I sprinted through the city with Jak and Daxter on my tail, entering the Underport while shooting through hordes of Metalheads. The gun felt heavy in my hand and my body ached. I really didn't have time to recover from my stint at the fortress, one of my ribs most likely broken. But I pushed through. We had to find Sig and put a stop to the Metalhead attack. Or more people were going to get hurt. We rounded the corner to see Sig firing his gun rapidly at the enemies.

"Hey there tough guy." Jak greeted, which was a mistake as Sig fired a shot at us, we both ducking. What was with us constantly getting shot at?

"Get your skinny asses over here and start shooting!" He yells, both of us running over and firing at the waves of Metalheads.

"Nice to see you still in one piece." I said, getting a few head shots with my rifle.

"Damn was I set up. Krew sent me down here to open some old doors with that ruby key you found and when I did, metalheads came streaming in from some passage outside the city walls. It was like they were waitin for me."

"There's one!" I pointed out as he fired, knocking it over.

"Krew's dead." Jak told Sig.

"Yeah? Well, he's lucky. He would not want me to catch him alive."

"The metalheads must've promised Krew plenty for him to betray the whole city like this." Daxter added as I fired another shot, catching one in its face and knocking it into another.

"Krew was an awful person and deserved every shot." I spat out in distain.

"Let's get out of here." Jak said, Daxter and I nodding in agreement. Sig led the front and I went up the rear, shotting at anything approaching us.

"This is getting out of hand." I said as I continued to shoot, making our way through the underport slowly but surely. We rounded the corner, the wall near us shaking.

"What now?" Daxter asked as the wall broke, showing us a giant centipede like metalhead.

"Oh, what's with the bugs?!" I exclaimed, shotting at it.

"Save your ammo, pipsqueak! Shooting at it will only make it mad! Run!" Sig yelled as we ran down the hallway with it chasing us.

"I hate this so much!" I yelled, "Now I know how Daxter felt with the spider!"

"Thank you for that Zoe." Daxter piped up from Jak's shoulder as we ran.

"At least you get to sit safely on jak's shoulders." I pointed out, we approaching a very unstable walkway. I managed to get to it first, Sig behind me. It crumbled as Jak crossed it, he jumping just in time for me to grab his hand the metalhead falling into the abyss below.

"Help me Sig!" I exclaimed as my body began to burn, the injury causing my body to strain under his weight. With sig's help we pulled both boys up. I collapsing on the ground in exhaustion.

"You Okay Zoe?" Jak asked.

"We're even now." I gasped out.

"I guess so." Jak said as he looked over at Sig.

"Come on you kids, we need to keep moving." Sig says as Jak helps me stand.

"Right. And we're not kids. Not anymore." I said to him as I loaded my gun. Jak nodded, we taking a slow pace due to my slowed speed.

"You sure you're okay?" Sig asked after a few moments, he behind us.

"I… not really. I think I broke a rib. Or two." I held my side as sig and Jak covered us.

"What? How? When?" Jak asked.

"Uh. I got in a fight. And lost." I said, my pride hurting more than my body.

"With who?" Daxter asked.

"Not important. Let's keep moving before- "But I was cut off by the wall beside us crumbling as that thing crawled out and started to chase us again.

"Great. Here comes that bad boy again. Move!" Sig yelled as we ran, my body hating me for it. Why did I agree to this? Why didn't I go on the balloon with Both Samos' and Keira? I groaned as I ran, the metalhead on our tail. I didn't know what was worse, an army of them or this thing. Jak and I managed to jump onto a platform, nearing the exit. We also managed to outrun the damn thing.

"Let's go we're almost to the elevator!" Jak exclaimed as we watched Sig approach.

"Looks like we finally lost them Chili peppers. Piece of cake, huh?" Sig asked as Jak and I were gasping for breath.

"I… do not want to do that again. Fair?" I asked, standing up straight.

"Now you three are real wastelanders. I say its time to take this fight to the metalhead leader himself. What a trophy he'll be. We find a way to juice up Mar's old gun and then boom, baby! We storm the nest guns blazin'! Hell, we'll take them on all together! All of us, side by side! Nothing will stop us cuz we'll-"but he was cut off by the wall exploding, the creature shooting its way out the wall and attacking Sig. The platform he was standing on collapsed, and he and the creature fell below.

"Sig!" All three of us exclaimed, Jak and Daxter reaching out. I covered my mouth, tearing up.

"No!" I cried out. He was like family. He told me that I wasn't the monster I believed I was. Jak pulled me into a hug as I cried into his shoulder.

