Today is my birthday. Enjoy.

Archer gritted his teeth in frustration. He never realized how much flour over a hundred fairy pies took, but after hauling sacks of it up from the basement, he had a better idea. Now sore and hungry, he was grateful most of the work was during the day.

Ally gave a soft smile at the boy now drenched in sweat, as she led him to a thick wooden door tucked away behind a display sign. The door led to another stairway, this time to the second floor. Archer held back a groan at the sight of more stairs.

As the pair climbed up, Ally released her palismin from her staff, and the small badger was now bounding up the stairs in an energetic fashion. The candles placed on the walls seemed to flick on as the creature strided upstairs. Archer blinked at the sight. Ally was stronger than she let on.

As they made it to the second floor, Archer was greeted with a mountain of plants, which seemed to wave from some unknown breeze to greet the trio. Ally, not one to waste time, gave a cheerful "hello!" to the plants, before striding to the kitchen located behind the table. The badger, Marma, pulled on Archer's flour-covered, bed-sheet cloak, leading him to another doorway. Already, it had a small sign on it labeled 'Archer.'

As he pushed himself through the door, he found he was in the frontmost room, with a window facing the street. Beneath the window laid a real bed, complete with a simple comforter and pillow set. A small closet laid on the side of the room along with a dresser. The whole room was plain, save for one picture frame placed in the corner, a wanted poster of Alathor the Great resting inside.

Shrugging in confusion at the strange souvenir, Archer flopped onto the bed, slowly nodding off before noticing the door swing open. The badger carried a tray of food. Dragon liver and onions. Archer smiled. Maybe he would like it here.
