AN: Hey everyone! Here a new chapter for you guys, hope you like it!
Pulling up to a dilapidated building on the other side of town, Natsu slowed his car to a stop across the street. This was the warehouse district of Magnolia, and where the majority of his father's black market businesses were run. Cliché, he knew, but it really was the best place to keep seedy happenings on the down-low.
With pink hair more or less covered by the black cap on his head after fighting his wild bangs into submission under the fabric, he smacked his skull back into the headrest as a groan escaped him. His stomach was acting up again from the excessive driving he'd been doing lately, forcing him to take more sickness pills than usual. His stomach rolled once more realizing he'd have to take another before he left. Tending to Lucy, his father's business, and now actually going to school was taking a toll on him.
It had been almost two weeks since he'd bought the girl and just one night since they'd been with each other, yet it felt longer with all the preparation he'd done to make sure everything ran smoothly. After buying Luce, he'd spent a while trying to figure out exactly how she'd ended up on that stage. She couldn't have been picked off the street and taken to the club. Even if she'd somehow stumbled into a seedy area, Natsu knew she had guards around her 24/7. Then, it occurred to him that maybe it was the guards he should be looking at.
Connecting with Lamy and the research unit of his father's ties, they did background checks on the two men, Aria and Totomaru, to find out that they had worked under Jose before moving under Jude's ranks. He still didn't know what Porla had to do with all of this but he had a bad feeling he would soon.
He'd heard from Gray that Ivan had also mentioned Porla's name after Natsu left with Lucy. It still left a lot of questions, but what Natsu did know was that collecting Lucy's old body guards would give him a lot of the information he needed. Thanks to Jellal's work, he'd be getting his queries answered today.
Natsu slid out of the car before yet again pushing his hair back with his fingers to disappear under the black ball cap on his head. Before closing the door, he threw his sunglasses into the passenger seat, then set out towards the building.
It was quiet along this street as always, no noise coming from his building despite what was inside. The busted-out windows of the buildings down the road, old cars torn apart for parts, rusted gates, and fields with patchy dead grass made an inconspicuous sight if one didn't notice the lack of anyone around, like the squatters usually attracted to this kind of area. It was like a silent jungle-seemingly innocuous to the innocent, terrifying to the aware.
Natsu walked up to a small door on the side of the building, taking out a key and opening it to find nothing but a cold chill in the warm air. Whereas most people would be bothered by the location, Natsu walked confidently ahead to a second door, opening onto a dark set of steps. Flicking on a barely competent light, he started his trek down. The stairs would seem endless to someone unfamiliar, but Natsu knew exactly where it stopped. When it did so, Natsu came face to face with a hulking boulder of a man named Ezel. His huge mass was enough to block the door with his body's width alone. They locked eyes and Ezel quickly moved out of the way, bowing his head slightly in respect towards Natsu. Natsu didn't say anything. He just moved his gaze to the iron-barred door as Ezel knocked three times.
There had been no sound except the building's whispering draft until he reached the chilly bottom of the steps. But once in the basement, Natsu could clearly hear the sound of a disturbance, talking and movement, screaming and yelling, now that he was closer to the source.
A small slit at the top of the door opened, showing fierce eyes and an accompaniment of sharply increased noise. What sounded like a power tool charged up and terrified screams of men crescendoed. No more than a second passed as the slit closed before the sound of a heavy padlock clicking open came to Natsu's ears.
The door opened and another man under Natsu's command, Torafuzar, appeared. He was just as big as Ezel. Standing next to each other, they made quite the pair of enforcers.
"Boss." Tora acknowledged him.
Natsu blinked at him in reply, walking forward while throwing his car key into the startled man's hands. The sight of such a large man struggling to catch them would have been amusing to most, "Bring the car around back."
"Y-yes boss."
