Vlad King's Green Bean

Chapter forty: Recovery, vestiges, and joint training prep

It's been three days since Enji Todoroki, otherwise known as the Flame Hero Endeavor, had been admitted to the hospital following his battle against the talking
Nomu. But time seemed to be passing far slower than that for Japan's current number one hero; he had a lot on his mind as he woke up and had enough clarity of mind to think about what all had gone down that day. The talking Nomu showing up and suddenly attacking, the destruction of many parts of Fukuoka (Hawks would be rolling in his grave if he knew what had gone down in his old hometown), Dabi showing up near the end, Felgrand killing Mirko before disappearing with Dabi in sludge that warped the both of them away...

Gently shaking his head, Endeavor realized that he was lucky to be alive right now. The surgery patched him up, and Recovery Girl making a visit meant that Endeavor didn't lose his left eye, although now there was a scar over that area of his face. Endeavor was surprised to find that he was regularly visited by Majestic, his ally in the fight against the talking Nomu. Majestic even apologized for Endeavor getting injured, but the number one hero said that his injuries are his own fault, and he refused to let others shoulder blame for it. However, when Majestic helped him from the hospital after he was discharged, Enji decided to ask him a question that got some surprise out of the Magic Hero.

"Our encounter with that powerful, talking Nomu..." Endeavor said, "...Could it really have been nothing more than a coincidence?"

"Well you and I are both high ranking pro heroes," Majestic pointed out, "And it was, by its own words, looking for a strong fight. It probably heard we were in the area, decided to come on by for a spell." At that point in their walk from the hospital, they had reached the train station. "Now go home and get some rest, big guy," Majestic said, "You've more than earned it." Endeavor nodded once, then boarded the train that would take him home. But before the train door closed, Enji waved back at the Magic Hero, waving him good-bye in a casual manner. It was as the train door closed and the train heading off that Majestic, who waved back, turned around and started to walk away.

But as he walked away, Majestic thought about how he had been asked by the Hero Public Safety Commission to be their double agent and join the League of Villains, so as to gather intel on them that would otherwise be difficult, if not flat out impossible, to get. Majestic still wasn't sure if he was exactly the right fit for the job, but it had more or less been pushed onto him by the big wigs that more or less run Japanese hero society. Given that it was an order he couldn't refuse, Majestic proceeded to take to the mission like it was the most difficult spy video game he's ever played.

Yes, Majestic plays video games, with one of his favorites being a farming sim/dating sim/JRPG where one of the girls that the player can romance and marry starts off as chubby but could be made to diet and slim down before marrying her. Majestic went after that girl when he played the game, but chose to keep her chubby.

Later at the Todoroki residence, Enji walked in and was greeted by the sight of his three children, Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shoto, all eating a meal. "Dad, welcome home!" Fuyumi greeted in a happy tone.

Shoto, with an indifferent look on his face, slurped up some cold soba noodles. "...Sick scar, dude." Shoto slurped up some more soba after that.

Natsuo said nothing, just slurped noodles like his younger brother. "Guys, I thought we agreed on this," Fuyumi said, "I thought that we had agreed on being welcoming when dad got out of the hospital after his fierce battle against that monster."

Scowling, Natsuo got up and proceeded to leave the room, but was stopped by Enji, who simply placed a hand on his right shoulder. The two of them locked eyes for a moment, Natsuo's eyes fierce and Enji's eyes carrying a hint of resignation in them. "...I know that I fucked up as a father," Enji said, surprising all of his children. All three of them were surprised that he actually cursed just now (Fuyumi especially so), while the boys were both surprised that the Flame Hero was admitting to having messed up at his job of being a male parent. "...Fucked up enough to the point that I can't blame you for not wanting to roll out the red carpet for my return home from the hospital like how your sister had asked," Enji went on, his look of resignation never leaving.

Even Natsuo, who among the Todoroki siblings arguably hates Enji the most, was surprised by Enji, when you get right down to it, that he was wrong. Even so, Natsuo's displeasure with his father won back through. "...Just because you admit it doesn't mean all is forgiven. You're still a bastard of a man who neglected his kids, made us hear their mom scream, their brother cry. And let's not forget about Toya!"

