Momo Yaoyorozu POV

The beginning of her hero career wasn't what Momo Yaoyorozu had been expecting.

Making it through the recommended exam, placing top in Aizawa-sensei's test, she'd gone into her first day of hero training on Tuesday riding high. After watching three groups undertake the exercise, she thought she had a sure fire strategy. Boy had she ever been proved wrong.

Losing stung, losing to the class pervert and resident goth kid somehow stung worse. Hearing Tokoyami's explanation afterwards, and the credit he gave to Midoriya, had her watching the next match closely. She had been interested in Midoriya because of the suppressants he was apparently on, and his newly uncovered tactical prowess increased that interest.

So watching him hold off what she had thought was the class's strongest student in Todoroki, with his strength as hampered as it was, was mind blowing. It also made her take a look at herself, and what she could really do in a fight. Because all she'd managed to do in her own match was scout a bit, and wasn't it good to know that Dark Shadow, Tokoyami's sentient quirk, didn't appear in thermal vision, and tag the pervert with a lucky shot after he had her running in a circle for half the exercise.

And then the next day she had been elected class representative with Midoriya himself as her vice, and she really didn't feel like she had earned the position. Not compared to the others who had overcome in their trials and come out on top. Even if she fell to the strategy All Might congratulated the most, saying it was very much like villains to hide while their comrades were sacrificed to the heroes in an attempt to land a debilitating blow.

Wednesday was better, class 1-B had heroics class with All Might and they were with Aizawa for Hero Ethics, and in academia Momo truly shined, although Aizawa stopped accepting answers from her after it became clear she was more than familiar with the legal processes and situational options for heroes in various situations. The only interesting thing that really happened that day had been the press mob invading the premises, but the teachers quickly took care of that and sent them back on their way.

And now that it was Thursday, it was their turn for heroics class again, and Momo had sworn to herself she was going to prove, to herself and her classmates, that she deserved her spot, both as class representative and as a recommended student.

Aizawa's announcement of rescue training had her running through potential disaster situations they might be presented all the way until Iida and she led the class onto the bus, with Midoriya bringing up the rear in his slow gait. The scattered chit-chat during the bus ride was cut through when Asui spoke up, her voice flat, but somehow cutting through the noise of the bus and drawing everyone's attention to her.

"Midoriya, I say what's on my mind. What exactly about your quirk makes it dangerous?" The unspoken 'what did you do to get on the government's shit list' was picked up on by most of the class, who's attention was turned to Midoriya.

"My quirk is a transfoooooooooormation mutation." Midoriya started slowly, sitting up slightly in his seat next to Tokoyami. "My body has the capacityyyyyyyyyyyyy to transform on specific physical cuuuuuuuuuuuuues, my heartbeeeeeeeeeat specifically. But I lost controooooooooooooooool when I was younger. The suppressants aren't noooooooooormal, they physically prevent meeeeeeeee from triggering the activation of my quirk."

"That sounds…..dangerous." Momo chimed in, her eyes scanning Midoriya carefully, heart affecting drugs were notoriously dangerous, and one meant to forcibly slow the heart would place significant strain on the organ. Midoriya however only shrugged.

"I'm tougher than mooooooooost."

"How do you even use your quirk then?" Kaminaro piped up from across from Asui, dramatically leaning forward to hear Midoriya's answer, hand absently fiddling with the single earpiece over his left ear.

"Willpower." It was a simple answer, but the surety in his voice told the entire story. "I'm limiteeeed in how much I can uuuuuuuse, no full transformation and going full poooooooooooower in only one limb knocks me out after, but it got me into UA." Midoriya explained, his hand twitching slightly towards one of the pouches on his extremely baggy pants.

Hearing this Kinney scoffed from her seat next to Tsunotori, who she had been talking to in English for the majority of the ride. "Still more power than most." Was what she added in her accented Japanese, getting nods of agreement from most of the class.

"Well medicine aside, you've got a killer quirk Midoriya, all I can do is harden my skin." Kirishima spoke up from the back of the bus, raising his arm and demonstrating. While the rest of the class talked about how their quirks applied to heroics, Momo noticed the distinctly uncomfortable look that had appeared on Midoriya's face at Kirishima's words. Tokoyami beside him nudged him lightly and the look was gone, but Momo had seen it, and she was fairly sure Kinney had as well.