Natsu didn't give him a glance back or else he would see Tora terrorize a much smaller man into doing the job instead, but instead he strode forward into a large room, housing at least 50 men and women all working on valuable goods and items. All of them nodded or called out a greeting when they saw him. Sounds that he'd heard vestiges of outside the door washed over him at full force. Loud music played, but was nearly tuned out by all the noise of the workers.
Moving father into the room to an area where items were being boxed to export to a different warehouse in another town, Natsu noticed that a shipment of guns-not approved by the Council-had arrived. A group of people were standing around the boxes, deep in discussion, a couple with clipboards in hand.
The screaming from earlier seemed to have calmed down: not that anyone seemed to have noticed its disappearance, or shown to had ever been disturbed by it.
"Hello, boss," a blonde man, Tempester, greeted the pink haired man moving towards him once he noted Natsu. He watched as Natsu's green gaze looked over the shipment while everyone stood at attention in the boss's presence.
"When are these due to be ready for Grimoire and the inner-city sect?" Natsu asked, picking up a gun and inspecting its craftsmanship.
"Should be ready by tomorrow," Tempester answered, scribbling down some more notes on his clipboard before pointing at some due dates for when the shipment should return to Natsu. "That's when we plan to ship it out."
Natsu's gaze didn't waver from his scrutiny of the gun in his hand as he repositioned his stance as if to shoot towards the open area far ahead of them. Doing so in order to get a feel for his gun of choice: a semi-automatic revolver equipped with a silencer, also definitely not approved by the council. With his stance becoming even more threatening than it already was, along with the object of quick and capable murder in his hands, the novice lackeys around him became noticeably fidgety and nervous. Natsu either didn't notice or didn't care to notice their discomfort. "Take a set of these out on the range and see how they work before sending them out. This is a big deal I'm making with Grimoire."
"Right away boss."
Natsu gave the man the gun before turning away and walking towards another room with thick plastic curtains covering it, reminiscent of a meat locker.
This room was quiet, large, and bright. All sorts of mostly clean equipment was pushed toward the walls, leaving the center clear. It seemed almost sterile, if not for the acrid smell of blood that could never be washed away. There in the middle of the room where most of his victims were kept, sat a terribly battered and bruised Aria and Totomaru, huffing and panting harshly against the seat of the chairs they were tied to.
Towards the opening of the room he met Jellal, the blue haired man's dark eyes glued on his phone as he typed out a message to someone.
Natsu raised his brow at that.
"Just messaging Erza an update." Jellal answered his unspoken question as he pocketed his phone and turned to the man.
"Before telling me." Natsu crossed his arms.
Jellal scratched the back of his head with a placating smile. "I didn't tell her everything."
Before Natsu could answer, the sound of heels joined the cacophony outside, growing closer, until the form of a woman appeared. She wore a tight, form fitting dress that accentuated her deadly curves in dark purple. The dress had long sleeves, a high neck, and came to her knees, but its immodesty rang true in the deep cuts down her bust that went between her breasts only to stop at her belly button, all leaving little to the imagination.
"Dragneel-sama, you've arrived." She purred, touching her manicured hands onto his arm in what was supposed to look friendly, but anyone who looked closer knew better as her hands perceptibly squeezed into the thick coil of muscle there.
"Kyoka." Natsu turned his chin her way, fixing her with the same impassive glare he gave everyone else.
Unlike most others, she was undeterred. Licking her blood red lips, she continued. "I must say sir, you look absolutely ravishing today."
A pained groan left one of the almost dead men behind her, making her grind her teeth in annoyance as Natsu's gaze moved from her to them and his attention on her slackened.
"What did you learn from them?" He looked back at Jellal. Jellal continued on to answer without missing a beat and Kyoka pouted.
"They definitely had a hand in the Heartifilia girl being captured."
"Do you know why they did it?"
"That's the thing, they admitted to working for Jose even though they were under Jude...but that's all they'll say."
