, her voice being almost a whisper, "I doubt it, but then again the idiot hasn't let us down before." She passed out as Yuto shuddered, without much effort Vrefaris had weakened her that much. He couldn't help but shake in fear, he was really hoping he was right and Yukishi would come to rescue them.

He bowed to Master Ken as the two exited his hut, "Master Ken thank you for the training, I feel so much stronger now." Master Ken crossed his arms and nodded, "You're certainly on your way to becoming a stronger swordsman than even me. Just make sure to keep training and perhaps you'll be the greatest in the world one day."
Yukishi let a smile appear on his lips as he kept in his excitement, "Those are very kind words, I appreciate it. But I need to get going, my friends are probably worried about me." As he turned to walk away Master Ken cleared his throat, indicating to him to stop, "Before you go Yukishi, I wanted to issue you a warning."
Yukishi stopped and turned around, "What kind of warning?" Master Ken signed, "I know he's your mentor and the one guiding you in this fight but I recommend you be wary about Remlin."
Yukishi glared at him, "Remlin has been nothing but good to me. What reasons would I have to be wary of him?" Master Ken walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder, "I have known Remlin for a long time, before you were even born so believe me when I tell you this, there's something off about him. The man has never aged since I've met him and when asked about it all he says is he hasn't aged since he first appeared. He holds a lot of secrets and perhaps due to his unknown lifespan doesn't hesitate to sacrifice even the closest of friends. Plus he's the bravest man I know but the minute Sebion's leader is brought up he becomes a coward who won't even go 5 miles close to their capital city. He is a good man but there are rough parts of his personality that I don't want to see claim your life, or any of the other Questinger's lives."
Yukishi nodded slowly, "I appreciate the heads up Master Ken, I'll just have to hope he doesn't show any of these traits with me." Master Ken gave him a smirk and patted his arm, "Yes let's hope. Now get going, you've been away from your team for long enough."
Yukishi nodded and turned away from him, the things he had been told about Remlin pushed to the back of his mind. All that mattered to him right now was that he was stronger and more confident in his abilities as QuestinRed!

It had been a day since Valanthe and Yuto had been captured and it had been a tense time for Remlin. It pained him that the two had been captured but he couldn't do anything for them now.
He sat at his desk, trying to grade some papers as he felt eyes on him, burning him in a figurative sense as he tried to ignore the two students in front of him. A hand came down on the table, causing a loud bang as Remlin looked up at a glaring Maki Krisjyre, "Sir Remlin, would you stop grading papers and listen to us for one minute?!"
Remlin stopped writing and sighed, "To what do you want me to listen to you about Maki?" Maki narrowed her eyes at him, "The same thing you've been avoiding me about all day, let Megumi and I go rescue Valanthe and Yuto. We can't just leave them to die in Darkfang."
Megumi nodded in agreement, "Yeah you said we were gonna be Questinger's too, so let us go help them." Remlin calmly shook his head, "Out of the question, the two of you would stand no chance and I don't know when Yukishi will return from his training. I refuse to lose two more from a rescue mission that's guaranteed to fail."
Before the two could protest the door swung open and in walked Yukishi smiling confidently, "Remlin I'm back and better than ever!" Maki shot Remlin a sly smile and crossed her arms, "Oh look he's back, now let us go."
Yukishi closed the door behind him and approached Remlin's desk, "Go where?" Remlin didn't turn to look at him, continuing to stare at Maki as he spoke almost emotionless, "Valanthe and Yuto were defeated and captured by Sebion forces while you were gone. They currently await their executions in Darkfang, Sebion's capital city."
Yukishi felt a pang of guilt hit him, this was what he was warned about, leaving his teammates alone for something bad to happen to them. He approached Remlin and tried to hide his guilt, "I'm back and stronger than ever, let me go rescue Yuto and Valanthe." Maki shot him a look that almost said "he's gonna say no"
Yukishi ignored it and continued to stare at Remlin, the thoughts of his best friend being executed and having to explain it to his family playing in his mind. Remlin shook his head and stood up, "As I was explaining to Maki and Megumi here, a rescue is out of the question. Darkfang is far too dangerous and it risks encountering enemies you aren't ready for. As much as it pains me, Valanthe and Yuto will be executed and there's nothing we can do about it."
Yukishi approached Remlin and stared at him, suppressing the urge to punch him, "Nothing we can do? What are we doing then Remlin, because without them I'm the only Questinger."
Remlin turned away from him and walked towards the window, looking out and continuing to ignore Yukishi's growing anger, "I told you once didn't I, there were originally 5 Questinger's. I've chosen Maki and Megumi to become QuestinGreen and QuestinPink. For now Yukishi I suggest you go home, see your family as you've been gone a week and a half. Tomorrow you 3 will be the new team of Questinger's and you'll fight twice as hard in memory of Valanthe and Yuto."
