There was nothing easy about this op. The Viper Room wasn't even close to being packed with people; so, even though I was his type and all, it was pretty evident that he was going to come to me.

The bar countertop was very different from Molly's. Here, everything looked super expensive and sophisticated. I was sitting there looking uninterested but available, drink in hand and waiting for Sloan to appear.

The buzzing and the nervousness of the staff gave him out. Sure I've seen him in pictures, but having him right there in front of me was something else. The thought of him and everything he does was revolting, but if you had no idea about his background, he was a pretty attractive guy.

Robert Sloan was in his fifties and about 6 feet 1, you could totally tell that he worked out on the regular because his body was perfectly built. The way he swayed around the room and greeted everyone who was working there, denoted how charming of a personality he has, on the outside at least.

"How is it that a beautiful and sexy woman is sitting here alone?" Ughh typical pick up line, he was beginning to disappoint me. "Did I say something wrong?" He totally picked up my eye rolling and I just chuckled.

"I just thought that a man that could carry himself like you did walking up to me would be a little bit more… creative." Now he was the one chuckling as he signaled for the bartender and asked him for his regular, a double scotch in the rocks.

"Beautiful and smart. The truth is, I was intimidated by you as soon as I saw you when I crossed that threshold." He slightly turned and pointed to the door from which he had arrived. "There's something so compelling about you that just had me babbling the first things that crossed my mind." Ok. This guy was good. I'll give him that, he knew what he needed to say to get what he wanted. His MO was exactly this one. He wouldn't take you against your will at first, he would make you want to leave with him and I honestly couldn't blame the victims. Probably if I hadn't known what his agenda was and if I wasn't madly in love with my asshole boyfriend, I could potentially be one of those girls he had locked up.

Yes, I recently came to terms with labeling my feelings regarding Ruzek. I love him, although I may not particularly like him right now, I am so in love with him and denying those feelings wasn't going to make them any less intense nor make them go away. I had no idea where that left me now though.

"Ok, that was much better." Sloan gave me a sexy little smirk that looked ridiculous compared to those Adam shoots at me, but I played along and smiled back. "Amber Anderson, a pleasure to meet you." I extended my hand for him to shake, instead he took it and pulled a Gomez Addams, kissing the back of my hand softly.

Once his flirting started it didn't stop. He leant closer to me as he spoke, and began to take any opportunity he had to slightly touch me.

It was so interesting to get into the psychology of these guys, they were master manipulators and they had a knack for achieving their goals.

He invited me to go back with him as he pulled a strand of my hair behind my ear and kissed the corner of my lips.

"Sorry Amber, I need to take this." He stood up when his phone started to vibrate. I recognized the name on the screen, it was one of the ones we had written in red marker on the board in the middle of the bullpen. It was a long shot and probably not the safest move, but if Sloan was going to say something consistent that will actually prove that he was implicated in all of this, he wasn't going to say it to me, he was going to say it to that guy on the phone. He was going to say it to Allan Huxley.

I grabbed my clutch bag and pretended to walk to the lady's room. Looking around I found the door that was hiding Sloan from me, I could hear the voice coming from behind it but I knew it wasn't loud enough for anyone in intelligence to hear it. I had to do it, I had to go in that room.

-Adam-

The van felt cramped as hell. I've been in here with Kev a thousand times, but today had a different vibe to it. Today I was obsessing over every detail because if something went wrong it was Kim who was going to be in danger. I couldn't allow that to happen.

"I swear to god man, he puts one hand on her, she gets hurt doing this and will break both his jaw and Voight's."

"Relax, bro. She can do this."

"Yes. I know she can, I never doubted that."

"You can't lose your shit like that bro. These are both your jobs and you're both great at it. You gotta trust her a little."

"Why does everyone keep telling me that?"

"Because that's what it sounded like."

"I worry about her. You saw what this piece of shit Sloan does. What if something happens to her and it's too late?" I shook my head and looked down. My left hand stroked my face trying to relieve some of the stress that was invading my body. "I can't even think about it." Kevin's hand squeezed my shoulder.

"She'll be fine, man. We've all got her back."

"I know. I just want to protect her." I sighed "I guess I'm scared. I'm in love with her, you know?" I looked right into his eyes. "I'm scared about something happening to her and I'm also scared of what I'm feeling, it's never been like this for me."

"Well, use it in your favor, to become a better man, a better cop. Right now use it to dig deeper in this case pull the strings we need to pull, instead of acting like an irrational caveman. And when we solve this and we all go home, you go and talk to her about how you feel."

"I'm not gonna do that. Already tried and she told me to leave her alone. I'm tired of running after her. Maybe she doesn't want me to be part of her life like that, maybe we are on totally different pages and even though it sucks to picture that reality, I need to respect her wishes." It destroyed me to say that, but there was nothing else I could do. I love her and part of that is accepting what the other person wants, so I'm giving her the space she asked for.

The look Kevin gave was far from approving, but I wasn't going to keep popping up in Kim's life hoping for her to do what I was longing for.

The slight change of sound coming from Kim's transmission made me focus all my attention on her voice and the background noises. Kevin was going to say something but I stopped him by raising my right hand and immediately grabbing my radio with the left.

"Um, something's happening. Burgess is changing position." I said into the radio. I was usually good at this, but Kev was right with something, I needed to channel all my worry and frustration into digging deeper and going further; I felt as if my senses were much stronger now."

