The reason I made this book was mostly to write on wimps and I'm insomniac this week, so I'm writting this instead of sleeping. It's not really a story, more like a bunch of ideas and thoughts (I would have said funny thoughts, but knowing me, it'll get dark soon)
Don't ask me why I'm posting this pile of garbage but my sleep deprived brain thinks it's a good idea... so yeah... I'm a weirdo anyways.
If you're still reading, hope you enjoy! And I apologies for the horrors you are about to witness...
Random thought 1: Friends Choice
Lloyd: Cole, we need to talk
The team except for Cole: (Nods)
Cole: (poking his head up) About?
Lloyd: Your friends?
Cole: (still confused af) What about them?
Kai: Just look at them!
Cole: (glanced at his friends) Any idea what he's talking about?
Not taking their eyes out of their cards
Plundar {A thief trapped underground for years}: (laying on Adam) No clue
Fungus {An odd mole and mushroom sorcerer trapped underground for years}: Not in the least, friend
Korgan {A probably hallucinating barbarian trapped underground for years}: Korgan not know
Yang {A disturbed ghost Sensei that tried to kill the ninja then next attempted to trap Cole inside his temple for the remaining of Cole's ghost existence}: (shrugged)
Krag {A snow mountain monster}: (grumbling something incoherent but still answering negative to the question)
Cole: Same (he shrugged and sank back into Krag's arms, looking back at his cards)
Cole and his friends continued playing poker, ignoring the presence of the other ninjas.
Jay: His choice in friends is freaking me out...
Zane: I too am concerned.
The rest nodded.
(A/N: I need to draw this idea)
Random though 2: Ballet Boy
"There's something I've been wondering" Jay said in a thoughtful tone. Kai and Cole faked a gasped at the fact that the lightning master can think. The redhead ignored Kai in favour of scrutinizing the earth master.
"You've gone to Marty Oppenheimer Of Performing Arts, right?" The raven slowly nodded, not liking where this was going.
"And your dad was all about dancing and stuff, right?" why was his grin getting wider?
"...yeah?" he was sooooo not liking this.
"So that means you did ballet, right?" It wasn't really a question and everyone looked at Cole for his answer.
He didn't say anything, the blush spreading across his face was answer enough.
Immediately, Kai burst out laughing, soon followed by Jay, Lloyd and Nya (although she did try to stifle it). Zane failed to see what was so funny about the fact that his brother had learned another kind of dancing. But to be fair, he was the only one that didn't instantly picture Cole in a bright pink tutus, twirling around.
If the earth master's face was red before, then Kai's suit can now be called candy pink.
"But ballets is for girls!" He added inbetween laughter but that sentence only got him a slap behind his head from his sister. "Guys do ballet too, stupid"
"Indeed," Zane added "There are plenty of benefits one can gain from ballets" Seeing his opening, Cole jumped at the opportunity to turn one of his greatest shames into something cool.
"Yeah, I can do lots of neat stuff you guys can't" The raven said triumphantly. Kai only took that as a challenge. After all, they were ninjas. What could a ballerina do that's cooler than a ninja?
"Oh yeah? Like what?" The fire ninja dared and Cole was never one to back down from a challenge.
"Like this!" And the black ninja fell into a split. But Kai only snorted "I bet you Nya can do it too. Right Nya?" She may have nodded but she was glaring at her brother. (Water powers demands some water traits afterall)
"Then how about this?"
Cole rose himself upwards without bending his knees, but instead of standing normally he stood on one foot on his tiptoe (ballet version) with the other foot on top of it. He also managed to twirl somehow. That was pretty sick and damaged Kai's ego as he had to take back his words.
The remaining of the day was Cole showing off his extreme flexibility and some moved that looked pretty amazing. Ballet and ninjutsu mixed together was simply AMAZING
(A\N: This had been on my mind for a while, I'm pretty sure Cole did ballet and i can't stop thinking of Cole doing tricks alike to 'like a boss' videos... I'm not making any sense am I? But still, they ere pretty rad)
Random thoughts 3: Insomnia (you guys knew it was bound to happen)
This contains cursing... Lots of it
A whole fucking week with sleepless nights and it was getting on Cole's nerves. There wasn't even a good reason for him to be insomniac. There was no danger roaming around (Ninjago had been pretty quiet). They each had their own room now so no unbearable snoring. He wasn't in pain or anything, he was human as well. So why in the world couldn't he sleep?!