This set him off, he charged at Remlin and nearly hit him before Remlin waved his hand, Yukishi being stopped against a magical barrier, "This is bullshit! You're asking me to just abandon Valanthe and Yuto, they're my friends! Valanthe is your adopted daughter, and Yuto is my best friend. Not to mention you're asking Maki and Megumi to simply replace them. That's not fair to them and it's certainly not fair to Valanthe and Yuto. So stop hiding behind the barrier and give me an explanation for why you're doing this, that isn't dogshit."
It was quiet in the classroom as Megumi almost hid behind Maki, the idol not being experienced in the ways of magic to try and interfere in this argument and Maki having silently accepted Remlin's orders. She respected who he was and what he had done for Kataryuko to really try and disobey him. She had hoped with Yukishi they could mount a rescue mission, but Remlin was remaining resolute.
Remlin let down his barrier and began to make his way towards the door, pushing past Yukishi, "Go home Yukishi, there's nothing to be done, whether you like it or not." Remlin slammed the door as he left, leaving the 3 students silent as he left.
Megumi looked at Yukishi who seemed to be ready to punch a hole in the wall, "Yukishi, what do we do? I don't want Yuto to die when he's the first real friend I ever made." Yukishi clenched his fist and frowned, "Both of you don't go far, I don't care what I have to do, I'm convincing that old wizard to let us rescue them if it's the last thing I do."
Megumi smiled at him and nodded, Maki crossing her arms and sighing, "I'll trust you with this, but if you can't convince Remlin then don't count on me to go on any rescue missions behind his back. Whether you realize it or not he's a legend where I come from, and I don't want to be on his bad side."
Yukishi nodded slowly, he understood where Maki was coming from, Valanthe acted the same way towards Remlin. He turned and left the classroom, intent on convincing Remlin one way or the other, not to throw away the lives of Valanthe and Yuto.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
He'd been searching for the old wizard for a solid hour, but he had disappeared without a trace. He let his shoulders slump as he walked through the hallways of the school, the thought of Yuto and Valanthe dying weighing heavily on his mind. This was his fault, he didn't trust Remlin to train him and so he left his friends so he could get stronger.
He should've listened to Valanthe when she said they shouldn't separate, it didn't matter much now, he couldn't even find Remlin to change his mind. As he continued to walk he felt a strong hand land on his shoulder, quickly turning around to see Sensei Hido giving him a small smile, "Yukishi welcome back to school! It's nice to see you after you've been gone for a few days." Yukishi weakly nodded at him, "Oh Hido-sensei, it's been awhile." Sensei Hido frowned, "Hmm you seem down, what's the matter? Did you miss lunch?"
Yukishi shook his head and sighed, "Sensei what would you do if something happened because you decided to leave for a bit to try and solve a problem you thought you had?" Sensei Hido crossed his arms, "Did something happen Yukishi?" Yukishi nodded slowly, "Some friends are in trouble because I went on my trip, it's my fault and the only person who could help me fix it wants to just leave them in trouble, they won't even speak to me about fixing it."
Sensei Hido put a hand to his chin and slowly stroked his beard, "You can't just give up though. For as long as I've known you Yukishi you've never just given up, you need to talk to this person and try and convince them as well. Remember it's important to not blame yourself for whatever happened, cause as long as you have the power to fix it then it's not hopeless yet."
Sensei Hido wasn't wrong, he couldn't give up. As long as he had the power to try and save Yuto and Valanthe there was no way he would give up. This wasn't his fault, but he knew he needed to reason with Remlin in order to make any kind of rescue attempt. To do that he needed to apologize to Remlin, he went to find a new teacher because he doubted Remlin, and now Remlin was doubting him.
A small smile formed on his lips, "You're right Hido Sensei, I can't give up. By the way have you seen Kurosaki Sensei at all?" Sensei Hido raised an eyebrow, "I saw heading up to the roof. Why, need to ask him a question about that Dungeons and Dice club you're in?" Yukishi nodded, "Yeah I do, anyway thanks for the pep talk I needed it."
He began to walk away as Sensei Hido gave a short wave, Yukishi had certainly gotten a bit weird after being in that club for so long. It still annoyed him that the kid picked it over Kendo but hey, he was still happy to offer him advice when he could.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
He arrived on the roof and sure enough there was Remlin, sitting on a bench and drinking something from a bottle that Yukishi could only guess what it was. He walked towards him, channeling all his resolve as he approached, "Remlin we need to talk." Remlin turned to him and frowned, "I thought I told you to go home Yukishi, you aren't changing my mind on the matter."
Yukishi stopped in front of Remlin and crossed his arms, "I'm not going home Remlin, we're going to talk about this whether you like it or not." Remlin took a swig from the bottle and sighed, "Fine, say what you want and then that'll be the last we speak of it."
Yukishi nodded slowly and took a deep breath, thinking in his mind what he was going to say, "I'm sorry Remlin. I'm sorry that I didn't trust you enough to teach me to become stronger. My pride had been wounded and I had made up my mind that no one besides a master swordsman could teach me and because of my pride I left the team and caused Yuto and Valanthe's capture. But they shouldn't be punished because of me, I'll accept anything you throw at me after we rescue them. For now though please let me go rescue my friends, if I let them die without even doing a thing then that guilt will never leave me."