"Copy that Ruzek." Voight echoed back.

-Kim-

I opened the door very carefully trying to be as quiet as possible. The room was elegantly equipped, it was a mixture of an office and a living room. An antique desk, a Victorian red velvet couch were the two things that called my attention the most, that was until I saw an ajar door right behind the couch. It was wooden and it had tainted glasses, but if you paid close attention you could see through it. I did and what I saw was a straight to jail card for Sloan.

There was someone behind that door. I was almost sure it was Samantha Wright, that last missing girl that we were advised of.

I needed to do something and get the team in here as soon as possible.

Sloan sounded nervous and pissed, I wasn't able to see him but I heard his voice closer and further apart telling me that he was pacing back and forth. Lucky for me, he had left Allan on speaker.

"I don't understand Allan, you had one fucking job and it was to keep those girls under control."

"It's not my fault the bitch kicked me in the nuts when I was untying her."

"Why were you even doing that? We're not supposed to take them to the docks in another hour."

"Can't a man have a little fun?" Their conversation disgusted me so much.

"I was there 20 minutes ago and everything was fine." Sloan sighed in frustration. "You better have everything locked up, we can't lose another one."

"It is, but I need you here right now. The others are getting out of control."

"You're fucking useless Allan. Let me see what I can do. I have to deal with the other two." Jackpot. The person behind that door was Samantha. I moved a little trying to get a better glimpse at her, but the loose wooden board of the floor ratted me out. "Hold up." He told Allan and immediately took his phone off speaker.

"What are you doing here?"

"Nice place you've got here." Maybe playing dumb would work.

"You didn't answer my question."

"I'm sorry. You invited me to go with you and when you took off to answer the phone I thought it was all part of the game. I was kinda hoping to have some privacy with you." My voice came out almost as a soft purr trying to seduce him and buy some time.

"Is that so?" He walked closer and never left his phone.

"Mm-Hmm." I nodded. Maybe we can go in that room, behind that lovely stained glass door. Kinda turning me on."

"Mmm… no. Not in there."

"Why not?"

"I said no. That's it."

"Hey relax. It's not like I wanna marry you or anything, just a little fun. I'm no Carrie Bradshaw, I'm more of a Samantha type of girl."

"Allan, I'll be there in 20 minutes." He said and hung up the phone. He fell for my trap, I only hope this works.

-Adam-

"Sarge, I think we need to reassess our strategy." That was my first thought as I processed everything I heard.

"Listen, we'll get her out."

"No, you listen to me now. I know her, I paid attention to every detail. There's something in that room, she stressed the fact of the stained glass door and she made that reference, she would have never said that under regular circumstances. So my guess is Samantha Wright is there."

"Sarge, we need your word to go in." I heard Erin's voice through the sound system.

"Boss, one more thing. We know that wherever Allan is he has the other girls. Sloan said he had been there today, maybe if we tracked the car?" I suggested again.

"Sarge, Ruzek and I can try to get through to the car's gps and maybe get the location?" Atwater jumped in.

"Kim's stalling him. Let's take advantage of that."

The silence over the other end of the radio was killing me, until I finally heard his voice.

"Ok, let's do that. Ruzek and Atwater you go after Huxley. Lindsay and Halstead go in the Viper Room and get Burgess out, Platt and I will get in through the back and look for Wright. Let's do this!"

-Kim-

Everything happened too fast after Sloan hung up the phone. He practically tackled me throwing me on the couch, he had me pinned against him and I could barely move.

"Robert, stop!"

"I thought you wanted to play, you little slut." I tried my best knee him between his legs, if I have had more space that would have come out with more force, but it didn't, causing Sloan to only move a few inches away out of discomfort. I felt an immediate burn in my mouth and a warm drop rolling down my cheek. He slapped me so hard my face turned.

He grabbed me by the arms and lifted me up the couch only to push me against the desk. The wooden edge of the piece of furniture jabbed my side making me yawp in pain. Just after he struck me again and pushed me against the wall, I heard what I was waiting for.

"Chicago PD! Step away and put your hands up." Halstead's howl bounced all over the room. I looked around and saw Erin come closer to me and Jay cuffing Sloan. A few seconds later Hank and Trudy stepped into the room and walked straight to the stained glass door. I was in pain and all the noises and shouting around me made it hard for me to understand everything that was going on.

"Let's get you out of here" Erin's voice seemed distant, she wrapped one arm around me and walked me outside. "Take a deep breath. Are you okay?"

I nodded. "Yeah I'm fine."

"Ok. I'm going to take you to med just to make sure."

"Erin, it's nothing. Just a couple of bruises."

"Yeah, and a split lip. You might need stitches."

"You're overreacting."

"Maybe, but we're going to med."

"Wait, let's go to the district first. I need to know what's going on. Where's Ruzek and Atwater?"

"They're fine, they went after Huxley."

"Burgess, are you ok?" Jay came to join us outside.

"Yeah, thanks. Where's Sloan? Did you get the woman from the back room?" I asked him.

"Voight is taking Sloan back to the district, and yeah we found the girl. You were right, it was Samantha Wright. We're just waiting on an update from Atwater and Ruzek. I'm heading back with Voight, he wants you to take Kim to med and to join us back at the district. I already radioed in an ambo and called Will and told him you were coming in."

"Sure, see you there in a few minutes." She answered Jay and then turned to look at me. "You heard the boss' orders. Let's go."
