Ch 14: Recommence

Midoriya exhaled a quiet breath, opening his eyes slowly and waiting for his senses to return to him as he gradually returned to consciousness. There was movement nearby, steadily drawing closer, and a hand smoothed up his arm gently, a calm, even voice greeting his ears.

"Don't try to move quite yet, Izuku. Just breathe."

He'd heard that voice many times since his childhood, but never as clearly as this.

A smile turned up his lips, and a peal of laughter escaped him as he reached for Todoroki tiredly. "Shouto? You're really here?"

"I am." Todoroki replied calmly, gliding his warm palm over Midoriya's upper arm and shoulder, his fingers tracing over the human's fluttering pulse.

"I'm so happy it worked." Midoriya breathed out tiredly, blinking slowly as he tried to focus his sight. "Katsuki? Hanta?"

"They're near. They've been sparring with Shinsou while waiting for you to awaken."

Midoriya closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and pushing himself up, meeting Todoroki's eyes as the deviant reached out to help him balance.

His features were soft, his touch soothing and warm. There was a dark patch around his eye, a mark Midoriya had never witnessed before when Todoroki had appeared to him in haven or manifested near a hotspot. Midoriya reached out to touch it, finding it was hotter to the touch, abnormally so. As if the demon had been burned.

"Shouto?" Midoriya asked worriedly, searching his mismatched eyes. "Is everything alright? Are you hurt?"

Todoroki exhaled a soft breath of laughter, an affectionate smile teasing across his lips. "It's nothing to worry about. Simply a reflection of my curse."

"Curse?" Midoriya asked, and Todoroki hummed quietly, tilting his head towards the tunnel leading to the greenhouse, thinking for a few moments before responding.

"It is similar to the brand Pino wears, that prevents her from using her voice." He met Midoriya's concerned gaze, petting his jaw lightly. "Half of my sight was taken from me, in exchange for gifting me with my second quirk."

Midoriya's eyes widened, pinching his brow as he asked hesitantly, "You didn't always have a second quirk?"

Todoroki hummed, shaking his head lightly, and once Midoriya seemed stable enough he helped his contractor to his feet. "It is rare that some demons gain secondary quirks while still within the abyss, but more often than not they are gleaned by feats of strength, victories in battle, or striking a bargain with another demon to acquire theirs."

Midoriya nodded slowly, his eyes traveling down Todoroki's chest, reaching out to touch the woven off-white fabric covering his skin from view, noting the green logo and leaf symbols on the hems of his sweater and oversized pants. "I see you found some clothes?"

"The androids have been tending to us." Todoroki replied casually, and as he began walking towards the tunnel Midoriya followed after him, the human's fingers twined with his own.

As they neared the mouth of the cave shouting greeted his ears, and Midoriya pressed closer to Todoroki's side before slipping past him, lifting his arm to shield his eyes from the overhead lights.

"Again!" Bakugou growled, and Shinsou surged forward with unfurled wings, latching onto the deviant with claws and talons, the chaos gnashing his fangs as Bakugou gathered his quirk for a counterattack.

Sero and Toga were sparring as well, the greaters weaving through fields of wheat and corn before leaping into the air, fighting above the crops before gravity tugged them back down again and they took off running once more.

"You're awake!" Rodi called, stepping closer to the cavern with Pino at his side, Midoriya smiling and taking a few steps across the dirt to greet him, the older boy wrapping his arms around him in a warm embrace. "About time! You must be starving!"

"How long was I out?" Midoriya asked, glancing back at Todoroki as Rodi ushered him away towards the crop fields, Pino taking hold of his hand and chirping excitedly, Midoriya offering her a gentle smile.

"Almost two days! After refining four contracts in one go, it's a wonder you didn't sleep longer!" Rodi laughed heartily while patting Midoriya's back, the younger boy laughing sheepishly, reaching up to card his fingers through his messy hair while Rodi led him along. "You never would have pulled that off had it not been for the hotspot, not by a long shot! You're lucky you got your timing just right!"

"Two days? It's really been that long?" Midoriya shook his head in disbelief, glancing around the fields surrounding them while asking hesitantly, "Where's Tamaki? I haven't seen any of his plethora since I woke up."

Rodi was quiet for a moment, exchanging a look with Pino before offering Midoriya a smile, "He's at the lab again, actually. He's been working with Shouji, researching where other greenhouses may still be active and functioning like this one." Rodi shrugged a little as he stopped beside a research center, gesturing for Midoriya to sit at the table before walking towards a patch of vegetables nearby. "We thought it would be a good idea to keep an eye out for them once we hit the road again. You never know when we might need to seek shelter underground."

Midoriya propped his elbows against the table, humming while resting his cheek against his hand. "Yeah, that's a good idea. It'll be like knowing the location of potential untapped bunkers." Midoriya smiled and his expression softened, adding on with a hint of teasing in his tone, "I'm glad the two of you are getting along now. I was worried leaving you alone together for too long might not be the best idea." He grinned as Rodi chuckled, his eyes drifting across the crop fields as he murmured softly, "I had no idea I'd sleep for two whole days. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it."

