Chapter 15

Felix POV

As I stood only inches in the castle from the doorway with the door that bit me and left me with two holes in each of my palms, I noticed several things that was vastly different to that of my previous master's castle as this one seemed to be more coloured in dark shade of colours, mainly in black, crimson red that reminded him of the human blood, but also oddly also in a shade of dark blue that reminded him of the night sky, the castle seemed to be feel like it was bigger on the inside than what it looked from the outside which felt odd to him. As he continued to walk though the very long hallway that after walking several meters it seemed to branch out into three separate hallways to allow more rooms to occupy on the bottom part of the castle, instead of taking the other two hallways that branches to the left and right side he continued to walk through the middle part that led to the spiral staircase going up to black, with crimson streaks on it.

He didn't know why he just stood at this particular door or why he didn't go back down to bottom floor to see the other parts of the castle, it was like he knew within himself that this door was where he get his answers or maybe something else entirely, but the more he stared at this door the more stupid he felt for not knocking to see if anyone was in. He picked up what left of courage he had in him "knock, knock"on the door, he waited and waited for what felt like hours but was only a few seconds.

No one answered the door after he knocked three times, he turned round to go back down, until the door swung open with a loud "CRASH!", Afton came storming out of the room and looked furious and muttering under his breath too low for even himself to hear, made sure to move out of Afton's way to avoid being on Afton's warpath, but when Afton was out of site he peered his head in the doorway "is anyone in here I didn't want to intrude but I wanted to know where I can find the master so I can see where I'm going in this place or if he has other plans for me" he called out with worry showing in his voice as he spoke.

He then saw two familiar vampires exiting out if the darkness filled room, who stopped at the doorway to meet him with a smirk playing on both of their faces, he knew these two well enough from what his old volturi masters used to tell them about ages ago, with how they once ruled the vampire kind and even onced resided in the castle in Volterra until they lost the battle and lost both their coven and mates supposedly.

Both of the Romanians still had the smirk on their faces, "if your looking for Kur our master then your more than welcome to stay in the room just don't touch anything if you want to stay intact and alive" the one named Stefen told him in his thick Romanian accent while laughing afterwards, " the master is busy at this precise moment and he doesn't take lightly for anyone who touches anything in this room" Vladimir followed up from what his brother already said in the same thick accent and laughed as well.

He looked at them both expecting to hear why they was laughing as what they told him didn't sound funny but made him worry what could be in the room that he mustn't touch that could make them say that, either that or they shared a joke that only they knew and he was on the outside of this inside joke. Both of the Romanians pushed past him and continued to laugh while walking down the spiral staircase, he still wondered why they looked happy even though they lost their mates which is supposedly make a vampire lose themself to become an empty shell of what they were before, but maybe not everything is what he was taught and things are much more different that he will start to learn now that he is here.

After he finished pondering his thoughts, he looked at the doorway and then walked through the doorway of the room where both Vladimir and Stefen came out of. As he made his way into the room he began to notice he couldn't see anything, not even any form of light source to make it easier, even with his enhanced vision, he felt almost like he was blinded but thought how it could be possible when he could see clearly before entering this room.

He started walking even more into the room taking precaution of not to touch anything as the warning that both Romanian brothers warned him about, as he continued to walk in the room while still feeling blind he did wonder how either of them managed to get about in the room so easily, almost like they knew something he didn't. He continued to walk through the room and wondered how he's yet to come in contact with anything that might have been in the room, almost like there wasn't any furniture in the room but he wondered how big the room must be if he hadn't incounted the walls either.

He then started to feel slightly irritated with all this moving around the room without finding a wall or somewhere to wait until Kur returns from what he was told earlier, he felt like a blind man moving about, never knowing where he was going or if he was gonna walk into a wall or anything and it made him feel not just irritated but frustrated too. He got so fed up that threw his arms into the air in a way of giving up and dropped himself to the ground and sat down as he would have sat on a chair if there was one.

All this waiting and moving about this room was getting on his last good nerve and he looked forward to when he got to see the Romanians again as he swears he will get his own back on them for this but then it dawned on him that it could be just a practical joke they was playing on him, similar to how both him and demetri used to do each other, "man I missed him, I wish I could have him join me on Kur's side and not be on the volturi's side but what is done is done we both chosen our sides and maybe I find that I come to like the Romanians like brothers and I could join them with the jokes" he thought to himself.

