Ch 12: Desiderate

Amajiki sighed to himself quietly, reclining back into the steaming water, Midoriya dozing at his side, his freckled cheek resting against Amajiki's shoulder lightly. He cast his eyes across the dimly illuminated cavern walls, catching pieces of conversation here and there as the demons around them lounged about together, sharing laughter and conversation quietly.

Rodi and Pino reclined together in the water nearby, the demon resting against her contractor with soft purrs, Rodi tracing patterns over her warm skin and pressing kisses to her forehead and cheeks reverently, Pino tilting her face up now and then to accept a soft kiss.

Amajiki's stomach twisted with anxiety, thinking of everything that had happened since they'd discovered the farmhouse, and thinking of everything there was that still remained unsaid between them.

Rodi noticed Amajiki's lingering gaze, glancing over to catch his eyes, the two humans watching one another for a long, silent moment before Rodi opted to speak.

"You can't let this go, can you?" He asked quietly, a sad little smile teasing up his lips.

"No." Amajiki replied back softly, searching Rodi's eyes. "What are you hiding from us? Why don't you want us to know?"

"It's...complicated." Rodi answered with a little sigh, reaching up to card his fingers through his long hair, Pino frowning a little as well and fixing Amajiki in her sights.

He felt her speak to him, the caress of wings against the back of his mind, soft fingertips with a hint of curved talons, warm breath ghosting across his nape as her blue eyes illuminated slightly.

It hurts him to speak of it. You don't need to know.

"Darling…" Rodi whispered gently, and Pino pouted for a while longer before casting her gaze aside, and that feeling faded away, Amajiki shivering at the emptiness that was left behind.

He was quiet for a long time, simply holding Pino and watching the steam curling from the surface of the water, and then finally Rodi spoke.

"My father was an Architect working for Horikoshi on The Greenhouse Project." He met Amajiki's eyes, nodding his head lightly before continuing on. "You're right, I was a kid when the bombs went off and destroyed the world, but unlike you and Midoriya I didn't grow up in a bunker underground. I grew up in a laboratory, not unlike the lab tied to the entrance of this greenhouse." He smiled a little, shifting to rest back against the curved lip of the spring behind him, continuing on quietly. "My father taught me many things about his ongoing research, and genetic hyperthymesia has gifted me with the extraordinary ability to retain and replicate everything I've ever learned."

Amajiki arched his brow a little, trying to understand, "Hyper…?"

"Hyperthymesia." Rodi replied with a smile and a little nod. "It basically means I remember everything. Everything I've ever experienced, everything I've ever heard of or read about or learned hands-on…"

"That sounds amazing." Midoriya murmured sleepily, Amajiki and Rodi turning their attention to him, Midoriya lifting one of his hands out of the water and covering his mouth as he yawned, blinking tiredly and waiting for Rodi to continue. "That's how you know so much about this place? Your father?"

Rodi nodded, clarifying after a moment, "The system still recognizes his logins and passcodes, luckily enough. I'm glad I was able to get us inside safely, I never expected to have such an opportunity to experience life like this ever again."

"It's more than I've ever dreamed." Midoriya replied with a little hum, turning to tuck his face against Amajiki's neck. "It's like paradise here. Food, shelter, a hotspot for our plethoras to share…"

Amajiki nodded his agreement, rubbing up and down Midoriya's back gently.

"I wish we could stay here." Midoriya murmured tiredly, Amajiki glancing up and meeting Rodi's eyes. "I wish we could finally stop running. I just want us to find a safe place we can all call home."

"This could be home for us." Rodi replied with a little smile. "The A.I. running this greenhouse will live as long as the sun does. We could live our lives here. We could grow old here, together-"

"What about the chaos?" Amajiki asked, pinching his brow slightly. "We can't just forget about that fact that we're being hunted-"

"C'mon, Amajiki." Rodi interrupted with a little laugh, "Do you really think that thing is still after us? There's been no sign of anything dangerous following after us for the past three years! When are we going to get back to living our lives instead of endlessly running away in fear of what might never happen-"

"We can't risk it! We can't take that chance!" Amajiki scoffed quietly, Midoriya frowning a little and looking up at him, petting over his chest to try and soothe him as Amajiki continued on, "How can you be so casual about this? If we linger here for too long that chaos will eventually catch up with us and try to devour us or worse! What if it rips apart our plethoras? What if it kills us all?"