He'd just been staring at his ceiling while he wait desperately for sleep to overtake him but NO. Sleep was being a real bitch. No matter how fucking tired he was, asleep wasn't coming anytime soon. But you know who came? A fucking headache and that dick known as exhaustion. Those two weren't leaving him alone. No siree.
And this ass call insomnia was affecting his ninja performance as well s his competence as a leader. He was slow and clumsy and just so fucking weak. He could even summon his earth powers at this point. And let's not get started on how he's been treating his teammates lately, gosh, his temper was worst than Kai. Waaaaaaaaay worst. Which talking about, he repeated got fight with him over meaningless matters.
He'd been trying everything to be able to sleep. Soft music, cold showers, warm milk, counting sheeps, exercising and even reading those huge ass books Jay has but nothing. He wouldn't be able to get more than 5 minutes shut eye.
At this rate, he's going to take some pills to force himself to sleep tomorrow, no matter how much he distaste medicines of any kind
Random thoughts 4: Ghost
As a ghost, Cole could easily see the spirits wondering around the land of Ninjago and to be honest, the amount of dead undead freaked him out. Not even mentioning those with... Disturbing looks to say the least. He thought it would be over once e turned back human, but destiny had other plans.
Now, you may wonder how he managed to deal with all those spirits as a ghost. Well, he didn't.
As he ghost, the spirit would just acknowledge him as one of theirs and thus, ignore his existence most of the time. But for some reason, the fact that he was human and yet still able to see them was attention worthy. They all just keep coming to him and trust him, it was no fun.
Imagine, he would quietly enjoy his triple flavour ice cream cone when a random wondering ghost would spot him and float over to try and tell him something. Now, keep in mind the undead being look like someone whose been attacked by a group of hyenas while drowning and had been repeatedly been smashed into the skull with a hammer
...Yeah, not exactly what you want to see when eating...
Most of the spirits were being that had been severely wronged, either it be by betrayal or just plain bad luck. So guess what most of them come to Cole for? That's right, revenge. And they won't leave him alone.
The only place he was safe was inside the temple. Either the spirits doesn't approached cursed placed, or it could be Yang's presence that keep them at bay. Although, he really need Yang to stop waking him up by going through his stomach. Just the thought sent chills down his spine.
On the bright side, Yang may have a solution for his problem and Cole pray with all his heart it would work.
(A\N: Think of it, the reason why Cole, Morro and the others were visible was because they wanted to be seen so technically, their should be more ghost roaming across the country)
Random thoughts 5: Past
Kai remember that he would never forgive his parents for leaving them. They had just disappeared one night, leaving him, a 7 years old to take care of his 5 years old sister. And let him tell you, it was far from easy.
The 7 years old had to make sure their would be food on the table everyday for his sister, take care of her whenever she was sick, protect her from the mean kids of their village and finally, do anything to keep her happy.
Their village wasn't the poorest but neither was it the wealthiest. The villagers struggle a lot to maintain a stable living conditions but despite that, some of the adult villagers were kind enough to help Kai and Nya out.
An elderly couple would often bring dinner for the two siblings, a few people would give Kai a small 'job' so he could buy food, clothes and toys/books for Nya (not to forget his hair gel) and a young women proposed to teach them how to read.
The villagers help were a big help and they soon learned how to live on their own as they grew older. And Kai was able to restart his father's business of blacksmith. He soon learn to cope with the fact that the disappearance wasn't fault.
...
As a 5 years old, Nya didn't quite understand the sudden absence of their parents but she was clever enough to not ask a second time since it upset her big brother greatly. But she also knew that her parents wouldn't just leave them.
