"Why didn't you destroy those shards when you had it? You stole those from us to make us remember our true memories." Hikari questioned. It was strange that they were supposed to destroy the shards that the figure now currently possess.
"You mean that amethyst shard and the fading shard? They originally contained the memories of your past. Every single shard records every single person's lives in that world. However, these shards absorbed the memories of the future from the 'future' shards and has overwritten some details of the memory which they can only be retrieved if these future memories are removed. When the god knew about this, she manipulated the shards by wrapping the memories of both shards. The amethyst shard was supposed to be contain memories of Tairitsu's past while the fading shard contained memories of Hikari's past. With the god's complications of the shards, it would be easier if I removed all memories of the future from both shards and combined them together." The figure explained the girls' situation. To 'him', the girls must and deserve to know everything that is happening. For their second chance to truly come, they must overcome their fate.
"Before we start searching for the shards, what do we call you? You have no name, but you look so much like Alexandar… Are you sure you aren't him?" Tairitsu asked. It would be weird to call the 'him' some "god" or "the world".
"Why not call him we call him as Alexandar if he doesn't intend on naming himself?" Hikari proposed.
"I… don't mind…" Alexandar hesitated. To him, it doesn't feel right to be assume another person's identity or name because he isn't. He felt like he was merely a fake just being called that. However, it was his own fault for picking such a form. He didn't have an idea of how he should look like and chose this form that he preferred.
They started the search at the church of the happiness. While Hikari has told Tairitsu her encounters with the light, Tairitsu never thought how distracting those shards are. These shards initially repelled itself away from her. But she raised her arm, as if commanding the shards to come to her. The shards slowly approached the girl. When she touched it, she felt these shards as her own. This is…
"Sophia, would you like to fly this kite with me?" The girl in the blue dress called her. From what Tairitsu knew, this girl was her sister.
"But… I don't know how to fly one" Tairit- no, Sophia answered. Tairitsu did not intend to speak those words. She was forced to speak. She quickly caught on to the fact that this was part of a memory for her past which she was seeing from Sophia's perspective. Rather than being disturbed, Tairitsu continued to observe.
"I know how! I can teach you one!" The girl offered. This girl knew how to fly a kite by reading many books and to also write one. It shouldn't be a surprise for her.
They then flew the kite. The white dressed girl (Sophia) quickly mastered on flying kites before she ran off with her younger sister, attempting to pull tricks with the kites.
The memory ends here. Tairitsu returned to her senses. This feeling she felt… it was very different from every other memory she witnessed. She felt happy and glad. It was very reliving. Was this what she was looking for all this time? Was she hoping to find peace after every single conflict shard she saw? Pain, betrayal, envy, death, suffering, and decay was all she knew. But she never knew was is good or what was truly 'perfect'. Sophia pursued and forced 'perfection', Tairitsu only knew the 'bad' while seeking the 'good'. When she remembered how she wasted her own life, she realized that she is like Hikari. Hikari almost wasted her own life by blindly seeking happiness. She too blindly wasted her own life by seeking 'perfection'. Was destroying this world worth it? Will she waste her second chance that was given to her?
Second chance to live
Second chance to be with Hikari
Second chance to not selfishly create a 'perfect' life
Second chance to fix everything she made a mess back then
The time to think about her life is over. This shard was not what she was looking to destroy. She kept it as she has finally found something 'good'.
The search nearly ended with no 'future' shards found. When they regrouped, they only found the 'happy' memories and shards. As expected of the church of happiness, Tairitsu understood how bad it had led Hikari to nearly being numb as she felt those overwhelming happy memories herself. As they entered the main hall, the stained glass shined the brightest light which blinds the trio. They were taken to another memory.
A woman who walked into this very same church was sitting down, wondering, and wondering for a long time.
"How many times did it happen?" She asked herself. She predicted every single event well. She knew what was going to happen. Although there were different variations, in the end, everything was the same.
Past, Present and Future. The shards should contain only the past and record the present memories. There shouldn't be future memories. But these shards act as if they are from the past. She looked around finding for any 'strange' shards. She then found a very strange shard. This shard is said to grant godhood when one possessed it. One to even rule it whoever wishes it to be. When she touches it, she immediately learnt its name and its truth. The truth that she decides to not change.
"The Beyond, grant me the power of the anomaly to alternate fate forever!"
Before the memory could continue, the shard immediately broke apart. Hikari, Tairitsu and 'Alexandar' went back to their senses as they saw the same woman from the memory.
"I won't let you see these memories" She angrily said. She immediately started to attack the girls, only for 'Alexandar' to block the attack. From this attack, it was too powerful. It was not even the power of the anomaly, but it was enough to kill the girls. There could be only one person or being that can perform such a thing. 'Alexandar' opened his eyes as he realized who could it be.
"Oh no, not you… you are the god of Arcaea!"
A/N: The type of church of the church of happiness is a cathedral. This cathedral basically looks like what you see in chapter 3 in world mode. The church of happiness only contained shards that has 'happy' and 'good' shards which Hikari was in during the events of Eternal Core and Luminous Sky. The girls will revisit the labyrinth of despair where Tairitsu was during Eternal Core and Vicious Labyrinth.
The next chapter will be a fight between the god of Arcaea against Hikari, Tairitsu and 'Alexandar'. This is not going to be good for them because the god is after the girls' lives.
B-2 preview: It's been a while since she found out her tragic fate of herself... alone. In this empty world she lives in, not everything is known to her. She wishes to find her 'brother' once more to find out what she was like, what she was before she died. What will she find in the end?