"Why are you both so afraid of dying?" Rodi exhaled roughly, pushing himself up a bit, Pino twittering and taking hold of his forearm, trying to draw his attention in vain. "Are you content with this? Just running and running without even confronting the thing that's chasing us? Why don't we stand our ground and fight it? You've both become so much stronger, what if we've been running for no reason all along? What if we can take it on and destroy it? What if-"

"You have no place talking about fighting against that thing!" Amajiki growled, pushing himself up as well, Midoriya taking his wrist and keeping him rooted in place while Amajiki snapped, "You and Pino won't even be involved in the first place! We would be! The two of you can't handle fighting against a chaos and you know it! We'd have to protect you!"

"Hey! Calm down!" Midoriya said worriedly, planting a hand against Amajiki's chest and holding him back gently. "What has gotten into you? Both of you! You need to calm down-"

"You two got us into this mess!" Rodi growled out irritably, Pino twittering and tugging at his arm, trying to get him to back down, "We were fine in that city before you came! You drew the chaos to the city, you endangered both of us and now we're stuck here together, running and hiding for years!" He slapped a hand against his chest, splashing water with his movements, "I want to live! I want to experience this world without fear consuming me!"

His eyes were burning, his entire face flushed, tears threatening to spill down his ruddy cheeks.

"One day I'll die, one day you'll die too! Both of you! We're all going to die, so before I take my last breath I'm gonna live!" His breath hitched and he slapped his hand against his chest once more. "I'm not gonna cower in fear and waste my time trying to escape my fate! I don't want to run away anymore!"

"Then stay here and die!" Amajiki shouted, his voice ringing off of the rock surrounding them, a heavy silence echoing after his sharp words had faded away.

"Tamaki." Midoriya murmured softly, his expression sad as he curled his fingers against his companion's chest, and Amajiki's face scrunched up and his breath hitched once he realized what he'd said.

"Shit, I didn't mean-"

"You did." Rodi replied with a peal of soft laughter, and he stepped out of the water, Pino trailing quietly after. "It's okay, I get it. Really, I do." He reached for his discarded clothes, tugging on his shirt while saying shakily under his breath, "You don't have to stay, but I'm going to. Me and Pino are gonna stay, for as long as we possibly can."

"Rodi-" Midoriya called, but he was already walking away, the demons shifting slightly to allow him to pass and disappear down the tunnel leading back into the greenhouse.

Shinsou was the first to stir once Rodi had passed, the chaos padding closer and looking down at Midoriya and Amajiki with a little frown. Hawks tucked his wings against his spine as he stood, stepping closer to the humans as well, his expression unreadable as he let out a heavy sigh.

Midoriya watched Amajiki for a long, quiet moment before squeezing his hand and pressing a kiss to his cheek, murmuring gently, "I'll go talk to him, I'll make him understand-"

"I did mean it. I did." Amajiki said with a hitch of breath, his face scrunching up. "It isn't safe. It isn't." He looked up at Shinsou and Hawks, asking the demons shakily, "It isn't safe to stay here for very long, is it? There's no way we could, not without that chaos finding us?"

Shinsou and Hawks exchanged a glance, the fallen angel crossing his arms over his chest while nodding his agreement. "You're right, Tamaki. We can't stay for more than a few days. We're only able to stay here now due to the way this hotspot is sheltered underground, and camouflaged by the perimeter of the greenhouse."

"I understand Rodi's frustration, and yours." Shinsou said gently, his tail swaying behind him as he spoke. "What Rodi said rings true; in the years that have passed we have all had time to hone our strengths and engage in increasingly difficult mock battles, so it is possible we could face the chaos now and between our plethoras hold a chance of shattering him. Still, I am hesitant to risk engaging with him again." Shinsou looked to Hawks briefly before returning his attention to their hosts. "The most ancient of us are notoriously despicable, cunning and wild. If we give any opportunity for him to take advantage of the situation, he will devour all of us. I'm certain of it."

"That's not a risk I'm willing to take." Amajiki said shakily, holding Hawks' eyes, the fallen angel nodding his agreement.

"I am with you, Tamaki." Hawks replied candidly. "Though our predicament is exhausting, both mentally and physically, it's the safest option for all of us. We should keep running, and hope that perhaps in time the chaos will lose interest in pursuing us."

"It could take years. Decades even." Shinsou said softly, meeting Midoriya's eyes. "If we leave Rodi here, it's likely he and Pino alone would be sheltered from the outside world, and they could spend a substantial part of their lives here, hidden safely underground. For you and for Amajiki, given the plethoras you hold, it would be safest to move on once you've had a few days to rest."

Midoriya nodded slowly, casting his gaze to the side. "Alright. I understand." He looked to Amajiki, murmuring worriedly, "I'll try to convince him to come with us. I don't want to just leave him here alone."