"Natsuo!" Fuyumi exclaimed in an admonishing tone.

However, Enji cut her off by gently shaking his head. "...Your brother has a point, young lady. But I still intend to face my past. I'm going to own up for what all I have done, or at least try my damn best."

Natsuo gave an indifferent scowl that leaned more towards the unamused side of things. "...Do, or do not. There is no try." The older Todoroki brother then took off, although he did give a quick thanks to Fuyumi for the food before leaving.

As Fuyumi fretted, worried about making progress in fixing the cracks in their family's dynamic, Shoto said, "I say that both Fuyumi and Natsuo have points about you, dad."

Enji and Fuyumi both perked up at that, with Enji saying as he sat down at the table with his children who were still present, "How do you mean, Shoto?"

"Firstly, with all due respect, you are still kind of a shit man," Shoto began explaining, "There's no denying that Natsuo's opinions on you are valid. But at the same time, Fuyumi also has valid points on you." After slurping up some more soba, Shoto went on, "You're obviously trying to do good, sincerely trying to atone for what all crap you've put the family through. Hell, you're willing to admit that you're wrong, which at least gives you a point over my homeroom teacher at school." Placing his bowl, now empty, down at his place of the table, Shoto got up.

"...Endeavor the pro hero may be an amazing hero and the best that Japan has to offer right now," Shoto went on, "But Enji Todoroki the father is currently balanced between fixing his mistakes or falling back into being a fuck up of a father. Whether you prove Natsuo right more or Fuyumi right more is up to you. The ball's in your court right now." The youngest Todoroki sibling then took off, leaving his dad and older sister behind.

Alone with his daughter, Enji turned to face her. "...What Shoto said." When Fuyumi perked up at her father beginning to ask her something, Enji went on, "About how the 'ball's in my court' whatever that means, how I can either prove you more right or prove Natsuo more right. Do you think it's true?"

Nodding once, Fuyumi said, "I can't lie, you do have a lot on your plate to deal with. But I'm certain that if you keep going towards trying to repair things with us and at the rate you're going, you'll be able to win even Natsuo over."

Enji gave a contemplative hum, before reaching forward to put some soba noodles from the big dish into a bowl for himself. He then ate some of it. "...I can see why Shoto likes this stuff so much."

Back at UA over in the 1-B dorm building, Izuku got in after training hard to further his mastery over using One For All. Things seemed to be going smoother for him, especially ever since he was healed as an act of good faith by a member of the League of Villains during the raid to rescue Eri. Even though he did well in training One For All, Izuku was still tired; so much so he fell right onto his bed, not even bothering changing out of his clothes; he even still had his Air Force Gloves on as he passed out into the sweet bliss of sleep.

...

When Izuku came to, he saw that he didn't wake up in his dorm room, but rather was in the realm where he talked to that one lady and one thin young man, while he was passed out while recovering from the attack on the training camp. He also saw a number of people with them. Izuku also noticed that only the upper half of his head and the whole of his right hand were in that realm; the rest of his body was missing, obscured by pitch black smoke. Izuku had remembered being called 'the ninth' and counting himself there were only eight persons in this realm. Where was the missing person?

That wasn't important, as he heard a sinister sounding male voice. Turning around, Izuku saw a vision of All Might's nemesis, the now late All For One, having an argument with the thin young man about how the advent of quirks changed things up for the world at large. Izuku then saw All For One speak to the thin young man, identifying him as his (All For One's) younger brother, before showing two men, one with fangs due to a quirk and the other explained as quirkless. The fang quirk man was an outcast due to his quirk, and the quirkless man couldn't defend himself due to lacking a quirk.

All For One then used his vile power on both men, taking the fang quirk guy's quirk while also giving the originally quirkless man a quirk to give him strength to defend himself. The two men, grateful that All For One had fixed them, thanked him and asked what they could do in return. All for One simply asked them to be loyal to him. But All For One's brother saw through the ultimate villain; Izuku saw him call All For One out for clearly trying to get people to be subservient to him out of gratitude. All For One merely chuckled at what his younger brother said.