Perhaps Kirishima had been uncomfortably close when he called Midoriya's quirk killer….

Her train of thought was quickly cut off however as the bus arrived at their destination and she and Iida once again led the class off the bus, with Midoriya and Tokoyami bringing up the rear once again, both hanging back and slightly away from the rest of the class.

"Welcome students, to the USJ!" A bubbly female voice said from the front of the group, drawing Momo's attention away from her vice-class rep and onto the hero greeting them. "I am the Space Hero Thirteen, and this is my specialized training ground for rescue, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint!" Momo could hear several of her less mature classmates giggle at the unspoken joke about the other USJ they were familiar with.

Momo still gave the exterior of the building an awed look while Thirteen and Aizawa exchanged words briefly before leading them inside the training ground itself. The inside of the building was even more impressive than the exterior was, the sheer planning that must have gone into planning the facility impressed Momo as she examined the different areas.

The mountain and landslide zones were across from each other, but presented similar possibilities. The ruin zone was most similar to the city scapes they had been working in with All Might, with the added danger of most of the buildings looking like they were about to come down around their ears. The flood zone was directly to the right of the entrance, and consisted of a massive cruise liner sitting in an artificial lake. The final two zones were within covered domes, but the symbols hanging above the entrances made it clear what lay within. The storm and inferno zones Momo would guess were the hardest zones to maintain, and would most likely be the most difficult zones to traverse, she quickly recalled the formulas for a gas mask to prevent smoke inhalation and a fireproof suit before Thirteen began talking again.

"As I am sure most of you are aware, quirks can be extremely dangerous." Thirteen continued, holding up her hand and demonstrating her own quirk, flicking off one of the caps on her fingertips. "My quirk is called black hole, and is extremely dangerous if I don't make use of it responsibly. With Aizawa, you all learned the current limits of your quirks, and with All Might you learned how those quirks are applicable in combat scenarios, and here with me you take the next step, learning to use exactly the correct amount of force to safely save others in a variety of dangerous scenarios. You will also be instructed on the basics of first aid here, and everyone must work carrying medical supplies into their costume design." She explained, now recapping her finger and dispelling her quirk.

"Now to begin…."

Thirteen was cut off by an intense pressure that seemed to fill the entire building. The entire class, teachers and students, had their attention drawn to the expanding dark circle in the plaza below them at the heart of the USJ. Momo could see in her peripheral vision that more had appeared in the various disaster zones, but the biggest was in the plaza as a horde of figures began walking out of the black portal.

"Is this a part of training Aizawa-sensei?" Mineta asked, his voice trembling.

"No, these are actual villains." Aizawa responded, pushing his way to the front of the class and pulling the yellow goggles from around his neck over his eyes."Kaminari, can you contact the school on that thing?" he asked, gesturing to the headset that was a part of Kaminari's hero costume.

"Nothing is coming through, just static." The lightning boy responded, fiddling with the various controls on the side of his headpiece. "Something's blocking it."

"Thirteen, get them out of here, find some way to get word to the main campus. I'll hold them off until back-up arrives." Loosening the bandage like wraps around his neck, he paused for a moment and nodded to Midoriya, some unspoken message passed between the two before he leapt down into the plaza where real villains.

"Will sensei be alright?" Toru's worried voice came from beside Momo, her presence only marked by her voice and the pair of gloves that was her hero costume.

"Senpai will be fine." Thirteen assured the class as everyone turned to leave as Aizawa began laying a smackdown on the villains below. "While not his speciality, he's more than strong enough to handle a group of thugs in open combat."

Before they could reach the exit however, the black mist formed in front of the class, blocking them from reaching the entrance.

"Greeting, heroics students, I am Kurogiri of the League of Villains." A misty figure formed within the blackness, marked only by a pair of harsh yellow eyes near the top of the mass of shadows. "I must ask, where is All Might, our intel said he was supposed to be here, was there some change in schedule at the last minute?" Kurogiri's words were slightly distorted by his unstable form, but everyone understood him just fine. These villains were here to fight the number one hero, a hero that wasn't there at the moment.