In the meantime however, she had to witness Kai struggling to keep them alive. She would watch her brother work for hours. He would be delivering boxes across the village, clean up houses and shops and caring for plantations. And yet, he'd still make time o be with her.
She knew sometime her brother didn't eat as much as needs to but he would always make sure she ate until she was full. And despite not having much money, Kai would always get her whatever she wanted.
So one night, when she turned 6, Nya promised to herself to do everything she could to help her brother. She learned how to fight so his brother didn't need to constantly protect her. She learned to read, write and discovered the numerous talents she was born with. And soon enough, Nya and her brother were capable to look out for themselves and each other.
...
Zane had been wondering aimlessly for several days, just walking towards an imaginary path in the snow. However, on his 6th day, luck was on his side. He had stumbled across a village that took him in.
The people were kind, they fed him, gave him shelter and a new set of warmer clothes. Madam Eva was a widow mother hen that allowed Zane to stay with her until he could find a place for himself. She was the kindest of the villagers and was the one Zane obtained his cooking skills from.
Soon enough, Zane was able to afford a place for himself as well as a job as fisherman. He would catch his own dinner and more often that not, bring some for Madan Eva as well.
It was nice
...
Being born in the junkyard had never posed to be a problem before for Jay. His parents loves him and constantly shower him in their affection. Plus, its not like he wasn't happy or lacked anything.
The problem started when he grew older. As usual, while his parents went o get groceries, Jay would play in front of the store with the other kids and make new friends. But this time, they started mocking the 8 years old boy. Saying mean stuff about him and the fact that he was from a junkyard.
And that continued on as he grow.
Whenever they went to the nearby village or city, they kids would take one look at his parents before criticizing him, mocking him, humiliating him and out straight laughing at him. But despite the bullying, Jay refused to give up making friends.
Now whenever he makes friends, he never let them knows who his parents are. He was to ashamed of them
...
Ever since he was a kid, Cole had a lot of struggle to make his father listen to him, but not with his mom. No, Lily always listen to him and made sure Cole knew she was proud of him. It came to no surprise that he was a mommas boy and needless to say he was incredibly upset when her mom fell sick.
The young boy would take every opportunity to go visit his mom and he would always bring a drawing he made. His mom loved his drawings and would put them up the walls. At the time, he had been unaware that his mom was slowly dying with no hope of recovery.
But as the day past, Cole started to realized his mom would never be climbing mountains with him anymore and that she was only getting worst. He'd cried himself to sleep that night.
Her death was expected but still hard. Cole had dare hope there would be a miracle that would save her, but of course, that never happened.
What was unexpected however was his dad's reaction to her death. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The man was acting like it was just another day in Ninjago and even went to his dance show the very night of her funeral.
Cole had been mad, didn't he just lose the love of his life? How could he go around singing and dancing. And that wasn't all. Oh no, apparently, he also forgot he had a son waiting for him everyday and night.
While his dad was out having fun, Cole had to deal with school, return to an empty home that he had to clean up, make dinner for himself and his father while hoping the latter would return home tonight. Of course he didn't and Cole might have well lost both his parents at the point,
It was months later, when Cole returned from school, he found his dad home but he didn't know what to do. He was both happy and angry to finally see him. He knew which emotion to feel when his father told him he would be going to Marty Oppenheimer School Of Performing Arts, saddest.
He should have known his father wasn't going to asked about him, the man just wanted him to follow his footsteps. Unfortunately, Cole knew he wasn't fit for dancing and singing on stage like his father and knew he was only a disappointment to the man...
(A/N: Am I the only that think Cole is always looking for approval and just want people to be proud of him?)
Random thoughts 6: Comfort Eating
Ever since he was young, Cole had a deep love for sweet food such as cake but it soon turned into a problem.
He was already a nervous eater, now imagine what happens when he's sad or upset.
Food had always been a source of comfort for him so it was understandable that whenever he was feeling down he would turn to his favourite foods.
What wasn't understandable was just how often it happens.