"How are you feeling?" Rodi asked, bringing several different peppers and a handful of leafy greens to the table before turning towards another cluster of crops. "Any pain? Dizziness? Are you feeling sick at all?"

"No, no I'm just tired." Midoriya replied with a quiet yawn, blinking slowly as he watched Rodi with mild interest, Pino flitting here and there as she watched over them both. "You'd think I'd be well rested after sleeping so long, but somehow I'm still exhausted."

"We'll see how you feel after breakfast and a shower. How's that sound?" Rodi asked, tossing a head of cabbage towards the table, Pino catching it mid-air and bringing it to Midoriya's side. Rodi returned after a little more digging, placing a cluster of carrots and potatoes beside the other vegetables, setting to work with his knife while Pino gathered fresh water from the pump nearby.

They put together a meal of mixed salad and fresh vegetables, and it wasn't long before a set of Aoyamas came to investigate the depletion of the nearby crops. The androids left them to themselves for the most part, clicking and beeping back and forth as they cataloged what had been taken, several tiny drones coming to clean away what excess had been left behind before starting to plant replacement crops in the upturned soil.

"Amazing little things, aren't they?" Rodi said with a happy sigh, grinning from ear to ear as the Aoyamas supervised the drones' progress. "My father would have loved to see this place. Twenty years from now I wonder what it will be like. The trees will be taller then, and ready to produce nuts and fruit. It'll be quite the sight."

Midoriya took another bite of his carrot, chewing quietly as he asked, "Some of the trees are already producing fruit, right?"

"Some, yes. The apple orchard is growing nicely, and that's certainly one of my favorites." Rodi grinned and looked to Pino, offering her a cabbage leaf, the demon wrinkling her nose and opting to kiss his cheek instead. Rodi chuckled quietly, wrapping his arm around her waist to keep her close, whispering to her soft affections, Pino blushing lightly and searching his eyes, purring happily as he spoke.

Midoriya turned his gaze from them towards the illuminated lab above the crop fields, taking another bite before asking hesitantly, "Can we go see Tamaki? I thought I heard him call for me before, when everything was happening. I couldn't respond to him, I was too caught up in everything else that was going on. I want to make sure he's okay."

Rodi watched Midoriya quietly, not responding for several moments until Midoriya met his eyes, Pino glancing between them with a hint of worry creasing her brow.

"Izuku." Rodi said quietly, reaching over to touch the back of his hand. "While you were allowing your plethora to feed, Tamaki tried to interfere. There was...an altercation, mainly between him and Shinsou. His plethora hasn't let any of yours anywhere close to Amajiki since then."

"What?" Midoriya asked breathlessly, not fully understanding, shaking his head as he glanced towards the lab again. "An altercation? What happened? Is Tamaki okay?"

"He's alright physically. Everything happened in haven, while we were submerged in astral. It just…" Rodi met Pino's eyes, petting along her side gently before continuing hesitantly, "Hawks doesn't trust Shinsou around Amajiki anymore. Neither does Shimura, or Usagi." He reached up to card his fingers through his long hair, letting out a tense sigh. "I honestly don't know if there's anything that can be done to repair what damage has been done. They've been like this since that first night. Maybe now that you're awake you can try talking to them, but you need to be careful, Izuku. They're on the defensive, and if Shinsou tries to draw close while you're speaking with them, it'll only make things worse."

"I'll make sure he doesn't." Midoriya murmured with an irritated frown, getting up from his seat and beginning the long walk towards the front of the greenhouse, Rodi and Pino quickly catching up to him, the petite demon offering out her hand.

"C'mon." Rodi said, and where their hands met her feathers began sprouting along his tanned skin. "We'll help you."

Rodi and Pino melded into one, and when Rodi kicked off of the ground he held onto Midoriya's hand, Pino keeping them afloat and gliding quietly above the crops. They landed at the foot of the stairs, and the pair separated once again, Midoriya already starting up the stairs before something reached out and stopped him.

It was Uraraka tugging at his wrist, keeping him from taking another step forward.

Midoriya turned towards the greater as she watched him worriedly, Midoriya taking her hand and searching her eyes, immediately sensing her distress. "Ochaco, what is it? What's wrong?"

They won't let us any closer. She whispered worriedly, her manifestation flickering as she held his eyes, her grip on his fingers tightening. They've erected a barrier to keep us away from Amajiki. If you go to them, we won't be able to rise to help you should something go wrong.

Midoriya frowned and looked from Uraraka towards the glass doors at the top of the stairs, anxiety twisting tightly in his stomach. "They went that far just to keep you away? I don't understand-"

I witnessed everything that happened. Uraraka said hesitantly, Midoriya meeting her eyes once more. Amajiki was afraid, he tried to reach out to you. His plethora held him back, but he went to you regardless of the danger involved.

Her visage flickered again, her voice fading in and out as she hovered on the edge of astral.

Shinsou stopped him, Shinsou stopped him from reaching you, before Bakugou or Todoroki could. If they had reached Amajiki, if they had tried to stop him instead, they would have hurt him. They wouldn't have known their own strength.

She searched Midoriya's eyes, willing him to understand.

Shinsou protected him from something worse happening, but regardless of that, he hurt Amajiki. He scared him. He scared his plethora too.