Before Kurogiri could speak again, Kirishima and Kinney threw themselves at him, claws and hardened fists swinging through his misty body, which rippled and swayed back as they passed through him.

"Well well, how dangerous. But what else could I expect from the golden eggs of U.A." Kurogiri taunted, his sulfur yellow eyes tightening within the mist. "But I have a job to do if you have no information to share, disperse, and be killed!" Kurogiri's body flared outwards, hitting those closest to him, Kinney and Kirishima, first, and expanding outwards. Momo could barely make out Shoji tackling and covering a group of their classmates and Thirteen using her quirk to suck in the mist approaching her and those closest to her.

Unfortunately for Momo, she was part of neither group, and felt the ground fall away underneath her and the students closest to her. Barely holding in a scream, Momo landed roughly but was quick to jump to her feet and took in her surroundings.

Her, Midoriya, and Jiro had been transported from the safety of the main entrance with Thirteen, into the heights of the mountain zone. And they were completely surronded by villains, cracking their knuckles and walking towards them menacingly.

"We'll have to thank that misty guy later." One of them taunted, eyeing Momo and Jiro with eyes that made both girls shudder. "We'll be sure to take advantage of the gift he gave us." Momo quickly pulled a staff from her arm and brandished it at the large villain, whose quirk turned his hands into large lobster claws.

"Yaoyorozuuuuuuuuuuu, Jiro, I'll take point. Cover meeeeeee." Midoriya said in his slow drawl as he flexed his arms, which bulged slightly and greyed. The veins sticking out from his skin as if he was flexing.

"Kid thinks he's some kind of hero, HA! Let's show him what the real world is like boys!" The lobster handed leader yelled as he led the charge against the trio, and with that the fight was on.

To Momo, the fight seemed to fly by. Years of practice with her chosen weapon bearing fruit as she batted aside any villains that tried to approach her on Midoriya's right flank, while Jiro used her ear jacks and speaker boots to drive away those approaching from his left.

Midoriya himself took the brunt of the villains, starting with the lobster claw guy. He was like a machine and Momo could only shudder at the prospect of facing Midoriya herself now, much less at full power and unhindered.

His form was perfect, despite the drugs in his system, bobbing and weaving like a well trained boxer, tanking blows with his quirk enhanced arms without even flinching, and she had yet to see a villain get up after he sent them flying with a well placed blow. While his strength continued to impress, it was his form now that really stood out. Unlike when he faced Todoroki and spent the entire exercise blasting away waves of ice, now Midoriya was the picture of control, analysing and controlling the battle field with nothing but his bare hands and immense strength.

Even without speaking, Momo got the impression of a general fighting alongside his troops in the trenches, his footwork shifting to allow her and Jiro to get their shots in without hitting him, and him stepping forwards to keep himself as the center of attention. She would definitely be asking the boy how he trained later, because it was something she very much desired to replicate herself. Despite the difference in their quirks, the role he was taking in their first fight with villains was exactly the role Momo had always envisioned for herself. A role she was now seeing she had a lot of work to do if she ever wanted to be considered a leader amongst heroes.

It only took several minutes in real time, but it felt like hours before the trio dispatched the last of the villains, Izuku sending him flying with a solid left hook to the jaw.

After they took a minute to catch their breath and take in the sight of the field of knocked out criminals, Momo pulled several large rolls of capture tape from her stomach and wordlessly passed a roll to each of her classmates. The trio quickly set to work binding the heaps of villains, both to each other and individually, each processing the fight that had just happened separately as they bound the unconscious villains.

Momo could hardly stop her hands from shaking, sure this had been her goal for years, and she had been mentally and physically preparing herself for fighting villains, but all that preparation seemed to just fall away in the aftermath of what just happened.

She had fought, and potentially legitimately injured other human beings. Human beings that wished to harm, defile, and kill her if given half the opportunity. She wasn't new to being gazed at lecherously. Her father would drag her along to business meetings and galas ever since she hit puberty, and anyone who stared at her or made rude remarks, the older ones in particular, quickly found themselves on the outs with the Yaoyorozu Zaibatsu.

It was a rather cold method her father employed, but Momo had always bore it with the grace her mother had taught to her since she was a child. And it came in handy again today, allowing her to shrug off the comments of the villains until after they had all been defeated.