Natsu sucked his teeth at that, turning his green eyes back to Kyoka, who was preened under his returned attention. "You haven't been able to get more out of them? That's surprising. You can usually make a full-grown man cry with just your pinky."
Kyoka smirked back at him, noticing the small spark of amusement in his eyes despite his annoyance. "I know, I'm frustrated too. I've even tried out some of my special tricks on them." The blue-eyed woman purred, giving him a salacious look that made torture sound somehow suggestive.
With a sigh, she tossed her hair back, "I'm this close from chopping their balls off and seeing if they talk then."
Gildarts walked in at that very moment, pausing in his steps to give the woman a wide-eyed look. "Here's to hoping you're not talking about me." He said, warming up from his earlier shock and slowly giving the woman a flirty smile while handing Natsu some paperwork.
Kyoka tilted her head up as if he was beneath her, "You wouldn't be able to handle me." She sneered before idly turning her gaze back to her boss. "But I think Natsu-sama more than could." Her seductive eyes took him all in and gave his form more than appreciative glances. She couldn't help but notice just how good he looked today in all black clothes that formed to his muscles perfectly. She would love to force a man with such a domineering aura to submit under her. She could feel herself almost drooling at the face he would make as she'd pain him with pleasure.
"You're barking up the wrong tree there Kyoka-chan." Gildarts continued, taking the papers back from Natsu after he signed them. The man they were talking about chose to ignore their conversation and Kyoka's passes, as always.
The green haired woman glared at him, hissing out her ire at the disgusting honorific the old bastard added to her name, "What do you mean?"
"He's got a new lady love," Gildarts grinned widely while crossing his arm, "and she's here to stay."
"Hmph, didn't stop any man I've been with before." She replied confidently with her arms also crossed, the two at a standoff. They broke off, however, as Natsu walked passed them, languidly towards the two prone men seemingly forgotten by everyone else in the room.
Seeing them up close, Natsu hummed in the back of his throat at their grim faces and wheezing breaths, distantly remembering what they looked like before in the pictures Lamy traced for him. They were now just former shadows of what once was. Their faces had been torn asunder with razor blades, knives, and various other sharpened implements. Small spots of blood and dirty needles on the tables next to them spoke of injections that were more illegal and potent than heavy narcotic drugs. There was a power tool lying next to them and with the bloodied hands they presented with a few fingers missing, Natsu could guess how it was used. The long-haired man named Totomaru seemed to have the bones in his foot turned to dust with a clamp that would slowly squeeze it, while the blind man Aria's torso was cut in painful, yet non lethal, areas and had something sticking out of his lungs.
Kyoka had really put some work into them for information, so the fact that they didn't give up anything more brought a lot to question-was it because of loyalty, or fear?
If fear was the case, what better way to battle it than with even more.
Natsu pulled some clean gloves on and picked up a medium sized device from the table where the needles and other instruments of torture lay before turning to the blind man. The other guy seemed too far gone to be able to answer him even if he wanted, and with good reason if his permanently damaged foot was anything to go by.
Seeing dazed dark eyes look back at him, Natsu knew he could start.
"END…" The man spoke in a broken voice, holding Natsu's gaze once realization dawned on him. It didn't matter. Before the man could blink, he shoved the sharp wedge like end of the tool into the soft tissue just above the man's knee, not stopping even as he shook and screamed with pain until it was all the way in. Natsu grunted as he twisted it slightly, trying to push the device under the kneecap.
When the man's crying quieted down Natsu started interrogating. "Is Jose connected with Acnologia?" He asked in a deep, dark voice.
The man huffed and heaved, and after a minute of no answer, Natsu decided to continue on. At the end of the device held a wheel handle that he grabbed onto. Turning it made the man scream louder than before as the device slowly separated the joint of his bones in his knee from each other. After two more excruciating turns, he finally spoke.
"Yes! Yes, they're partners! J-Jose asked us to kidnap the girl and transport her with Acnologia to one of his c-connections in the p-prostitution ring."