Midoriya frowned, his heart hammering in his chest, nodding his understanding as he squeezed her hand. "Alright, I understand." He looked to the glass doors again, taking a step away from Uraraka, and with each step he ascended the blank, numb weight of the barrier pressed further against his mind, taking his breath away, his plethoras' voices fading into silence. He continued forward, trusting that Amajiki wouldn't allow any of his plethora to harm him, regardless of their anger towards Shinsou.

As he reached the top of the stairs the doors opened, and Amajiki looked up from a set of monitors with a start, meeting Midoriya's eyes.

"Izuku-" Amajiki breathed, his face conveying his relief, and he pushed back his chair and crossed the distance still separating them, throwing his arms around Midoriya and hugging him tight. "Oh I was so worried-"

"I'm okay." Midoriya murmured gently, hugging him back just as tightly, Amajiki pulling back to search his eyes, cupping his face and knitting his brow, tears welling up in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there with you when you woke up." Amajiki said with a hitch of breath, his grip only tightening as he ducked his head and let out a quiet sob, "I was so worried that you wouldn't wake up-"

"Hey, look at me. Tamaki." Midoriya coaxed Amajiki's face up, searching his eyes, pressing a kiss to his forehead and another to his temple, tracing his lips down his cheek to murmur against his ear, "I'm so sorry I worried you. I didn't mean to scare you." He laced their fingers together gently, holding onto him while whispering soft reassurances, "I promise I won't do anything like that again, not without telling you first. I'm sorry to have scared you like that, baby. Are you okay? You're not hurt?"

Amajiki sniffed and shook his head, glancing away a little at that. "I'm okay, really." He closed his eyes for a moment, shaking his head as he asked, "Rodi told you what happened?"

"Rodi, and Uraraka. She was there to witness the whole thing." Midoriya said quietly, Amajiki nodding and pressing his face against Midoriya's throat, hiding away as he tightened his hold on the younger boy's shoulders and back.

"You gave away your soul." Amajiki whispered tearily, and Midoriya could feel wetness against the collar of his shirt. "How could you do that again? How could you?"

"I did it to protect you." Midoriya whispered gently, cupping Amajiki's head and pressing kisses against his dark hair. "I wanted to be able to protect you and Rodi. When we leave this place, I want to be able to keep you safe from that chaos. If it comes to a fight, I want us to stand a real chance-"

Amajiki shook his head, breathing out shakily, "It's not worth it, it's not worth your soul."

"Protecting you is worth everything. Do you hear me?" Midoriya pushed Amajiki back gently, combing his bangs away from his forehead and searching his indigo eyes. "You mean everything to me. I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe. You and Rodi make this life worth living. I'd rather be devoured than live this life without you."

"You're an idiot-" Amajiki sobbed quietly, his breath hitching as he fought to breathe, "You don't understand, you can't save me-"

"Like hell I can't." Midoriya growled out, tears blurring his sight as he pressed their foreheads together. "Like hell if I won't die trying."

Amajiki hiccupped between sobs, laughing and smiling through his tears, clinging to Midoriya as he choked out breathlessly, "I love you. I love you. I love you, Izuku. I love you so much it hurts."

"I know. I know." Midoriya whispered, sharing soft kisses with him between trembling breaths. "I love you too."

Hawks watched from the edge of reality and astral, Shimura beside him with her arms crossed over her chest, Usagi growling softly as she watched the humans together.

We're just going to let this go? How can we trust him?

Shimura hummed quietly, her tail curling against Usagi's and tugging gently, the older deviant staring at Midoriya for a long time before her expression turned to something soft.

We may not trust him, but we can trust Midoriya.

Shimura looked to her companion, Usagi frowning lightly as she searched Shimura's dark eyes.

The love he holds for our host is genuine and pure. The energy they design together is bountiful and rich. We cannot separate them. We cannot keep them apart.

If Shinsou touches Amajiki again, Hawks growled out, his feathers bristling as his wings shifted behind him, If he threatens our contractor in any way, I will challenge him myself.

He bared his fangs, growling low in the back of his throat, his golden eyes gleaming with unholy light.

I will not sit quietly by and allow him to abuse our host. If he had truly hurt Tamaki while in astral, the damages reflected in reality could have proven to be catastrophic. He could have killed our host-

He could have, yes. Yet he didn't. Shimura said calmly, watching Hawks with an even gaze, the fallen angel spreading his wings before folding them against his spine once more. He had every opportunity to inflict real damage, and he chose not to. We ourselves are to blame for putting our host in such a vulnerable situation. We should have refused him. He never should have witnessed such a thing.

Hawks growled out his frustration, his feathers bristling further as he turned away from Midoriya and Amajiki, Usagi frowning a little as she watched him go. She waited a few moments before shifting forward, drawing closer to the humans as they continued to speak quietly and hold one another, observing the way Midoriya interacted with their host, her tail flicking irritably behind her.

Shimura watched her companion with a small smile, sharing in her protectiveness, but trusting Midoriya to be alone with Amajiki regardless of Shinsou's actions before. She reached for her quirk, gradually beginning to withdraw the heavy gravity keeping Midoriya's plethora suppressed, and as she turned away to leave the humans to themselves Usagi followed after.

