Chapter 13
Ya'll enjoy.
Tik. Tok. Tik. Tok. Tik. Tok.
If the earth could stand still, Orihime would wish for it to happen. The last few months of her pregnancy were like a long bright summer's day. Truly, she has been spoiled by her new family. Every day, she learned something new about the Kurosaki's.
How Mr. Kurosaki Isshin liked to set aside quality time with his wife, and that in their secret time he would let Masaki pluck his nose hairs.
That Kurosaki Masaki was crazy about perfumes and always dreamed about having her own perfumery somewhere in the kingdom. She had a secret room filled with different substances, searching for the perfect perfume.
When there was a soccer match, Karin would be the first to reserve tickets, and she also learned that Karin had a secret boyfriend, presumably a soccer player.
And how Yuzu was addicted to breakfast. It was her favorite meal of the day because she believed a good breakfast would set the tone of the day. A good meal equals a good day.
Then there was Kurosaki Ichigo. The man she was to wed, today! A man of great character, with some flaws when it came to sharing his feelings and being clear about them. But she had discovered that the man she so dearly loved had a weak spot for his sisters, which reminded her of Sora.
It brought Orihime great joy to see how the Kurosaki siblings were interacting. Sometimes it was bickering, but most of the time their conversations and interactions ended up in laughter. All this happiness filled her heart, and once again the doubt came.
Am I allowed to be this happy?
Her thought was soon disrupted as Momo came in together with Isane. "Inoue-sama, today is your wedding day! You must be so excited." Momo said while carrying in the wedding gown designed especially for this occasion.
"I just hope I won't get hungry during the ceremony. This little guy gets very grumpy if I don't eat on time." She pushed herself off the chair and waddled to the chair in front of the baby pink vanity table. Once she was seated, she took out a black pouch out of her drawer and prepared an injection. Since coming from the hospital, she had to be injected every day with a special serum.
It was a dark green liquid that initially freaked her out when seeing it for the first time, but after a while she became adjusted to the process. She made sure to disinfect her arm before letting Isane jab the needle in her arm.
"Soon you won't need to take this injection anymore, Inoue-san." Isane comforted her, rubbing her shoulder in the process. "I know. Just a few more days and he will be here." A long exhale came from Orihime as Momo and Isane continued preparing Orihime for her big day.
It was a small wedding with only the family present. Not even Unohana or Rangiku were present because it was supposed to be a secret wedding for the kingdom. Orihime didn't mind and understood the reason for the wedding being small, but Ichigo, on the other hand, was a bit apprehensive about the entire situation.
He truly loved Orihime, and he knew that she would be the only woman he would marry his entire life. How could he settle for a small wedding? His mother, on the other hand, assured him that he can always give a grand ceremony for their 5-year wedding anniversary.
Only because Orihime and his future son were in danger, he allowed himself to have a small wedding. And here they are.
The sun was shining bright. It's golden rays beautifully turning the field golden yellow. The clouds beautifully painted against the sky with a pink glow. It was a golden hour and all guests were seated in the beautiful weed field. The Kurosaki family had a piece of land far away from the urban area and decided it would be the perfect place to wed their son and daughter-in-law.
Ichigo was now standing at the front of the aisle, a scowl resting on his face. The reason for the scowl was mainly his dad who decided to surprise him with one of his goofy attacks before the ceremony, and also, he was the one to walk Inoue down the aisle.
And now the orange haired male was scowling like there was no tomorrow. Glaring at the audience. Just when he was about to scan his surroundings, the piano sounds filled the air with light tones that was the intro to their new life together.
His signature scowl was wiped off his face when he saw his father walking in the field together with the most beautiful damsel in the entire kingdom. No, he was wrong. She was the most beautiful female in the entire world.
She was wearing a beautiful white A-line dress. Her see through sleeves made of a beautiful beige chiffon, matching her skin tone. The dress itself was made of tule in layers, from her stomach down to her ankles, with glitters woven into the fabric.
Her hair was in a beautiful high bun, and the hair inside the bun were arranged in such a way that it looked like roses. The bun was decorated with little golden and blue rhinestones, matching her pins that were holding the bun up. It were the pins she received from her late brother.
The smile she wore on her lips was dazzling, and the pink lipstick on her lips complimented her face even more. It brought a faint blush to Ichigo's face, who was now trying to keep himself together.
Together with Isshin, the female walked nervously down the aisle. But her nervousness soon faded when she laid her eyes on the male in front of her.
