For everyone that's questioning why I'm not going through the regular Attack on Titan plotline I want you to remember that this is my story, this is a fanfiction and I do not own or even want to own Attack on Titan. the story is just for fun and I might change things up because that's how I want them to be.
on that note, I killed her mom in the O.G. timeline because I have plans for it. if you don't like it don't read it.
Good things to remember about my story not the plot line of the actual show- Sasha's mother is no longer alive before the time skip but will be after. - Connie and Sasha were dating before Sasha died. - I'm not caught up after episode 9 of the new season so I don't know anything about what's going on right now mostly for the convenience of this story. - if something else comes up I will let you guys know.
Connie held Sasha in his arms as he yelled for help. Reiner, who was already next to them, quickly took her out of his arms and placed her on the ground next to them to make sure she had a good steady flow of blood going around her body. Armin quickly ran over and started to check her. She was warm and her heart was beating wildly even though she was unconscious.
"...She was fine a couple of minutes ago," Armin stared as he studied his 'friend'. "Connie, was she acting strangely recently?" he asked Connie, who looked worried.
"Not from what I can tell... She was fine before she went unconscious," Connie stated as Mikasa came up behind him. She placed a relaxing hand on his shoulder trying to calm him down. He needed to calm down now in case something went wrong. "I mean, she has been acting rather odd lately," he said as he started to think back to the last 3 days.
"Odd how?" Armin asked him.
"I think she's been stressed because of graduation," Connie said, trying to hide the fact that she's been giving him information on her hunches. "She told me how nervous she was yesterday... She said she wanted to join the scouts."
"Did she get any other injuries that we don't know about?" Mikasa asked.
"She faced the Colossal Titan when it appeared..." Connie stated, causing everyone to a gasp around the room. "And I also noticed that when she hit the Titan she seemed to hit it really hard, and she couldn't use her maneuver gear downstairs."
"I'll check her maneuver gear now," Bertholdt offered as he walked up to Sasha and started to take off her maneuver gear. Armin nodded and helped him before taking off his jacket and making it a temporary pillow for Sasha.
"It looks like she has burns all over her body," Mikasa said as she took off Sasha's jacket after Bertholt moved away. Armin started to look over her wounds as everyone in the room looked worried. They were still in shock that she faced the Colossal Titan and didn't mention it to anyone, much less that she was injured.
"We need to get her to the medics immediately," Armin said as he looks up to Reiner. "She could have internal bleeding that we don't know about, and I don't know how to check for that," Armin stated. He knew the basics of medicine, but he never properly studied for it. The schools were too expensive, especially since they all were in the interior where all the rich and powerful lived.
"Are we going to get out of here?" Reiner asked as he looked at Sasha. "I can't carry her alone, much less with all the Titans surrounding the area. That's basically a death wish."
"I know..." Armin said as he started to think. "Let's go check on the Titan... If he's cleared enough of the regular Titans we could make this work," he stated. Everyone nodded and only Connie and Marco stayed behind to watch over Sasha.
"What do you think is wrong with her?" Marco asked Connie once they were alone.
"I'm not sure; she's been acting... super weird recently..."
"What do you mean?" Marco asked, "I mean, of course I've noticed that she's been distancing herself more recently, but you're really close to her..."
"I don't know... Can you promise me something?" Connie asked as he looked up at Marco. He needed to get it off his chest.
"Sure, what is it?" Marco looked worried as he replied to Connie.
"She's been telling me that she's been having all these bad feelings recently, and I have a feeling that she knew about the Colossal Titan appearing," Connie blurted out. Marco looked shocked at the claim, but let him continue anyways. "I mean, when the Colossal Titan appeared, she instantly knew that it was about to appear even before it got there... And she even warned everyone. I don't think anybody else noticed other than me because she gave me the warning the day before, but... I'm not sure, I think I'm just paranoid, but she also told me something else."
"What did she tell you?" by now Marco had a paranoid look on his face. He had known something was bothering Sasha, but he just didn't know what and he didn't know how to bring it up. And to hear these words coming from her best friend really scared him.
"She told me to stay clear of Bertholdt, Reiner, and Annie. She said she has a bad feeling that something is going to happen if things don't go well... I feel like she knows something about them that we don't."