Midoriya felt it as that suffocating weight lifted, taking a deep breath and letting out a tired sigh, feeling the familiar hum of his plethora return to the back of his mind.

Uraraka was there immediately, pressing her palm against his shoulder and smiling against his cheek, planting a soft kiss against his freckles before fading away once more.

Midoriya met Amajiki's eyes, offering him a tired little smile while asking gingerly, "Rodi mentioned something about a shower?"

Amajiki grinned and laughed softly, wiping at his flushed cheeks and nodding, taking Midoriya's hand and tugging him along to a small employee lounge, showing him the resting area and communal bathroom just beyond.

Midoriya reached out to turn on the closest shower, pleasantly surprised to find creature comforts such as soap and shampoo along the wall, quickly stripping out of his clothes and stepping in under the spray, Amajiki fetching him a towel from the nearby cabinet. Midoriya watched him through the glass door as he lathered shampoo into his tangled curls, noting how tired Amajiki looked as well, asking with a hint of curiosity, "Have you found anything? Are there other greenhouses nearby?"

"Not nearby, no. They're spread fairly far apart. With the distance we travel while flying, it shouldn't take us longer than a few days to reach the next one." He was quiet for a moment before adding, "Factoring in the possibility that Shinsou might need to warp us somewhere, I've programmed a series of drones to act as a sort of compass to guide us to nearby greenhouses. Even if we end up half-way across the world, they should connect to the nearest location via satellite and synchronize our positions, then lead us to an active facility. That's the theory, at least."

Midoriya ducked his head beneath the spray to rinse his hair, saying in an excited tone, "That sounds amazing! I'm surprised the drones are even capable of that!" He combed his hair away from his eyes, reaching for the soap while asking curiously, "Did you figure out all of this by yourself?"

Amajiki laughed a little, shaking his head. "No, nothing like that! Rodi showed me the basics and Shouji gave me access to what I needed, and from there I just changed around some of the pre-programed settings to fit our needs. They did most of the work, really. I simply fine-tuned a few things."

Midoriya grinned as he scrubbed his skin, rinsing for a moment before beginning to lather once more, bubbles cascading down his frame and circling the shower drain. "It sounds far too complicated for me. I'm glad you and Rodi are at least able to understand it all. I'd be totally lost without you."

Amajiki watched over Midoriya quietly as he set aside his soap and began to thoroughly rinse, sliding his sweater up and over his head before loosening his drawstrings and stepping out of his pants, opening the glass door and pressing close against Midoriya's side.

Midoriya laughed as he realized what was happening, turning to draw Amajiki closer as he was pressed back against the shower wall, wrapping his arms around Amajiki's neck and kissing him gently, the room quickly gathering steam as hot water continued to rain down upon them.

Midoriya kissed Amajiki sweetly, over and over again, pulling back and searching his eyes before pressing closer and tightening his hold, moaning softly against his lips.

"Can I touch you?" Amajiki asked, his fingers trembling as he smoothed his hands along Midoriya's waist. "Are you too tired? Is it okay?"

"It's more than okay. I want you to." Midoriya whispered back eagerly, gasping and moaning as Amajiki pressed him back against the wall, pinning his wrists and kissing him slow and deep, grinding their hips together so they could feel everything the other had to offer.

Amajiki kissed him with growing urgency, hot and heavy as he reached down and wrapped his hand around them both, Midoriya moaning and bucking against his hand, precum steadily dribbling down his straining cock.

"Fuck me~" Midoriya whispered needily, gasping as Amajiki nipped at his lips and licked into his mouth. "Fuck me, Tamaki. Fuck me, please~"

"Turn around." Amajiki panted shakily, taking Midoriya's hips and turning him so he was facing the shower wall, Midoriya biting his lip and giggling merrily, his face flushed as he peered back over his shoulder at the boy behind him.

Amajiki glanced around for a moment, then when finding nothing satisfactory he murmured under his breath.

"Komori."

Midoriya arched his brow a bit, uncertain what was happening, before Amajiki slipped his fingers between his cheeks, spreading something warm and slick against his skin. Midoriya gasped aloud, blushing brighter than before while asking breathlessly, "What-?"

"Coconut oil." Amajiki supplied, already working in his first finger, Midoriya moaning and pressing his cheek against the tiled wall while curling his fingers against it, arching his back and spreading his legs a bit wider to give Amajiki more access. "Does it feel good?"

"It's warm." Midoriya murmured, inhaling sharply and letting out a heated moan as Amajiki added a second finger, the younger boy biting his lip and rolling his hips back gingerly. "Mmh, yeah. Yeah it feels good…"

"Good, baby. That's good." Amajiki whispered, smiling as he leaned closer to kiss across Midoriya's shoulder and nape. "I want it to feel good for you."

By the third finger Midoriya was a mess, his cock swaying heavily between his legs as he rocked against Amajiki's fingers, the tips just barely brushing against his prostate. He ducked his head and panted shakily, urging Amajiki on. "Please, Tamaki! Fuck me! Please, I need it!"

Amajiki was all too willing to give him what he asked, pressing close and slicking the head of his cock between Midoriya's cheeks, kissing at his shoulder while murmuring, "I love you Izuku. I love you."