Amajiki was quiet, but gingerly he nodded his head, tugging Midoriya closer to wrap him in an embrace. Midoriya closed his eyes, hiding his face against Amajiki's neck while hugging him back tightly.

"He doesn't have to come with us." Amajiki murmured quietly against Midoriya's dark curls. "If he wants to stay here then just...let him stay."

Midoriya's chest twisted, and he held onto Amajiki for a while longer before letting go, offering him a kiss and then turning to step out of the spring. He took a few steps forward, retrieving his clothes and dressing quickly before setting out in search of Rodi, leaving his demons and companion behind.

He found Rodi near the mouth of the cavern, watching over the drones repairing the entryway silently, Pino turning to look back at him, Midoriya offering her a small smile.

"Rodi?" Midoriya called, and the older boy didn't turn to look at him, Midoriya pausing only for a moment before stepping closer and slipping his fingers between Rodi's, squeezing his hand gently.

"I want to stay." Rodi said quietly, looking out across the crop fields, taking a deep breath and exhaling shakily. "I don't want to run anymore."

Midoriya arched his brow, watching Rodi worriedly while asking hesitantly, "We have a few days to consider our options, right? Can you wait a little while longer, and make your decision then?"

"Why?" Rodi scoffed lightly, turning to face Midoriya while squeezing his fingers between his own. "Amajiki's right. I'm putting you both in danger by even suggesting you stay here. If that chaos were to come here, there's little else Pino and I could do except pray he leaves us be and moves on. If he wanted to kill us, there's no way we could win against him. Pino is great at defense and evasion, but a chaos could devour her easily enough if they held the desire to do so."

Midoriya looked to Pino then, his stomach and chest twisting with anxiety, trying not to think about the sweet, gentle demon Rodi had contracted with being mercilessly ripped apart and shattered. He didn't want that. He wanted them to stay together, all of them. He wanted Rodi and Pino to be safe. He wanted them to live.

"I don't want to lose you." Midoriya whispered shakily, pressing closer and reaching up to wrap his arm around Rodi's neck, their fingers still laced tightly. "I know you're tired of running. I'm tired too. But the thought of leaving you, the thought of anything happening to you and Pino because I'm not there to save you, I-"

He grit his teeth, his breath hitching, his grip on Rodi tightening as he tried to push back a sob.

"Please, Rodi? Please, I can't lose you. I can't-"

Rodi grabbed his wrist, tugging his arm down while pushing him backwards, Midoriya inhaling sharply and practically tripping as he was shoved against the closest wall. He winced at the unexpected impact, letting out a soft squeak and glancing up to meet Rodi's eyes, and suddenly Rodi's mouth was pressed against his own, and Midoriya forgot how to breathe, a soft whine escaping him as Rodi coaxed him into another kiss.

"Rodi, I-"

"Don't." Rodi replied shakily, pressing their lips back together, and he kissed Midoriya roughly, deeply, over and over again.

Heat shivered up Midoriya's spine, curling in the pit of his stomach as he reached up shakily and pressed his fingers against the curve of Rodi's shoulder and neck, grasping onto the collar of his jacket tightly. Pino watched them with a soft blush, her expression gentle and affectionate, a trembling exhale escaping her before she stepped closer, reaching out to touch Midoriya as well.

As Rodi pulled back to allow Midoriya to breathe, Pino pressed closer, carding her fingers through Midoriya's hair and cupping his face gently. She searched his emerald eyes, leaning in to nuzzle her nose against his before tenderly pressing their lips together, her nails pressing gently against the freckles dusting his cheeks.

Midoriya had never felt another contractor's demon so intimately before. During sparring matches over the years, there were times when he had made contact with Amajiki's demons, but each encounter had been fleeting, generally painful and abrupt. Their respective plethoras knew not to engage with the other's host, an unspoken boundary that was not to be crossed, and Midoriya had never really considered the possibility of interacting with Pino in such a way, despite his fondness of the mute demon.

Now, having her touch him, having her warmth pressed against his chest and her lips tracing against his own, Midoriya understood the intimacy of what Rodi was sharing with him. It had his heart fluttering wildly against his chest, and after several long moments had passed by without any move to reciprocate, Midoriya gently took her waist in his hands, and slowly began to kiss her back.

She practically melted against him, sharing his breath and pausing between kisses to pet his cheeks and search his eyes, her expressions affectionate beyond words. Pino took her time, twittering lightly and biting her lip before glancing towards Rodi, her bonded chuckling fondly before nodding, gesturing towards Midoriya again. She chirped and warbled softly, then returned her eyes to Midoriya, leaning closer to kiss him softly again and again.

