Two and a half months passed on, and Po's life had changed for the better. His body slowly grew firm and trim, something Jessica still grumbled about, but as long as his butt and belly were still there, she didn't mind much. Po did see one change that he wasn't prepared to see. He had more energy. Lots of it. "How do I get rid of this?!"
Chuckling, Tai-Lung sipped his tea at the deli. "Why would you want to get rid of more energy? Most people want to have it."
"Because it's like me being horny all the time and not having anywhere to release! And I am not going back to watching porn and jerking off," Po huffed in his seat. "I've tried everything. Exercising until I break, drawing, but it just feels like I'm in a-"
"Rush?"
"Yeah!"
"Hmm, then you need to learn how to be still," The snow leopard tapped his finger on the table. "Try some meditation or mindfulness. That helped me sit still for a while. Maybe even do some running when it feels too much. Or you can always try the alternative."
"Which is?" Po asked.
"Release?"
"Where?" Tai-Lung smirked and motioned his head over to the pretty feline waitress across from them. "WHAT! No, no. I just started talking to her. It's waaaaayyy too soon to make a move."
"If not now, then when? And besides, aren't you trying to find a way OUT of the energy problem? A good scare always helped me." With that, the wise snow leopard left, leaving his usual tip on the table. Po sighed as he waited for Song.
"Was the food good, Po?" She asked.
"Yes, thank you, Song." Po sighed heavily.
"Is something wrong?"
"Uh..." It was now or never. "Uh... Song, I was wondering um... when do you get off work?" Song's eyes popped open. The tray in her hand tipped over, but Po caught it.
"Oh! I'm so so sorry."
"It's okay," Po nervously laughed. "Definitely not the reaction I thought I'd get."
"I just... didn't think you would ask so... soon."
Po tilted his head. "So... you knew I was gonna ask?"
"Well, no. I was just... hoping," Song bashfully looked at the floor. "Sorry, I'm making this awkward."
"Hehe, it's okay. Time for someone else to do it for a change." Po laughed, making her chuckle. They shared a moment of silence. "Sooooo."
"Uh... 2. I get off at two today."
"Great! Uh, you want to get some dinner? At a different deli," Po joked.
Song giggled, "Of course, where did you have in mind?"
"How fancy do you want?"
"Not too much."
"Hawaiian food it is," Po smiled. Song chuckled and gave him her number and address. "I'll pick you up at three?"
"Sure!" Song smiled widely. "Thank you, Po."
"You're welcome... but for what?"
"Asking me out. I was... beginning to think you didn't think I was attractive or-."
"Hehe," Po rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, I'm just... shy but I'm getting better at putting myself out there."
"Mm, I can see," Song tittered. "I'll see you then."
"See you," Po said with a goofy smile. The snow leopard went back to work while Po walked out. "YESS!" he shouted at the top of his lungs.
Back at the apartment, Po threw on a light blue t-shirt, rolling up his sleeves. His cream-colored jeans fit him perfectly as he walked to the door in his black tennis shoes. He took a picture and sent it to Song asking if it was okay. When he got the approval, Po smiled and headed to the door, just to have Jessica walk in.
The two stared at each other. Jessica was wearing a business pencil skirt with a dark formal jacket and a puffy white blouse. Po looked at his watch: 2:45 pm. His face scrunched up as he blinked several times. Jessica rested her hands on her hips and scanned the panda's outfit, tilting her head a bit.
"What are you doing?" they asked each other.
"I just came from a business meeting."
"You actually go to those?" Po asked, incredulously.
Jessica rolled her eyes. "I'm still the manager, Po."
"Who has sex with all of her workers."
"Hey, if bitches look good, let them know," Jessica shrugged. "Now, where are you going?"
"I'm...uh... going out."
"Where?"
"Out...side?"
"Outside where?"
"Where there's... outty...ness?
"Po, you know you're not a good liar so you might as well just tell me," Jessica said. Her smirk widened. "Plus, I have other ways of making you talk."
"Nope! Not the puppy face," Po sighed, "Alright, I'm... going on a date."
"WHAT!?" Jessica's jaw dropped and split into a wide smile, slapping Po's ass. "Alright, dude! Who's the chick you're gonna bang?"
"Her name is Song, and sex isn't on the table," Po grumbled, rubbing his bum. "I'm just trying to do a normal date. Nothing too crazy or anything."
"Mmmm, don't be surprised if she rips off your clothes and starts sucking your dick." Po rolled his eyes. "What made you finally ask her out?"
"I... kinda just did. I just decided to stop being afraid and go for it."
Jessica smiled and kissed Po's cheek. "I knew you had it in you."
"Yeaaaaahhh and I kinda...Tai-Lung talked me into it."
Jessica's smile disappeared. "Why do you listen to the jerk that bullied you? I had to smash his balls with a hammer, remember?"
"Bat. You did it was a bat. Trust me, both he and I distinctly remember."