Similar to her, Jiro was twitching slightly as she worked, the nerves of actually being in a fight clearly affecting her the same they were her. Just one of those things only experience really solved, not something that could come naturally or be trained into a person.

Momo had to revise her thoughts almost instantly when she saw Midoriya unshaken and thoroughly wrapping the lobster clawed villain with particular care. His arms were shrunk back down to their normal parameters, which Momo was only now realizing was a fair bit more muscular than most of their class. His movements were slow and methodical, although whether that was an actual lack of nerves and just the suppressants Momo wasn't sure.

Either way, he was clearly taking this the best out of the three of them.

"Jiroooooooooo, can you use your quirk to see what is going on in the other zoooooooooones?" Midoriya asked as he finished with the last of the villains, leaving them taped back to back with their arms restrained.

"Yeah, I can do that." Jiro told him, exhaling deeply as she moved over to the edge of the mountain zone, leaving Momo alone with the green teen.

"While I am glad we succeeded, this was far sooner than I thought we'd be facing real villains." Momo told Midoriya, letting a small relieved smile onto her face for the first time since they entered the USJ.

"I'm not sure it's over."

Both the lack of slurring and words spoken shook Momo out of her thoughts.

"That Kurogiriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii guy said they were after All Might riiiight? They wouldn't pick a fight unless they thought they could wiiiiiiiiiiin."

"So they have a trick up their sleeve then?" Momo asked, her mind working overtime as she mentally beat herself up for missing that. If Midoriya, who was having his bodily processes forcefully slowed down, picked up on it, she had no excuse to miss it.

"Yeah, Jirooooooooo can tell us where needs the most help and then we can head there."

Before Momo could respond to him though, she felt a chill run up her spine. Every instinct in her was screaming to move, but her mind didn't work as fast as her body, she froze up for a split second and that was all the time the villain who had been hiding in the ground beneath them needed to phase upwards and grab Momo by the back of her neck, freezing her in place before she could even break her initial panic.

"You damn kids really are the cream of the crop. I thought the boss was going overkill when the two of us got sent, but I guess he was right."

The villain wore a large skull shaped mask covering his features, and a black padded sleeveless shirt over olive green cargo pants. He looked like an ordinary street thug, but the danger in the air had spiked since he had appeared. Momo could see Midoriya's mind flying through thoughts as she remained frozen with the villain's grip on the back of her neck.

"Not another step greeny, or big tits here gets some shock therapy." The villain taunted, holding up the hand that wasn't holding onto Momo and displaying a crackle of electricity. Electrolysis was an exceptionally powerful quirk, and one in high demand. That the villain had enough control to phase shift meant he was of a much higher class than the other they had just defeated.

Midoriya paused in his steps and eyes the villain again, raising his hands in surrender. "Your buddy going after meeeeeee now?"

"Ha, nah, he's off having fun with some of your classmates, although I doubt he'll find any sort of challenge. Your classmates on the other hand, might end up with a few fewer limbs." The nasty laugh the man gave off sent chills through Momo again, but it finally got her thinking again rather than blindly panicking. Her quirk meant she was prepared for any situation, that meant she already had the answer available to her, she needed to find out what it was.

"Soooooooooooooo how are you guys gonna do it? Beat All Might thaaaaaaaaaaat is?" Midoriya asked, hands still raised, his eyes flicking between Momo and the villain rapidly.

"Boss man sent along a little monster to take on the big guy, built to counter All Might's strength. And you little heroes might not have heard, but All Might's been weakening. The second the big guy shows up, that'll be lights out for him."

Momo heard what he said, but was far too deep in her own thoughts to process them at the moment. She needed to get the villain's hand OFF her, otherwise she was done for with a simple flex of his quirk. Midoriya wouldn't and couldn't hit him while he had her and could go intangible. But that tangibility was limited. He was electricity, and he'd lose that is he became grounded.

So she needed metal to keep him in place and keep him from dodging, and she needed something to protect herself. An insulator. Rubber worked best, but she needed something more, and wood would combust and plastic would melt. That left glass, or better yet, rubber and glass working together.

So she needed to ground the villain to keep him from escaping, and she needed to armor herself against any retaliatory action.