"Love you too, baby…" Midoriya whispered back with a hitch of breath, his brow arching and his toes curling as Amajiki started pressing in, closing his eyes and turning his face to hide his hot cheeks against the curve of his arm. "Oh fuck, Tamaki! Fuck!"

Amajiki gripped his hips, waiting until he had pressed in fully to the hilt before tugging Midoriya backwards slightly, arching his stomach and chest away from the wall, taking care to ensure their footing was sound before starting a slow pace between them. The shower continued to rain down upon them just slightly to the side, Amajiki panting quietly and watching the arch of Midoriya's back and shoulders as he tightened his grip and quickened his pace, Midoriya moaning out sweetly beneath him.

He closed his eyes, exhaling a deep, shaky breath, and gave in to the sensation of Midoriya's entire being. He breathed him in, memorizing the smooth curve of his pelvis beneath his fingertips, the warmth of his damp, scar-littered skin, the scent of his natural musk mixed with the shampoo and soap he had used before.

How many more days do we have together?

How many more times will I be able to experience this with him before I fade from this world?

Hawks watched over his contractor with a soft, half-lidded gaze, blinking slowly and crossing his arms lightly over his chest, his crimson wings shifting behind him. He could feel Amajiki's disquiet, his uncertainty and fear, despite the intimacy he was currently engaged in with Midoriya. He took a quiet breath, arching his brow and gingerly shifting closer, not reaching out to touch Amajiki, simply watching over him with concern.

There was tension coiled tightly in his shoulders, his chest and throat suddenly drawn taut, and though Midoriya couldn't see his companion's face from his current position, hot tears had begun steadily welling up in Amajiki's dark eyes.

Hawks hesitated for several moments longer before reaching out and gliding his fingertips along Amajiki's side, leaning closer to murmur against the shell of his ear.

Tamaki, do you need to stop?

Amajiki shook his head, a soft hiccup escaping him, his face crumpling at Hawks' gentle touch as hot tears coursed down his cheeks. He tightened his hold on Midoriya's hips and pressed forward, quickening his pace, Midoriya crying out in earnest and bracing himself against the shower wall, his shoulders trembling as pleasure wracked through him from head to toe.

"Tamaki! Ah yes!" He curled his fingers against the tile before splaying them once again, pressing his cheek against the curve of his fingers while moaning out in hot hitches of breath, "Fuck! Mmh yeah, that feels so good-"

When Amajiki arched his back a bit further and quickened his pace Midoriya's footing started to slip, but Amajiki was there to catch him, holding him up with a sure grip and pressing him further against the wall, pinning him in place.

"Fuck, yes! Please! Oh fuck yes I'm gonna cum!"

That's what I want. Amajiki let out a soft whisper of breath while pressing his lips against Midoriya's shoulder, nuzzling into the curve of his neck. This is what I want you to remember - The way you felt when you were with me, how it made you feel when I was inside of you. The way it was when we were together.

He felt Hawks' touch again, careful and gentle along the ridges of his spine.

Just me and you against the world.

Midoriya cried out sharply as he came, trembling shudders coursing through his body as he clenched tightly around Amajiki's cock, the older boy's breath hitching as Midoriya's climax coaxed him closer to the edge. He blinked absently, hot tears streaking slowly down his flushed cheeks, kissing at Midoriya's nape while petting along his hips and up his sides, his cock throbbing defiantly as he gradually slowed his pace.

Midoriya moaned appreciatively as Amajiki continued thrusting into him slowly, his clenching gradually lessening as his afterglow settled over his mind. He laughed breathlessly while leaning back to offer Amajiki a kiss, meeting his eyes breathlessly and noticing for the first time his companion's eyes were glassy and red.

"Tamaki? What's wrong, are you okay?"

Amajiki blinked away the tears gathering in his lashes, his brow arching apologetically as he ducked his head and laughed, petting along the curve of Midoriya's ribs reverently. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just feeling a bit out of it today, I guess."

Midoriya's frown only grew, and gently he pushed Amajiki back enough that he could turn around and face him, wrapping his arms around his companion's neck tightly, cupping the back of his head to draw his face against the curve of his neck.

"We didn't have to-" He tightened his hold, his voice strained with worry, "I'm sorry, I thought you wanted to-"

"I wanted to. I did. I want to." Amajiki murmured gently, finding Midoriya's hand and lacing their fingers gently, squeezing tight enough to turn his knuckles white. "It's nothing. I promise you it's nothing. Everything's okay. I'm just thinking too much."

Midoriya was quiet for a while, petting through Amajiki's hair and holding onto him tightly, his mind reeling with unanswered questions and uncertainty, until finally he asked in a soft hitch of breath, "Is it Rodi? Are you upset about what happened before?"

"No." Amajiki whispered gently, pulling back enough that he could meet Midoriya's eyes. "We talked more about it, while you were sleeping. Everything's alright between us. You don't have to worry about that."

Midoriya nodded hesitantly, glancing to the side, his fingertips trailing across Amajiki's chest. "You aren't upset about what happened with Shinsou?"