Midoriya wasn't certain how long they were pressed together, but when she eventually pulled back Rodi was there again, and after exchanging a few soft kisses with his bonded he dipped down and claimed Midoriya's lips once more.

He was gentle this time, calm and reverent. Midoriya whined softly against his lips, wrapping his arms around Rodi's neck, tangling his fingers in the brunette's long, damp hair. Rodi held him close, petting along his side and slipping his fingers up under Midoriya's shirt, the younger boy shivering pleasantly and curling his toes against the smooth rock beneath them, Rodi peering down at him with a teasing smile.

"You okay?" Rodi asked huskily, and Midoriya let out a peal of embarrassed laughter before hiding his face and nodding his head.

"Y-Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay."

Pino twittered softly as she leaned against Rodi's shoulder, reaching out to comb her fingers through Midoriya's hair, and he gingerly lifted his face and met her gaze, Pino's expression softening as she searched his eyes.

"It's okay that we kissed you?" Rodi asked gently, and Midoriya's cheeks brightened for a moment before he hummed and nodded his head.

"I wasn't expecting it, but yeah." He bit his lip for a moment, shifting his gaze from Pino to Rodi once more. "I liked it. Did you?"

"Yeah." Rodi replied with a chuckle, "I really liked it. A lot."

Pino twittered as well, biting her bottom lip and nodding shyly, her cheeks tinged with pink.

Midoriya smiled and laughed happily, letting out a trembling sigh and pressing closer, wrapping his arms around both of them, holding on tight.

"Stay with us? Please?"

Rodi was quiet for a long moment, Pino glancing between them curiously, pausing to search Rodi's eyes, and the brunette didn't respond for quite some time before he finally decided to speak.

He met Midoriya's eyes, reaching up to trace his thumb along the curve of his freckled cheek while asking gently, "Allow me some time to think about it?"

Midoriya arched his brow a little, but hesitantly nodded. "Yeah, of course Rodi. I understand."

"Thank you." Rodi breathed out softly, and after searching Midoriya's eyes for a long moment he leaned in to press a kiss against his mouth once more.

Shinsou watched from the shadowed curve of the cavern tunnel, shifting his wings subtly behind him, Bakugou standing close beside him, his eyes burning with barely bridled fire.

"This could be bad." Bakugou murmured, Shinsou humming his agreement.

"Give them some time to sort out their emotions." Shinsou rumbled back softly, his tail tapping against his calf with restless energy, the chaos parting his lips slightly to taste the energy twisting in the air. "This could be a good thing. It could open up new possibilities to feed from a source other than Amajiki."

"What of his jealousy?" Bakugou asked in a hushed tone, frowning a little as he watched Midoriya and Rodi. "If he discovers them together and reacts with anger, or heartbreak?"

"What if he's open to sharing." Shinsou whispered, quirking a brow and meeting Bakugou's eyes. "We won't know until it happens. We have to trust Izuku to make the right decision. He cares for Rodi. He won't leave him behind."

"I know." Bakugou sighed, his tone strained, the fire in his eyes gradually fading back into calm. "He's never had to make such decisions before. Asking him to choose between his human companions seems an impossible choice. Human emotions are powerful agents of chaos. I worry for him."

"As do I." Shinsou chuckled quietly, cuffing Bakugou's shoulder and turning to return to the spring, leaving Bakugou alone to observe their contractor's interactions with his companion.

Pino glanced towards him as she sensed his gaze, holding his eyes and tilting her head slightly, Bakugou bristling only for a moment before exhaling slowly and relaxing again, giving her a little nod. She arched her brow a little, offering him a gentle smile, returning her attention to her bonded a moment later, watching over him as he shared slow kisses with Midoriya, basking in the energy growing between them with a twittering sigh.

The energy they created together was good, irrefutably rich and warm. Bakugou relished it for several long moments before stepping closer, his footsteps echoing against the cavern floor, Rodi and Midoriya parting to watch his approach.

Bakugou held Rodi's eyes for a quiet moment before turning his gaze to his contractor, Midoriya's blush brightening as his breath hitched, Bakugou's fingers trailing up his side.

"You need to tell Amajiki." Bakugou growled out softly, holding Midoriya's eyes. "Do not hide this from him. It will hurt him beyond any pain he has ever experienced before. It will tarnish your relationship with him permanently. Do not risk it. Speak with him openly and honestly about your feelings. About what you want."

Midoriya pinched his brow, curling his fingers against Rodi's jacket and smoothing his thumb over the curve of a worn buttonhole absently, taking a few moments to think to himself before whispering shakily, "He'll be upset once he knows?"