Kurosaki Ichigo was clothed in a beautiful marine blue suit, with a navy tie. The golden Kurosaki emblem pinned on the right side of his chest. The suit bringing out his beautiful form. His large chest, his well-formed waist and his strong thighs. The way his intense eyes were upon her brought Orihime in a daze. She could feel herself having trouble swallowing.
Isshin snickered as he noticed the way his son and daughter-in-law were checking each other out. He broke Ichigo's gaze by whispering in his ear, "Don't make my beautiful daughter cry."
Orihime thanked Isshin for walking her down the aisle before joining Ichigo. "You look… stunning, Orihime." Ichigo remarked, his eyes now on the priest in front of them. A soft pink appeared on her cheeks as she nodded and leaned into Ichigo. "You don't look so bad yourself. I assume this is a limited edition special?"
Ichigo chuckled before they both returned their attention to the priest.
'Welcome, loved ones. We are gathered here today to join Kurosaki Ichigo and Inoue Orihime in holy matrimony. I believe everyone present is in favour of this marriage. But I'm just asking this in case. If there's anyone against this marriage, speak now or hold forever your peace."
The audience looked at each other. No one making any sound.
"I see that as a no. Well, let's move on." The priest then moved on to the vows, where Ichigo was the one who started first.
For God, I, Kurosaki Ichigo, take you, Inoue Orihime, to be my wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death.
While Ichigo was saying his vows, he could feel his heart in his throat. The woman in front of him changed his life in the last few months, and he couldn't be any luckier. He slowly slid on the ring on her finger while finishing his vows.
In the name of God, I, Inoue Orihime, take you, Kurosaki Ichigo, to be my wife. To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death.
They both looked at each other while Orihime took Ichigo's hand, sliding the ring on his finger and giving it a little squeeze.
"By the power vested in me by God, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss your bride."
The whole crowd ended up cheering as Ichigo pulled Orihime by her waist into him, supporting her back with his right hand. He pressed his lips unto hers as she soon followed his lead, kissing him deeply.
"Yuzu, make sure to close your eyes!"Karin yelled to Yuzu, who was now giggling, photographing the memorable moment. Isshin of course ended up with tears in his eyes, as Masaki was comforting him, wiping away a tear herself.
It was as if the yelling of the Kurosaki family couldn't even be heard by the couple. They were immersed into their own little world. Ichigo looked down and Orihme's stomach and gently rubbed the surface.
"I love you." he whispered to Orihime before picking her up and running with her off the field. "ICHIGOOOO" she screamed, a laugh following the scream.
"I'm taking my wife! Don't you dare disturb us." He yelled at his family. Leaving the ceremony with his wife and child.
The sun soon after went down, and Orihime and Ichigo now were alone in the little condo from Ichigo's parents. They had eaten a big meal and now Orihime was relaxing in her nightgown, her legs on the couch as Ichigo was now massaging her feet.
"I feel huge!" She said, groaning as she could feel an uncomfortable sensation emerging from her stomach. "That's because you are huge. The last week, you became even bigger." Ichigo said it jokingly, but there was a hint of worry in his tone.
"Just a few more days, Ishida-kun said. We just got to trust him." She now smiled warmly at her husband and poked his side playfully with her feet. "Can you make me some hot cocoa? I'm suddenly craving it." Ichigo was taken aback by her pokes, but soon after grinned. "Anything for my lovely princess. Be careful on your way to the bathroom."
Orihime simply waved her hand, as a sign that she would be careful, and waddled to the little bathroom. She pulled up her dress and removed her undergarments before taking a place on the seat.
I wonder how our little boy will look like. My stomach is huge, and I heard Ishida-kun say his DNA is altered with something that is found in mutants. I'm truly worried. What if our dear son is a monster…? No Orihime. You can't think like that. He must be a sweet baby and whatever he looks like, you will love him with your whole heart. Kurosaki-kun also said that he will be the most beautiful prince the kingdom has ever seen. Let's trust everyone and be positive.
Hmm, have I always felt so sleepy?
It had been a while since Ichigo heard anything from his wife. He walked with two mugs of hot cocoa in his hands to the door, knocking on the door. "Hime, are you doing okay? You don't want to drink your cocoa cold. It won't be as tasty."
…
No reaction came from the other side. Orihime's husband sighed to himself. He didn't want to freak out on their first night together, but he knew the situation they were in. Orihime's stomach was huge, and he didn't trust it.