"C'mon Z." He said after a minute. "We need to finish this." I wiped my face, finding a new strength in Jak's words.

"You're right. Let's go."

We approached the construction site, where we saw the Baron and a few guards walk off. We needed to end this. The Three of us Ran towards them, being stopped by Kor jumping between us.

"Kor. What's going on?" Jak asked the old man, he standing.

"I'm sure you know. Deep down in your darkest nightmares." He growled, approaching us and face converting to sharp teeth and dark eyes. "We've met before, remember? Everything is going exactly as planned." He chuckles, shuffling off to the side. Wait a minute… It couldn't be. He laughs evilly, growing wings and emitting a bright light before he shredded the old man body and transforming into the creature we saw before we came here.

"Jak! It's the metalhead leader!" Daxter exclaimed.

"Now you see… Without the shield wall disrupting my powers inside the city I am my full potential now! So, for the last time… give me the precursor stone!" He yelled at the baron, who I totally forgot was there. I grabbed Jak's arm instinctively, slightly terrified.

"If the city must die, then we all die!" The Baron yelled, pointing his blade at the Metalhead leader. He charged with a battle cry, Kor simply shotting a beam of energy at him, knocking him and all his guards into a crate of sorts.

"I will find that stone! Even if I have to crush this city one brick at a time!" Kor yells, flying off. Jak and I ran to the Baron, uncovering him from the rubble.

"You… are the supreme weapons and I made you. Still…" He rolls over on his back. "any leader worth his salt always has his backup plan." He says as he presses a button, a bomb emerging from the ground.

"Remember, the first rule of making a bomb… is to always make two..." He says as he collapses, possibly dead. Jak and I looked over.

"ahh okay I'm going in! Man, what a mess of junk in here. All Jumbled cords and switches. OH, should I unhook the blue wire? Wait a minute! Are ottsels colorblind? Let me just break a few more things in here to see if anything pops loose. Boom! Hahah!" Daxter exclaimed, going into the bomb and promptly loosened the stone, jumping down. "Like candy from a baby!" he says, Jak grabbing the Stone and we ran off, leaving the baron behind.

********(later)*****

Jak, Daxter and I fought through waves of metalheads, blowing a hole through the nest with Mar's gun and making our way inside. The adrenaline pumping through my body alongside the dark eco made me forget the pain, I focusing all my pent-up anger towards these creatures. Who knew that the simple girl from a village would fight monsters in a dystopian, tyrant ran city and that her two best friends would be fighting by her side? I didn't care what happened after this. I knew that I wanted to be by Jak's Side through it all. No matter the cost. No matter if we were apart for days, hours or even years w would always end up together. That was the best part. The three of us entered the cave where we believed Kor was hiding, and we were right.

"Finally… you've decided to join us." Kor says as he revealed the sleeping kid in a bubble of sorts.

"Let him go!" I demanded.

"You brought the Precursor stone, good. The boy will now play his final part." Kor says.

"Not this time!" jak demanded.

"Oh, but this child is such a part of this. Such a part of you. Don't you recognize him? The boy is you, Jak!" Kor exclaims, Jak and I looking shocked. I knew I had a familiar felling when I saw him.

"This place… is where you began. In the future!"

"But how?" Jak asked, looking down at the stone.

"You were hidden in the past in the hope that you would gain the skills you need to face me today. But Onin was wrong. Now that you've been altered with Dark eco, the stone won't open for you. Your younger self, however, still has the pure gift. He alone can awaken the stone and the precursor entity that sleeps inside." Kor explained.

"This stone is a precursor?" Jak asked.

"The last Precursor egg." I spoke. Kor laughs.

"She's right. Mar was clever. He hid his tracks well through time, hiding his last egg from me, building the shield and the city, to defend it. It has been a long siege, but today I will finally feed on the last Precursor life force!" Kor exclaimed.

"Uh, I think you're forgetting one little thing metal-o-maniac! We got the Precursor stone!" Daxter yelled.

"Not for long!" Kor yelled as he shot his beam at us, I pulling Jak and Daxter enough do it hit the ground beside us, collapsing the floor into rubble and burying us. But that just made me angry. I dug my way out.

"Jak?! Daxter?!" I yelled. I saw a spark of dark eco energy emanate from behind me, Dark Jak leaping from the rubble. I smiled, Pulling out my gun.

"Die!" Kor yelled before growling, we both starting to fight. Jak using his dark eco powers, I shooting at him.