"Where is Acnologia? What does he want from me?"
"…"
Natsu turned the wheel halfway, hearing the disgusting pop of his leg being torn from the socket before he stopped. "Ahhhhgggh! I-I swear! I don't k-know anything else!" He cried, "I only know about my mission for the Heartifilia girl." Staring at the man as sweat rolled profusely down his shaking body as he cried in pain, Natsu decided after pinning his dark, emotionless gaze on the man, that he was telling the truth.
Natsu looked back to the others, taking in the blank gaze of Jellal, who had to witness this type of thing all day, Kyoka who seemed beyond pleased—perhaps a little inappropriately so, and Gildarts, who looked a little green. Natsu then signaled for Jellal to follow him out.
"Keep them alive one more day to see if they tell anything else, after that kill them any way you like," he said to Kyoka on his way out.
She licked her lips at the prospect, "My pleasure."
Heading out of the room with Jellal on his heels, Natsu started up a discussion, Lamy's whereabouts on his mind. "Just like Gramps warned. Acnologia partnered up with the Heartifilia's."
"That's the thing," Jellal said, signaling a few workers to hand him some papers that needed to go to Lamy assuming she was the first person Natsu would be seeing after meeting with himself. "The Heartfilia's hand in all of this seems beyond odd. Why would Jude put his daughter through all of this?" Giving back a sheet he didn't need to someone along the way, he continued on with his theory. "As cold hearted a son of a bitch as Jude is, he wouldn't ruin the Heartifilia reputation by whoring his daughter out. He can make a lot more money off of her in other ways."
Natsu gave an emotionless snort, barely giving a glance towards Torafuzar yelling at a lackey and shaking him around, before turning down a barely lit corridor away from the main hustle and bustle of the building. "I wouldn't put it past him. From what we could tell, he was terrible to Lucy." The acknowledgement made him realize that Lucy had dealt with him as well as she had because she had a lifetime of experience under her belt. He frowned a little.
"True, but do you think he would put his company on the line by losing his only heir? The man's too egotistical to allow someone to take over that wasn't his blood. He needs to marry her off, and use it to further his ends."
"Same difference, he was still whoring her out." Natsu said, conveniently dismissing the fact she was going to be his wife. "Just in the way rich aristocrats do it." Natsu gave the man a look as he stopped at the end of the hall, opening up the only door.
Jellal's silence was his agreement.
The door opened onto an almost completely dark room, only lit up by dozens of computer screens from laptops to desktops to 70-inch monitors. The computers that drew light into the room made it seem small, but the space was actually as large as the main area.
A few people, bedraggled and sullen, were typing away endlessly on the devices but no one stood out more than the vibrant rabbit-like girl shrieking and yelling as she used a whole lane of computers at once.
"Lamy."
Suddenly halting her exuberance, the girl twisted towards her visitors, gawking at them for an uncomfortable second, the likes of which showed in Jellal's uncharacteristic fidgeting, before she charged.
Jellal shifted unsteadily, hoping he wasn't her target, and luckily for him, he wasn't.
"Natsu!" She yelled, gripping on to the man as she wrapped her body around him, snuggling her face into his chest.
"Lamy."
Did he say rabbit-like? He meant rodent.
The girl ceased her rubbing up and down on him, knowing that tone a mile away as she slowly climbed down his muscular frame, sweating nervously. But feeling herself slide down him, she forgot his foreboding tone and remembered the hunk-a-hunk-a man she was holding onto! "Oh~ Natsu-sama! END-sama! I've missed you and your handsome presence!"
"Lamy!" Jellal yelled, trying to get through to the girl. Looking at the others in the room-not even glancing their way-he wasn't surprised, despite the show she was putting on. Working with a girl who wore bunny ears and slippers to work in a highly dangerous business with highly dangerous characters must give them a high weird tolerance.
Though as he watched her now, he understood why many people would argue she was the most dangerous one of them all. Lamy scared any man she came in contact so badly they swore to keep a 50 mile radius from her.