Once again, he knocked on the door, this time a bit more forcefully. Again. No answer or reaction coming from the other side. Ichigo began to bang on the door. "Orihime, can you hear me? Orihime!"
Immediately, Ichigo kicked open the door, his eyes widening at the sight. Half of the floor was now covered in dark blood. Orihime laying half with her body on the toilet seat while her feet were smeared in her own blood. The sight looked like a murder scene.
"Hime!" He screamed, as he walked through the blood, making his way to his wife. The way her body was lying on the floor freaked him out. Hands were trembling as he was reaching out to his wife, looking for a pulse. Gently, he placed two fingers on her neck.
Thank God, her pulse is very faint, but it's still there.
It was then if something had hit him. She needed medical attention right away. He swiftly picked her up from the pool of blood, making his way to the hospital.
"We'll get through this, Hime. Don't give up on me."
It was now deep into the night and thick raindrops were ticking against the window. A tall male around the 1.80 cm was leaning against the window, hands in his hair. The shirt he wears being half covered in blood, which drew attention of those who passed by him. Offering him concerning looks. But all that was on his mind was his wife, who he brought in around 5 hours ago.
Here he was, in the middle of the night, alone in a hospital, waiting for this nightmare to end.
Orihime… I can't stop thinking about you. My heart cries and breaks only at the thought of loosing you. My wife, how could this day get such a turn of events. I don't believe that prick of an Ishida. He's acting as if he knows it all. But I'm sure you'll pull through. Hime, do it for our baby, do it for Sora. Do it for me…
A soft sob could be heard from Ichigo. His world was crashing down. A world he never knew was so impacted by the woman he had met on the side of the road. The way she laid there, breathing softly. Her smile changing his heart and her outlook on life infected him and made him wish to become a better person. Not only for her, but also for the title that he had to take on in the future.
"Orihime…" He mumbled softly, the tears streaming down his cheek.
"Oi, Kurosaki." It was a cold voice that called out to him. Ichigo looked up, seeing Toshiro standing beside him. "Toshiro, w-what? H-how?" He stumbled, a shocked look in his eyes. "Your wife is looking for you." Toshiro said calm.
"W-Wife… Orihime?!" Toshiro nodded. "Why don't you go see her?" The tall male ran towards the room as he couldn't believe Toshiro's words. His wife was looking for him. That means she was alive, right? Toshiro watched Ichigo running to the room, a small smile appearing on his lips.
As fast as he could, Ichigo made his way up to the room. Yanking open the door and making his way inside. He was exhausted when he looked around the room, seeing a weak but very much alive Orihime, holding something in her arms.
Her cheeks were red, but her eyes looked sullen, and multiple tubes were coming both out of her arm and back. But what he noticed right away was a bright spark in her eyes. She was happy and excited.
The woman in front of him was in her own little world. She just had eyes for the little being in her arms that moved around with its hand, making soft crying noises. It took a while for Ichigo to realize that the little moving thing in her arms was, in fact, their son.
A little creature that was the reason for them being together. The reason for their lifetime connection.
Ichigo moved to the bed and took a seat beside Orihime, kissing her head before turning his attention to the little pink baby that was screaming and crying its longs out. Their little miracle had bright orange hair and the same eye color as Ichigo. Even his facial features were exact the same as his father.
"He looks like you." Orihime whispered, finally returning from the daze she was in, glancing at her husband. "He's so perfect…"
For some unknown reason, Ichigo found it hard to find the right words. It was as if there were no words to describe what he was feelings. Foreign emotions and feelings erupted in his heart when he looked at the child. Flashbacks from his relationship with Rukia flashed before his eyes. Their confrontation on the balcony. The look of guilt in her eyes.
And then there is the moment where Orihime cried in front of her brother's grave. Ashamed of being pregnant despite not being married. Time flew by and now he realized. He was a dad, despite how it happened, he became the dad of this little baby in the arms of his wife.
"Do you want to hold him?" Orihime whispered softly, feeling a yawn coming her way. "Sure." Ichigo replied, taking over the baby while a nurse was instructing him how to hold the baby.
While holding the baby, he could once again feel the tears fall down. He wished their son looked more like Orihime, but nevertheless he knew that this little person had already stolen his heart.
Orihime watched the interaction between father and son, which pleased her. The delivery went anything but smooth. They were apprehensive to perform a C-section because of the enormous blood loss, but seeing the state she was in, there was no alternative option.