Amajiki considered for a moment, then lightly shook his head. "It was my own fault. I shouldn't have interrupted. I understand he did what he did instinctually, to protect you."

Midoriya nodded again, still not understanding what Amajiki wasn't saying, and after a few moments of silence between them Midoriya looked up into his dark eyes, asking softly, "When do you want to go?"

Amajiki shifted his hand to cup a freckled cheek, searching Midoriya's eyes while replying easily, "Whenever you're certain you're ready. I'm alright with waiting a little longer, if you need more time to recover."

Midoriya nodded, reaching up to cup the back of Amajiki's hand, pressing his cheek further against his palm. He searched his eyes, the sounds of the shower filling the heavy silence, steam thickening the air around them, until finally Midoriya's expression smoothed and he leaned closer for another kiss.

He slipped his fingers down Amajiki's taut abdomen, teasing his fingertips just under the dip of his navel before asking softly, "Do you want me to get you off? You didn't cum with me before-"

Amajiki laughed quietly, petting Midoriya's cheeks and murmuring teasingly, "You don't have to even the score, Izuku. I'm perfectly content with having gotten you off-"

"I want to." Midoriya insisted gently, searching Amajiki's eyes. "Do you want me to?"

Amajiki held his eyes, leaning closer to press their mouths together once more, tracing his lips and tongue against Midoriya's sweetly, moving slow and gentle to share his breath.

"I love you. More than anything." Amajiki whispered, kissing Midoriya slowly, pausing between each press of lips to pet his cheeks and search his eyes. "More than everything else precious and beautiful in this world. I love you. I love you, Izuku."

"I love you too." Midoriya whispered, searching Amajiki's eyes while tracing his fingertips against the curve of Amajiki's hands and wrists tenderly, wondering what the other boy was thinking, wondering what wasn't being said. He kissed Amajiki slowly, sweetly, the desire between them gradually building once again, until eventually Amajiki reached for Midoriya's waist and the younger boy shifted back again, crying out heatedly as Amajiki lifted him against the shower wall.

Amajiki kissed him over and over, drinking in his moans, licking across his tongue and stealing his breath as he fucked into him roughly. Midoriya's toes flexed and curled against the air as he cried out and clung to Amajiki's shoulders, his straining cock smearing precum between them as he begged needily for more. Amajiki gave him what he wanted, everything he asked, tucking his face against Midoriya's shoulder and thrusting hard against his prostate, the younger boy practically screaming as Amajiki pushed him over the edge.

This time Amajiki spilled with him, thrusting in to the hilt and going still, his cock twitching as he filled Midoriya with sporadic bursts of heat, the younger boy whining breathlessly and tightening his grip on Amajiki's dark hair.

"Love you, sweetheart…" Midoriya breathed out in a trembling tone, Amajiki panting between soft kisses, rolling his hips while shifting Midoriya slightly higher against the wall. "I love you so, so much."

Amajiki just breathed, his lips trembling and his brow knitting as he ducked his head once more, Midoriya holding onto him tightly and pressing kisses against his crown. He whispered soft reassurances while slowly combing his fingers through Amajiki's damp hair, waiting patiently until his companion was ready to return him to his feet, tracing his lips over Amajiki's forehead and cheeks as they shared in their afterglow.

Amajiki held him up for a little longer before carefully lowering his feet back to the warm, wet tiles beneath them, Midoriya grinning and giggling softly while turning to dunk his head beneath the hot water, letting out a contented sigh. They stayed just long enough to rinse themselves thoroughly before finally turning off the water and wrapping themselves up in fluffy towels, padding together into the adjacent lounge and searching through the cabinets for fresh clothing. Amajiki was quiet, his mind elsewhere, and Midoriya watched over him carefully, lacing their fingers once more as soon as they both had fully dressed.

Amajiki smiled and kissed his temple, squeezing his fingers back gently, and when they reentered the main laboratory Rodi and Pino were there to greet them, Hawks fully manifested at their side.

Amajiki tensed a little at seeing the deviant in reality, stepping closer while asking worriedly, "What is it? What's wrong."

"We've got company." Rodi replied with a frown, gesturing to a pair of monitors nearby, Hawks stepping back to allow Midoriya and Amajiki to draw close.

"Unbound?" Midoriya asked, shivering lightly while pressing close to Amajiki's side, Rodi reaching out and pointing towards the map displaying their current location, and two blinking icons drawing steadily closer to the farm.

"With the way they're moving, I'd say it's more than just that." Hawks replied, his tone strained, his mouth set into a firm line. "I think this might be what we've tried our best to avoid these past several years."

"The chaos?" Amajiki whispered, tightening his hold on Midoriya's hand, and Hawks hummed thoughtfully while nodding, shifting to look back towards the giant windows overlooking the vast fields of crops.

"We need Shinsou here, to be sure."

Midoriya watched Hawks closely, hesitating for only a moment before asking gingerly, "Is it alright if I call for him?"

Hawks was quiet, unresponsive for several long moments, before he turned his gaze to meet Midoriya's eyes, the deviant gradually nodding. Midoriya offered him an apologetic smile, then reached for the link binding him together with Shinsou, tugging at it gently and waiting for the chaos to answer his call.