"...Foolish little brother," Izuku heard All For One say in the vision, "Humanity is lost from the world due to quirks. My quirk, the way I use it, can bring back that very humanity. How is what I am doing wrong?" All For One's brother merely charged at the villain, but a bodyguard serving All For One stopped him from getting further. "It's weird that you do not have a quirk," All For One said to his brother, "But that doesn't matter. You are family, after all, and I do still love you, your foolishness not being a matter to me."

Izuku then saw his vision change to show a dystopian scene, where quirks caused disruptions to social norms and caused mass disorder to abound. Through all of this, All For One had established himself as a figure for the panicked and confused masses to rally around; removing quirks from those who don't want them and giving quirks to those who do. All the while building up more and more of a loyal base of an army. Izuku then saw a scene of All For One visiting his younger brother, who he had been keeping imprisoned apparently.

"...You're looking thin," All For One said, "Have you not been eating?" After a moment of not responding but still glaring at his older brother, All For One's brother saw All For One go on, "You know, a group who refused to join me was killed by some of my followers. Then again, my followers did interpret what I wanted as instructions to kill. Oh well." Gesturing to his younger brother, All For One went on, "You remember that old comic book we used to read together when we were still brats? Yeah, I feel that this situation right here and now draws a lot of parallels from the story that comic was trying to tell."

All For One's brother looked up at the villain before him. "...You only ever read the first three volumes. If you read all of it, you would have seen that the Hero of Justice never gave up, and that the villains were all eventually defeated." This apparently elicited an angry reaction out of All For One, who quickly strode over, placed his hand on his brother's forehead, and forcefully gave him a quirk via his namesake quirk. Izuku, seeing this, acted out of pure instinct when he raised his hand to try to stop the villain. But then the vision faded.

Standing there was All For One's brother, looking as he always did. "I wish that I could show you more," All For One's brother said, "But you've barely reached twenty-five percent of One For All down pat. You need to master your power more in order for me to show you more." The thin young man gave Izuku a small but sincere and hopeful smile. "...But I believe you can do it, especially since you aren't alone." Izuku then felt things rushing around him as he felt like he was being pulled back at such a fast speed, he feared he might get hurt.

...

When Izuku finally came to, he saw that he was crouching on his bed, Full Cowl active, and a moderate bit of his room wrecked. Izuku was sweating, panting hard as if he were trying to calm himself back down from being panicked. It was this state that Sekijiro, who was followed by Izuku's three main friends in 1-B, Juzo, Yosetsu, and Nirengeki, had found Izuku in. Sekijiro could tell right away that something was troubling Izuku, and given that his quirk was active right now, Sekijiro also deduced that Toshinori may be able to help here.

After calling out to Izuku, Sekijiro was able to get him to calm back down. "...Something happened, I take it?" Sekijiro said, his tone and expression calm and understanding, "Well don't worry. I can get All Might to speak to you on it if it troubles you, but it'll have to wait until the morning. Until then, try to get some sleep."

The green haired boy nodded in understanding before flumping back down onto his bed. The Blood Hero left the room, pushing the boys there aside, and told said boys to hurry on back to bed as well. After Juzo, Yosetsu, and Nirengeki complied, Sekijiro as he returned to his own room had a sneaking suspicion that Toshinori, and maybe Izuku as well, were withholding important info from him that, as Izuku's teacher, he needed to know if he was to do right by Izuku. Heading into his own room and locking the door behind him, Sekijiro collapsed into his bed and promptly fell asleep.

The following morning at around six thirty, Izuku and Toshinori were having a sit down to discuss what had happened with Izuku the previous night. Although the sit down was arranged by Sekijiro, the Blood Hero was asked by Toshinori to not sit in on it as classified information would be discussed. Sekijiro, vocalizing an assumption that Toshinori would discuss some secret training regimen that helped the former Symbol of Peace become the number one hero, agreed and bowed out. Toshinori, although Sekijiro didn't guess correctly, was not about to correct him.