During her operation, it felt as if she was going to lose her life. Her mind was slipping away, and for some reason she could only think back to one particular moment in her life.
[flashback]
SLAM!
The door closed with a firm slam. Only screams could be heard on the other side of the door.
"Don't you dare come here and act like royalty, you false princess!" It was a low voice of a male, probably around his 40s. A loud slap could be heard, following by a body hitting the ground.
"If only they knew… they knew what kind of person you are! I NEVER EVEN LOVED YOU!" The female woman voice screamed back, breaking out in loud crying. I could feel my body tremble. But there he was, pressing me firmly against his side. His gray eyes softening while looking at me.
From behind me, a big shadow appeared. "DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO GO FIND SOME MORE WOMEN? WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE WATCHING THE KID! WE NEED THE MONEY!" The man yelling at the guy who was holding me so tightly reeked of alcohol. His feet touched his ribs, which sent him flying to the other side of the room and I remember crying, loudly. Why was this man being so violent to this person who is keeping me safe.
My protector smiled sadly at. Groaning as he managed to get himself together and return from the floor. Before walking out, he squatted in front of me, rubbing my disheveled hair. "I'll be back. Until then, stay strong, okay?" I nodded while watching him leave. I wanted him to stay, but the situation seemed too dangerous for him to do so. Together with the alcohol stinking man, he left.
This tiny, dark room I'm sitting in is cold. There is nothing warm about this place and I want to leave, but I can't move? The door that was slammed a while ago opens and reveals a woman with hair like mine, but with very pale skin. She looks like a ghost. Her eyes red, only wearing a very thin black nightgown.
Two tiny arms reach out to her. But I did not know that those little arms were mine. I smile at her, but instead of returning my smile, she walks towards me and presses her two hands against my neck. She's trying to strangle me.
"You're nothing but worthless! How dare you look at me like that?!" Her voice was cold, distant and filled with hate. "YOU ARE NOT BETTER THAN ME! IT IS BECAUSE OF ME THAT YOU THRIVED. DON'T GIVE ME THAT SMART LOOK. YOU WILL NEVER BE BETTER. YOU ARE JUST LIKE ME! AAAAHHHH."
Her screams sounded desperate. The pressure around my throat getting stronger than I can feel her feelings of hate and frustration overflowing. It is suffocating me… I can't breathe. The reason for her hostile behavior confusing me, and just like that I can feel myself slipping away.
But then there he is. My savior. Sneakily, he comes up from behind and hits the woman with a bottle and screams and cries. I can hear him pray… he's praying for my wellbeing while rocking my body around…
I can't die like his.
[End flashback]
It was on that very moment that Orihime regained herself and kept repeating: "Survive, Orihime. Survive, survive for Onii-chan."
The good news of baby Kurosaki's birth soon reached the kingdom. All family members were delighted with the new heir and relieved that Orihime survived the heavy delivery. After a week Orihime, Ichigo and their newborn son Kamari were home.
Adjusting to this new life wasn't easy. The two orange lovers had to adjust not only to being parents, but also to being husband and wife. Which didn't always go the way they expected it.
"Hime, you really don't have to worry. The maids are looking after Kamari." Ichigo squeezed his wife's shoulder, who was nervously biting her nails. Their little son caught a little cold, and it was one of the reasons Orihime couldn't sleep well.
"But what if he keeps crying and just wants his mommy? I feel like I am not there for him." She tiredly looked at her husband. "Worrying will not fix anything. Besides, you can't focus on Kamari if you are half rested. It's okay to take some time off as a mother." He reassured her, kissing her forehead.
"Let's go to bed. If you really can't sleep, I don't mind giving one of my massages to you." Ichigo winked, poking Orihime's sides. But he didn't get the reaction from her that he so desperately wanted. Orihime simply sighed and yawned, crawling into the bed. She was worried about their son and exhausted from the nights worrying about him.
Ichigo was worrying about his wife. Her body was still recovering from the heavy operation she went through, and he fully understood that adjusting to a life as a parent was stressful, but as a husband, he was burning inside. Ever since the two were married and sleeping together, it was harder for Ichigo to control his urges to make love to his wife, especially after Orihime becoming the mother of his child. Orihime, on the other hand, seemed totally uninterested in having any sort of sexual physical contact. She would either not react to his advances or she politely refused.
The orange male was still controlling himself, but decided he needed someone to help Orihime, and he knew the perfect person who could help.