As he stopped thinking for awhile and looked around himself while still sitting down on the floor, he noticed a small flicker of candle light in the distance flickered a few times almost like it wanted him to look at it or tell him something. He picked himself up off the floor and he knew then that he should walk towards that candle light as it may lead to someone who can help or tell him where Kur is. As he made his way even closer he was sure he saw a hand almost looked to be formed of shadows like Kur's seemed to be whenever he was in his master's presence, but he wasn't certain as he thought he must have illusioned himself to think he seen a hand hovering over the candle light, he thought that the hand could be resembling his master's hand as he has been in this room for awhile and felt blind and now he begins to see a hand, "why is my luck horrible and wants to torture me with what I want but never get" he said out loud.

Then he saw that hand again but started to clasp the candle light, making it so dark again that he felt blind again and now felt like he regreted what he said and wished the light will return, as the feeling of blindness was torture. He then began to hear foot steps that he was certain was coming from Infront of him, where the candle light was before he was extinguished from the hand.

"Why are you in my private chambers without my permission and how did you even get in when it only unlocks for certain members of the army only?" the voice boomed with extreme volume that seemed to echo around the room.

"Well I'm in here because the Romanians, Vladimir and Stefen told me that the master will arrive soon and to wait in here for him, they also told me not to touch anything if I wanted to stay intact and alive, and I managed to get in here as they left the door open for me to come into so I beg of you not to kill me, I didn't mean to intrude" he begged.

The voice laughed, he cringed from it as it sounded weird like the voice that was talking to him and the laugh didn't match together, "ah sorry about that they do like to do that to anyone new around here as they was here with me from the start not long after they lost that battle with the volturi, also I prefer you to call me Kur and not master if you don't mind, I'm sure you probably guessed it was me but wasn't certain, but never mind the Romanians are fine and I'm sure you get to know them much better in the future as you be here awhile so you can get comfortable" Kur chuckled while being quite relaxed compared to all the other times he has been in his presence or had a conversation of some kind with him.

"So that means you've been here this whole time then watching me walking around your room aimlessly? Why didn't you say anything earlier? Sorry I have loads of questions that I want to ask you as Afton wasn't very helpful with answering them so I hope you could answer them for me" he asked Kur hoping to get an answer.

"Well yes and no, I have been here watching you and no I didn't want to say anything earlier as it's also a test in a way that the Romanians have unknowingly set up which I benefit from as it means I get a good way to watch you to see what you do, I will answer your questions in time but for now I will say everyone in this castle is trustworthy and some have been here longer than others but all for the same cause in this ancient long war"

He couldn't believe he was watching me the whole time, but then he did give me a valid reason why, I do wonder if he does this often with every new recruit or is it for only certain recruits, and it's surprising that this idea came from the Romanians. Being here he will definitely be seeing some of his kind he may have come in contact with in the past that he may have a different perspective of them and even begin to like them, and make an army that even the volturi can't defend against. His mind began to wonder about the castle and he was gonna ask until Kur beat him to it.

"I have a feeling you are gonna ask the same question I've heard before and yes the castle itself is alive and it feeds on everyone who enters, it does have have the side effect of causing dizziness and weakness after the initial first bite, it's origin story you will hear eventually as your bound to hear it being told numerous of times whenever we have new recruits, so eventually you will get fed up of hearing it, but while you stay here you will be doing regular training to make you stronger and powerful enough to extract your revenge and be in our army to ensure our victory" Kur explained to him.

All this information that Kur explained to him, he was feeling very good about it all and was excited to hear about the origins of the castle, plus he liked the sound of getting stronger and powerful, and he hoped to hear how everyone in the castle came to be part of this army. He felt confident that being here, learning everything that he can and everyone who is part of this army to make sure that Isabella gets what is coming to her and that his old masters will be destroyed too.