The girl didn't listen to him, continuing to fervently hump Natsu's leg and send him praises, drool forming at her lips as she took the man in with wandering hands, hearts seemingly forming in her eyes.
It was when her gaze had slowly wandered up from the low V in his tight shirt in her spiel about his delicious scent (Lucy seemed to not be the only one affected) that smelled even better with the slight mix of fresh blood that wafted around him, until her gaze landed on his eyes that she realized she'd landed in hot shit.
His deep green eyes, emotionless most of the time even on her most annoying tirades, were sparkling dangerously at her. That look pinned her, making her shake right down to her slippers.
"Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Sorry!" Lamy jumped away from the man, bowing repetitively to earn his forgiveness.
Natsu closed his eyes away from the girl while clenching his jaw trying to gather himself. "Lamy, did you find anything new from the videos?"
Lamy stopped mid bow at the sound of her boss's voice, giving a worried glance to Jellal silently asking him how she should proceed.
He only gave her look as if to say, 'with caution.'
Clearing her throat, the girl ran back down the short steps from the entrance to her computers and then proceeded to pull up a few screens. The videos played in silence with certain scenes screenshot to show importance on other monitors.
"This." Lamy directed a silly bunny pointer toward a screenshot showing Acnologia holding a sign, black letters on a white canvas.
Now we no longer have competition…It's time for us to reclaim our position at the top of Fiore.
Natsu tsked at that, looking with cold eyes at the scene of a video he had watched obsessively over and over to understand what happened to his father.
"This message leads us to believe that Acnologia wants to dethrone you and take over your father's legacy." Natsu crossed his arms thinking that was obvious enough. "But we don't think he's with Heartifilia in this. At least not Jude directly." Lamy zoomed into the canvas Acnologia was holding. "His wording seems a little too on the nose, right? 'Competition'…'top of Fiore'…who else could that be? We even checked the coding when we first got the video and the IP address was hidden but easy enough to find came from the Heartifilia household."
Lamy paced back in forth waving around her pointer as she continued talking. Jellal's eyes slowly widened as he saw where she was going with this, chancing a glance at Natsu to see his own gaze was narrowed in consternation.
"This was the initial suspicion we had of it being Jude who had your father right?" Lamy continued, looking at Natsu once to see him glaring at the screen, before his heated eyes fell back on her.
"And what are you trying to say?"
Scratching the back of her head, Lamy finished nervously. "Well we checked the IP again and realized that even though, yes it was from the Heartifilia IP address, it couldn't have come from Jude's main computer let alone his office wifi. The access to it was too easy to break and the computer we found it under had nothing on it but the videos. Its memory was wiped and it hadn't been in use since the last video. Sure, that could just be because they knew we would go looking and used a burner device to get rid of later, but everything until then had been too obviously pointing at Jude being the culprit. Why not have Jude's own computer be in use or one directly under his router?"
Lamy turned back to the computer to pull up all of the evidence they had against Jude. Simple stuff like fraudulent money, people going to his company with information, even the dead mailman that had sender information from the Heartifilia home etc. "Why would they put so much effort in hiding where your father was or not showing someone working directly with Jude but give us so much evidence at it being Jude who was behind your father's death? It doesn't add up."
Jellal looked towards Natsu to see his reaction. If Lamy's theory was true, this went deeper than they all thought.
Natsu didn't react outwardly, to the surprise of Jellal and even Lamy. "I have been considering this."
Jellal couldn't hold back his surprise. "So, you kidnapped the Heartifilia girl even knowing her father might not have been behind what happened to Igneel?"
