Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Swamp Reaper. Enjoy the 1500-word chapter. I don't own WATHK, Nippon Ichi Software and Sony do.
(Medea.)
Viscole continued to look at Amicus as the reaper like figure spun his scythe, risking a glance over his shoulder towards the woman anytime he thought she wasn't looking. She was smart, he could tell that much… But she was also naïve, very naïve to think that this place wasn't dangerous to a woman like her.
"I said make a mistake and your die…" Amicus said with venom coating his very words as he looked at her with nothing but amusement. "And don't even think about running away, the monsters here haven't eaten in days." Amicus said as he pointed at them with his scythe.
He was well aware Metallia barely seemed to have monsters in the place. If it was that dangerous? She would have already conquered the rest of the planet.
'She's strong enough to control a lot more then I believe, though… So obviously she's more powerful than I give her credit for.' Amicus thought as he sighed while cracking his fingers.
"We are only here for the forest witch, your master." Viscole stated as she looked at him with him rolling his eyes.
'The woman was dead a few days ago. You came here for someone is dead. That is amusing. I wonder what will happen next when she figures out the truth.' Amicus thought to himself as he shook his head.
"Our master has no reason to not want us to kill you." Amicus said with the Hundred Knight perched atop his shoulder. "I have told you that several times and you are aware your inquisitors…. There's not really any reason to trust you at the end of the day." Amicus said as he cracked his neck.
Viscole was silent for a few seconds. Would the witch here kill her? Both of her servants seemed to want her dead. She didn't think they'd kill her with much reason.
"Don't make me kill you, inquisitor." Amicus said while he shook his head with interest towards her. "And if you're continuing to ponder it? Yes, she does want you alive. I'm aware of what you think." Amicus added as he spun the scythe through his fingers.
They continued to pass through the swamp. Amicus looked at Metallia who stared at them through the walls of her hut. Amicus could see her needle toothed smirk which caused him to chuckle. She had to know what this meant.
"Stay here with him while I get our master." Amicus stated before he started to think as he continued forward.
He watched his brother slowly start to think about him. He was quite curious about Metallia. The woman was going to have answers once again.
"This is ridiculous today." Amicus said while he opened the door. "Do you have anything to say, Metallia? The damn woman was curious about Malila. It's quite amusing… I don't know what is going to happen next." Amicus stated to Metallia.
Amicus watched Metallia hum. He placed his scythe against his shoulders. Both looked out the window with confusion towards the princess. He tapped his scythe on the ground, turning Metallia to look at him.
"I don't know who she is, but she's dangerous… Her guards aren't exactly." Amicus said while rubbing at his eyes a moment later. "It is quite interesting, but I sense another pillar in this area." Amicus stated as he cracked his fingers.
"And?" Metallia asked as Amicus shrugged. "Go find it, let me talk to the… Did you say Malila?!" Metallia screeched which got a nod.
"Yes, mistress…" Amicus said while he slowly started to leave once more.
"No, stay." Metallia said, bringing a hand to her temples as she thought about the next move. "Sides, the damn pillar is somewhere in the swamp. I can go find it with you and make sure everything is done with at the moment." Metallia added to which Amicus said nothing.
He knew very well she was going to point out how she wasn't Malila. Amicus said nothing, looking at the Princess as he clicked his fingers together.
"We need to talk after this." Amicus stated, crossing his arms as he rested his scythe on his shoulder and looked and looked around. "Secondly? How the hell did anyone find your swamp if there's supposed to be magic keeping it safe." Amicus added, pausing to rub at his temples as Metallia hummed to herself.
The idea tugged at her just as much. She had put a lot into keeping people off her turf, now it seemed that she had to make sure her territory was secure as so not to have further distractions on her hand. Still? It gave her pause if things were such that she could only fathom what the issue was.
"They're not dangerous at all to you, are they?" Amicus questioned, looking through the windows upon the woman and her group. "I question why you need servants if your so damn powerful." Amicus added, pausing to plant his scythe into the ground once more.
"Your king of the damn underworld and you have servants." Metallia responded to which wasn't an untrue sentiment, he believed.
"Yes, I had soldiers to do my bidding while I sat and pondered how to conquer other realms." Amicus muttered, noticing the smirk adoring his master's face. "You know eventually I will regain my power and my army will arrive. I've lived here before; the details are just too fuzzy for me." Amicus added, rubbing at his temples.
Metallia blinked in confusion. Amicus had lived on Medea? She was confused more than anything, but it brought further questions to her mind, such interesting ones. There was no history in the books about Amicus on Medea, not ones she knew easily of.
Before Metallia could ask her servant of this? Viscole spoke up, bringing the duo's attention to her as Amicus turned, his eyes blazing with manna as he waited for her commands.
"Do we kill her? It could start a war." Amicus stated, knowing very well how valuable a princess was to the wrong people. "I am curious as to why she's here like this. There's so much I'm still trying to do with my magic, I sense something in the swamp alongside the pillar." Amicus added, catching the swamp reaper's attention.
"No, I want to know why they're here to see her." Metallia stated before eyeing Alicino. "If you even think of poisoning me again? I'll rip your head off and punt into the swamp then make Amicus throw it into the sky." Metallia growled, her magic dancing around her fingertips.
'This woman is impressive, perhaps I could serve her for a while, it would…. WHAT SPELL CORRUPTS MY MIND!?' Amicus hissed, trying to hide an infusion of mana to his cheeks.
His new feelings confused the king, they were unnatural, far more than he was. However? He did not hate them, and yet that disturbed him on some level. He was meant to be feared, to be treated as a warrior beyond both understanding, and monstrous control.
'Then again? If Metallia was able to control me? She's far more powerful, no witch has the amount of power I sense from her. she's good, I can only ponder who tutored her in such ways.' Amicus thought as his sibling and Viscole entered.
Metallia leaned on the wall as Amicus hung his scythe across his back, looking at the woman with both interest and caution. Viscole was dangerous, and even if he did not yet know of his own feelings towards her? Amicus refused to allow her to harm Metallia.
"You are Great Witch Mallia?" Viscole questioned, causing the duo to share a slight nod as both looked back and forth.
"Yep, now what are you doing in my home?" Metallia questioned, resting on her broomstick as she did so. "I should have my servants turn you into mush and throw you into the swamp." Metallia added, her fang like teeth exposed as she did so.
Amicus said nothing, but he enjoyed the trick. It was clear Metallia enjoyed this as much as he did, but it was simply another trick for him to ponder over at this time. He looked around the extravagant, if tiny cabin. This place was just right for a swamp witch considering how little there was to have done here. Amicus was quite curious what Metallia was preparing to do, she had a plan, she almost ALWAYS seemed to have a plan when he thought about it.
"I'm staying here for now; my brother will assist you with whatever you wish to require." Amicus stated, shrugging as he did so.
