Hey guys, I finally decided to make an actual book so here is the Prequel.
Warning: Despite being a kid show, this story is NOT suitable for little ones or soft natured people. It is bound to get really gory, graphic, and contains disturbing themes such as drugs, torture and so on. I'm practically inventing everything so don't think anything is true
Disclaimer: I own the idea, good enough...
PS; Apologies for my grammar, typing mistakes and writing style
Chap 1:Forgotten But Found (prequel)
Never loose sight of the true meaning of The Day Of The Departed. Today is about remembrance. Lanterns are lit in honor of ancestors and in order to settle debts.
After leaving the museum, the ninja went their separate ways in order to pay their respect to those they've lost and cherish those they still had.
However, they had a time limit. Ninjago's favorite band, the Royal Blacksmith, were performing a special concert tonight, and right after, the person with the best costume will win an award.
Now, ain't that just the best holiday ever?! The Ninjas completely agrees.
Although...
"Hurry up Kai!" Nya yelled, banging heavily on her brother's door, urging him to speed the heck up.
Kai seems dead set on making the team late...for the second time that night...
"5 more minutes!" Kai shouted back but the raven only huffed in irritation "You said that half an hour ago! We're gonna be late! If you don't come out now, I'm breaking the door down and dragging you out, ready or not!"
Her threat seems to have worked perfectly. Barely a second later, her brother was out his room. The latter knew not to take her threats lightly and that was experience talking. In their younger days, Nya would not only follow by her threat, but would probably do worst.
"Geez, yo-" He didn't get the opportunity to complain as the water ninja literally dragged him unto the deck, not even slowing down at the steps and that could have cost Kai greatly. Running around with a long ass cape is more dangerous than it looks cool.
"Finally!" Jay exclaimed as the crossed the wooden doors "What took so long?" Nya only gestured to Kai with an irritated sigh and the lightning ninja realized just how dumb his question was.
"Riiiiiight."
On the bright side, the red ninja's costume does look worth every hours he spent getting ready. He was disguised as a very realistic vampire (he even painted his tan skin into a sick white tone), since according to him, chicks goes crazy for them. He was proven right when the picture he taken barely 10 minutes ago on InstaGo had reached over 100 likes.
Although, he wasn't the only one with cool realistic costume. The whole ninja team awaited Halloween with impatience and fortunately, the lack of foe had given them more than enough time to prepare themselves to perfection. Each were confident about winning the Best Costume Award
Lloyd had dressed up into a skeleton, earning a couple of laughs around as it reminded them of the blond's clothing choice when he was a little brat. Good old memories.
Still in the monster category, Zane was disguised as a mummy (the others refused he goes around as a nindroid because that would be cheating) and Jay and Nya were disguised as a wizard and witch couple (it was the water master's way to make amends for giving hell to the redhead, especially after the whole drama with Nadakan)
"Everyone ready?" The blue wizard asked, but despite receiving all positive answers, they weren't as enthusiastic as they should be.
For some reason, the team was expecting to see someone dressed as a werewolf. But the weird part was that they were expecting a completely different person to be the night monster, yet still on the team. It happened quite often. They would regularly feel like something or more precisely, someone was missing.
But it didn't make any sense. There wasn't a 6th ninja.
They never knew the origin of mysterious lack of a certain presence in their lives, but if they ignore it, the nostalgic feeling would be gone within minutes, if not seconds. And that's exactly what happened when Lloyd said
"May the best costume win"
The party was lit.
The crowd was dancing, cheering and singing along with the melody of their favorite group without a care in the world.
For once, it wasn't the ninja themselves that attracted most of the attention, but their crafty, unique, realistic and magnificent costume. Everyone praised them and some were even betting on who they think will will the conquest. However, that didn't mean they didn't have competition. Ninjago had a lot of talented people, including Timothy, the unbeatable costume master.
This festival was sure to be memorable.
The night was going smoothly and before they knew it, they were witnessing the Ying Yang eclipse.
It was truly breath taking. The moon had taken an unnatural shade of green and black, keeping the two colors perfectly balanced.
Their amazement was shorted lived as a sudden explosion from an unknown location, sent a powerful shockwave all across the country. Most citizens remained unaffected, but to a certain group of people, it was a different story,
The members of the Royal Blacksmith and the whole ninja team (including Wu, Misako and P.I.X.A.L) all were hit a thunderous headache that forced them onto their knees. They could barely hold in the agonizing scream that threatened to escape their throats. Memories of events that had once been forcefully ripped away, flashed before their eyes at lightning speed. They tore at their hair, as the images and sounds blurred and mixed all together, yet was still individually identifiable.
Fortunately, the paranormal activity didn't last long, but it still left those affected highly disoriented along with a lingering aching.
But alas, it was the least of their worries. The painful display of souvenirs had solved the mystery puzzle.
None of the ninja dared say a word as the new piece of information was still sinking in. Instead they spare a glance at the one singer who was kneeling on the stage, a hand cradling part of his face as tears rans across his cheeks. The Royal Blacksmith, despite the distance separating them, made eye contact with the ninja.
His mahogany eyes were dulled, filled with sorrow, regret, fear, pain, worry and a hint of anger. While the ninja were also in a similar state, they weren't anywhere near the level of that of a single father who just discovered he had forgotten his own flesh and blood for nearly a whole year. He whispered 3 words, but the ninja didn't need to hear them to know what they were.
"Where's my son?"
But that didn't mean they had the answer. They shamefully bowed their head.
They had forgotten Cole for almost a year, he could be anywhere!
Actually, how did they even forgot him and when?
If they recall right, the last mission they recall doing with the earth master was when they went to Yang's temple to get the scroll of Airjutsu.
YANG'S TEMPLE!
The 5 elemental masters rushed into the bounty, setting course towards the floating temple. Of course, there was a chance that Cole wouldn't be there, but a little hope never hurt anyone. In addition, they had no other lead.
They briefly wonder what could caused them to forget about the black ninja. You just don't magically forget about a brother who shed blood, sweat and tears for you... or maybe you do! Maybe not with magic, but a curse. Wasn't there a legend about the cursed Airjutsu temple? According to Zane's memory data, the tour guide girl had mentioned that anyone trapped within the temple's walls would be turned into a ghost.
Could this be what happened to the earth master? And what was that shock waved they've felt? What does it mean?
Looks like the questions can wait, they've reached their destination. They let down the anchor and slide down the chains, landing softly on the floating earth piece. They didn't have to search long, but the sight that greeted them was far from what they expected.
"Morrow!"
That is all for today my friends.