Rangiku arrived at the Kurosaki castle with a large smile on her face. Who would've thought that her little nephew needed her help. She was proud that Ichigo came to her rather than to his mother about things like sexual contact. It was something she would never confess, knowing that Masaki wouldn't be very fond of it.
Masaki's half sister was friendly greeted by the guards as she entered the castle. Her appointment with Ichigo was at 11 a.m. and right now, it was 09:30 a.m. It meant that she still had some time to visit her older sister.
As if she owned the place, Rangiku made her way down the halls to Masaki's study, which was in the left tower of the castle. Honestly, she wasn't looking forward to meeting her sister, since she knew she could expect a sneer about her relationship from her, but she needed to congratulate her on the birth of her grandson.
After a few minutes, Rangiku arrived at the door of her half sister's study, the door slightly open. Rangiku wanted to push the door open, but stopped in her tracks as she could hear an unfamiliar voice.
"I looked into it as you requested. She looks clean. Her only sibling passed away, unfortunately. But it does like she has connections to the… " Rangiku scoffed and walked in, her arms crossed over each other as she looked annoyed at Masaki and the male guard.
"I can't believe you paid someone to look into Inoue Orihime." Rangiku eyes her sister, her eyes hardening. "What's your excuse this time? You need to make sure she's not a parasite to your family? Isn't it a little late for that? Ichigo already married her."
Masaki sighed while she takes the documents from the private detective. "Thank you for your hard work. I will take it from here. We'll keep in touch." The large, buff guy with dark brown hair left the study, leaving the two sisters alone.
"Rangiku, I don't have to point out your rudeness, now do I?" Masaki returned the ice-cold look. "My reason of looking into my daughter-in-law is nothing of 'your' business." Masaki wanted to walk to her desk, but Rangiku stopped her. Anger filled Rangiku's eyes.
"I won't let Orihime-chan be treated the same way you treated Gin. She doesn't deserve that, Masaki. Not after all she has been through. Don't you dare turn her into the bad guy, just like you did with Gin!" Rangiku raised her voice against Masaki, in the process still holding Masaki's arm.
The older strawberry blonde pulled her arm away from her sister and shook her head. "Rangiku, you have no idea what you are talking about." Masaki's eyes softened. The way Rangiku was looking out for Orihime warmed her heart.
"Gin and Orihime are two 'very' different cases. Finding out about Gin was just to protect you Ran. You know I never mean any evil." Rangiku wanted to spat in her face that it was just to protect the face of their family, but decided to let it go. Instead, she looked down and saw files spread on the desk. A familiar picture grabbing her attention.
She took the picture and looked curiously at the familiar face on the picture. "O-Orihime?" Masaki didn't intend anyone to see her research, but now that Rangiku was in her study, looking out for her daughter-in-law, she felt that she had to share her findings with her.
"She looks like her, doesn't she?" Rangiku nodded, intently studying the picture. "That woman in the picture was my best friend. Inoue Amari." Masaki's half sister looked shocked at the picture and then back at her sister.
"The reason I am looking into Orihime's background is because of Amari. Their resemblance is uncanny, and I need to know whether Orihime is somehow related to the former royal family and Amari." Rangiku was lost for words when she heard Masaki speak.
"Amari was my best friend and most confidential companion besides Isshin. We were close, just like sisters, but then one day she just disappeared into nothingness and I never got to see her again. It was quite a shock for me to see Orihime at the Unohana estate that day. All the memories of Amari that I had locked away came popping up without permission."
"That's why I need to know if Orihime is related to Amari." Masaki organized the files on her desk, Rangiku still in a daze. "Well, I always said she just looks like a royal princess." Rangiku finally managed to say. It was a whole blow to her as she never heard anything about the Inoue's from Masaki.
Of course Rangiku knew about the history of the Inoue's but never in her life had she thought that her sister was befriended with an Inoue. No one wanted to be associated with the Inoue's. No wonder that Masaki locked away all her memories from her best friend.
"What will you do with this information if she happens to be related to the former royal family? Won't this bring harm to the Kurosaki name? All the nobles know about the Inoues. If the word comes out that Ichigo got a child with an Inoue and that he is the heir of the throne, it will be trouble." Rangiku looked worried at her sister.
"I know that this will bring shame to the name father tried so hard to uphold. But I can't turn a blind eye to Orihime. Especially if she's Amari's daughter." Masaki said calmly. Her words moved Rangiku. She had never seen her older sister stand up for someone else if it was not in advantageous to the Kurosaki name.