Remlin frowned and stood up, placing a hand on his shoulder, "Yukishi, what you just said was very mature, and I'll admit I was a little offended at first that you wanted to go off and ignore anything I could teach you. However in the end you made the right call and you've gotten stronger from learning with Master Ken, but I must make this abundantly clear, the reason Yuto and Valanthe aren't being rescued isn't because I'm punishing you."
Yukishi scowled at him and shook his hand from his shoulder, "Then why? Why are you abandoning Valanthe who you love like a daughter and Yuto who I've heard you say has the potential to become as strong of a wizard as you one day. Why are you sacrificing their lives without lifting a finger?"
Remlin looked at him for the moment, the two locked eyes and for the first time ever Remlin's thoughts were clear to him, he was afraid. Remlin was afraid of something and it was stopping him from even wanting to go near Sebion. Yukishi looked at his mentor and frowned, "Remlin, what are you afraid of?"
Remlin avoided his gaze and turned around, looking through the fence on the roof, down at the students walking below, "Sebion's leader, Vrefaris. We've known each other a long time. Every time we meet something horrible happens, we clash and people die, cities fall and land masses are destroyed. Every time I thought I could take him on we end up locked in a stalemate and the only thing that happens is people I care about die. Meanwhile he cares for no one and doesn't care if another servant dies, only I lose in this war we fight. Let me tell you Yukishi, I've been alive for a very long time, and as much as I try to disconnect myself from people I know will die before me I fail. I am afraid of Vrefaris because if I go to fight him in Darkfang, it might not be just Valanthe and Yuto who I lose. So don't you dare question if I care or not, you said it yourself, Valanthe is my daughter and Yuto has great potential, but they will be lost whether we do anything or not."
Yukishi couldn't help but feel for his teacher, he kind of understood what Master Ken had warned him about, but despite that all he saw was an old man who cared about everyone but had to hold them at arm's length.
Yukishi shook his head, "You're wrong Remlin, just because you fear losing someone doesn't mean you can't take chances. Sebion's leader wins if you allow him to hold this kind of power over you. People die when the two of you fight. I get that, but no ones asking you to fight him. Send Maki, Megumi and I to Darkfang, we'll sneak in and get Valanthe and Yuto out. You just have to worry about getting us in and out. I just need you to trust me that we can do this, because even if you're afraid I'll lend you some of my courage."
Remlin looked at him and began to slowly chuckle, Yukishi nearly falling over from surprise as Remlin calmed down, "I'm sorry, what you just said was very inspiring. I couldn't help laughing though because the original QuestinRed said something to me once that was very similar to what you just said."
Yukishi frowned, "Don't try to change the subject, now are you going to help or not? Either way I'm going to Darkfang to rescue my friends, because I know Valanthe or Yuto would do the same for me."
Remlin shook his head, "You know I can't allow that to happen Yukishi. Besides, even if I let you go, you'd be dragging Maki and Megumi into this and they might not want to be involved."
As he said that the door to the roof swung open and the two girls walked in, approaching the two as Maki looked over at Remlin, "Sir Remlin I know you don't want us to go but Valanthe risked her life to try and save my village and I owe her that much. Yukishi Souji has shown to be a capable leader and I trust him enough to follow his lead on this rescue mission."
Megumi nodded in agreement, "Yuto was my first real friend in a long time, and it makes me sick to my stomach knowing I'd be letting him die when I could save him." Remlin sighed and gave a slight nod, "I'm no dictator, if the 3 of you really want to do this then I cannot stop you, and as your teacher I'm expected to help you as much aid as I can. Just one thing though."
Yukishi gave him a small smile, "Anything!" Remlin returned the smile, "I'll get you as close as I can to Darkfang and you'll have to sneak in. Just promise me, bring Valanthe and Yuto home in one piece or don't come back at all."
The three of them nodded as Remlin let out another sigh and began following the new trio back to his classroom. He was going to put his faith in them that they could succeed in this mission, he could only hope that Vrefaris would not be too much trouble.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Vrefaris sat on his throne, feeling almost content with himself as he awaited his general's return. Uvubras had asked him to hold off on executing their two prisoners until he could return from an invasion they were currently launching.
Vrefaris was happy to oblige, although strangely enough Hereth also requested to be there for the execution. Considering Igritorn was already in the city, still celebrating his defeat of QuestinRed and being"instrumental" to the Questingers downfall, he had simply summoned all his generals to witness the execution. Besides Malin who was dealing with her father in his kingdom.
As he took a sip of wine he smiled, "Well if it isn't young Grant Masters, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Grant Masters stood before him, the boy never knelt before him and it used to annoy him but now after so long he'd developed a respect for the boy for refusing to. Grant glared at him, "Lord Vrefaris I have a question to ask if I may?"