Natsu gave him a look that read to anyone that the man needed to check his tone. Once Jellal cleared his throat in apology, Natsu finally answered his question. "Not quite. I thought about it last week, the morning after I got Lucy. I watched the video again myself and thought it was too obvious. There were too many things pointing to Jude despite how meticulous they were to keep us from seeing their pathway up until my father's death. Everything was laid out pointing Jude's way. I considered the fact that he wanted to mock me. He's an arrogant son of a bitch, like you said, but…he's not stupid. Jude wouldn't put so much evidence of himself being a part of a murder, no matter how much he meddles in gang territory with his money from time to time. It would put too much heat on him, and of course, nothing can smudge the family name."
"So, if you thought that, why did you go back for the girl?" Jellal asked.
Lamy quirked her head up, quite interested, too.
"Because it was, and still is, a hunch. Jude still has a hand in this somewhere; he didn't disparage the money he was making from my father's death. And marrying Lucy will still benefit my father's company to the max. I can't pass that up, if only for my father." Natsu neglected to tell them he'd determined Lucy's life would be in danger if it was true that her father didn't have to do with the grand scheme of things, and the kidnappers found out later that she wasn't an old man's sex slave.
"Well, that's not all." Lamy puckered her lips, swaying her body in a drunken manner that was consistent with her character as she pulled up another screen shot on the monitor.
This one was of the end of the second video and first. The blank black screen cut to just white letters that asked, "What do you want?"
What did he want?
"The emphasis on this could be the real deciding factor on who is truly behind all of this."
What do you want?
What do you want?
"What do you want?" A woman's voice rang through Natsu's head. A memory his brain worked to form but couldn't pull forward.
Throwing his cap off his head, Natsu pulled his fingers through his hair in frustration.
"Obviously it's fucking Acnologia, we just need to figure out how we can bring justice to the motherfucker." Natsu growled. He sighed deeply, holding onto the railing in front of him as he tried to calm himself.
"Yes, I agree with Natsu." Jellal stated, watching the man and feeling slightly surprised he didn't go off the rail as they realized they were back to square one. "Whether or not Jude is a part of your dad's death, with all the hell we've been raising, including the news that you're with his daughter—which if he doesn't find out from the paparazzi, that interview you have with Fiore Weekly next week with Lucy will spread worldwide—we're sure to get contact from him soon. Acnologia too. We'll move forward from there."
Natsu sighed, gripping the railing until his knuckles turned white. He leaned over, his pink spikes flopping back to their normal style, the full effect showing as he stood straight. Lamy's rare serious façade disappeared like a light as she gazed at him. "Oh Natsu-sama!"
Before the girl could leap into Natsu's arms again, Jellal grabbed her in the nick of time. The girl may not be able to read the atmosphere but Jellal knew, Natsu was not in the presence of mind to be tried if the torrent of emotions shown in his gaze was anything to go by. He was still surprised the man didn't do anything earlier when Lamy acted like this.
She always acted like this with Natsu, hell, with any handsome man that came her way, and usually barely withheld when a gun was pointed at her from her victim. Unlike usual, Natsu calmly reacted to her disposition, although if his look after she called him that name was anything to go by, if she didn't let go soon enough Natsu would use his weapon for more than to simply threaten her.
Unfortunately for Jellal, he was also a handsome man. And if the excited gasp pulled from the tiny girl was a sign, she recognized that fact.
"Oh Jellal! If you wanted me, you just had to say so!" Lamy squealed, lewdly rubbing her scrawny prepubertal-like body on him.
Jellal felt like crying, although his face held nothing but barely held back ire.
"Lamy, give me the keys to one of the new cars."
Perking up at the sound of her boss's voice, Lamy finally detached from Jellal. "Right on it!" She said as she slunk off. She twirled back to them right before disappearing to snatch the papers Jellal had brought for her out of his hands with a giggle.
"Thanks boss." Jellal sighed, still feeling goosebumps and a queasy stomach from where the creepy as hell girl touched him.
Natsu pulled up his sleeves, seemingly gotten himself together. "When's Erza coming back?"
"Not sure yet." Jellal righted himself as well. "She's still studying to take over her father's firm at that big old Law School she picked halfway across the globe."