"Until I know for sure, we need to keep this between us Ran. Ichigo can never know about this. Do you hear me?"
Rangiku nodded. "Yes Masaki. I'll keep my mouth closed."
"Aizen-sama. There is a report about operation Kōgeki." It was Stark that entered the room. He knelt down as he took out a letter from his pocket. "I have the following to report:
Four weeks ago princess Inoue Orihime now princess Kurosaki Orihime gave birth to a healthy son. His name is Kurosaki Kamari, named after the moonlight. He seems very healthy and strong.
Furthermore, Kurosaki Ichigo and Inoue Orihime are now officially wed, but the nobles in the kingdom seem not to be aware of either the baby or the marriage."
"It looks like the Kurosaki's have a hunch about the origins of our little princess. No worries." Aizen said, a grin appearing on his face while watching Stark.
"Should we act, Aizen-sama? It would be disadvantageous if they find out the princess her true identity." Stark remarked, avoiding Aizen's eyes. It was a pain for him to be the messenger because Aizen could be so unpredictable at times.
"No need. I have a feeling that the Kuchiki's will make their move soon." His usual smirk appeared as he started to chuckle.
"Just wait and see. We'll strike when the time is right."
"Masaki, are you coming to bed? You'll catch a cold if you stay like this." Isshin was standing in the doorway of Masaki's study. His wife had been cooped up in her study all day. He knew that his wife was like a dog. Once she was invested in something, she wouldn't let go. But what she was so invested in, he didn't know because she wouldn't tell him.
"Mmmhm, I'll be right there. I'm almost at my breakthrough moment." She said, while munching on a cookie. Her hair was tied in a knot with her pen. Isshin smiled tenderly at the sigh of his wife. It reminded him of their youthful days.
"Alright, don't be too long." And with that, he left the room.
Masaki was reading files, looking over pictures. Trying to connect the dots of all the information she received. She knew that it would take a lot of time, but she never thought to be looking into so many things.
"This will take forever…" she groaned. It was on that moment that a brown envelope catch her eye. It was one of the pieces she received from the private detective earlier before Rangiku came by. Due to her outburst, she totally forgot about the received documents, She grabbed it from the pile and opened it. It contained a letter with messy handwriting.
I am writing this to you in secret because we had to leave rushing. The village found out our identity, and we are no longer safe here. Last night I came home to a plundered home. I barely could prevent Orihime from seeing the mess. Since the reveal of our heritage, my little sister has been the target of bullies in school. They're cutting her hair off. Dumping her school supplies in the mud at Mr. Ohara's pig's stall.
After analyzing the situation, I came to a conclusion that it was better to move. I am truly sorry for letting you know about this per letter. Our heritage is like a curse that we did not ask for. We're cursed for having Inoue Amari as our mother, who didn't even let us take our father's name because of her pride.
Masaki gasped at the words written in the letter.
Not that the beast was a better person. My memories of them being equally bad. Being part of this notorious family, we have never met feels like life is unfair as it ever can be. As promised, I will never tell Orihime about our family, and I trust that you will do the same. Orihime should he protected at all times!
I'll make sure these dirty royalties will never lay a hand on my sister. We'll disappear once I can pay for a name change.
I'll write you soon.
— Inoue Sora.
It took a while for Masaki to return to her senses. She placed the letter on her desk and immediately went back to the pile, looking through it. "Aha. Found it." It was now a picture of Orihime and Sora in her hands. Masaki noted that Sora looked nothing like his mother, except his eyes. It carried the same kindness as her friend. While Orihime looked exactly as her mother, but her eyes were totally different.
"I-I can't believe it… Orihime is Amar's daughter." Tears filled Masaki's eyes, bringing her back to the memory of 25 years ago.
"Your children can always marry my children. That way, we have your position and their future secured." —
"Oh, Amari-san… what happened to you that your children ended up like this?" The woman wept bitterly through the night while watching the picture of her best friend.
Tadaaaa! The end of the chapter is here. But don't be sad, I'll be returning shortly with another chapter. Also, I noticed that the time and setting of the story is quite unclear. I probably will change the first chapter with the next update, so my lovely readers can finally know where and when this story took place. I have to admit, lately it's been harder for me to advance the story. My writing and writing style is clearly falling short of delivering the experience I would like to deliver. It's been a frustrating journey, but your reviews keep helping me through this journey. So many thanks for all the kind words you all left me.
Please like and leave a review :)