Vrefaris waved his hand lazily, "You may ask it, though I can't guarantee you'll find my answer acceptable." Grant nodded slowly, "Why aren't you worried about Remlin attempting a rescue? I've been watching him these last few days and he seemingly isn't planning anything but you continue to think he has tricks up his sleeve."
Vrefaris chuckled softly, "Because if I've learned anything it's that if you underestimate Remlin then he will do something to ruin your plans. However, in matters like this, Remlin is predictable. He won't dare do anything that may result in a clash with me and getting his own hands dirty." Grant raised an eyebrow, "Why does he avoid clashing with you?"
Vrefaris lifted his glass, finishing his drink in a quick gulp before standing up. He walked up to Grant, his eyes glowing as he approached the 17 year old. His hand shot out, grabbing the human by the chin and pulling him close.
For the first time in a long time Grant felt fear as Vrefaris responded to him in a voice filled with darkness, "Because boy, he fears the power we draw out of each other. When we clash people, places, and everything in our way ceases to exist!"
Grant pulled away, putting some distance between himself and a laughing Vrefaris. He dusted himself off and frowned, "Right, well as much as I would love to stay for the execution I need to get to school. Can't draw any suspicions from Remlin, he doesn't trust me considering he's taken great efforts to hide the secret of the club from me."
Vrefaris gave him a slight nod as he left, giving him permission to miss the execution. The old leader walked back to his throne, flopping down on it and relaxing for a moment.
His eyes blinked for a moment as he swore he sensed something, the same feeling he always got when Remlin traveled between the two worlds. He couldn't do the magic himself, or at least not well enough to bring his entire army to the other world, but he always sensed when Remlin ripped apart the fabric of both realities to transport people to and from the two worlds.
Was Remlin really going to rescue his two lackeys? Or was he just going somewhere else in the world? He shrugged and summoned for a guard, there wouldn't be any harm in having Igritorn patrol the Palace just in case.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Underneath the city of Darkfang a portal opened in the sewers, depositing Yukishi, Maki and Megumi wearing long robes to disguise themselves. The sewer wasn't the best smelling and it was damp but it was the best Remlin could do to give them the best chance at succeeding.
As they walked Megumi did a little twirl as she played with her changer, "This is so cool! I can't wait to transform into a Questinger!" Maki turned around and brought a finger to her lips, shushing her, "Quiet, if we're detected there's no way we'll be able to fight our way out of the city." Yukishi nodded in agreement, "Remember what Remlin said, they'll detect the magic used to change into the Questinger's, so only if it's absolutely necessary, otherwise all of Sebion's army will be on us."
Megumi frowned and nodded, "Right sorry, do you really think Remlin thinks we'll rescue Yuto and Valanthe without having to fight?" Maki shook her head, "No, I think Remlin is expecting us to at least be able to get to them without transforming and then the 5 of us could fight our way out if we have to, that is of course if they're in any condition to fight. Sebion likes to torture it's prisoners."
Megumi squirmed at the thought of the two being tortured as Yukishi stopped in his tracks, turning back to the two, "Listen, if it comes down to it, I want you two to rescue Yuto and Valanthe, I'll distract whatever trouble we might encounter to give you time to get to them."
Megumi frowned, "No way! It'd be stupid to sacrifice yourself just to let us rescue him. All of us are going home Yukishi. Besides, Yuto and Valanthe wouldn't forgive us if they found out we let you sacrifice yourself for them." Maki turned around and put a hand on her shoulder, "Listen to him, he's our leader and you should have faith that he maybe knows what he's doing."
Yukishi smiled lightly, "Relax Megumi, I'm 50% sure I know what I'm doing. Yuto is my best friend, and Valanthe is Valanthe, I'm going to rescue them no matter what." Megumi crossed her arms and pouted, "Fine, but I'm gonna be really upset if I have to tell Yuto that you died."
Yukishi nodded, "Alright then I'll make sure I don't upset you, now let's get going. No telling when they might execute them." The two nodded and they continued walking, following the map Remlin had given them to the best exit towards the Palace.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
It was quiet, a little too quiet for their liking. The three had managed to get into the Palace undetected, almost being to the dungeon as they crept down a hallway. Maki frowned as she looked around the corner, seeing it clear of guards, "I don't like this, we've barely seen anyone since we got into the city."
Megumi gave her a hopeful smile, "Maybe we're just getting lucky?" Yukishi shook his head as the three continued to walk slowly, "No, Remlin said it was possible that everyone in the city was assembling for the execution. Really hope we aren't too late."
Maki gazed around the hallway and signaled to them it was clear, "Sebion likes to gather everyone in the city before they execute someone. We're running out of time but we aren't too late."
As the three walked towards the dungeons they stopped as Maki held up her hand, the color seemingly draining from her face as she turned towards Yukishi, "We've got a very large problem." Yukishi raised an eyebrow, "And what's that?" Maki gestured for him to switch places with her and his eyes narrowed as he saw what it was, "Ah crap, it's Irgitorn."