Rodi frowned a little, shrugging, glancing up to meet Bakugou's eyes. "He doesn't exactly seem the type to share, does he?"

Bakugou let out another quiet growl, his tail lashing the air behind him, and as he turned away Midoriya caught his wrist, halting his steps once more.

"Katsuki?" Midoriya asked quietly, and the demon turned to look back at him over his shoulder. "Do I really have to choose between them?"

"That's for you to decide, Izuku." Bakugou said softly, his red eyes gleaming in the low light. "You need to think about how your decisions and actions will make Amajiki feel. How would you feel if you found out Amajiki was sharing intimacy with someone else besides you? Could you simply accept that?"

Midoriya arched his brow, his grip on Rodi tightening for only a moment before he gingerly pulled away, giving Rodi an apologetic look. He glanced towards Pino briefly, then looked once more to Bakugou with a shaky sigh.

"I...I'll try to talk to him. I don't want to hide this from him, I want all of us to be together." He reached out and brushed his fingertips against Rodi's hand, adding with a hitch of breath. "I can't imagine my life now without both of you in it."

Rodi exhaled a quiet breath of laughter, his expression soft as he shifted back slightly and nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah I know. I've gotten used to the two of you being around too. It was just me and Pino for so long, but now there's all of you." He grinned at Bakugou before turning his gaze to Midoriya, shrugging lightly. "Sometimes it feels like this was supposed to happen. Returning back to a life where it's just the two of us…" He arched his brow, glancing towards Pino with a sad little smile. "It would be difficult for us, but we'd survive." He returned his gaze to Midoriya, considering quietly for a moment before adding in little more than a whisper, "You've been with Amajiki and his plethora since you were both kids. I know where I stand in comparison to that. Your relationship has spanned a lifetime. I'm just a stranger you crossed paths with on the edge of a city. We don't have to pretend it's anything more."

Midoriya looked disheartened to hear Rodi say such things aloud, and he took his hand again, squeezing his fingers. "It is more than that. It's so much more. You can't tell me you didn't feel that just now when you kissed me. When Pino kissed me…"

He looked to the demon standing beside them, and Pino bit her lip while looking up at Rodi, a hint of tears gleaming in her eyes. Rodi returned her gaze patiently, sighing quietly and tugging her closer, pressing a kiss to her forehead while wrapping his arm around her waist.

"Of course I felt it." Rodi murmured quietly, letting out a slight hitch of breath. "You mean a lot to me. I care about you. We both do."

Midoriya blinked back his tears, nodding lightly, drawing back his hand and turning to walk away, Bakugou lingering even after he'd gone.

The demon shifted slightly closer, and Pino pushed Rodi back, planting herself between them. Bakugou glared down at her for a long moment before shifting his eyes to Rodi's, hissing out a quiet warning, "If you hurt him, if you damage the bond between them, I won't forgive you."

"That's not what I want." Rodi said softly, holding the deviant's eyes. "I'll remove myself from the equation if it comes to that."

Bakugou's expression calmed a bit, and he hummed quietly while turning away, disappearing back into the shadows once more. Rodi watched the empty tunnel for a long moment before exhaling shakily and reaching up to card his fingers through his hair, Pino watching him worriedly, twittering quietly and smoothing her small hands across his chest, pressing closer to share her warmth.

Midoriya found Amajiki sitting near the hot springs, Shimura and Usagi sitting beside him, the deviants watching over their contractor while speaking quietly amongst themselves. Midoriya paused briefly before stepping closer, shifting to take a seat at Amajiki's side, his companion stirring and reaching out tiredly to wrap an arm around Midoriya's shoulders, tugging him closer to nuzzle into his soft curls.

"I'm sorry." He whispered, lacing their fingers together lightly. "I didn't mean to say something cruel."

Midoriya shushed him gently, tugging him closer and pressing their lips together, Amajiki shifting to press him back against the warm, smooth stones surrounding the bubbling spring. Midoriya parted his thighs to allow Amajiki to press closer, moaning softly as their movements grew more heated, kissing him back eagerly, relaxing beneath his hands and allowing Amajiki to take the lead.

The demons watching them shifted slightly to give their contractors some space, Amajiki quickly stripping Midoriya out of his clothing before ridding himself of his own, Midoriya gasping and crying out for him sharply as Amajiki took him into his mouth.

"Tamaki!" Midoriya whispered desperately in a rush of breath, pressing the back of his wrist firmly against his mouth and crying out against it, muffling his sounds the best he could as Amajiki continued to lick and suck.

Despite the eyes watching them, everything around them felt as if it began to fade away, and as Amajiki twined their fingers and took Midoriya into the back of his throat it was all Midoriya could do to keep himself teetering on the edge, the younger boy biting his lip and whimpering.