"What makes you say that?" Marco asked nervously.
"Ever since the incident last year... she has either been staring at them or glaring at them. I mean, I get Reiner can be an asshole sometimes but... To go from friendly terms to pure hatred in one day? I just want to know what's going on."
"If you want, I can try to keep an eye on them... make sure nothing goes wrong," Marco offered.
"I don't want to place a burden on you... Sasha trusted me to hold this information... And I feel like something bad will happen if I don't listen to her."
"I'll see what information I can get..." Marco offered. "If anything bad happens, I'll make sure to go straight to Jean." Marco looked down at Sasha, asking himself why she would keep so many secrets.
Just then the door opened quickly with Jean calling out for Marco and Connie. Both teenagers turned around and nodded to Jean, letting him know that they were listening. He gave them a confused glance, wondering what they were talking about to make them look so... paranoid, but pushed the thought out of his head.
"The Titan was Eren, we have to go now!" Jean yelled. "They have the gates blocked already and they want us all inside the inner wall immediately. I informed them that we had a critically injured cadet and they told us to hurry up and take them to the inner wall because all the sickrooms are getting fuller and fuller," Jean said as he picked up Sasha. Both teenagers nodded and followed after him, making sure that their ODM gear was ready with gas.
"All cadets are to be ready with their equipment and stand by!" Sasha heard as she slowly started to wake up. She was a little confused as to when she fell asleep, but slowly stirred in her bed.
"So that's how we managed to refill our gas and get out of Trost," Sasha heard Connie say. He was talking to someone and she didn't know who, but she didn't really have the strength to move and open her eyes.
"I'm so sorry..." Sasha heard Krista say. "We requested to send reinforcements for you."
"We even managed to secure some gas," Ymir stated in the background.
"Wait, then the people who aren't here at all..."
"Yeah..." Sasha heard Connie say sadly.
"Even Mikasa?" Ymir asked.
"No... I thought Mikasa came back late with Jean and the others?"
"Jean! Don't tell me Mikasa was wounded," Ymir asked. Sasha really wanted to know what was going on, but she couldn't move. She could finally move her hands and feet a little bit, but it hurt a lot to move anything else.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Connie asked. He was probably talking to Jean.
"We were sworn to keep it a secret..."
"Secret?"
"What the hell?"
"It's hardly something they can keep covered up though... Soon all of mankind will know about it... If mankind survives long enough that is..." Jean finished.
It was silent after that, before Krista turned her attention to Sasha, who was laying down on a makeshift bed behind everyone.
"What happened to Sasha?" Sasha heard her ask.
"She was injured throughout the entire thing... She didn't say anything until she passed out."
"... What happened... Is she going to be okay?" Krista asked Connie.
"They told us that she should rest for the next couple of days, but..."
"How did she get injured?" Ymir asked.
"She faced off against the Colossal Titan," Jean stated, jumping in. He was glaring ahead, not looking at anyone. Krista and Ymir looked shocked as they stared at him, before turning their attention back to Sasha. "Apparently the steam from the Colossal Titan burnt her so bad it started to affect her maneuver gear when we attacked the Titans that were in the HQ."
"Wait, but..." Kirsta started.
"The maneuver gear is supposed to be built to withstand the heat that all Titans produce," Ymir stated, remembering her training.
"... We don't know either... " Connie said as he looked at his friend. He was paying more attention and noticed when her hand moved slightly. "Sasha, can you hear me?" he asked, getting everyone's attention. Quickly, everyone got up and went to Sasha's side as they saw her move her hands and legs.
"Step back," Reiner ordered as he pushed everyone back so that the medical team could get to Sasha. Once they were done, they gave her some water and helped her sit up a little bit. She was in pain, but she could at least finally open her eyes and move a little bit more.
"Are you feeling all right?" Krista asked her with a worried expression on her face. Sasha just nodded before drinking more of the water, feeling more dehydrated than before.
"Do you need anything... does anything hurt?" Marco asked worriedly. He had been silent during the whole exchange as he was beyond worried about her. Sasha shook her head and smiled at them.
"My... throat... hurts," she whispered out.
"Don't worry about it... You're going to be sitting out for the next raid against the Titans in Trost," Jean stated as he handed her water.
