It was a crappy rainy morning. Kim's attitude last night threw me off, but I was starting to get tired of this. Of me chasing after someone that was in a relationship. I had to work my shit out and move on.

When I got to the bullpen everyone was there. I went into the break room to get some coffee, Kim and Erin were in there too and they immediately stopped talking as I opened the door.

"Morning girls."

"Good morning detective" greeted Erin as she gave me a hug and left with a mug in her hand, leaving me alone with Kim.

"Hey." That's all she said and I nodded before I got my mug and began to pour some fresh coffee in it. I felt that she was walking closer to me "Sorry about last night."

"No need to apologize. You were tired." I turned around to leave, I knew that was going to piss her off.

She hurried her step and left the room before I did. Yeah. She was pissed.

I just smiled, I know her so well.

"Guys, a case came up. Two dead bodies, we're going out." Said Voight, coming out of his office.

We got to the scene and we're able to get some leads. Burgess and I were able to get some names and locations.

All of us headed back to the district to figure out what to do.

"Sarge I got a possible suspect on security vídeos. It seems as if he tossed the murder weapon in this area right here." Kim said as she pointed to the map "We don't have any footage of him as he was going through this area, be we can see something in his hand we he's coming and and nothing when he leaves"

Erin carried on with the theory "We assume that if that was in fact the murder weapon, then in must me somewhere around here, we crossed check with the sewer blueprints." She narrowed down the perimeter that needed to be searched and signaled it out to all of us.

"Also, we were able to run the suspect through facial rec and got a name and address."

"Great. Atwater and Ruzek, I want you to check out that address. Lindsay, Halstead, Burgess and I go to look for that murder weapon. Let's get moving."

Kev and I went to the suspect's house but just like we thought, there was no one there.

"I hate it when they're not there." Said Kevin with disappointment.

"Me too. Let's head back to the district and see what we can do from there."

"You got it, bro."

"So, how did your date with Rojas go?" The grin on his face gave him away.

"I'm not gonna lie, it went great. In fact we're going out again tomorrow."

"That's great, man! You look happy". I really did hope that things between Kev and Vanessa could work out, if there was anyone in this world who deserved it, that was Kevin.

"I am" he declared with a smile "How about you? Kim? Wendy?"

I was looking straight ahead as I drove when I answered "Well, Kim's acting all weird, so I have no idea what is up with her. And as for Wendy, we broke up last night."

"You did?" He sounded surprised.

"Yup. What? You didn't think I'd have the balls to do it?"

"Nah, man. It's not that. I just figured that maybe you wanted to have your ideas straight before you took that step." He explained.

"They're straight. My relationship with Wendy was going nowhere, we both knew that. It was just a matter of time."

"Are you telling me that this had nothing to do with Burgess?" He asked and I chuckled at his question.

"Of course it did, it just wasn't the whole reason. But I've been thinking a lot about that, and it's stupid because nothig is ever going to happen between us. I mean it's not like I'm gonna go and ask Roman if I could please date his girlfriend." I was going to continue talking until I heard Kevin's voice.

"Speaking of which..." Kevin trailed off as he looked out the window of the passenger's seat "Dawg, pull over for a sec."

"What happened?" I looked at his direction "Is it the suspect?"

"Uh uh" Kevin denied. "Isn't that Roman?" He said as he pointed towards two people.

"It is. And that is not Kim." I could feel my blood boiling right now, this asshole was making out with some random girl in the middle of the street. Is that how little he cared? I know we were not in our neighborhood, but still.

"They're going into that diner." Atwater pointed out. "Should we follow them to see what's up?" I had already turned off the car and was unbuckling my seatbelt. Hell yeah I was gonna get out.

"Oh come on Kev, what else is there to see? Let's go."

"Wait up bro, relax. What are you planning on doing? If you can't handle this then I'll go alone, I don't feel like putting up with your hot head right now. I'm as pissed as you are, but acting like a cowboy won't help. If you're leaving this car, is to see what the hell this guy is doing"

I sighed and ran my hand through my face trying to wash the frustration away, but I know that Kevin was right. "Fine" I finally said "We'll do it your way"

"Good."

We both got out of the truck and headed in the diner, we sat in a booth where we could see Roman. There was no way that this was a misunderstanding, he was on a lunch date with this chick.

"Son of a bitch. I can't believe he's doing this." I said as I closed both of my hands into fists, I was furious.

"I say we confront him. He needs to know that we saw him." I know that Kevin's idea was much better than mine, but I still had to share it, just in case the stars aligned and Kev decided to go with my idea instead.

"I say we beat the crap out of him." I saw Kevin smile.

"Sounds tempting, but we're better than that." I hated it when he was right.

When the blonde that was with him stood up to go to the bathroom we took it as our cue to go over his table. Kev sat next to him and I took the chair facing him.

"Hey buddy" I was grateful that Atwater spoke first, because I just wanted to send this motherfucker to hell.

"Hey guys, what's up?" He tried to sound natural and relaxed, but his nervousness could be smelt from miles away.

"Listen Roman, let's cut the crap, ok?" I wasn't having any of this bullshit and I was going to go straight to the point. "We saw you making out with this chick and we know for a fact that she isn't Burgess." The dead straight look on his face and his silence was killing me, I couldn't believe this shit. "So, you're just gonna sit there and say nothing?" I had to ask.

"Well, if you saw me I guess there is no use in lying to you." I had to close my eyes and breathe to stop myself from punching him in the face and Kevin saw it.

"This is how things are gonna roll now, you have until tonight to come clean with my girl and if you don't then we will. You understand?" If I hadn't known Kevin I would be scared shitless by the look on his face as he talked to Roman.

"And who the fuck do you think you are to threaten me like that?" Roman asked with a nasty attitude.

"Who the fuck are you to be playing with Kim like this?" I hadn't realized, but I was speaking so much louder now. Kevin's face and the heads turned looking at me were the hints I needed to know I was about to make a scene.

"Oh, don't be a hypocrite Ruzek. You don't even care if I'm playing or not with her. We both know the reason you're pissed is because you wanna get in her pants."

In places both of my hands on the table with determination as I stood up, I was ready to punch him in the face.

"Listen Roman" Kevin spoke again, he desperately didn't want this to escalate any further. "I don't think you really understood. Either you tell her or we will, and I will not hold back on any details."

"Fine, I'll talk to her." He finally agreed.

"You better." I said before I left the diner, I couldn't see his face anymore.