Especially since Toshinori and Izuku were discussing details on One For All. "...I've had similar visions myself, in the past," Toshinori said when Izuku explained the dream from the previous night, as well as the dream he had after the attack on the training camp before waking up in the hospital. "My master, who passed One For All to me as I had passed it to you," Toshinori went on to explain, "Told me that they are vestigial remnants of the prior wielders of One For All, rather than be nothing more than simple dreams. My master had also told me communicating with the past users is impossible, so the fact that you're able to do so means you're the first user of One For All to experience this."

Remembering a discussion with his master from long ago, Toshinori recalled how said master told him that, even if she were to die, he and her would one day meet again within One For All. Toshinori was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Izuku ask him a question. "What one of the past users of One For All... the one who I learned from my visions was actually All For One's brother... what did he mean by wanting to show me more?"

"It... is rather surprising to learn that a past user of One For All had been related, and so closely at that, to All For One," Toshinori said, "But it's clear what you got from your visions that all past users of One For All are noble of intent and pure of heart, much like you. And it's obvious that All For One's brother wants you to get stronger in using One For All. Think of it like unlocking more content in a video game by making more progress."

"Oh, I've played video games before," Izuku said, "Like this one farming sim/dating sim/JRPG where one of the girls the player character could romance was this one girl who is a mage living in a clock tower. She's the girl in the game I went after to romance."

Toshinori let out a chuckle. "There's all kinds of games out there, huh?" Seeing that things seemed settled for now, Toshinori got up and gestured for Izuku to follow him. The two took off from the nap room they met in, and leaving the room were met up by Sekijiro.

Gesturing to Izuku, Sekijiro said, "I hope you and All Might were able to work out a game plan to resolve things for you, Midoriya. Tomorrow's a big day for the whole of the first year hero course, both 1-B AND 1-A."

Izuku looked surprised by that announcement from his homeroom teacher. "What do you mean, Kan-sensei?"

"I'm pretty sure that Aizawa told his students about this already," Sekijiro began, "But tomorrow, you and your classmates will face off against the students in 1-A in a series of four-on-four team battles. This joint training exercise is meant to help with getting all of you in the first year hero course used to fighting as part of a team."

"We're gonna fight 1-A?" Izuku nearly exclaimed, taken by surrpise.

Sekijiro nodded once in the affirmative. "There will be a total of five rounds, each round seeing four different students each from 1-B and 1-A duking it out. The class with the most wins overall will win the event overall. That might be worth bragging rights to some, but I want you and your classmates to focus more on improving both yourselves and your quirks."

Izuku nodded in agreement. "Would it also be a benefit to help 1-A improve? I mean, all of us are going to be taking part in this mass scale training exercise, right?"

The Blood Hero gave his green haired student an amused smile. "That friend to all attitude you've got there is, if anything at all, a step in the right direction to having a good personality as a pro hero." With a shrug, Sekijiro said, "I have no objections to you and your classmates helping your year-mates over in 1-A, although I'm not too certain how Aizawa will take you guys trying to give his students pointers."

Izuku scowled internally, but didn't show it externally. "You got me there."

"Normally, the exercise would have gone down later today," Sekijiro began, "But due to security issues being reviewed in light of three members of the League of Villains successfully getting onto UA grounds during the recent school festival, a few things were pushed back such as the joint training event going down tomorrow." Turning to take off, Sekijiro said as he walked away, "Play fair and do me proud, Midoriya."

"I will, Kan-sensei!" Izuku called back, knowing full well that he intended to do what he could to both help his class win the event tomorrow overall, AND do what he can to help all of the students in the first year hero course, 1-B and 1-A alike, improve as much and as far as possible right now.

...And he had a few dozen notebooks filled out that had info he knew would be a great boon to the first year hero course.

Later that evening, Izuku while everyone in 1-B relaxed in the common area of their dorm after finishing all homework they had was surprised when Itsuka told him that he and her plus a selection of four of their classmates, totaling for a party of six, were invited to the 1-A dorm building to discuss something that, according to Bakugo who sent the invite, involved the join training exercise that would be taking part tomorrow. Bakugo's call to Itsuka specified that she and Izuku had to come, as they were the vice rep and rep of class 1-B, but the other four were up to them.