The dragonborn general paced around the hallway, clearly looking for something as he walked. Megumi looked at Yukishi who remained silent, "What's the plan? Do we transform and rush him?" Maki shook her head, "That's a horrible plan, Igritorn is a barbarian with the brute strength of a dragon, if we just charged in he'd kill us easily." Yukishi smiled slightly, "Relax, I've got a plan."
Maki looked at him in shock, "And what plan might that be?" Yukishi pulled off his hood and stood up, "I'll distract him, while we're fighting I'll make sure to lure him away from the dungeon entrance and you two will go rescue Yuto and Valanthe and I'll meet up with you after Igritorn is dealt with."
Maki frowned at him, "Are you crazy? He nearly killed you last time and you want to fight him alone again?" Yukishi nodded slowly, "Listen, he doesn't know about either of you. He probably thinks I'm the last Questinger so you two can easily sneak past while he's focused on me. Besides I'm stronger than I was before, I can beat him."
Before Maki could protest further Megumi grabbed her wrist, "Maki you said we should trust our leader, so let's trust him and let him clear us a path to Yuto and Valanthe." Maki bit her lip and sighed, "I hate when my words are used against me. Fine, just don't die ok?"
Yukishi flashed her a cocky smile as he took out his dice from his pocket, "Don't you worry about me, I'll make it out of this fight just fine, and tell you what, I win and the celebration later is on me." Maki gave him a small smile, "I'll hold you to that then fôph, good luck." Yukishi nodded at the two of them and stepped out from the wall they were hiding from as Megumi turned to Maki, "What does fôph mean?"
Maki didn't turn to her as she watched him approach Igritorn, "I called him a fool, Valanthe calls him an idiot but I don't think he's an idiot, just foolish in his bravery. At least he's a cute fool though."
Megumi said nothing as Yukishi got close enough to Igritorn to get his attention, "Hey lizard breath remember me? Care for another round?" Igritorn turned towards Yukishi and snarled, a devious smile creeping up on his face, "QuestinRed! So Lord Vrefaris's suspicions were right, you are here to rescue your friends."
Yukishi shook his head and smiled, "Them? Nah I'm here to kick your ass ash face, I've been training and I'm gonna kick your ass and then go find your leader and take him out while I'm at it."
Igritorn snarled at him and took his sword off of his back, "You pathetic whelp of a human. Did I not humiliate you enough last time? Very well this time I'll rip your flesh from your bones and feed it to your friends as their last meal."
Megumi turned to Maki as the two watched, "Why's he taunting this guy like that? Isn't it just gonna make him madder?" Maki nodded, "It'll make him madder, and stronger, he's a barbarian, but Yukishi knows that. He also knows the madder Igritorn gets the more prone to mistakes he'll be."
Yukishi smiled as he brought his changer out from his cloak and slammed his dice into it, "FIGHTER!" The standby music began to play as he brought the changer up, hitting the button as Igritorn charged at him, "QUESTINCHANGE!"
He was bathed in red light as Igritorn almost reached him, "D20!" Igritorn's sword was stopped as the light subsided, "Dive In! Fight for Glory!(Questinranger!) Fighter Classssss!"
QuestinRed appeared from the light, sword drawn and already locked with Igritorn's as he chuckled, "Alright ya komodo dragon how about a little action surge for ya?" His sword glowed as he seemingly summoned a ghostly copy of it, signifying the additional attack he was making, connecting with Igritorn and sending him flying through a wall.
He nodded towards Maki and Megumi who quickly ran past him while Igritorn was still recovering. QuestinRed approached Igritorn and lowered his sword, "I won't lose to you, not again!" Igritorn stood up and snarled at him, readying his weapon, "YOU HAVE NO SAY IN THE MATTER WEAKLING!"
QuestinRed put a hand on his QuestinChanger, fiddling with the dice in the changer as he looked at the angry Dragonborn, "No say? I have all the say in the world! I will protect my friends! I will protect this world! I WILL PROTECT MY PRIDE AS A SWORDSMAN!" He slammed down the dice against the changer, a red light glowing from it as it sprung to life, "EXPERIENCE GAINED! SUBCLASS SET! FIGHTER: S-S-S-SAMURAI!"
The word Samurai appeared below the dice emblem on QuestinRed's chest, along with that his sword changed, becoming a long katana as he readied it in more of a kendo stance, "You're going to see the results of my training first hand Igritorn. Igritorn charged at him, the two swords meeting and producing sparks as they slashed at each other a few times, Igritorn's strikes wild and strong against his more precise and skilled.
Igritorn smiled as he finally got a strike in, a massive cloud of dust kicked up as it landed, blinding him as he felt the hit connect. He chuckled, "All it'll take is one to finish you." As the dust settled and he looked at what should've been his fallen opponent his eyes widened to see QuestinRed completely fine, a red aura surrounding him. QuestinRed effortlessly lifted his sword, throwing it up into the air and landed one swift strike on Igritorn, sending him flying towards the wall, "Surprised? That was my fighting spirit shielding me from your strike, like I said, lizard breath I'm not going to lose again."