"Come on you ugly bug! You wanna fight? I'll give you a fight!" I yelled, running up a ramp and using a nearby rock as a stand for my gun, firing a few shots with the scope, careful not to hit Jak. He launched Beams at us, Unsure on who to attack. He settled on Jak, a mistake ignoring me. I shot off a few more rounds, running out of ammo quick.

"Daxter! Toss me ammo!" I yelled out, He going into Jak's bag and dashing up to me, handing me the clip.

"Do you have a plan once you run out of ammo?" Daxter asked over the fight.

"Yeah. I take a page outta Jak's book." I shrugged as I loaded the clip.

"But can you control it?" Daxter asked, "I'm all for a Dark eco beat down featuring my two best friends, but you might get hurt."

"I… don't need to control it for too long." I said as I ducked, rubble flying towards us as Kor swept his gross tail across some stalactites. "You missed!" I taunted him as I fired a few rounds into his back. He growled, turning his attention to me.

"Great Zoe! What's your plan now?" Daxter asked as he fired a beam at me, I grabbing Daxter and rolled out of the way.

"Run." I said, sliding back down the ramp towards Jak. Daxter jumped on Jak's shoulders, I lighting up one of my arms with Eco and fired it at Kor, it exploding on impact.

"Nice shot, Z!" Daxter yelled.

"Yeah, but I lost my gun." I said sadly, It under rubble. Jak leaped up, clawing Kor across the chest as I threw another ball of eco. Kor was looking tired. I suddenly got an idea.

"Jak. Eco bomb." I spoke. "Get up there and wait till I'm on the other side. We hit him. Together." Jak sprinted p the left ramp, I taking the right. I closed my eyes, focusing on the anger. He betrayed us, took the kid and destroyed our home. My body warmed up, arms burning as dark eco ran up my entire body. I opened my eyes to see Jak look at me. I nodded.

"What are you two doing?" Kor demanded but it was too late. Jak and I jumped off our platforms at the same time, charging up the Eco to immense levels, ready to end this. Our foots connected to Kor's Face, knocking him to the ground and letting the eco go, a miniature explosion going off in the nest. We rolled off, the eco leaving our bodies and reverting back to normal. Kor exploded, head rolling and landing near us. Jak stood, helping me up. The kid emerged from his bubble, running and hugging me.

"Hey." I said, letting him go as he approached the stone, poking it. The Precursor emerged, the boy falling back.

"Oh man a precursor."

"It is finished. The ancient enemy is no more. Take hope brave ones. A terrible darkness inside you is now balanced by a glowing light. We will meet again." He said as he entered the rift gate. The balloon with both Samos' and Keira flew in right as he disappeared.

"We haven't much time. I've set the coordinates back to our village. Let's go home everyone."

"But we are home." Jak said. I nodded in agreement.

"Keira, I'm afraid your rift rider must be used to send young jak here to a place he will grow up safe from harm. He must become old enough to complete the destiny he has fulfilled today." Old Samos said as Jak helped his younger self up.

"Wait a minute, It's you... I mean it's me! I have to take him back and watch over him, don't I? Ah Grub roots. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time." Young Samos spoke.

"Hey kid, you take care. Oh! And trust me on this. Stay away from any wumpbee nest on your ninth birthday., okay?" Jak asks, leaning down to talk to him.

"Here Kid. A girl will come into your life soon. Make sure you give this to her, okay? It's important to her." I said, handing him the necklace around my neck. He took it, putting it in his pocket and I hugged him, Jak lifting him onto the Rift Rider.

"I do hope I built this replica right." Keira says as the young Jak hands His older self the necklace around his neck.

"It's perfect Keira. This is the very machine we found. Or, will find later."

"What? I just built this! After seeing the first one, I mean. It's based off of what I remember- "

"Honey, the more you think about it, the more it hurts the head." Daxter said.

"I'm getting a headache from it." I admitted.

"I'll take good care of the child and don't worry! I'll be back in time for the celebration! Farewell!" Young Samos said as they flew into the rift, the young Jak waving until we didn't see him again. I sighed.

"Thanks Samos. If it wasn't for you, I'd."

"It's funny. The boy won't remember any of this." Samos said.

"Well, I do remember the light." Jak says, I placing my arm around his shoulder as we watched the rift ring fall apart. It was a tough fight but we managed, growing stronger as a team. Maybe the Precursor was right about the light in us. But as I looked at Jak, I knew that Onin was right. I would find my light in the most unexpected place. Because Jak was my light. And I was never going to let it die out.