"No!" Sasha yelled before lapsing into a coughing fit. Connie slightly patted her back, trying to help her to breathe a little bit easier.
"Captain's orders," Jean stated once she calms down. She shook her head but didn't argue anymore. She was going to be on the front lines whether they liked it or not.
Suddenly, a lot of commotion was heard from the gate of the wall. Screams echoed as steam started to come up from beyond the houses next to the gate. Before anyone could react, Sasha was up from the makeshift bed and running right behind Jean, Bertholdt, Annie, and Reiner.
They all quickly ran to see what was happening over the houses and saw how much steam was coming from that one spot. People around them panicked, asking so many questions about what was going on or why there was cannon fire inside the walls.
"I hope it's not... Titan steam" Jean said as Sasha ran up behind him. He still hadn't noticed her yet and looked up, shocked, as next to him, Reiner look panicked. Sasha didn't look at them for long before Reiner used his maneuver gear to jump on top of the building with Annie and Bertholdt following. Jean was about to go after them, only to be pushed to the side as Sasha climbed crates to get onto the roof of one of the buildings to follow after them without her gear.
"Sasha, hold on!" Connie cried as he used his maneuver gear to climb after her. Jean followed after them, trying to get a better assessment of what was going on.
Everyone quickly ran with Reiner taking the lead towards where the steam was coming from. Connie and Jean were shocked to see Sasha jumping from building to building without her maneuver gear. She looked natural as she jumped between buildings.
"What is going on down there?" Reiner asked as everyone stared at the misshapen Titan on the ground.
"Be vigilant! It's too risky to approach it just yet!" they heard one of the commanders yell out. He looked almost scared as he tried to give out orders. "Stay on guard and hold your positions!" he yelled as he panicked.
Nothing happened for the next couple of minutes and Connie quickly went to Sasha.
"Sasha," he called her name. She did not respond to him and just glared ahead at where she knew Eren was with Armin and Mikasa. "SASHA!" Connie cried as he shook her. Reiner turned and gave her a confused glance before turning back to the Titan that was in front of them.
Sasha quickly turned around and faced Connie, who looked worried and panicked as he watched her panicked expression. She let out a breath before turning to face forward again. She really did look like a soldier right now, but Connie was more worried about her health than that.
Jean looked at them and then at the Titan. By the expression that Sasha had on her face, he knew that she knew something... He was going to ask her about it later.
Screams and shouts were heard as Armin ran out of the steam and started to make a speech.
"EREN IS NOT A FOE OF HUMANITY! We're willing to cooperate with military commands and share everything we've learned about his powers!" Armin yelled as he got everyone's attention. Sasha was silent.
"YOUR PLEAS FALL ON DEAF EARS!" Soldier yelled.
"He revealed his true form, and because of that, I'm afraid he cannot leave here alive! If you insist he's not an enemy of ours, show me proof! Otherwise, we'll blast him out of whatever nightmare he crawled out of!" the commander yelled as everyone stared at him.
"You don't need any proof! The fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter what we perceive him to be!" Armin yelled back.
"What?!"
"The reports say hundreds of soldiers saw him. And those who were there say they saw him fighting other Titans! And that means they saw him get swarmed by the Titans as well. To put it plainly, the Titans saw him the same way they see every human being: as their prey! AND IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW ELSE YOU MAY LOOK AT IT, THAT IS AN IRREFUTABLE FACT!" slowly, people started to understand Armin's point of view. They understood what he meant.
"PREPARE TO ATTAAAAAACK! DON'T LET YOURSELF BE SWAYED BY HIS CUNNING LIES!" the commander yelled as he saw people starting to agree with Armin. Everyone went back into a tense position, ready to attack Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. "The Titans' behaviors have always been beyond our comprehension. I wouldn't put it past them to assume human form. He's speaking our language and attempting to deceive us! I REFUSE TO LET THEM CONTINUE THIS BEHAVIOR!" the commander finished his speech as Armin glanced back at both Mikasa and Eren with a panicked look.
Sasha paused for a moment before jumping off the building she was standing on and landing behind one of the soldiers. She knew she couldn't attack anyone or she would be seen as a traitor to humanity, but... She didn't know if things would go as they did in the original timeline, where Eren, Mikasa, and Armin would be saved.
