Hikari was alone. Standing over a body of a deceased girl that she was very familiar with. She kneeled and cried. She promised that she would do this together with her. She even made a deal with him after he was gone. However, she failed just that. She killed her.

However, she did not, at least not instantaneously. The said girl woke up. Hikari was relieved. She was still alive. At least she could still have her second chance to live with her. However, her words didn't give her any assurance.

"Are you happy with this?" The girl said. She wasn't happy but rather, looked very pissed.
"What?" Hikari questioned her. She didn't get it.
"You got your revenge. I killed you. So, you avenged yourself by killing me. Quite fitting don't you think?"
"No… I didn't mean it…"
"So did I… guess we really couldn't exist… have fun being alone in this world that you can rule to yourself." The girl then vanished
"No… don't leave me… please… DON-"

Hikari woke up. She was in a shelter with Tairitsu and 'Alexandar' on an empty land. Guess they were defeated in the fight against that god of Arcaea but somehow escaped from this place. But what was that dream? It… felt so real. More real than seeing a memory through a shard.

"Are you alright?" 'Alexandar' asked. He was glad to finally have her awake. In the meantime, Tairitsu woke up earlier and recalled her experience with that god. She still doesn't understand why the god tried to kill her and Hikari. True, she tried to destroy this world before. Perhaps this is what she meant. But she wasn't convinced why she would she want to defeat her to save themselves, when there was no point in life in this world. If this is what this 'second chance' meant, then she should just throw it away.

But thinking about it kept reminding her about the regret she felt in her past life. She only spent with Hikari in such a short time. If she takes this second chance, they would be together for a long time, or rather, forever should they wish it. But it's not just Hikari, Alexandar is here too. Perhaps she can have another chance to be with Alexandar again. She can fix everything that she destroyed. But…

Does she deserve her second chance?

She selfishly took her friend's life before. Even if she has taken her penance, she has nearly done it again. She did not try to even consider trying to talk her problems with her and blatantly hurt her. So much hurt that she has done…

Tairitsu stopped in her thoughts as she finally noticed that Hikari woke up.

So, it's time for discussion, before they could continue in this journey to find these 'future' shards, they have more questions, specifically directed at Alexandar.

"That god… what do you know of that god? We need to know more of that god because we will meet her again soon."

"I do not know of her name, but she was once like you two before she became that god. Like you, she had the power of the anomaly to influence this world. She was the first one to ever exist in Arcaea. Alone, she wanted to find others who ended up in this world too. But in her quest to do so, she kept seeing memories through shards. She kept them as their only clues to find them. However, overtime, she became obsessed with collecting these shards. Until she found this shard she called it 'The Beyond'. That was when she used it to become the god of this world."

"What exactly is 'The Beyond'? She said it was at 'the end' of Arcaea. But what does that mean?"

"The Beyond is an anomalous shard that reveals everything and anything that it exists. Normally, shards should only contain past memories from your past life or this world while it records the present memories like at this very moment. You have seen for yourself that there are 'Future' memories that shouldn't exist. They cause anomalies to influence the future of this world when these memories are seen by the ones who has the power of anomaly, such as you. Because 'Future memories' existed, they can cause this world to be indecisive about its Future. Therefore, 'The Beyond' exists to correct this by preventing them to influence the future."

"There is something more towards 'The Beyond' isn't it. The god used it to defeat us."

"That's right, 'The Beyond' altered that fate of your attacks landing on her by simply changing into her very own attack landing on yourselves. She doesn't have to physically possess it to control its power. However, you need to hear this: 'The Beyond' grants its controller the knowledge of the truth of this world, something that even I do not know myself too. Lastly…"

The discussion continued, after listening to Alexandar, they finally understood how dire their situation was. However, questions now the questions are no longer focused on the god or the shard. Now, they need to know more about him. Back then, he only introduced himself. However, there was more towards him that made him want to help the girls.

"Why do you act like him?"

"Him? Who are you referring to?"

"Alexandar, we only called you that because you looked like him, but you start to even behave like him. You seem far too concerned for our well-being. As if you want to make up to us. Are you really not Alexandar?"

"…No I told you before that I was a part of this world before I was split apart. I am not sure why I look like him, but maybe your imagination has made me took on this form…"

"There is more to this isn't it? Even if you aren't him, even if you claim to a shard, a fragment, or a memory, there must be a reason why you took on him. You were watching us before we met, correct?"

Alexandar kept silent. Suddenly, he remembered something, something that wasn't his, but is him.

(Requirement: Unlock and read B-3)

He was facing against another man. This man has called him here for a simple talk. But he knew far too well for it to be a 'simple' talk. It was serious. He couldn't remember exactly what happened. However, he remembered this too well:

"This was your fault."
"You lost everything that mattered to you."
"If you could turn back time, would you have prevented this?

"Hikari…Sophia… I'm sorry…" Alexandar muttered. He frowned on this memory he remembered. He returned to his senses as he realizes he was still in a middle of a conversation with Hikari and Tairitsu. Perhaps, it's time to be honest.

"I… will tell you everything I know. No, I am not Alexandar. You may think like I am him, but I am merely a native of this world. Before that god even existed, I still exist in this world as a part of Arcaea until a mere accident caused by you two happened that split me up. However, my free will was given to me by someone…"

Hikari and Tairitsu listened and now understood about him completely. Now, that they have finished asking questions, they need to start planning for their next route.

"We couldn't find any 'Future' shards in the Church of Happiness, but what made it worse is that we encountered the god when we were leaving this place. To tell the truth, the 'Future' shards should be somewhere within places where an Anomaly has taken place before. Places that have split apart your doomed fate to replace with this current moment. If the church of happiness does not have any shards we look for, perhaps, maybe, the Labyrinth of Despair would have at least one we are looking for." Alexandar proposed his plan.

"The Labyrinth of Despair… I hate it… I despise it…" Tairitsu gritted. She certainly does not want to go back to that horrible place. That place has turned her into a monster, she lost everything she had hoped for. When she met Hikari and 'Alexandar' in this world, she felt that her hopes were regained. But would these hopes betray her again?

Noticing Tairitsu spacing out, Hikari tapped her shoulder. When she heard of that place, Hikari expected Tairitsu to hesitate to agree going to that place.

"Don't worry, this time you will not be alone. We will be there together with you throughout our visit there." Hikari patted her. The hesitation to revisit that dreaded place affected her so bad. What if she lost everything that mattered to her once again? She is tired. She is afraid. But… if they will be together, then… she will place her faith in them.

A/N: Well, not much plot progression from this chapter. However, it is important. Hikari and Tairitsu's friendship is funny. They care for each other; however, they still did not let go for their past. Tairitsu, feels guilty for what she has done to Hikari in the past. She trusts her due to her previous friendship, or was it to guilt? Not just that, she is rather conflicted into living in Arcaea. Part of her tells her to just destroy it and die. However, the other part of her feels that it would be a waste to fix her relationship with Hikari and take the second chance of life with her. As for Hikari, it has something to do with her dream.

Alexandar is an interesting case. He claimed to be not Alexandar himself, however, he basically mimicked him. Why is it that so? This will be covered when a certain chapter is out (which isn't far too away).

Next chapter, the trio will make their way to the Labyrinth of Despair. Everything that I have foreshadowed will start to make sense.
