"Hey! What about me? I could be a werewolf" exclaims an indignant Stiles everyone else lets out a collective disbelieving snort.
"There's no way you're a werewolf, you're too clumsy" Harry replies. Stiles just lets out an offended huff and pouts to himself.
Harry thinks it's quite cute. As if he could sense the direction of his thoughts (probably smelt the chemo-signals) Derek glares at him.
"Damn Stilinski, he has only known you one day and already knows you so well"
Harry smirks and Derek continues to glare.
"Which brings us back to, how exactly are you acquainted with Stiles?"
Silence.
He faced Voldemort, a thousand-year-old Basilisk, Dementors and god knows what else, Harry is not afraid of Derek Hale.
Yet his throat is suddenly dry, and he really wants to run away.
#
He doesn't end up running away, partly because Harry takes that Gryffindor bravery to heart and he is no coward but mostly it's because his formerly dead best friend otherwise known as Peter Hale takes a small step to his left, so the man's body is covering the door, blocking Harry's only means of escape. The green-eyed saviour seriously wishes that the creepy little fucker was actually dead so he couldn't be here right now already making Harry's life just that little bit more difficult especially considering the v-neck-wearing motherfucker had only been back in it for about ten minutes.
It had to be a new record for the man.
The worse thing was, Peter knew exactly what he was doing as was made evident by the smug smirk on his face when he saw Harry realise there was no way out. Harry could admit though he was being the tiniest bit dramatic as everyone in the room knew exactly how he was acquainted with Stiles, and they most definitely could smell just what they had been up to last night and part of this morning. He was surprised however that neither Hale had commented on the fact that it was also clear to them that Jackson was also involved with his late-night shenanigans. Though if Harry knew when he woke up this morning that he would be stuck in a room full of werewolves that had enhanced sense of smell he would have showered a little bit more thoroughly than he did and thrown in a cleaning charm on top of that for extra measure.
"Yes Harry, my dear friend do enlighten us on just how you know our beloved Stiles" Peter prompts from his place still propped up against the hotel room's door, and Harry had never hated the man more not even the time the wolf had dragged him on a wild goose chase through the preserve of his hometown that eventually led to the younger somehow breaking both his arms in a fall and an epic scolding for both of them from Talia Hale, Peter's late older sister and Alpha.
Before Harry could respond to his traitor of a friend, Stiles steps up in exasperation to state "Look, Derek, you clearly know that we had sex, so stop being such a sour wolf both of us are consenting adults"
There is a beat of silence before anyone speaks let alone moves in response to Stiles and surprise surprise, that it is Peter who opens his mouth first. The man is completely incapable of keeping it close for more than a few minutes and Harry could do without his so-called help, the little shit often makes things worse for the wizard. The time that the man first met his loving family comes to mind, to say that the Dursley finally found someone they hated more than Harry would be generous, although it was quite funny that the wolf just about made his cousin piss and shit his pants simultaneously.
"Yes, dear nephew stop being such a sour wolf"
The whole room collectively rolls their eyes at the elder wolf, done with the man's shit before he could even really get started. Derek then does what everyone in the room was thinking by punching his uncle unconscious, the punch in itself is quite spectacular, Harry thinks to himself, admiring the so-called sour wolf's form. There is a beat of silence before they decide to ignore the now unresponsive wolf, Harry does indicate to Stiles though to help him move the man from the floor onto a chair so at the very least he was somewhat comfortable.
Thankfully before Derek can restart his inquisition once they get Peter situated, Harry's phone blares through the monetary silence stopping the wolf in his tracks, talk about being saved by the bell or in this case a ringtone. Harry holds up a finger to the rest of the room's occupants to signify he needs a minute before answering o the phone call.
"Potter, speaking"
"Sir, it's Matt from the front desk, there is a situation downstairs that requires your assistance"
It takes Harry a minute to place the speaker even with the man's introduction, he employs over a hundred people, and he couldn't be expected to remember every single one at first glance or in this case first thought.
"Hmm, what seems to be the problem Matthew" Repetition always helped him to remember names or even random facts, shame it never did help when he was still at Hogwarts.
"Emm, well there is a young lady is claiming to be your wife and demanding to see you right away, I didn't know you were married, sir?"
There is both a questioning and disbelieving tone to Matt's question and for a brief moment, Harry shakes his head in confusion before the clarity smacks him in the face.
Ginny.
That girl would just not give up, always a plan or some thought from her childhood fantasy of them being together and riding off into the sunset in some happily-ever-after delusion. Which over Harry's dead body is that ever going to happen, but he's got Molly Weasley's bedtime stories to thank for her daughter's persistence. He thanks Merlin and mother magic that he has employed someone so observant and smart to man the reception as the man is not buying Ginny's lies and cries of attention, he shudders to think of what would happen if Matt had just let her up instead of calling him first. As it is judging by both Derek's and Stiles' faces, he has got a lot of explaining to do once the situation is dealt with, how Stiles even managed to hear what was happening is a mystery for another day, Jackson, on the other hand, looks like he could not care less.
"Give me a couple of minutes, please let her know that I will be right down"
Harry replies all whilst avoiding looking back to Derek and Stiles despite not being true his reply all but confirmed that he was married.
"Yes sir, right away Mr Potter"
Harry goes to hang up the call when a thought comes to him. "Oh, and Matt please inform security about the situation, I expect them to be there before I arrive" He Hangs up before the man can reply and leaves the room before anyone can stop him, rushing back towards the elevators. He does hear them start to come after him and Peter waking up and asking what was going on.
By the time he does get downstairs and makes his way to the reception area, Ginny has only got angrier, and he can see the security guards trying to herd her towards the exit whilst avoiding her failing arms, so they didn't get punched in the face. They're lucky Harry thinks to themselves that they are muggles her bat-Boogey hexes are far worse than her punches.
He nods towards both the guards and Matt to signal that he will handle it from here as he makes his way towards his former girlfriend. "Ginny, what are doing here?" He asks thinking it best to just get straight to the point instead of placating her, as he just does not have the time or patience to put up with her schemes and temper tantrums
"Harry, finally! Something is wrong. Something is wrong with the baby" She shrieks and the whole reception goes quiet, so the opening ding of the elevator and the gasp someone instead lets out is heard letting him know that Stiles and co had finally arrived.