Izuku was surprised that Bakugo was directly inviting him over, but attributed it to what Itsuka said about Bakugo wanting 1-B's class rep and vice rep. Izuku told Itsuka that she can pick two and he'll pick the other two. Izuku, after Itsuka agreed and went to scout from the rest of the girls in class, went over to Juzo, Yosetsu, and Nirengeki to tell them the situation while explaining he wanted to bring two of them for the meeting that Bakugo was trying to arrange. The three boys all played rock-paper-scissors to determine who would go with Izuku; Juzo and Yosetsu ended up getting the win, leaving Nirengeki to sulk.

As such, Izuku, followed by Juzo and Yosetsu, met up with Itsuka; she ended up picking Setsuna and Pony, the former due to how being a student who got into UA on recommendation gave her some degree of metaphorical weight to throw around (Itsuka commented that Izuku picking Juzo who was similar in said regard to Setsuna was a wise choice), and the latter because it was Bakugo who had called for this meeting. Itsuka was aware that Pony is literally the only student in Class 1-B that the explosive teen of Class 1-A not once ever showed any hostility or mean spirit towards. Itsuka figured having Pony there would help keep Bakugo from acting up.

As such, the party of Izuku, Itsuka, Juzo, Setsuna, Yosetsu, and Pony made their way over to the 1-A dorm building. Itsuka took the initiative and knocked on the door, and it was answered by Tokoyami, who had Dark Shadow out and hanging next to him. "Ah yes, Bakugo did explain how he wanted to call some of you from 1-B over to discuss some terms regarding our two classes meeting one another in battle tomorrow." The bird headed boy turned to regard Izuku. "Bakugo also mentioned that you, Midoriya, are one of the two specific people he called for. Either way, yours is a face that I'm always heartened to see."

"Thanks, Tokoyami," Izuku replied before Tokoyami and Dark Shadow escorted the party representing Class 1-B in. Seeing that they had guests, all of Class 1-A had gathered around to greet their guests.

Bakugo, with Sero, Kaminari, Kirishima behind him, was forefront of the gathered 1-A students. "Glad to see that you guys came," Bakugo greeted.

"You said that you wanted to discuss the joint training exercise tomorrow?" Itsuka asked.

The explosive teen nodded in the affirmative. "I got it that there will be a total of five rounds, each round seeing a different set of four students from my class fight a different set of four students from your class, and the class with the most wins will be the overall winner of the whole shebang." Giving the group of representatives from Class 1-B a knowing look, Bakugo went on, "...I call for making things tomorrow more... interesting."

That caught Izuku's attention, and he wasn't entirely sure if it would lead to a good thing. Still, he owed it to Bakugo to give him a shot; and Izuku will admit that Bakugo, although he had been mean to him in the past, actually showed that he was improving as a person as time at UA went on. "You want to make the joint training exercise tomorrow more interesting?" Izuku asked, "What do you mean by that, Kacchan?"

"I mean that my class makes a bet with yours, Deku," Bakugo replied.

Sero nodded in confirmation. "Yeah, Bakugo talked about it with the lads and I, and even Ashido and Jiro got in on it, with both of them saying that Bakugo doing it is at least better than if our late classmate Mineta were still alive and attempted something similar."

Itsuka arched a wry eyebrow. "What's the bet?"

"If my class wins the event tomorrow overall," Bakugo said, then continued after raising a finger to point at Pony, "Then Tsunotori has to agree to become my girl."

Bakugo's bet elicited surprised reactions out of the group from Class 1-B, aside from Pony who looked confused. "...What does that mean?" Pony asked.

"It means you have to agree to be his girlfriend," Juzo explained, his mastery over both the English and Japanese languages helping him to bridge the gap for Pony.

As the half-foreign girl let out an embarrassed, confused cry, Izuku could tell that Bakugo was clearly aiming to make the moves he predicted Bakugo would try to make at some point. The green haired boy had a gut feeling that Bakugo, his old childhood friend, had developed romantic feelings for Pony. Setsuna looked like she was about to say something, but stopped short when Itsuka called for a group huddle with the rest of the party from Class 1-B. "...I say that we meet Bakugo's condition with one of our own," Itsuka whispered to her classmates.