He was with them in a heartbeat, stepping closer to Midoriya's side while wiping sweat and dirt from his brow, his tail lashing the air behind him as he grinned down at his contractor and chuckled heartily.

"Need something, sleepyhead?"

Midoriya exhaled a quiet sigh, glancing between Shinsou and Hawks hesitantly, sensing the lingering tension between them, wondering if something more needed to be said. He considered for a moment before dismissing his unease, focusing instead on their more immediate concerns.

"Something's coming." Midoriya said, gesturing towards the monitors, Shinsou frowning a bit and taking a step closer. "Do you think it could be-?"

"It's them." Shinsou breathed out with an irritated hiss, narrowing his eyes and drawing back slightly to meet Hawks' quiet gaze. The demons watched one another for a long moment, then Shinsou exhaled roughly and reached up to card his fingers through his hair, looking down at Amajiki with a little frown.

Amajiki held his gaze briefly before glancing away, Midoriya arching his brow with concern, squeezing his companion's fingers tightly.

Shinsou watched him silently, then slowly he shifted closer, reaching out to touch Amajiki's arm, gliding his fingertips up to brush against the curve of his throat.

"I'm sorry I hurt you." Shinsou said softly, his claws lingering over Amajiki's fluttering pulse. "I'm sorry that I frightened you. I reacted poorly in that moment, and didn't consider your feelings." He pulled back his fingers slightly, tracing his clawtips along the curve of Amajiki's jaw. "Can you try to forgive me?"

Amajiki exhaled shakily, not responding, considering for several long moments before hesitantly meeting Shinsou's eyes.

Hawks was watching the chaos with a piercing gaze, his wings fluffing up as his crimson feathers bristled against his shoulders, his claws extending instinctually as he watched the other demon interact with his host.

Shinsou held Amajiki's eyes, waiting to see if the human would respond, but when Amajiki said nothing in reply he lowered his voice and tried again. "Whatever happens next, we need to work together as a united front. I need you and your plethora to trust me, so I can keep both of you safe." He looked to Midoriya, then returned his gaze to Amajiki. "It was not my intention to damage the relationship between us. I understand if you need time to learn to trust me again, but I'm afraid what time we have left may be drawing dangerously short."

Amajiki arched his brow, glancing to the side, exhaling heavily and closing his eyes, finally nodding his head.

"You're right. There's no time, and we can't go into this fight while divided." He looked to Hawks, and the fallen angel hummed his understanding while nodding his head, shifting his wings so that his feathers smoothed once more.

"Had Midoriya tried to interfere while we were in the midst of refining our contracts, it's hard to say if we wouldn't have reacted the same way." He sighed irritably, glancing towards the monitors once more, pausing briefly before adding on, "It was my fault as well. I shouldn't have allowed our host to enter into such a dangerous situation. We knew before submerging him in astral what we were getting ourselves into. I should have refused to allow him to witness such a thing, despite his anger in that moment."

Amajiki ducked his head, tightening his hold on Midoriya's fingers while nodding. "They told me I couldn't interrupt what was happening, but I tried to go to you anyway. I shouldn't have acted rashly. I should have listened-"

"I should have talked to you about what was happening. I'm so sorry I scared you." Midoriya murmured gently, turning to wrap his arms around Amajiki's neck, the older boy letting out a tense breath before wrapping his arms around Midoriya's waist. "I'm so sorry that happened. I'm so sorry."

Shinsou smiled a little, crossing his arms over his chest, Hawks' expression gradually smoothing as well. Rodi and Pino watched quietly from nearby, until suddenly proximity alarms began chiming from overhead, and Shouji's voice greeted their ears.

[Unrecognized energy source detected aboveground.]

A rumbling sounded from somewhere in the distance, tremors quaking through the bunker and sending clouds of dust and dirt showering down from above.

[Fire Warning issued for the following: Southern Fields 5A, 5B, 6B, 7C. Affected crops: wheat-grains and corn.]

Shinsou bared his fangs, manifesting his wings and raising them over Amajiki and Midoriya like a shield, Bakugou and Todoroki suddenly at their sides.

[Damage to Southern Grid currently assessed at 67%. Fire spreading to surrounding fields. Dispatching emergency drones to extinguish.]

"We need to get out of here." Bakugou hissed between his teeth. "We need to get aboveground-"

"They sensed us from a distance. They haven't ascertained our exact location." Todoroki added calmly, humming while casting his eyes across the laboratory. "Do we have everything we need? Is there anything that mustn't be left behind?"

Rodi turned in a half-circle and reached for a set of bags he'd piled nearby, hoisting one onto his shoulder. "We've had everything packed, waiting for Izuku to awaken. I can't think of anything else we need to take with us." He looked to Amajiki next, holding his eyes. "Tamaki? Are we ready?"

Amajiki nodded, Midoriya reaching out to touch Todoroki's chest while whispering worriedly, "The others? Hanta? Himiko?"

"We're here!" Toga called, stepping through the glass doors just before Sero, the petite greater glancing around the laboratory with wide, gleaming eyes. Sero offered Midoriya a grin and a reassuring nod, keeping close to Toga's side, Hawks turning to watch the pair of greaters as they approached.