He charged forward, hitting Igritorn with multiple strikes, each one increasing in strength as his blade connected with the Dragonborn's armor. Igritorn struggled to stand as QuestinRed inserted his dice into the sword and it began to glow, "FIGHTER: RAPID CRITICAL STRIKE!"
QuestinRed charged forward, striking Igritorn with multiple slashes, faster than the human eye could see as he finally stopped and turned from him, Igritorn falling in an explosion as QuestinRed stabbed his sword into the ground and dusted his hands, "Sorry Igritorn I wish I could stay longer but I got some friends to save."
Igritorn looked up as he began to walk away, reaching out his hand towards him, "Damn you QuestinRed, I won't let you embarrass me." He fell unconscious, his body remaining there as QuestinRed left towards the dungeon.

The two sat in their cell, the silence growing more awkward as they hadn't talked much since the encounter with Vrefaris. The guards had appeared a few times in the last 30 minutes, their execution was coming and Yuto felt a dread descending onto his mind as he thought about what was most likely his last day alive.
He looked at Valanthe who was still huddled in the corner, hurt from whatever spell Vrefaris had used on her, "Are you ok Valanthe?" Valanthe looked at him, her blue eyes barely open, "I can walk, but I probably can't fight even if we got an opportunity to escape. That was most likely his intention." Yuto frowned, "This is most likely it for us then isn't it?"
Valanthe nodded slowly, "Remlin doesn't seem to be coming for us so yes it is." Yuto wanted to protest, but honestly he knew she was right. They heard loud footsteps as two guards appeared at the door, smiling at them and holding up keys, "Lord Vrefaris says it's time for your execution, he said since we volunteered to bring you to it we got to keep those stone thingies you had on you."
The two looked at the guards, their dice in their hands as they proudly flashed them at the two prisoners. The two suddenly heard some kind of music, the guards turning towards the source but couldn't react to it as they fell to the ground, snoring loudly as Yuto stood up to see what had happened. Valanthe looked at him and struggled to get up, "How did they fall asleep?"
Yuto shrugged as they heard a giggle, two cloaked figures appeared at the door and taking the keys from the guards. Yuto raised an eyebrow, "Please tell me you two are rescuing us?" The two figures opened the door and stepped inside the cell, pulling off their hoods, "Well we certainly aren't here to execute you." Valanthe stumbled forward, being caught by Maki. The elf spoke, seemingly taken aback, "Maki?! …Megumi? What are you two doing here?"
Maki grabbed one of her arms and helped her stand, "Remlin sent us with Yukishi, looks like we got here just in time." Valanthe nodded as Megumi handed both of them their QuestinDice, "Yup! Remlin made us Questinger's too, he even taught me a spell on the loot he gave me."
Yuto took his dice and smiled, "Well it's nice to know there's gonna be more than 3 Questinger's now." Valanthe frowned as they began to exit the cell, "Wait you said the idiot was with you? Where is he now?"
Maki began to help her walk as they started to exit the dungeon, "Unfortunately we ran into Igritorn on our way here, he figured Sebion didn't know about us yet so he distracted the brute while we came to rescue you."
Megumi nodded in agreement, "Yeah their battle was pretty loud, but it got pretty quiet in the Palace. I hope he's ok." Yuto smiled softly as they continued on, "He's fine, I'm sure of it. He's probably on his way right now to meet up with us." Maki nodded in agreement as they managed to reach the exit of the Palance, as they exited Valanthe pointed towards the exit of the city, "Now we just need to get out of Darkfang and we're home free."
As they started to walk out of the Palace they heard the sound of breaking glass as QuestinRed fell from above them, landing and dusting himself off, "Man it is like a maze in there, I finally just decided to go out the window." Yuto smiled at the sight of his best friend who turned towards them, "YUKISHI! You're alright?"
QuestinRed nodded and gave a thumbs up, "Of course, Igritorn was no match for me after my training." Maki gave him a light smile as the group approached him, "Is the bastard dead then?" QuestinRed rubbed the back of his head, "Uhhhh no, I was too worried about coming to help you guys that I just left him knocked out."
Valanthe sighed, "Typical of the idiot, forgetting to do something important because his mind wandered elsewhere." QuestinRed laughed and walked next to her, helping Maki move her, "Nice to see you too Valanthe, I'm glad you or Yuto weren't too badly hurt."
Valanthe waved him off as they continued to move towards the city limits, "If you don't mind I'll thank you for the rescue when we actually manage to get out of the city." He nodded in agreement as they kept going, sadly though their luck had run out as a large group of Yamblins waited for them near the exit.
The 5 frowned as Valanthe tried to walk herself, "Well I guess it's time to fight our way out, try not to fall behind rookies." Maki put a hand on her shoulder, stopping her, "Not a chance, you can barely stand. Yuto take care of her and hang back, we'll handle this." Yuto nodded and grabbed Valanthe as she muttered something under her breath about feeling useless.
Maki and Megumi stepped forward, revealing QuestinChanger's on their wrists as QuestinRed turned towards them, "You two ready for your first fight?" Maki nodded as she played took her dice out of her pocket, "I've always wanted to really topple Sebion's army, doing it as a legendary hero is even better."