Pointing to Izuku, Juzo said, "Like how we can agree to Bakugo's condition if Class 1-A agrees to have their classmate Uraraka become Midoriya's girlfriend if our class wins tomorrow's training exercise event?"

"What?!" Izuku exclaimed in embarrassment.

"Dude, the lads and I know full well you got the hots for Uraraka," Juzo said, "And from the looks I saw her give to you, I'd be willing to bet that she returns the favor."

Blushing heavily with embarrassment, the green haired boy replied, "Well... I... umm... err... I do have romantic feelings for Uraraka, now that you bring it up, but I don't feel comfortable with forcing her to be with me like that."

"Then can we instead say that if our class wins overall tomorrow," Yosetsu began, "That Yaoyorozu has to agree to be my girlfriend?"

"You're aiming for Momo, Awase?" Itsuka said, her tone almost scandalous due to her hearing Yosetsu trying to make a play for going after Yaoyorozu.

Yosetsu nodded in confirmation. "Come on, Kendo. I really do like her. Also, I still feel guilty as shit over how I did nothing while she had been kidnapped a while ago. I wanna make things up to her, and I believe that I can start it if I were to become involved with her romantically."

Itsuka let out a mildly exasperated sigh. "We aren't aiming to get Midoriya hooked up with Uraraka, and we're certainly not aiming to get you hooked up with Yaoyorozu, Awase."

"Weak," Juzo said dryly while pointing and looking at Itsuka.

Itsuka rolled her eyes at Juzo being a bro to Yosetsu. "There is, however, a couple who we should be aiming to see get together." Itsuka then lowered her tone somewhat as she discussed what she had in mind; the boys and Setsuna were all surprised, but Pony thought that Itsuka's plan was sweet. Nevertheless, they all agreed and broke the group huddle, turning to face Class 1-A.

Gesturing to the group from Class 1-B, Bakugo said, "Well? What do you say?"

"We will accept the terms that you guys in 1-A are putting forward," Itsuka replied, "If you accept the terms that we from 1-B want to put forward in return."

That got Bakugo to arch a wry eyebrow out of piqued interest. "Oh? And what are said terms you wanna put forward?"

Itsuka said nothing, but raised her right hand to gesture to Kirishima. "...Your classmate Kirishima," Itsuka said, "If 1-B wins the training event tomorrow overall, then Kirishima has to agree to start going out with our classmate Komori."

Kirishima perked up out of surprised confusion. "I have to go out with your classmate Komori? Which one is Komori?"

"Komori is our classmate who looks kind of like Uraraka," Izuku explained, "Except her hair's somewhat longer. Komori's bangs usually cover her eyes." Izuku still recalled how, during the first day of UA, he thought Komori was Uraraka, only to realize his mistake when he got close enough to see her better.

Itsuka took out her smartphone, pulled something up on it, and show to Bakugo and his lads what she pulled up; a photo Itsuka took of the other girls in 1-B. Pointing Komori in the picture out to the boys, Itsuka said, "That's Komori, the girl who Kirishima will start dating after the events of tomorrow are dealt with."

"Not gonna happen," Bakugo said, "Because we accept your terms, and it'll be my class who will win meaning Tsunotori will start seeing a lot more of me."

Smirking knowingly at Bakugo, Itsuka replied, "Oh, we'll see. Now, unless there's any other business to-"

"Actually," Izuku spoke up, getting everyone to turn to look at him. "...I got some pointers I'd like to discuss with everyone in Class 1-A," Izuku went on, "Things that I took notice of ever since our two classes started working more with one another. I saw how all of the quirks that you guys in 1-A have function, analyzed them and wrote down notes in some journals-"

"Oh yeah, I remember," Bakugo interrupted, "You always had a fondness for studying and analyzing the quirks of others, didn't you Deku?"

Tokoyami stepped forward, nodding once in agreement. "Uraraka and I are also aware of it to an extent, as Midoriya had asked to analyze our quirks and we consented. He also asked our late classmate Iida who also consented and told Midoriya all about his quirk." Izuku nodded in confirmation to that; he still had his detailed analysis on Iida's quirk, something that was now useless as Iida lost his life to the Hero Killer's blades during the chaos in Hosu. Although said analysis had no practical value now as the person it's base off if gone, Izuku kept it because of sentimental value; it reminded him of his first friend at UA outside of his homeroom.