"Tamaki! Tamaki, please…!"

Amajiki coaxed him on, swallowing around him purposefully, flexing his tongue along the underside of Midoriya's cock and pulling back slightly only to take him deeply once again. He built a rough rhythm between them, Midoriya tangling his fingers in Amajiki's hair and arching his lower back against the warm stone.

"Fuck, baby! Fuck I'm gonna cum!"

Izuku

Midoriya's breath hitched and he opened his eyes, watching as Pino leaned closer, her pink hair cascading all around her, and as Amajiki pushed him over the edge Pino muffled his pleasured cries with her mouth.

Midoriya's orgasm rocked through him, leaving him breathless as he panted shakily against Pino's lips, and it took several moments for the blinding light overwhelming his vision to begin to fade away. Amajiki swallowed around him twice before lifting his head slightly, carefully beginning to untangle Midoriya's fingers from his hair with a husky chuckle.

It was only once he lifted his head completely and saw Pino beside Midoriya that his laughter faded, his brow arching as he inhaled sharply, his chest twisting with anxiety and confusion.

"Izuku? What-"

Pino turned to fix her sights on Amajiki, and she shifted closer with a little frown, knitting her brow and pouting lightly, curling her fingers against Amajiki's arm.

Together? He felt her whisper, and the nervousness and hesitancy he felt inside of himself wasn't solely his own. Please, Tamaki?

"I don't understand…" Amajiki murmured quietly, drawing away from her slightly, but as he pulled back she pressed forward, and she backed him against a corner between the cavern wall and the spring, pouting while watching him with bright, teary eyes.

Together. She insisted, reaching for his hand again, lacing their fingers gently, leaning closer to nuzzle her nose against Amajiki's jaw. Don't push us away.

"Pino, wait-" Midoriya called gently, coaxing her backwards to give Amajiki some space, the little demon's fluster only growing as tears welled up against her dark lashes and rosy cheeks. "It's alright. Hey, look at me? It's alright. Everything's okay."

Amajiki glanced up from Pino and Midoriya, searching for Rodi, but the other human was nowhere in sight. Pino was here alone without him, and Amajiki wasn't certain if he had ever spoken so intimately with a demon that was not his own before.

He's lonely. She warbled with a hitch of breath, and Amajiki returned his eyes to hers with anxiety twisting tightly in his stomach, his chest aching. I can't be there for him. Not like you. Don't chase him away. Please don't.

"I'm not trying to chase him away-" Amajiki started, but the words were caught in his throat.

Pino just watched him sadly, tears streaking silently down her face.

He's lost so much. He's in so much pain.

She reached for Amajiki, her fingers trembling against the air.

Can't he be like this with you?

She sniffed and reached up with her other hand to wipe at her eyes, sniffing and breathing shakily as she curled her fingers against the air.

He cares about you. He cares so much about you both.

Hawks was watching her quietly, shifting slightly closer to shelter Amajiki beneath his wings, Amajiki watching Pino for a long moment before asking worriedly, "What is this? What is she doing?"

"She's asking your permission." Hawks replied softly, dipping down a little to meet Amajiki's eyes. "She wants you to invite Rodi into your dynamic with Izuku."

"She wants us to share our energy?" Amajiki asked, still not fully understanding. "I thought her connection with Rodi was all she needed to sustain herself fully? Why does she suddenly want to share in a feeding?"

"She's not asking you to share your energy, Tamaki." Hawks clarified quietly. "She's asking you to be with Rodi the same way you are with Izuku."

Amajiki blinked slowly, shaking his head, looking up and meeting Midoriya's eyes. "Why? Why would she ask us for that?"

Midoriya's heart was fluttering, and gingerly he reached out and took Amajiki's hand, tugging him close once again. Pino reached out as Midoriya drew him closer, resting her palm against the back of Midoriya's hand, carefully curling her fingers around Amajiki's. "Tamaki, I…" He pinched his brow, holding Amajiki's eyes while admitting in a shaky exhale, "I have feelings for Rodi."

Amajiki's eyes widened and his chest twisted, a terrible aching sensation churning his insides into knots.

"I love you. I have always loved you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He tightened his hold on Amajiki's hand, whispering desperately, "I want to share my life with Rodi and Pino too."

Amajiki blinked back his tears, absorbing Midoriya's words for a long, quiet moment before asking hesitantly, "You want to have sex with him?"