"I AM A SOLDIER! I HAVE DEDICATED MY HEART TO THE RESTORATION OF HUMANITY, SIR! NOTHING COULD MAKE ME PROUDER THAN DYING FOR SUCH A NOBLE CAUSE! IF WE WERE TO USE HIS TITAN ABILITY, AND COMBINE IT WITH THE MANPOWER WE HAVE LEFT, I BELIEVE WE CAN DO IT! WE CAN RETAKE THIS CITY! FOR HUMANITY'S GLORY, AND IN WHAT LITTLE TIME I HAVE LEFT TO LIVE, I WILL ADVOCATE HIS STRATEGICT VALUE!" Armin yelled as he saluted with a fist to his heart. Everyone just stared at Armin as he finished his speech. They were all shocked, especially the recruits, since this is the first time they had ever heard him yell with so much heart.
The commander was about to give the signal for everyone to attack the trio only to be stopped by a bald man with a very thick mustache. It shocked everyone as they all stared at the new man. For some reason, Sasha seemed to relax once the man appeared.
"For such a big guy, you're as fragile as a fawn," the new man stated as he held the commander's arm in the air.
"General Pixis!" someone yelled.
"Can't you see the magnificent salute he's showing you?" Pixis stated as he walked closer to Armin. "You must see. I just got here, after being informed of the situation by an official messenger. You go and take charge of the reinforcements," Pixis ordered the cowardly commander. "I think we should listen to what these people have to say," everyone heard Pixis state as Armin fell to the ground in relief.
After that, the trio were taken away with the general and the 7 spectating cadets quickly went back to where they were supposed to be. They were not supposed to get punishment, only a quick warning.
They went back to everyone and to their friend groups after what happened. None of them responded to any questions and pushed everything aside, before Connie quickly dragged Sasha to a secluded alleyway.
"That's it!" Connie finally snapped. "What was that out there?" he yelled at his best friend.
"What are you talking about?" Sasha asked him, playing dumb.
"You know what I'm talking about... The Colossal Titan... Eren being a Titan... These cannot be your instincts. Tell me what's going on right now, Sasha," Connie asked her
"Connie..." Sasha didn't know what to say, not because of shock, but because she needed more time to get her thoughts together and she needed to make contact with the Survey Corps before anything else could happen. She didn't need Connie to be a loose end.
"...Tell me the truth, Sasha... Don't you trust me?" Connie asked her with a desperate look in his eyes. Connie had never been popular, mostly because of his childish nature, and because he didn't know how to make friends as easily as Sasha could. He considered Sasha his best friend, and for her to be hiding something so big that it would cause her to go through so much pain like she was right now, it hurt him more than anything else.
"Connie..." Sasha slowly started. "I promise you, when the time is right, I will tell you, but... For now, can you just please trust me? I promise you that this will all make sense later but... please, Connie."
"Why can't you tell me now?" he asked her. He was desperate for an answer, but he didn't want to push her all the way.
"Because this is bigger than both you and me... I trust you with my life, you know that... But the things that I'm hiding... The things I'm not telling you are things that affect not only you and me, but the rest of the pe- humanity... I promise you that after I solve everything, you will be the first person I will let know," she whispered to him. Connie looked into her eyes; they looked almost desperate for him to believe her. It was true, she did trust him with her life. Ever since the incident last year.
"...Do you promise?" he asked slowly.
"What?"
"Do you promise that you're going to tell me everything from the beginning," he asked of her. She slowly nodded before speaking herself.
"I will... But you have to promise me that you'll believe me no matter how crazy it sounds," she told him. He just nodded and let her leave.
After she left, he stayed there for a moment, rethinking his thoughts, before he turned around and saw a figure looking at him with a confused look.
"Did you ask her?" Marco asked, coming up from the other end of the alley.
" She told me... She was going to tell me about it later..."
"..." Marco didn't say anything and just nodded his head. "If you want, I can ask Jean to keep an eye on her."
"No... I trust her..." Connie stated. Marco was going to ask Jean anyway because he was worried for his friend. Now, with the entire drama with Eren and the Titans, they really needed to stick closer together.