He looked to Kur feeling confident, "I will prove to you that you made the right decision, time and for me to be in your army, by doing as much training as possible to get stronger and powerful as I want to destroy Isabella and hopefully help with destroying the volturi coven including the three kings" he said with a clear voice and was very certain with his reasoning. He then began to realise that one thing still bothered him that he wanted to ask, "I have this one question that has been bothering me since I first heard your voice over six months ago" he asked while mentally crossing his fingers in head, "you may ask it" Kur said quite simply without looking like it mattered to him, "well as I've only ever seen you as a shadowy version of myself in my head several times I wanted to know can we meet in the flesh" he asked with curiosity.

"Well how do you know that it still isn't in your head and your locked away in the cage all the way in Volterra still, but yes you will get to see me in the flesh in a moment after you answer what I just said" Kur questioned him, he seemed a bit surprised by the question and wondered the same thing himself, but knew that he couldn't be in that cage still and was sure that he must be in Kur's castle now.

"I'm not certain that if this is in my head but I'm sure of myself that I am here in this castle with you, as it feels too real for it to be all in my head, but I'm sure with the more time I spend here in this castle I be more certain that this whole conversation and everything isn't just in my head" he explained to Kur.

"Looks like you are becoming more and more aware of everything ever since that first conversation in your head, but now that you have answered what I asked you, you can see what I truely look like in the flesh as you say, what you will see is my true form so I hope you are sure of the side you chosen" Kur announces to him.

I decided to take a step back as I could feel that the air within the room started to feel heavy, what started as a lack of lighting in the room soon started to change in a matter of seconds, as all that was dark, gloomy and possibly full of shadows, started to move towards one spot in the room which was where he originally saw Kur's hand when he clasped the candle light earlier.

All the darkness and shadows in that one spot began to allow the room to become lighter so he could now see the entire room but his concentration was more focused on where the darkness and shadows was, which started to look like a massive sphere which was as dark the room originally was, but had wisps of the shadows flicker at the edge of the sphere.

As he watched the sphere for a few more seconds he began to see body parts slowly removing themselves from it,the first body parts he noticed was the legs from the bottom of the sphere, they looked draconic like from a dragon, but the feet didn't show any sharp claws but as the legs was scaly and almost like armor plated, the feet looked scaly and armored like the legs but seemed to have a look like Kur had boots on that was made and looked the same as his legs did, the colouring looked to be following from the shadows and darkness in colour but had some streaks of crimson red.

The next to appear were the arms and they looked almost the same as the legs as they shared the same colouring, scaly and armored look, but the hands looked more human than dragon like as you could see all four fingers and thumb on each hand but showed no claws like you would have thought after seeing his legs and arms to look, the only difference compared to his legs was that the arms itself had spikes running down them, which looked a foot long in length, extremely sharp and dangerous luckily, they stopped where the hands started.

Then the legs began to take a few steps forward to allow the rest of Kur to show himself, well as you can guess the rest of him was scaly and armored but body also had additional armour that was made of shadows with the wisps and darkness flaring off him, but from looking at his master he knew that the additional armour is either protecting something behind it that requires extra armour. He noticed that the a few more steps forward allowed him to see what looks like wings that was equally looking like the rest of him armored and scaly but had spikes that was double in length to the arms, that was on the ends of the wings, that must be to deal additional damage in battle with whoever he fighting.

His face was scaly and armored too but his eyes was a different matter as they were both red but looked slitted almost like a snake has, but what made his face unusual was it wasn't human looking or even draconic but something that just looked sinister like it came from hell itself.

"So am I what you expected, but I'm guessing from your face that you are shocked at what I look like as you didn't expect it, I'm guessing you just thought I was gonna be a weak human, vampire, werewolf or shapeshifter, but I will tell you this I'm none of those and what I am is way more powerful than anyone that has ever existed"

Kur was right he definitely didn't expect it but he also didn't fear him like he knew that he should either, if anything he respects him, he is powerful and he rather respect the ones with true power and not the kings who think they have power because they have laws and gifted coven to scare everyone to fear them. He went down on one knee and bowed to his master, "master I pledge myself to you and your cause and will do anything that you wish of me" he pledged to his master.

"Excellent so let's get started with training and I will show you around so you can get situated with why your here and who else is here who can talk you through the plan and what's to be expected" Kur told him.

He still had his head bowed, but as his master spoke he rose off his feet and followed his master as he walked out of the room.

