I love requests so please dear readers, don't hesitate! Request always give me a new perspective of things. For example, this one told me just how bad of a dad Lou was. He was the only dad who wasn't consumed by evil, kidnapped and enslaved and dead. And yet...

Warning: Pretty depressive, very very bad parenting, has the beginning of some mental conditions in there. Oh and lets not forget my grammar and writing style

Disclaimer:... Why do I even bother?

Request by NinjahoLover61-9: Lou and Cole having a conflict or something

(PS: I think I drifted off the original concept... oh well)

Shot 8: Silent Scream

Lou had always been hard on Cole and that ever since he was a mere child.

Lou stood next to the piano, listening intensely to the notes being played, nodding his head along. He hissed when the sweet melody got interrupted by a grave dark note. The five years old winced and immediately retreated his fingers from the board. He already knew what was to come, so he just sighed.

The father looked at his son sternly, reciting his long 'you are disappointing me' speech before demanding he start over again. Cole, on the other hand, was growing increasingly tired. They've been at this for a while now and his father still wasn't satisfied.

But the little raven didn't complain as he too was upset with his lack of skill

It only grew worst as he got older.

"No No and No!" Lou chastised, hitting his cane against the floor for extra emphasis. The sudden noised startled the 7 seven years old enough to make him lose his balance. He face planted against the wooden planks but apart from a redden face, there was no evidence the fall even happened. Cole had silently picked himself back up as his father continued listing what he was doing wrong.

Not even bothering to asked if his son was alright, Lou just ordered him to start the whole dance again. Demanding he start over again if he even made the slightest of mistake (such as his back not being straight enough, his moves being off the beats for even a second and ect...) because he expects no less than perfection from the boy that will continue the legacy of the Brookstones.

However, right now, his son's movements were getting more and more sluggish and clumsy.

"Cole, focus!" He told the boy but it only caused his to fall over again. The young raven was panting heavily and he only had enough strength to push himself into a sitting position. He had been dancing over the same song for over 3 hours and his dad still had a list of faults on him.

"Cole, I need more energy" his father assert, completely over looking his son's exhausted state.

"But, da-ah-d! I've hah been pra-ah-cting for hou-rs!" The young boy voiced out in between breaths. "I'm tir-ed. Can't I ta-ke a-ah bre-ak?"

Despite his plea, his father shook his head.

"Listen son, tomorrow is the great day. This is a one in a life time opportunity for you and there can be no room for mistake." His father explained without realizing that his son was slowly growing to hate dancing. "-nd we have yet to practice the Triple Tiger Shashay."

What could Cole say? His father was right, they didn't have much time and he was wasting the little they had complaining about needing a break. With a sigh, Cole forced himself to stand up and repeat the classic music's dancing steps...

"Again!"

But then again, his mother was here to listen.

The little 9 years old rushed home, all giddy and excited to show his father something that he was sure he would be proud of. And the best part, Cole was already really good at it. They even said he was a natural at it!

"Dad! Dad!" The raven called eagerly, while searching for said parent. He found his father along side his mother gardening in the backyard. "Look at what I learned!"

Cole enthusiastically showed his newest set of dance moves, (he really like these ones, they gave him more freedom and it was more like him) which much to the horror of Lou was break dancing.

Needless to say, his father's reaction wasn't want he was expecting at all.

"Where did you learn such disgrace!" The young boy's wide smile felt instantly at his fathers words. Instead of making him proud, he only made him mad. His sadness didn't go unnoticed by his mother (the only person that actually cared and wasn't trying to make him live their dreams). She shooed Lou away before embracing her son, telling him reassurance that she thought it was coolest thing she's ever seen

And like every time he was upset because of his father, Cole went for the comfort his mother provided. He'd cry in her arms and tell her the cause of every drop of tears. And she would listen, she always does.

Now, with her sick...

The 11 years old locked himself in his room where he laid, silently crying while music blasted through his headphones. He clutched his oversized hoodie (it's his mother's favorite as it had a large black tiger lily flower painting on the back) tighter as he struggled to stop the tears from falling.

Why was it everything he did, he end up disappointing his father? Just how much of a let down can someone even be?

And now, he felt worst than usual since his mom was sick. He couldn't go to her, it'll only worry her and she had enough to deal with.

He could deal with this alone, he was a big boy afterall

He'd bottle up his feelings

Whenever he was upset or mad or sad or frustrated or annoyed, Cole would lock himself in his room. However, he would either be listening to music while drawing or he would sneak out to spend his anger away surrounded by nature.

Of course, Lou was unaware of any inner turmoil going on with his son. The young raven was a pretty decent liar and actor, he played his card well and puts on a perfect mask. Add to the fact that they've never seen each other eye to eye...

It amazed Cole just how blind his father was when he was concern. He wanted so bad for his dad to realize how it was all an act. How his self-isolation was more than him just being a 'typical' teenager. How he desperately need help. And hos he didn't need to be someone else to gain his love...

But at the same time, he was terrified by the very idea. He didn't want his father to find out as much as he wants him too. He was too scared that his dad will only see another failure in him. He was disappointing enough as he was, he didn't want to lose whatever little love he still had.

But what happens when his emotions are too overwhelming?

He'd blow up.

All the pain and sadness would turned into pure frustration and he'd have a shouting match with his dad.

It was always about the same thing, dancing.

Lou's arguments were always the same thing too; it's for his own future

"What if I don't wanna be a dancer!" He screamed back, his face flushed red from anger. He finally admitted after years of holding those word back.

"You're speaking nonsense again. I've had enough of your attitude. You're a Brookstone, Cole, and you will become a dancer like our ancestors before us!" Lou's authoritative words finally silenced the young raven.

Said raven felt like crying over again. His dad wasn't giving him a choice in the matter and it was his damn future. However, the raven only grind his teeth and stomped to his room. But not before hearing his father mumbling a 'teenagers these days'

So what did you guys think? Let me know by reviewing!

PLEASE READ:

I have 2 question, which ninja do you guys relate the most and what song fits your character best?

PS: The title was base by the song Silent Scream by Anna Blue (female version) or by DamianDawn (male version). Its really nice and I think it fits Cole perfectly

YOU CAN NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO NOW

To Nuppa Nuppa: XD Thanks for your kind comment but tell me, who do you think Coal should spend time with first?

To Nyancatspacemeep: Eh, really? I thought it would be Zane because, well he is the smart and more perspective one (Not even counting Pixal) But, on the other side, Jay is Cole's best friend. Hum... And hey, that's a nice idea, it would indeed be funny if Coal was caught, oh I don't know, opening the fridge with glowing arms XD

To NinjagoLover61-9: Eh, you actually went through the trouble of reading them? Thank you so much! I'll make sure to elaborate the idea then. But, what did you think of this one? Up to your expectations?