Natsu could hear the sadness in his voice.
"She's going to come for a visit soon though. Maybe within a month or two."
The pink haired man nodded, taking one last look at the computer screens, especially the ones of Acnologia, before turning away. Walking down the three steps from the door, Natsu ventured further into the darkness away from the glowing lights of the computers. Here, he could hear the echo of Jellal's voice, noting that the man followed him further.
"You know, Makarov doesn't agree with you holding onto Lucy for revenge."
Natsu could no longer see Jellal, but it didn't affect him. His senses were significantly heightened compared to others. His years of training with the best of the best martial artists and monks helped him strengthen them and realize that he didn't always need his eyes to see.
If his mood wasn't so sour, he'd laugh at the fact that Jellal had wandered off in the complete wrong direction as he tried to talk to him.
"He's going to have to get over it." Natsu stopped. Reaching his hand up without hesitation as easy as if he were in a well lit room, he flicked his hand against a pillar on the wall.
Ceiling lights flickered on, one, two, three, down a track going on almost endlessly, illuminating expensive car after car like a gallery.
Jellal, realizing he was one step from tripping over a car and was nowhere near his boss hid his embarrassment like only he could.
The disturbed groans and sounds of the other forgotten patrons of the room came to Jellal's ear and he thought amusedly that if they were this upset about the lights being turned on that perhaps he should institute mandatory outside time.
"Here ya go!" Lamy suddenly jumped in front of their boss out of nowhere, dangling a shiny set of keys in her hands in front of him.
Natsu grabbed them, giving her no attention as she shot heart eyes at him.
He walked towards the vehicle she'd picked out, arching his brow at Lamy's choice: it wasn't half as bad or flashy as he thought she would make it.
"Later J, tell me if anything new comes up immediately." Turning a steady gaze to the man he continued, "Before you tell Erza."
Jellal cleared his throat, placing his hands in his pockets.
The blue haired man watched Natsu stroll up to one of the new shipments from yesterday. It's acquired license plates and numbers just 'drafted' that day. It was a beautiful Audi R8 Spyder in all black. A little less ostentatious compared to what Natsu normally drove.
"You don't want someone to drive you back Natsu?" Jellal offered, noticing Natsu's slightly green pallor as he pulled out a bottle of pills well known to all his associates. These weren't even on the market yet, but regular motion sickness pills metabolized too quickly in Natsu's stomach. "I could even do it if you want. I just need to make sure they got the boxes on the trucks for shipments okay."
"I have a few errands to run after I go to the office. It's easier if I drive." Natsu said before turning on the ignition.
Jellal was a guy, and like most, the beautiful purr of the engine was a delightful sound to his ears, making a small shiver go down his spine as is roared. He noted to himself to give that car a run after Natsu was done with it. The wide range of cars at the boss's feet something he would have been wholly jealous of Natsu for if not for the perks of being Natsu's right hand man, allowing him to do routine 'safety checks.'
"Jelly-kun, your muscles look rather nice today. You know I have some drugs I manufactured that could make you fill out even more!" Lamy slinked towards him as she slowly pulled out a syringe.
Jellal gulped, remembering suddenly that she was also head of research for new drugs and that she was always looking for a test subject.
His heels turned as soon as he saw the needle, but he wasn't quick enough.
"Ahahahaha!" The girl squealed, landing on her next victims back.
AN: I thought I'd go with more storyline this chapter what did you guys think? We have a little more incite on the business that Natsu's father left behind for him, well at least the seedy one. Some new characters like Kyouka and Lamy. What did you guys think about those two? Lamy scares me the most even though Kyouka's the sadistic one.
Next chapter we will have what was once on the horizon come to the forefront, if you catch my drift. Actually I'm thinking of releasing two chapters at once so I hope you guys like that. Thank you guys for continuing to read and your sweet reviews. It really warms my heart!
Hearts as always to my beta!
