Here's another short one. Enjoy!

It was a challenge for them to peel themselves apart from each other enough so that they can walk out of Lanie's office. However, after realizing that they would be heading out "together", and going wherever they would now go "together", they albeit still reluctantly, managed to convince themselves that holding hands would do for a while. As they got ready to leave, they turned to Lanie, who had been watching the whole exchange, who had this utterly excited look on her face.

They didn't have to say anything for her to understand their urgency to simply be with each other at this moment, not really. She understood their need to leave, to possibly be in a place where they would have complete privacy, for hours, maybe days, even, so they could cocoon and lose and find themselves in each other.

Lanie wondered if someone who didn't know the two of them could see that too, but there was this palpable, glowing energy in between and around them that told the story of how much they had to be with each other.

Even before these past few minutes, she knew that they simply belonged together. She could see it in the way their bodies subtly oriented towards each other when they weren't even thinking, a subconscious thing, an invisible pull of sorts, she often thought. She could see it in this glint in their eyes whenever one caught a glimpse of the other. She could hear it in the way they said the other's name.

And right now, in this current state, she was almost certain that if she just reached them, she could touch this aura of love that was surrounding them.

"I am so happy for the both of you." She said, pulling herself out of her reverie. "This…" she pointed to their clasped hands "… is what you should be focusing on. It was what you should have been doing for a long time and I'm glad you're finally there. You both deserve to be so happy. You deserve each other."

With that she walked towards them and gave them both a hug. "Come on, go, be with each other, talk, and don't talk – she winked." This made Kate blush and avert her eyes while Castle let out a chuckle and brought their clasped hands to his lips and put a soft kiss on her fingers.

"Bye Lanie" they said as they were leaving the room.

"I will, of course, want some details girlfriend!" Lanie said with her tone high enough for them to hear from the corridor.

I don't think Lanie gets enough credit. I think she is amazing at analyzing people and her insights are spot on and she is a very good friend to Kate. Thank you, Lanie .