Megumi took out her dice, throwing it up and catching it, "I'm still not 100% sure how things work in this world but I'm always ready to help people in need." The two put their dice into the changer's as they came alive, "RANGER!" "BARD!"
They brought their changers up and pushed the buttons, "QUESTINCHANGE!" The two were covered in a green and pink light, the changer announcing, "Dive in! Hunter in the trees! (Questinranger!) Ranger Classssss!" "Dive in! Magic in the music! (Questinranger!) Bard Classssss!"
QuestinGreen and QuestinPink emerged from the energy. Both having a similar design to QuestinBlack, Green having a small green feathered cap on her head and the word ranger across the chest. Pink had a pink bards hat and the word bard across the chest.
The two took time to inspect themselves as QuestinRed joined them as Green looked down at the suit, "Would've prefered a darker green but Remlin isn't exactly a tailor." Pink did a small dance as she twirled around, "Who cares, this outfit is so cute I love it." Valanthe frowned and began to yell from the sidelines, "Stop focusing on your outfits and clear us a path out of here!"
QuestinRed shook his head, "As much as I hate to say it she's right, besides these guys aren't going to wait around forever to let us get ready." Green nodded and gestured forward, "Well then, you're the leader, why don't you start us off."
Red nodded and summoned his sword, jumping into a pose, "The Brave Fighter: QuestinRed!" Green summoned a bow and got down in pose, aiming an arrow forward, "The Keen Ranger: QuestinGreen!" Seeing it was her turn, Pink did a twirl before summoning a loot, "The Playful Bard: QuestinPink!"
The 3 continued to speak as one of the Yamblin's began to charge up energy, firing it at them and causing an explosion behind them, "The legendary heroes who'll save the world one roll at a time, FANTAJI SENTAI QUESTINGER." The Yamblins began charging at them as QuestinRed readied his sword, "Now let's finish this quest!"
Green charged forward, sending several arrows into Yamblins before kicking another, jumping into the air from the kick and firing several arrows below her and landing behind them. She noticed more were coming at her as she put a hand on her changer, "Time to stop you in your tracks." The changer came to life as it glowed green, "D6: VINE SNARE!"
QuestinGreen shot several arrows into the ground, vines forming from the arrows and taking hold of the Yamblins' feet, causing them to stop in their tracks. She looked at her handy work as QuestinRed appeared from behind her, fending off a few enemies, "You look like you're having fun." Green nodded and turned towards the group he was fighting, "I've been doing this for years fôph, here let me show you how it's done."
She put a hand on her changer again, cycling the dice until she found what she wanted, "D13: ARROW RAIN" She pulled back the string on her bow and pointed towards the sky, letting it loose as a stream of magic flew into the air. The sky got dark as hundreds of arrows fell from the sky, hitting the Yamblin's Red had been fighting and defeating them.
Red looked at her and shrugged, "Not bad, you'll have to give me a lesson sometime." Green nodded and shot another arrow at a Yamblin, "Only if you think you can keep up."
Two went back to fighting as meanwhile Pink was fighting her own group, she wasn't as skilled as a fighter as the other two but she was easily dodging their hits and getting a few in herself. She sighed as she avoided another hit, "There's two many of you for me to handle myself so maybe a few of you would be willing to fight with me?"
She tapped her changer and began to strum on her loot, "D6: PASSION'S CHARM!" The music began to reach some of the Yamblin's, causing them to have hearts in their eyes and beginning to attack their comrades, taking a few down as Pink watched and continued to play, "Hmmm the rest of you are gonna need to go too though." She changed the pitch and style of music on the loot, a faster melody than before, "D10: MELODY'S SHOCK!"
Electricity began to course through the remaining Yamblin's, knocking them out as QuestinPink looked at her handy work, "Thanks for listening to my music, you guys are just the best fans!" QuestinRed and QuestinGreen arrived to join her as they looked around, "Well I think that takes care of most of them, time to leave."
They were joined by Yuto and Valanthe who seemed a bit nervous, "We should go before any of the generals arrive, or worse Vrefaris decides to intervene himself." The 3 Questinger's nodded and they began to head for the exit, hoping nothing else would stand in their way.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Vrefaris sat on his throne, he was certainly impressed. He really wasn't expecting Remlin to send a rescue team, nor was he expecting the wizard to actually recruit the two remaining Questinger's.
Vrefaris sighed and sat up, "I did the one thing I told Young Masters not to do, underestimated my old friend. Oh well I suppose it's time I end this pathetic rescue mission." As he got up he smiled as something blocked his path, 'Going somewhere Vrefaris?"
Vrefaris smiled as Remlin walked forward, a staff in his hand. Vrefaris smiled in sheer joy at seeing him, "Remlin! I wasn't expecting you to actually show up, tell me how long has it been?" Remlin frowned as the two stared each other down, "Oh 300 years give or take. Tell me, are you still looking to conquer the world?" Vrefaris chuckled at his question, "Oh you know, just looking to pass the time until the two of us kill each other eventually."
