Dragon Warriors
in Holiday Traditions
In the catacombs, Connor is sleeping in his room peacefully. He was until Shade pawed him to wake him up.
Connor groaned as he got up, and he glanced at Shade.
"Alright Shade, I'm up," said Connor.
They began to fly, it's Shade's favorite thing to do early in the morning. They flew all around the city and saw the people decorating for the holidays with their dragons.
Where the Warriors are helping out.
Then Shade landed and Connor got off to see the big tree being decorated.
"A first holiday celebration with dragons, now I've seen everything," said Connor with a smile. Suddenly, he heard roaring. "What the-" he said, and he looked up and saw dragons flying away from the city.
"Connor!" he turned and spotted the rest of the Warriors coming toward him.
"What's happening?"
"The dragons are leaving," Alicia explained. "Including ours," she said.
"What!?" Connor questioned.
"Yeah, and we don't know where they're going," said Vault.
Later back at the catacombs, the Warriors are trying to solve the mystery of the dragons, while Celestine is talking to King Charles about it.
"And that's the whole thing." Celestine finished.
"Yes. And the dragons in our world have left too," said Charles.
"Do you know, where they're going?" she asked.
"I don't know," he answered. "But I've sent my knights to follow them."
"So everyone's dragons including outs, except for me and Neon, have left," said Connor.
"Yeah, that's pretty much it." Indigo spoked.
"Well Meaty wasn't feeling well for weeks," said Neon.
"And I told you, that he needs plenty of rest," said Grave.
"Yeah, he refuses to leave every time we have to start our patrol." Kaguya agreed.
"But don't worry." Beardsley spoked. "The dragons will come back when they're done with, something," he said.
"For how long?" questioned Luu Luu.
"Come on, guys," said Connor. "We celebrated the holidays without dragons in Eostia, I'm sure we can celebrate it in East Liverpool too," he said.
The next day, the Warriors are doing everything they can to keep the holiday going. They did a few tricks to entertain kids, which they started to feel better after their dragons left.
"How're you guys doing?" asked Connor.
"We're doing good," said Alicia.
"Hey guys," they turned and spotted Prim carrying fruit cakes.
"Hey Prim, what are you doing?" he questioned.
"I just thought that the season could use something, sweet," Prim answered.
"I could never refuse one of your fruit cakes," said Vault, and he took one bite and made a smile of delight of that taste.
"But Prim, your a princess," Beardsley exclaimed. "Princesses aren't supposed to bake," he said.
"I was just trying to be more helpful," she replied.
"And do you guys noticed that Shade's, a little sad." Maia spoked. And the Warriors are starting to realize it.
"Yeah, what gives," said Claudia.
"From the way, I see it, that he doesn't have a family," said Grave.
"I never thought of that," said Connor.
"Hey, some people don't have families," said Vault.
Later back at the catacombs, the Warriors are checking up on Meaty to see it he's doing alright.
"How is he?" asked Connor.
"Doing fine, at least he's getting better," said Grave.
"Let's check to see if he's feeling any better," said Beardsley.
Once Grave opened the stable, Meaty flew and dragged Grave to who knows where.
After Meaty left with Grave, the Warriors and the Riders checked his stable.
"He left! Why?" Neon questioned.
"I don't know," said Connor. "And he took Grave," he said.
Then Alicia noticed these strange round shapes.
"Guys, look," Alicia called out. And everyone soon noticed the shapes.
"Are those eggs," said Maia. "You're dragon laid eggs," she said, then Neon started to realize something.
"Meaty's a girl," he said. Then Alicia started to put things together.
"I bet that's why the dragons left, to lay their eggs," she said.
"Yeah. But this seems, familiar," said Connor, as he's trying to remember something about the dragon eggs.
Meanwhile, Meaty is flying somewhere with Grave on her back. They flew past the forests and an old yacht.
They made it to Pittsburgh and headed to Twelve Mile Island, and surprisingly, there is no snow on it.
Once Meaty landed, Grave jumped off and saw that the dragons came to this island to be their nesting grounds.
He saw baby dragons being taken care of by their parents. And he saw a Gronckle placing its eggs into the river.
The eggs burst opened and the baby dragons swim up to meet their parent. And that's when Grave spotted an egg.
"Looks like you miss one," said Grave. Just as he was getting closer to it, the egg exploded, causing him to fall down and the baby Gronckle landed safely on the soft sand. "It's a good thing those don't hatch in the city," he said. And that's what he thinks.
Back at the city, the Warriors and Riders are giving away the eggs to everyone.
"Isn't this great," said Alicia.
"I can't help but remember something," said Connor trying to figure this out.
Then one egg exploded and the baby Gronckle hit Beardsley, causing him to fall down, and the Gronckle landed on his gut, and it started to open its eyes. The Warriors and the Riders began to d'awwed at it.
"The eggs, explode," Alicia said in shock.
"Oh, now I remember now," said Connor in realization.
Then be began to snatch the eggs from the people and threw them into the air and they exploded, then Vault took off his cape and toss the other end to Maia to use it as a net.
And one by one, they caught the baby Gronckles.
"Did you got all of them?" questioned Connor.
"No," Vault answered. "There's still one more," he said.
Then they heard cracking, they all looked down and saw that the egg is about to hatch, and the only response...Connor covered his ears.
Then the egg exploded, and it launched Connor to the river. Then he began to crawl out of the freezing water, shivering.
"Someday...one day...I'm gonna kill'em," said Connor who is chattering his teeth.
Later back on the island, Grave is checking at the island, until he spotted his and the rest of the Warriors' dragons.
"Bomber! Cloudbuster!" Grave called out, and the dragons ran up to him. "You have babies," he said, as he looked down at the baby Nadders.
"I need to get you back home," But Grave froze and looked at the baby dragons. "But I can't leave them here." Grave began pacing around to come up with a plan to bring the baby dragons home to East Liverpool until it hit him.
"I have an idea," said Grave.
Later back at the city, Connor is being warmed up by Shade after the exploding egg incident.
"Sorry Chief." Vault apologized to Baxter. "We didn't know that the eggs explode while they hatch," he said.
"Don't worry about it," said Baxter. "At least their not trouble," he said, as he glanced at the baby Gronckles.
That's when Alicia noticed the people looking at something.
"What are the people looking at?" questioned Alicia.
Then the Warriors soon noticed something as well, and in the sky are Grave with the dragons, carrying a yacht.
"It's Grave and our dragons!" said Vault.
And once the dragons placed the yacht to the ground, and came out...the baby dragons.
Everyone embraced their dragons, where Meaty found her babies and gave them fishes.
"Babies! They're so cute," said Maia.
"I guess you figured out where the dragons were," said Connor.
"Indeed I did," replied Grave.
At the catacombs, Grave explained the whole thing to the Warriors.
"Looks like the dragons, have their own tradition," said Connor.
"That's right, and I just can't leave the babies on that island," said Grave. "The wind currents are too strong for them to fly," he said.
"Yes," said Charles. "We realized it as well, spending time together with friends and family," he said, and the Warriors smiled.