Midoriya arched his brow, casting his gaze aside and shaking his head slowly. "I...I don't know. I've never really thought about that before, but earlier when I…" He paused to take a breath, pushing back his anxieties and forcing himself to continue on. "When I went to speak with him about what happened, Rodi kissed me, and now I can't stop thinking about what it would be like if we never saw each other again." He searched Amajiki's eyes, feeling his throat grow taut as tears blurred his sight. "I don't want us to split up and part ways, Tamaki. I want Rodi and Pino to be with us always." He hesitated, swallowing thickly and taking in a shaky breath before asking in little more than a whisper, "Is there any part of you that wants that too?"

Amajiki didn't respond for a long moment, then he asked in a trembling tone, "Rodi kissed you?"

"Yes." Midoriya whispered back gently, blinking back his tears, his chest so tight he could barely breathe.

"You let him?" Amajiki asked, and Midoriya nodded, ducking his head slightly. "Did you...did you kiss him back?"

"Yes." Midoriya whispered shakily, and Amajiki pulled back his hand, Midoriya whimpering quietly and trying not to panic as he fought to find his voice. "It's never happened before. It was the first time, I swear it. We were just talking, and then-"

Amajiki pushed himself to his feet, grabbing his clothes and shrugging into his pants, marching off towards the entrance of the cavern, Midoriya pushing himself up and scrambling after.

Pino chirped worriedly, flickering ahead of them to Rodi's side, twittering quickly to alert him of the upcoming altercation, Rodi letting out a heavy sigh and turning to face Amajiki as he emerged from the shadows.

There were several Aoyamas gathered around him, drones humming and fluttering past while attending to their duties, and Rodi dismissed them to a safe distance as Amajiki angrily approached.

"Tamaki!" Midoriya called out to him, but Hawks appeared suddenly to block his path, Bakugou and Todoroki rising to defend their contractor, Shinsou quickly getting between them and murmuring quietly for all of them to calm.

"They need to handle this without our interference." Shinsou growled quietly, gesturing for his cohabitors to back down before meeting Hawks' eyes, the fallen angel flexing his wings restlessly.

"Then don't interfere." Hawks growled back, turning to watch Amajiki and Rodi as they faced down one another, Pino chirping loudly and planting herself between them.

"Get out of my way." Amajiki growled down at her, and she frowned and chirped defiantly, tears gleaming in her bright blue eyes.

"Pino, it's alright. Let him say what he's come to say."

Amajiki took a step forward and Pino pushed Rodi back, continuing to watch Amajiki with a piercing gaze, stray tears dripping down her cheeks, her words ringing in Midoriya's mind.

He's lost so much.

Amajiki was shouting, but Midoriya couldn't hear him over the sound of his pulse pounding in his ears.

He's in so much pain.

He felt himself moving before he realized what he was doing, slipping under Hawks' crimson remiges and leaving his demons behind without a word. Amajiki's plethora rose against him as he ran forward, Shimura appearing in his path only to be shoved aside by Kirishima and Kaminari, Usagi growling as she reached out to stop him, Toga and Uraraka grabbing onto her arms and thwarting her attempt.

He's lonely.

Amajiki was screaming, his entire face flushed, tears threatening to spill down his cheeks. Rodi was listening quietly, his expression despondent beyond words, his brow arched apologetically and a small smile turning up his lips as he nodded his head lightly.

Don't chase him away.

Pino was flashing her fangs, hissing angrily, pushing Rodi back each and every time Amajiki tried to reach him, determined to protect her bonded from Amajiki's wrath.

Please don't.

Midoriya reached out and grabbed Amajiki's arm, tugging him away from Rodi, sending them both tumbling backwards into the dirt. Midoriya lost his grip as they fell and Amajiki pushed himself back to his feet, starting towards Rodi again, but Midoriya caught his leg and tripped him, Amajiki letting out a frustrated cry and turning on him instead.

It was the first time Amajiki had ever hit him and actually meant it, blood gushing from his nose and busted lip as Amajiki pulled back and stared down at him with wide eyes, breathing hard enough to hyperventilate.

"I-Izuku…?"

Rodi pushed Pino aside, crossing the small distance to reach Midoriya, assessing the damage with soft whispers of reassurance and carefully helping Midoriya to his feet. Amajiki reached out for him, but Rodi shoved him backwards roughly, glaring down at him with a snarl.

"Don't touch him." He hissed out under his breath, Midoriya sniffing and wincing as Pino drew closer and gently brushed her fingertips against his swollen cheek, warbling sadly and petting over his busted lip gently.

"I didn't mean to, Izuku I'm sorry-"

"It's okay." Midoriya murmured quietly, smoothing his fingers along Rodi's arm and smiling at Pino gently. "I'm alright. Everything's alright. Just trust me."