Aro POV

As me and my brothers announced to everyone about what happened and what we saw but left out with the facts about the twins potentially being hybrid witches and with the fact that the cause of the light was from Isabella who called herself Bella to save mix up as she was within our Isabella, but we knew that eventually some of those facts will come out but we wanted to wait for the right time.

As we then began to tell everyone that we won't be going about the original plan but still checking everyone to ensure that there was no traitors about within the castle, let's just say there was a few words said as some didn't like it and I knew that my brother who always loves a fight wanted to agree with them but had to ensure that they understood that there is a reason behind it.

After all the checks were done we told everyone to go about their business and do whatever they were previously doing, while me and my brothers could talk.

"So I've checked everyone who is residing in the castle and none of them seem to be the traitors that we are looking for, but I have noticed some of our coven are missing who are potentials to be the traitors, not just that but we will have to check the ones we sent on the observation mission with the god of war situation, just to be on the safe side that they are not traitors either" he told his two brothers as it was just them in the throne room as even Renata wasn't in the room as she went to check on Isabella with Heidi.

They all shared the same look with the knowing thought that even without touching them to know what they are thinking to know who it was missing from the castle apart from the ones who are on mission, "I'm guessing we all know are missing and are the traitors" Caius said to them, both him and Marcus nodded their heads.

Heidi POV

Well after the masters told everyone to go about their own business and what they was previously doing, I went back in a hurry to check on Isabella, when I got there I saw the same two guards who I asked earlier to stay guard of Isabella's room while I was occupied in the throne room with the masters.

"Has there been anything to update me on while I was away" she asked the guards in usual friendly tone, "there isn't much to report apart from one thing that we both noticed, which was a weird glow of light that surrounded Isabella awhile ago, but when one of us went to check we heard a voice call out saying everything is fine and to go back to guarding the door of the room, which we did like we couldn't control our own bodies, almost like we was being compelled to do what we was told, but except that everything went back to normal a few minutes ago, even the weird glow from Isabella disappeared" the guard on the right side of the doorway told her.

"Thank you for guarding Isabella for me and I think we be fine now so you may go and do as you was previously gonna do as if anything happens I can protect us" she said calmly to the guards, the guards then bowed their heads to her in respect and walked in the opposite direction to where she was, she walked into the room to see that Isabella was awake and just staring at her rather peacefully.

A small knock came at the door behind her and she turned around to see it was Renata,"is it ok if I join you to talk and spend time with Isabella" Renata said in a meek, almost shy time when she spoke, "sure you can, I could do with someone to talk to and you know your always welcome to see her as I'm sure that Aro wouldn't ever say no to you to see Isabella as she is family in this coven" she told Renata.

"Thank you, I will try to make more of a effort to see her, she knows who I am, also I wanna ask you something, do you think that the masters are keeping something from the rest of us, I'm only asking because usually I know almost everything that's said in that room but it's the first time I don't know what was said apart from what they told us but I still have this feeling that something is missing" Renata told her.

Then there was me thinking that I was alone in thinking that something didn't make sense with what the masters told us almost like they are keeping us in the dark, but she was glad that Renata felt the same as myself, "there was me thinking I was the only one who thought that makes me glad I'm not the only one, so you have any idea what it could be?" she asked her, "not a clue if I was being honest with you, but when I know I will let you know" Renata told her.

She began to wonder what it could be that the masters was hiding from them, then she remembered what the guards told her and then looked at Renata and then began to tell her what the guards told her to see if it has any connection to what happened in the throne room and what the masters didn't tell them. Renata then turned to move and sit in the chair in the room and looked go be in thought about it, "it's a possibility that it's connected but until we have more proof we can't be for certain, as much as I want to keep it away from the masters knowing this we can't if they do check out thoughts again but until then we keep an ear out for anything that could connect the dots" Renata explained. "Your right we can't keep it from them but they will know that we won't stop trying to find out what they neglected to tell us because it could help" she said feeling rather confidently about it.

She turned back facing where Isabella is, picked her out of her crib and into her arms, then walked slowly over to let Renata have a hold of her for a while before she went back to guarding Aro again.

If you enjoyed this chapter then review as I would love to read them and see what you thought of it and if there is anything to improve on it. I will try to post a new chapter as quickly as I'm able to, until then please follow if you wanna keep updated with new chapters.
