When Zed finally came back to the basement, he told us all about his football tryouts and meeting the potential cheerleader.

"Foorball is stupid anyway," Eliza told Zed as we walked down the hallway.

"Ah, thanks for the pep talk." Zed sighed. Bonzo looked at us and said his comment in Zombie we all laughed. "Ha, very funny. You know, I think that Cheerleader likes me."

"Didn't she punch you in the face?" I asked him.

"Yeah," he confirmed and I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think there's something there. You know?" Zed ran to Eliza's side as we moved up the stairs.

"Look, present company excluded, humans are bad." Eliza told him.

"And cheerleaders are the worst of the bunch," I added. Eliza pushed Zed's shoulder so he'd see where Bonzo was writing on the wall.

"Things need to change." Eliza and I left the basement as Bonzo changed NO ZOMBIES to KNOW ZOMBIES.

That night, I was walking in Zombietown with my camera taking pictures of people and different things. I heard something coming from a fence that boarded off the Forbidden Forest.

"Hello?" I called out but heard nothing. I just shook my head clearing it as I turned and walked back home.

"Zoey! Zelda! Dinner!" I heard Dad call out and I picked up the pace to go home. We suddenly heard screaming outside and Dad looked at Zed.

"Go see what that is, will you?" Zed walked outside and looked around. "Everything okay out here?" Dad asked stepping outside. "Zed? Anybody there?" I looked out the window as Zed looked up at Dad.

"Uh, no. Nobody."

"Come on back inside then."

After dinner, I walked up to my room and took off my necklace and hung it next to my window like I did every night. I pulled out my sketch pad and started drawing under the glow of the moonlight.

"Hey, you okay?" I looked up to see Zed and smiled at him before shaking my head.

"Just wishing they'd give us a chance, you know?" I asked him and he sighed before coming in and sitting on my bed. "Just because we're different doesn't mean we're horrible people."

"I know what you mean. Remember that cheerleader I was telling you about?" he asked me and I nodded. "She was outside with a friend with eggs in her hands. Guess I was wrong about her."

"Well, you said she was just trying out for the team today, right?" I asked him.

"Yeah, so?"

"So maybe she was being told to do something she didn't want to do tonight?" I offered and he sighed looking down.

"I don't know, Zel."

"They judge us before they get to know us. If we do the same, what makes us better than them?" I asked him and he smiled at me.

"You know what Eliza would say to that."

"True, but Eliza doesn't know everything, Z."

"Don't tell that to her." We both laughed before he patted my shoulder and left my room.