Remlin narrowed his eyes at him, "You and I both know what happens the day both of us fall Vrefaris, then your empire won't matter in the wake of the destruction." Vrefaris shrugged and began to prepare a ball of magic, "Oh I know, but then we'll be how we were before we became two."
Remlin prepared his own spell as he put his staff in front of him, "I don't plan to allow that to happen, not here, not ever." The two shot their spells at each other, the two beams of magic destroying the throne room around them as they became locked in a silent battle.
Remlin grit his teeth as he channeled the magic inside of his body, he just needed to last a few more seconds and his students would be out of the city. The two beams suddenly got larger and larger before exploding, sending both wizards flying against the wall, Vrefaris laughing the whole time as he slumped against the wall he landed against.
Remlin sat up and dusted himself off, "Well I suppose it's time I be off, but don't worry I'll be seeing you again Vrefaris." Vrefaris glared at him with murderous intent, "You! You were just distracting me so those pesky Questinger's could escape from the city. You knew I'd focus on you since you never come here out of your own cowardice."
Remlin smiled and nodded, "Indeed, I used my fear of the destruction we caused when we fought to keep you on your toes. Now if you'll excuse me I have to mend the damage you caused my daughter and my student."
He teleported away leaving Vrefaris to scream at him, "REMLIN I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD!" His hand glowed one last time before he put it down, that fight took too much out of him to really go after the Questinger's but he could at least send something as a goodbye present for them.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
They were running faster than they thought they ever could, Red pointed at the exit of the city, "Come on, we just need to get out of the city and Remlin can teleport us out." As they neared the exit a giant portal appeared and from came a giant Bugbear, snarling at them as the 5 stopped in their tracks.
Valanthe frowned as it looked down at them, "Ah great, I knew this was too easy." QuestinRed sighed and turned to QuestinGreen and Pink, "Well guess you two get your first battle in large format too." The two nodded as Green looked over at Red, "Let me take point, I'm very familiar with a Bugbear's weak spots."
Red nodded as the three hit the dice causing the changer to come alive once again, "D15: SUMMON FIGURES!" The red QuestinFigure appeared as usual, joined by green and pink, both smaller than red but built similarly as the 3 jumped into them as Green initiated the combination, "D16: FIGURES COMBINE!"
The 3 split apart, Green becoming the center, red the arms and pink the legs as the usual hat appeared on its head and a large bow appeared in the combinations hands, "D17: GREEN CENTER!" The 3 Questinger's appeared in their chairs and grabbed the controls as QuestinOh got into a fighting stance, "Gattai Complete! Awaken QuestinOh! Green Initiative!"
QuestinOh dodged the advancing Bugbear, putting three arrows into its back as it jumped over it, the Bugbear snarling as it couldn't seem to touch its opponent. From the ground Yuto and Valanthe looked on, Yuto jumping slightly as shockwaves from the battle came past them, "You know watching from the ground this is kind of scary."
Valanthe said nothing but she didn't exactly disagree as the two walked closer out of the city, "Come on just a few steps further and we can get out of here, then they don't have to worry about crushing us to defeat that thing."
Yuto nodded and continued to carry her on his shoulder as they finally crossed the city limits, being teleported away in a blue and black light. Seeing this from the cockpit of QuestinOh, QuestinPink shot her fist up in victory, "Yes! Remlin just teleported Yuto and Valanthe home!"
Green nodded as the three began to tap on their changers, "Then let's finish this thing then!" The QuestinBow got bigger as a massive arrow that glowed all the colors of the rainbow appeared, the string being drawn back as the final blow was prepared, "D19: QUESTINOH FINAL STRIKE!"
The arrow was released from the bow, flying towards the Bugbear and hitting it square in the neck, completely going through it and causing it to fall and explode as QuestinOh turned away from the explosion, being teleported away in a bright light. Though the plan had been risky, the Questinger's had won the day and dealt their first blow to Sebion!

6 glasses clinked together as the D&D club celebrated their mission being successful, Yukishi having a large smile on his face, "Cheers to there now being 5 Questinger's, Sebion is gonna be quaking in their shoes."
Remlin frowned, there was still a feeling of guilt from him trying to abandon Yuto and Valanthe but the two had seemingly forgiven him, "Now now Yukishi, we may have won the day but Sebion is still very much a threat. There are still challenges ahead in the future." Valanthe nodded in agreement, "Thankfully though you don't have to do it without us at least."
Yuto smiled and took a sip of his drink, "Yeah but come on Remlin, we can at least celebrate for the time being." Remlin shook his head and smiled, "Teenagers, I try being a responsible adult and you ignore my warnings. Very well, I do suppose we have every right to celebrate now that all 5 heroes have been assembled."
The 5, even Valanthe nodded in agreement and they continued their celebration, completely unaware that outside of the door they were being spied on by one Grant Masters, smiling from ear to ear. The game that they unknowingly played with him was about to become a lot more fun.