Rodi watched him quietly for a long moment before letting him go, and Midoriya took a few steps closer to Amajiki, reaching out to touch him tentatively.

"I'm sorry." Amajiki whispered miserably. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

"I'm sorry too. I didn't mean to hurt you."

"I'm so scared-" Amajiki sobbed softly, his brow pinched and his expressions twisting as he let out a shuddering breath, "I don't want him to take you away from me-"

"He won't. He won't." Midoriya whispered gently, hot tears streaking down his cheeks. "He doesn't want that. Neither of them do. They just want to be close to us, that's all. They want to be with us, together." He cupped Amajiki's cheek, drawing his face up until he could meet those dark indigo eyes. "Nothing can ever break us apart. I love you, Tamaki."

"I love you too." Amajiki sobbed, and Midoriya wrapped his arms around him tightly, Amajiki hiding his face and crying against Midoriya's throat, Midoriya relaxing with a quiet exhale and closing his eyes.

"I love you so much. Endlessly. We'll never be apart."

Rodi watched them quietly, smiling a little and nodding his head, Pino clinging to his fingers tightly. This was it. This was the start of something new. Something lasting they could both hold onto for years to come.

When Midoriya and Amajiki eventually parted, Rodi stepped closer, Pino pressed against his shoulder, hiding behind him slightly. Amajiki sniffed and wiped his eyes, exhaling quietly before meeting Rodi's gaze, apologizing for what he had spoken before out of anger and fear. Rodi shook his head, his brow smoothing, and gently he reached out and cupped Amajiki's face, petting over the curve of his jaw lightly.

"Now that this is out in the open," Rodi began with a little smile, "I want to tell you both how much you mean to me, how much your companionship has carried me during the time we've spent together. I understand if you need time to think about what it is you want from me, but I offer myself to you both willingly. I'm yours, to love or to hate. I'm yours."

Amajiki's face twisted a little, and he reached up to press his palm over the back of Rodi's hand, admitting quietly, "I don't hate you, Rodi. I never have."

Rodi's smile brightened and he chuckled merrily, humming and nodding his understanding, leaning closer to kiss Amajiki's forehead. "It's alright, Tamaki. I already know."

Midoriya blushed as he watched their exchange, the weight that had settled over his heart now lighter than air, the uncertainty and anxiety that had overwhelmed him moments ago replaced with gentle adoration unlike anything he'd ever felt before.

"I love you both so much." Midoriya whispered, and Amajiki's blush darkened, Rodi's cheery laughter filling the warm air.

"Love, huh? Been a long time since I've truly believed that word, coming from someone other than Pino anyway." He turned to Midoriya with a teasing smile, pressing a kiss to his forehead as well. "When you say it like that though, it makes me want to believe."

Shinsou stepped closer, Midoriya glancing up at him with a slight wince, the demon letting out an exasperated, if not affectionate sigh. He pet across Midoriya's brow and trailed down the bridge of his nose, lingering there for only a moment before flitting across his lips and the rise of his cheek, healing what damage had been done.

Amajiki watched with a sigh of relief, and as Shinsou pulled back he tugged Midoriya gingerly closer, searching his eyes and pressing soft kisses to his mended nose and cheek. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry…"

"I know, baby." Midoriya whispered back, peppering his wet cheeks with kisses just as sweetly. "Everything's alright now. Let's go back inside, okay?"

As they stepped away Rodi stayed behind, Pino looking up at him curiously, twittering softly and petting across his chest.

"Just wait." He murmured to her, and after a few steps Midoriya paused and looked back, catching Rodi's eyes, Amajiki turning to look back at him as well.

Amajiki was quiet as he watched Rodi and Pino, thinking of what he wanted, thinking of what Pino had asked of him, and the feelings Midoriya held for them both. He closed his eyes, feeling the restlessness within him begin to lull into a quiet calm, and then with only a fragment of hesitation he held out his hand, offering it to Rodi with a little smile.

"Come with us?"

Rodi's smile widened, a happy blush crossing his cheeks as he nodded and tugged Pino along beside him, taking Amajiki's hand and meeting Midoriya's eyes, walking after them into the cavern.

Their plethoras lingered near the mouth of the cave, exchanging soft words and watching their contractors go, Shinsou crossing his arms lightly over his chest, his tail lashing the air behind him.

It seemed that Midoriya had found a way to draw Rodi and Amajiki together, and for all of them to come to a mutual understanding. How their relationships would continue to develop and grow remained to be seen, but from what Shinsou had gleaned during that brief moment Midoriya had shared with Rodi and Pino, it was safe to say their newfound feelings would certainly whet all of their appetites.