"There's some structural damage to the ceiling over the western fields, a bunch of drones headed that way to reinforce the walls after the quake." Sero looked to Shinsou as he spoke, asking with mild hesitation, "Should we leave through the farmhouse? Is there another way out where we won't be seen?"

"The hotspot." Shinsou replied, meeting Hawks' eyes. "There are places where the cavern ceiling draws close to the surface. We could break through and escape from there. It might give us a small advantage before they're on top of us."

"Then that's where we'll go." He nodded his consent to Shinsou, beckoning Amajiki and Midoriya along with him. "Come with me. I'll lead the way."

Amajiki and Midoriya both grabbed a bag and followed after Hawks, Rodi and Pino right beside them, Shinsou meeting Bakugou's eyes before giving a succinct nod.

"Alright. You know what to do."

Bakugou and Todoroki flickered out of sight, and Shinsou turned his attention to Sero and Toga, the greaters watching him expectantly. "Just like we planned?" Sero asked, Toga bouncing on her heels, her tail swaying excitedly behind her.

Shinsou nodded, folding his wings against his shoulders, gesturing lightly as he spoke. "Be cautious as you approach. His keihai is likely to have ascended as well. She may prove to be more than the two of you can handle."

"We won't take any unnecessary risks." Sero replied with a nod, holding Shinsou's eyes. "Bind and run. We'll do what we can to slow them down-"

"Leave the chaos to us. Focus solely on his keihai." Shinsou clarified, already walking towards the glass doors. "Unless we call on you for backup, do not interfere."

"We'll be careful!" Toga grinned, and as Shinsou turned his eyes away she flickered out of sight as well, Sero lingering only for a moment before disappearing after her.

It didn't take much for Shinsou to catch up with the others, and as they neared the hotsprings another thunderous tremor shook through the ground, Midoriya throwing his arms out to the side to try and remain on his feet. Amajiki huffed and shoved himself up from where he'd half-fallen against a large stalagmite, Rodi reaching out to steady Midoriya and check in with him briefly before continuing on. Pino watched over Amajiki in similar fashion, staying close to his side and chirping up at him quietly, Amajiki peering down at her with a strained expression and offering her a little smile.

Ahead of them, Hawks and Shimura stood together beneath a large open dome, Usagi eyeing the ceiling and flexing her fists, crouching down and readying herself for a powerful lunge.

"Once we break through you mustn't hesitate." Usagi growled in the back of her throat, her eyes on the stalactites high above them. "Don your wings, be ready to fly."

"What about you?" Midoriya asked, turning to fix Shinsou in his sights. "How will you fly if we borrow your wings?"

"We have other talents to rely upon." Shinsou reassured, giving Midoriya an impish smile. "We didn't always possess such means of flight."

"Come." Hawks ushered, and Amajiki stepped forward, ruby feathers manifesting along his scapulae and gathering steadily as Hawks relinquished his wings. "Head to the closest shelter in the opposite direction of the chaos. Even if you can't see us, keep going. Do not turn back, no matter what. We are tethered to you, and will catch up with you as quickly as we can."

Shinsou reached out for Midoriya, brushing his fingers over his contractor's forearm while murmuring soothingly, "As you have given us our own bodies, we are not as restricted as Amajiki's plethora. Our tethers are much longer, so regardless of the distance between us we will find you again should we become separated. What's most important now is that the three of you stay together." His eyes shifted to Amajiki and Rodi before returning to Midoriya once again. "Protect one another. Avoid any altercations with unbound at all costs. Fight only if you absolutely must to survive."

"How will I know if you're all safe?" Midoriya asked, clinging to Shinsou's wrist, his brow arched with concern. "When you fought the chaos before in the city, we were only a few miles away. How much distance can span between us before your tether grows strained?"

"With our reserves at full capacity, the distance is potentially limitless. As our energies start to drain, we will need to pull from your reserves, and therefore will need to draw closer to you as a resource. However-" He looked around the cavern, gesturing as he spoke, "This location allows us to draw from the hotspot while engaged in battle. We will try to keep them here for as long as we possibly can, but I will readily admit it's a double-edged sword." He frowned slightly, revealing a hint of sharp fangs. "While our powers will not be drained, neither will the chaos' nor his keihai's. If they prove to be too much for us to handle, we will have to flee from this place as well."

"Could you warp us?" Midoriya asked worriedly, his grip on Shinsou tightening. "Should we warp again instead of trying to run?"

"We have to at least attempt to win this fight." Shinsou said softly, squeezing Midoriya's arm. "The longer we wait to face them, the more potential they have to grow in power. Now that you have shared your soul with others in your plethora, I truly believe we stand a real chance. We should use this opportunity to our advantage, and fight."

Midoriya was quiet for a long moment, holding Shinsou's eyes, then nodded. "Okay. I understand. We'll find somewhere safe to wait for you."

Shinsou nodded, and as he pulled away webbing fanned between Midoriya's fingers and branched away from his arms, the human donning Shinsou's wings while stepping closer to Usagi's side.

She motioned for the humans beside her to huddle close, then with one mighty leap she rocketed towards the ceiling, punching through to the surface with a roaring shout.
