"So, all ready for the bachelorette party tonight?" asked Miriam video chatting Mei
"Ugh, I just want a cold press" groaned Mei wiping sweat from her brow and rubbing her stomach.
Yes, Mei was due to marry Tyler in the forthcoming weeks, it was a thought that was giving her mixed feelings. Of course, she loved him with all her heart but she didn't expect all of this to happen so suddenly, but unfortunately that's what the situation called for.
"I still can't believe this is my life" groaned Mei over the video call laying on the couch, rubbing her stomach.
"Did you guys learn the sex of your baby yet?" asked Miriam.
"We want to keep it a surprise" smiled Mei.
"So any ideas what you wanna do?" asked Miriam.
"I dunno, maybe go out and get something to eat or something like that...I've never done this before" replied Mei.
"Well, I'm sure we can think of something" smiled Miriam.
Meanwhile, Brendan and Tyler were at work, Brendan was putting jerseys on the displays while Tyler was organizing the sneakers. He was looking on at some pairs of shoes he wanted to buy but they were fairly pricey even with his employee discount.
"Hey Tyler," said Brendan.
"What's up man?" asked Tyler.
"Can you get me some disinfectant?" asked Brendan.
"What for?" asked Tyler.
"Because I had to touch these Toronto jerseys" laughed Brendan.
The store manager who was walking the sales floor overheard Brendan and chuckled and acted like he was kicking dirt at Brendan. Brendan too had a good laugh, his manager like Tyler was all about Toronto sports and all the employees who were either on the side of Toronto, Montreal, or even Vancouver all loved friendly sports banter.
"Hey Tyler," said the manager.
"Yes sir?" asked Tyler.
"You know what Mr. Smith and the Expos have in common?" asked the manager.
"What's that?" asked Tyler.
"They both went to Washington" laughed the manager.
Brendan rolled his eyes and laughed along with Tyler who had a good chuckle at the joke.
"Good one" laughed Tyler.
"Very funny, at least my team's last Stanley Cup wasn't during Beatlemania" laughed Brendan.
"At least we got to see back-to-back World Series wins" retorted Tyler.
"Oh snap, looks like someone might get a promotion" laughed the manager.
Brendan brushed them off and began restocking the displays, Tyler followed suit restocking all the displays he had to as well. It wasn't that busy of a day but there were a fair amount of customers in the store. After some time Brendan and Tyler went on lunch and they both decided to go grab some takeout since they had an hour break.
"So, you know I'm throwing you a bachelor party right?" said Brendan.
"I told you, I don't want a party" replied Tyler.
"Nonsense, this is your last chance as a free man to live it up and besides Miriam said she was throwing a party for Mei" chuckled Brendan.
"Fine, where are we going or what are we doing?" asked Tyler.
"That's the beauty of it! We're going where the wind takes us!" exclaimed Brendan.
"That's what I was afraid you were gonna say" replied Tyler.
Meanwhile, Mei was still on call with Miriam, and Abby and Priya joined the chat as well, they were all discussing what kind of party to throw for Mei.
"Well we can't go drinking," said Miriam.
"Maybe a nice place to read?" asked Priya.
"MALE STRIPPERS!" exclaimed Abby.
"NO!" exclaimed Mei.
"Party pooper," said Abby defeated.
"Alright, I have an idea...we'll all go out and get something to eat...Mei's choice and then how's about some karaoke? Like we used to?" suggested Miriam.
"That'll work," said Priya.
"Heck yeah! Besides, there's this awesome new Mexican place I so wanted to try!" exclaimed Mei.
"Alright so it's decided, we'll go get our taco on and then hit up some karaoke!" exclaimed Miriam
"And then strippers?" asked Abby.
"NO!" Mei and Miriam exclaimed in unison, while Priya said it in her monotone voice.
"I'm only teasing" chuckled Abby.
Back at the store Brendan and Tyler were discussing what they were going to do for Tyler's bachelor party.
"Since the Habs are home tonight playing the Leafs I figure I'll take you to a bar and we'll get tanked, then after that game find another bar and get tanked some more! Whaddya say?" smiled Brendan.
"You know alcohol is what got me in trouble in the first place, right?" asked Tyler.
"To quote the great Homer Simpson...here's to alcohol, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems!" exclaimed Brendan.
Tyler rolled his eyes because he didn't wanna be irresponsible again when consuming alcohol like he was in New York.
The day rolled on and Brendan was looking for a good sports bar to go to to celebrate with Tyler when he found a place called Offsides Bar, Grill and Beer Garden. He had heard of that place before but he had never gone there, mostly because it catered to Toronto sports fans and Brendan wasn't to keen on Toronto sports fans at all.
Mei was getting herself ready to go out with the girls, she was putting on some maternity clothes her mother bought for her, it was nothing flashy or stylish but they were comfy nonetheless.
"Alright mom, I'm gonna go wait for the girls!" said Mei about to leave.
Ming rushed up to her before she could even make it out the door.
"Mei-Mei where are you going?" asked Ming.
"Miriam was throwing me a last-minute bachelorette party" replied Mei
"A bachelorette party? Where? Doing what?" asked Ming inquisitively.
"We're only going out to get something to eat and then we're gonna do karaoke, that's it. Besides I can't stay out late anyways." replied Mei.
"Mei-Mei, I hope you're being honest with me...I don't want anymore scares and I don't want you to panda...please" said Ming holding her daughter's hands.
"Mom, I promise you" replied Mei.
"Okay honey, have fun" replied Ming.
Jin walked into the kitchen overhearing the conversation.
"Remember your bachelorette party?" asked Jin.
"Oh don't even remind me, it was one of the worst nights of my life...all I wanted to do was stay in and have a quiet night reading but noooooooo...my sisters wanted to go out and party, it was so embarrassing" Ming shuddered.
"I mean my bachelor party I had to spend working, I honestly don't know what bug crawled up Sonny that day in Moon Over Shanghai but was he in a mood" replied Jin.
"When wasn't he?" laughed Ming.
"When a random song would come on the radio or some girl who looked like she applied her makeup with a paint roller would give him a wink" laughed Jin.
The two had a good chuckle and sat on the couch to watch some Chinese soap operas.
Meanwhile, the girls all met up with Mei, Miriam was driving her mother's station wagon with Abby in the passenger seat and Priya in the backseat.
"Hey Mei!" exclaimed Miriam.
"Hey preggo!" exclaimed Abby.
"Yo!" said Priya.
"Hey girls" smiled Mei.
Priya got out and helped Mei into the backseat since her belly was protruding a little bit.
"Thanks, girl" smiled Mei.
"Anytime" replied Priya.
"So first stop, that new Mexican place EnchiNada and then we're karaoke-ing it up!" exclaimed Miriam.
"This night is gonna be the bomb dot com!" exclaimed Mei.
(A/N) Hey guys, so sorry for the late chapter...I had some things that I had to attend to, let's just say it wasn't a pleasant week but I'm good now. I'll try to post up tomorrow or Saturday. Until next time!