"Why would you-"
"He's much much better now. Kinder. In fact, he helped me get out of my funk and stuff. Besides, it seems like he's a much better person." Jessica only crossed her arms. "Ugh, he's not bullying me anymore, okay? Doesn't that count for something?"
"Hmm. I guess," Jessica grumbled.
"Anyway, I need to go. I don't want to be late. Yipe!" Po jumped after Jessica slapped his butt again.
"Go get them, big boy," She giggled. Blushing brightly, the panda walked out and headed for Song's place.
As he walked up the stairs, Po dusted his clothes before knocking on the door. The constant fiddling with his buttons made him more on edge. He finally stopped. The door opened up to a tight jeans-wearing snow leopard with a bright blue blouse. It had a large V in the back, displacing her gently modeled back. Po forgot he was staring for a moment.
"Po?"
"OH! Sorry I just wasn't expecting you to go all out."
"Oh," Song blushed a bit. "This is nothing, really."
"It... you look beautiful."
Song smiled, "Thank you, Po."
"Shall we go?" He offered his arm. Giggling, the snow leopard took his arm and followed him to the car.
The two had a wonderful time. The food was great, Po's jokes made her laugh, and all around, the panda enjoyed himself. Eating food turned into arcades, arcades turned into movies, movies turned into conversations. Song was nice, easy to talk with, and just seemed all-around... great. Po's doubts still swarmed around, but he did a very weird thing on the date that he thought he never would.
He told the truth.
Whenever he was nervous or didn't really believe that Song was interested in him, he told her. The broken record might have gotten annoying to other people, but Song didn't seem to tire of telling him for some reason. "You're overthinking it, Po," Song chuckled as they got back to her house. "Girls and guys tend to be naturally picky. So you can do everything right and still get bad luck. Just be yourself."
"Ha! I'm still trying to figure that out," Po laughed. Song smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
"It'll come. Trust me. It does." They finally got to her door. "Well, here I am."
"I hope you enjoyed yourself."
"I did. I really had a great time, Po. Thank you."
"Of course," Po smiled, shoving his hands into his pockets. "I hope you have a good night." The panda turned to leave only to be stopped.
"Um... it... it's still early, you know. Could you come in and have a drink? I mean, would you... like to come in for a drink."
Po's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. "Sure, sure." Song giggled and opened her door. Po walked inside and sat on her comfy couch. The snow leopard made some drinks inside the kitchenette behind him. "By the way, why did you get off work so early?"
"Oh!" She said as she sat down and handed his drink over "Uh... today is my last day working at the deli."
"WHAT?!" Po nearly dropped his drink. "Whoa! Where are you going to go?"
"The job was just temporary. I'm going into research."
"Wow. That's great!" Po exclaimed. "Awww but that means I have to train someone else to get my hot chocolate with the little sprinkles."
"Hehe, I did that just to be nice. And... because you're cute."
"Oh, heh," Po exhaled a nervous laugh. "Well, you're very beautiful."
"Thanks, Po." The panda smiled and sipped his drink to the bottom. "So... um... I was wondering. What do you... want to do tonight?"
Po narrowed his eyes and tilted his head. There was something hidden that he wasn't picking up on. So he just became honest. "Uh... Song, if you're trying to tell me something, I'm pretty clueless and-" Suddenly, Song shuffled across the sofa and kissed him. Her left hand rested on his chest while the other firmly gripped his jeans. Song pulled away; her eyes hazy and half-lidded, her mouth stood slightly ajar with a small string of saliva connecting them, and her heart raced in her ears. Po blinked several times, trying to catch his own breath. The sudden rush of her seductive coffee scent invaded his nose and cleared his mind of distractions. "Oh," Po gulped.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be so forward, I just-"
"No, no, no I just..." Po gently grumbled. "I just didn't want my sister to be right about having sex tonight."
"Older sister?" Po nodded. Song smirked. "Well, big sis is always right."
"Yeah, yeah," Po grumbled. His eyes jumped open again when Song's lips returned to his mouth. Po slowly closed his eyes. His shaky hands slowly wrapped around her plumpish hips. Her ass was cupped perfectly in his hands. She gasped. Po attacked her neck with light kisses, sending jitters down her spine.
"Mmmm! Po," the snow leopard mewled. Her claws lightly scratched Po's shirt. "My bedroom?" She panted. Po nodded and followed the snow leopard to her quaint room.

"Of course," Song purred happily onto Po's chest.
"So... What does this mean?"
"Well, I was hoping we could... still be friends."
Po frowned a bit, but Song couldn't see it. "Sure, friends."
"Is that okay? I just... I don't feel like I'm really ready for more right now. It's not you, It's-"
"Song, you're talking too much," Po laughed. "Take it from a guy that talks too much."
"I didn't want to hurt you."
"Nah. It's okay."
"I just... this was amazing and wonderful, but... I just need some time to find myself."
"OOookay? What do you mean?"
Song sighed sadly. "It's complicated."
"Life usually is."
"Hm... friends?"
"Friends," Po smiled, though his heart felt like it was strained but not torn.