The first time was when his mother first felt sick. He would eat to make up for sadness of his mother's absence. A habit that only increased as his mother's stay also increased. By then, he had to face the cruel reality that she was never coming back home.
So he ate. Ate boxes of ice cream, cake, pizza. Ate packets of salty snacks as much as the sweet ones. Ate the empty void in his heart away.
His father always leaving him alone certainly didn't help.
Then he met master Wu and Cole had a purpose again. He already knew his eating habits was far from okay but he had it under control... mostly.
His bad habit picked up again when Zane 'died' and when he turned into a ghost (although, it bought him more sadness than comfort).
He started doing it again when Wu was lost in the time stream, but he knew he couldn't go on like this. With Wu gone, it was up to him to be the responsible one.
And that's what he did
But old habits dies hard.
Random Thoughts 7: Pink is a hot manly Color!
The sight that greeted Kai, Jay and Lloyd wasn't really what they expect from their strongest friend.
Sprawl across the couch, a hand in a big bowl of popcorn while his other hand was lazily holding the remote, was Cole. And while it wasn't such a surprising sight, what was surprising was the fact that their raven friend was wearing a pink vest.
A bright pink vest.
"Hey guys" The raven acknowledged lazily but instead of a reply, he got 3 maniacs laughing.
"Are you seriously wearing pink?" Kai asked in between chuckles while he's also struggling for breath.
"Sure I do. Pink is a hot manly color okay!"
(A/N: I honestly believe the same)
Random thoughts 8: Lily's disease
Cole was in shock
That much was obvious.
He'd barely spoke a word before locking himself in their room
And to be honest, no one could blame him
His friends, who weren't even directly concerned was still trying to process the information.
Flashback
"Sensei?" The master of earth called as he knocked on his teacher's door. He'd been looking for the man for a while now. After what he discovered in Shintaro, he wanted to know more about his mother.
He called again when he received no respond but still pushed the door slightly open. It was wide enough for him to poke his head.
"Where us he?" He asked to one as he entered the room, as if going inside would magically revealed his sensei's location. However, he did find something.
There was a bunch of opened scrolls displayed across the desk, but one particular piece of paper caught his attention. It was a letter of some sort and was pretty short and old. But what really intrigued Cole was that the handwriting was his mothers! He slowly started to read.
Dear Wu,
I fear Cole have indeed inherited my elemental power. I can feel my powers fading away and everyday I grow weaker. I honestly think my end is approaching.
I didn't understand at first, after all, Ray and Maya seems perfectly fine despite having Kai and Nya. But I have a theory that it is because of the spinjitsu burst. The closer someone is to their elemental powers, the harder it is to let go.
For what it's wor-
Cole dropped the letter and stared at it with wide eyes. He started to hyperventilate while his mind kept screaming 'No No No' over and over. He could feel his eyes sting as tears started to form. His vision was getting blurry too and he was shaking uncontrollably. He felt like he was suffocating. He needed to get out.
On shaky limbs, Cole walked along the corridors that kept moving left and right. But sometime on the way, he collided with someone.
"Cole, are you alright?" It was Zane and Cole could hear the concern in his voice but he could careless at the moment. He pushed the nindroid away and thankfully, reached their bedroom without further incident.
The moment he closed the door, his legs gave up. He slide down the door and hugged his knees as the tears flows freely.
He couldn't believe it
He was the reason his mother died
He, Cole Bucket, had killed his own mother.
And the same fate was awaiting him
Random thoughts 9: Seliel
Doorbell ring sound*
"Coming!" Nya called as she walked over to the Monastery doors. She wonder who it could be, the mail already came 2 hours ago. Oh well, she was about to discover.
She pulled the heavy wooden doors open to reveal a young girl, maybe a year or two older than herself, with long wavy fuchsia hair with a blue streak. She was dressed in a plain shirt underneath a jacket, ripped jeans and had a body Nya could kill for (and that was saying a lot considering she, herself was damn fine)
"Can I help you?" The water master asked to which she nodded.
"I came to see Cole. He here?"
