Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Swamp Reaper. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own WATHK, Nippon Ichi Software and Sony do.
(Medea.)
Metallia looked at Amicus who looked out at the bubbling much which was the very swamp around him.
"If another witch was to fight you in the swamp?" Amicus questioned as he hummed and raised his scythe. "Who do you think would win? Your pretty strong, I don't see why you need servants." Amicus said as the swamp witch joined him.
"Dumbass, I can't leave the swamp itself." Metallia stated to which Amicus rolled his eyes. "Why do you care so much? You will be released on my death. Then you can go back." Metallia added as Amicus hummed and shrugged.
"Your assuming back home is much better." Amicus said, ignoring the jab Metallia made at him. "It… Is a very dark and ominous place, one of chaos and anarchy. You'd be hard pressed to find a place less devoid of destruction and hellish battle." Amicus said and rested his head upon his hand.
"Aren't you their damn king?" Metallia asked as Amicus nodded. "Then just force them to back down. You had so much power." Metallia added which was greeted by a sigh.
"Power isn't everything, Metallia." Amicus said, brushing off his clothing. "My brother kept me company among that circus trope of animals and misfits. If you actually managed to summon my army? I'd be telling you how to manage them for 5 minutes." Amicus added, leaning on his scythe as he swung back and forth upon the weapon.
Metallia was silent, she knew full well that things would be impossible the more her power grew. The stronger you were? The more enemies you attracted. The more people would wish to take you down when it comes down to it.
"Your well aware the other witches will be STRONGER than her, yes?" Amicus questioned, tapping the weapon on the ground. "The more people we end up crossing blades with? The stronger the enemy. Your own servant seemed to want to kill you." Amicus added as Metallia leaned down upon the boards.
She swung her feet over the bubbly liquid under her feet. Amicus leaned against the wall of her house.
"And YOU don't want to kill me?" Metallia questioned which got a chuckle from him as he turned to her.
"If I wanted to kill someone?" Amicus said, laying his scythe across. "I'd do it by my own hand, Metallia. You tricked me, that takes guts. I'll honor our deal even without the contract… It's rare I've met a strong witch who's willing to bargain with a king of demons. Specially one who can easily cut you to ribbons if he wanted to." Amicus stated as he turned to the side.
"Heh, it almost sounds like you have a crush." Metallia said playfully which got Amicus to hum.
"I don't have feelings the same way you do." Amicus pointed out, pointing a finger at her. "But I'll help…. If only you agree not to treat me like I'm a pet. I'm a servant, not a lapdog, I don't take licking boots. Your aware if we don't help you? There is NOTHING you can do to leave the swamp." Amicus stated as he crossed his arms.
Metallia stayed silent, curious as to what would come next. She couldn't predict the future. Nor could she believe what she saw in the future. There was only so much she could do to ensure her future.
"And what happens when the contract runs out?" Metallia asked which got him to hum. "You going to save me when I die?" Metallia asked as Amicus hummed and shrugged with interest.
"Take it when you get there and worry about these things then." Amicus added while leaning back against the wall. "There's going to be FAR worse things when it comes down to it…. In fact? I believe…" Amicus started to say before a sound slowly drowned him out.
The sound of speaking. Both the witch and her servant perked up as they heard something in the distance. They shared a look as he slowly climbed to his feet.
"Who the hell is crazy enough to come here?" Amicus questioned as he hummed and looked to the side.
"Their pretty damn insane to try it." Metallia stated before turning to Amicus. "Sniff it out. I'll show up with some of those witch soldiers." Metallia responded and cracked a smile.
"Aren't you in charge of this entire swamp?" Amicus asked while Metallia hummed.
"Yeah, and that means you have to do what I say." Metallia added which got a hum from Amicus.
"If you're allow me? I'll give you an army… But only if you tell me how you're so powerful." Amicus added before teleporting away.
Metallia hummed and went to go begin creating her army to conquer the rest of the world. She still questioned how Amicus was so ok with being led by someone else.