Stepping forward, Izuku said, "In the interest of fairness, I'd like to share with you all some pointers that-"

"They don't need to hear any of your sabotage, Midoriya."

Everyone turned and saw that Aizawa had just entered the 1-A common area. He gave an unamused scowl to the 1-B students, particularly Izuku who didn't hesitate to return the expression in kind. "I don't know what you six are up to here, but whatever it is I'm putting an end to it right now," Aizawa scowled at Sekijiro's students.

"We were invited over by Bakugo who simply wanted to wish our class good luck tomorrow," Pony said, surprising 1-A given that she was (for the most part) lying to Aizawa right to his face, "In the interest of fair play and good sportsmanship." Shinso not that anyone else seemingly saw him looked like he wanted to speak up, clearly with the intent to expose Pony's lie, but was cut off before getting even one word out by a sudden and severe glare from Shoji who did in fact keep an eye on him. With no words being spoken, Shinso agreed to Shoji's threat to remain silent and also to not expose Pony's lie.

Gesturing to Izuku, Tokoyami went on, "And Midoriya was offering to help us by-"

"Sabotaging you guys again," Aizawa interrupted as he spoke to all of his students as a whole, "It's obvious to me that the previous experience you guys had of Midoriya sabotaging you all didn't stick to most of you, so I will make things clear to all of you, even to the other students here from 1-B." The underground hero then raised a hand, extended the index finger to point at Izuku, as if accusingly.

"Midoriya here cannot be trusted by any means. End of story, goodbye, the end."

"Excuse you?!" Yosetsu snapped, "The hell crawled up your ass and died, you-"

"All of you, out," Aizawa interrupted as he scolded the 1-B students while pointing to the front door, "NOW. We will see each other tomorrow, when my students will put all of you in 1-B in your place for your behavior. And as for you Awase, I will be speaking to Sekijiro about the blatant disrespect you've shown me just now."

Scoffing defiantly, Yosetsu said, "Good luck with that." The 1-B students then took off, if only to save 1-A from suffering further wrath from their tyrant of a homeroom teacher. After the group from 1-B left the 1-A dorm, Yosetsu let out a breath as he and the rest of the 1-B group made their way back to their dorm. "Holy shit, Aizawa-sensei is an intense man. No wonder I got it that Bakugo's taken to referring to him as Ass-awa, if only in private."

Itsuka gently shook her head. "Something's gotta be done about Aizawa-sensei's attitude problem."

"We can do something about it tomorrow," Izuku said, then added while pounding a fist into his hand to emphasize his point, "By proving him wrong about 1-A putting us and our classmates 'in our place' by winning the training event we're doing tomorrow instead."

END, CHAPTER FORTY

Author's notes;

This chapter sees Endeavor recover from his fight against Hood and go home, where Natsuo more or less give him the same attitude, but Shoto shows a somewhat more lenient side, saying he'll give Enji a chance but he has to make it count. There's also a side bit about Majestic thinking about the secret job that he was tasked with by the HPSC big wigs, but there will be more on that later.

Izuku also has a dream in the vestige world of One For All where he sees a bit of the past of All For One's brother, before telling Toshinori about it the next day. All that Toshinori tells him is to keep up with training to master One For All, before Sekijiro comes in to tell Izuku about the joint training exercise that will be the next day, where 1-B will face 1-A. The two classes also make a bet with each other on the joint training event in order to make things interesting, and Izuku tries to offer help to his fellow schoolmates.

But Aizawa interrupts him and tells the group of 1-B students off before effectively banishing them from the 1-A dorm. The underground hero's attitude irritates the hero course students, 1-B and 1-A alike, but nothing can be done about it for the time being. However, 1-B vows to prove Aizawa wrong about how 1-A will win the joint training event. How this will play out will need to be seen to be believed.

...By the way, 1-B will NOT be making use of Izuku's analysis on the quirks of the 1-A students. I feel that I may have to point this out to some folks.