"Yeah, and you are?" Nya stepped aside allowing her to enter
"Seliel" She said "I'm a childhood friend of his" Nya nodded as she bought her inside the living room where the boys were playing video games. She coughed to make her presence known.
"Hey Nya... Who's that with you" Jay who was the only one who bothered to look way from the screen greeted/asked and the currently non players immediately gave her all their attention. Before she could respond, the fuchsia head did.
"I'm Seliel"
The reaction was imminent.
Cole whipped his head towards the guest, game completely forgotten, a wide grin forming.
"Seliel!" He exclaimed, jumped over the crouch, ran to her and practically tackle her. Not only were the team surprised at Cole's reaction, but hey were also taken aback by this girl ability to remain standing and was actually holding the raven up.
"Cole, its been years" she said as she hugged the black ninja tightly
The sweet moment was cut short when Seliel let go of the raven causing him to fall, followed by a punch to the head. The others winced at the action as if they were the one hit. In their defense, seeing Cole, the master of earth who's body resistance is higher than theirs, holding his head a pain was a great indicator of how powerful that blow was
"You" She gripped his collar "You freaking own a flying ship and didn't even once think of visiting me?" She was constantly shaking him to emphasis her point.
"I was busy with Ninja stuff" He tried to defend himself but only received a glare.
"Oh really, and how is playing video games 'ninja stuff'?" Cole remained quiet and Kai decided to save his leader from her wrath.
"So, who are you?" His attempt to calm her down failed as she glared at Cole again "You didn't even told them about me?" And Cole visibly shrink.
"You're impossible!" She exclaimed but released her captive who only mumbled a sorry.
"I'm Seliel, and you could say I'm kind of Cole's older sister"
Random thoughts 10: HighSchool AU
It was still a mystery to this day how the six of them came to be best friends.
There was Cole, the quiet 'emo' kid that's mostly listening to his music but would still fight any bullies
There was Zane, the quiet nerd that always (and I mean always) gets perfect grades in all subjects but is still really freaking weird
There was Jay, nerdy clown that is financially poor and didn't have any friends despite being really friendly
There was the Smith siblings, Kai and Nya who were the most popular kids and admire by the whole school but still has a tendency to get into trouble.
Then there was Lloyd, the cute teacher's pet that is hated by most guys but is friendless because of his father being a well-known criminal.
Yeah, not really the kind of people you expect to be together.
Random Thoughts 11: Why Did You?
"Cole?" Jay called as he approached his best friend "You're not angry that Nya choose me, right?" He asked. The raven shook his head but had a sad smile on.
"No Jay, I didn't even like her like that" he admitted confusing the hell out of the lightning master
"Wait, if you didn't like her, then why did you?"
"To be honest, I don't really know." He left it at that because he could never tell his best friend that he had started catching feelings for the girl
The first thing Nya had told him when this whole disaster had started was that he wasn't appreciated enough. It made him happy to know that someone had noticed all his hard work and recognized him as being more than just a background character. That was when he would have been willing to see her more than the awesome sister she was to them.
However, he knew Jay had been harbouring feelings for her and ironically, it was Jay that pushed him to pursue her.
Jay had been a total jerk, acting like Cole had personally gone out his way to get Nya's attention when it was actually the opposite. But what really made the earth master mad was the fact that Jay was acting like Nya belonged to him or something and created stupid argument when Cole was just being the usual nice to her.
But despite that, Cole was still the one to back down as he would rather lose a lover that got feelings for him due to a machine telling her rather than a bestfriend he knew for a long time.
So did you guys enjoy it? There would have been more but I couldn't write anymore after learning of Kirby Morrow's passing... so I wrapped it up and decided to post it.
I thank all my reviewers and favorite-ers as well as followers, I'm sorry I don't have the energy to mention the names, I'll do it another time..
Now a little something for the most wonderful being of my childhood
Kirby Morrow was the best and most amazing voice actor to me and a real legend. He inspired me to try and become a voice actor myself and he will be missed incredibly. May he rest in peace.
Sorry about that guys, I just really admired that person and it hard to believe he's gone... he's a real childhood hero.