And she needed to do it all at the same time. And she needed Midoriya ready to capitalize when she gave him the chance.

A tall order, but doable. Using her eyes, Momo looked carefully at Midoriya while she got to work using her quirk under her skin. A metal bar to shoot out of her leg and into the villains and the round behind him, and a glass and rubber armor to cover her.

At least she still had enough lipids to cover most of her body, if she had been forced to use more than just her staff in the fight before she might not have enough for her plan. One last look at Midoriya who was still in a standoff with the villain, hoping her eyes conveyed the message she wanted, Momo acted.

The iron spike shot out of her calf at speeds she didn't realize her quirk could reach, spearing through the flesh and into the ground below. At the same time, a thick piece of red rubber wrapped glass grew from her neck exactly where the villain had grabbed her, and around the entirety of her head and chest. She could take a little electricity, but it would be much worse if it hit her center mass. The destruction of the entire upper half of her uniform was an unfortunate side effect, but necessary in this case.

The villain let out a cry of pain as he tried to retaliate, but with the spike through his leg, he could only channel a fraction of the power he might otherwise be able to, and certainly not enough to phase away. He only managed a few small bolts that knocked Momo further away from him, but Midoriya was on top of him in an instant, legs moving inhumanely fast and greyed fist cocked back, plowing into his mask in a vicious blow.

The villain crumbled like a puppet with the strings cut, skull mask cracked in half and metal spike still through his leg.

There was a moment of silence before Momo felt her legs give out from under herself, and she pried the glass helmet from her head, leaving the chest piece in place to preserve her dignity as she took several deep rasping breaths. Forget the fight before, that was the absolute most nerve wracking situation she'd even been in. It was only because the villain wanted a hostage that she was still alive. Anyone with enough control and power to phase using electricity had more than enough power to kill her.

And what made it worse, was that she had now fallen for the same tactic twice. Before in hero training, and again here. That hit her harder than actually being captured had.

"Yaoyorozuuuuuuuuuuuu, can you make a rubber capture taaaaaaaaaaape?" Midoriya's drawl shook her out of her shock and she wordlessly made the requested item as she continued to process what had just happened.

That was the scene Jiro returned to from the edge of the zone, but quickly brushed off Midoriya's explanation for her own explanation.

"That mist guy split us up over all the ones, but the only one having trouble sounded like the ruin zone, but that was Kinney so I'm not too worried." Both Midoriya and Momo nodded, but Momo could hear the slight fear in her voice, the other shoe was about to drop.

"Aizawa-sensei is having trouble." Jiro's words stunned Momo, but she could see Midoriya nodding to himself. "He handled the thugs easy enough, but he was struggling with what sounded like the leader and there was something big with them that hadn't moved yet."

"The monster." Momo heard Midoriya mutter to himself, his hand reaching down to one of the pockets on his utility belt.

"So what do we do?" Jiro asked the two, and Momo found herself stumped. Despite being admittedly one of the smartest people in their class, she had no idea. They were students, what could they possibly do to stop something meant to beat, meant to kill All Might.

"Yaoyorozu, can you make an adrenaline shooooooooot?" Midoriya asked her, reaching into his belt and pulling out a secured vial of a black liquid.

"Why would you need…." Momo trailed off as it came to her. The suppressants he was on kept his heart rate slow, an adrenaline shot would fight that and speed it up. But the strain it would put on his body…..

"My body resists tooooxins very well, so my drug sits in my stooooooomach for hours to be effective." Midoriya explained, holding up the vial again. "This'll make meeeeeeeeeee vomit up what is left, and the adrenaline will kickstaaaaaaaart me to go all out."

"Is this really safe Midoriya, both for yourself and the rest of us. Can you control your quirk after not using it for so many years?" Momo asked, already making the shot in her off hand as she rose to her feet. She knew Midoriya wouldn't offer the idea unless it really was the best option available.

"Control, we'll seeeeeeeeeeeee. Point at the monster, nooooooooooo problem." Midoriya said and downed the vial with a single gulp, the look on his face twisting in disgust as he quickly ran off to the side and emptied his stomach of its contents, suppressing drugs included.

"Do you trust me Yaoyorozuuuuuuuuu?" Midoriya asked her once he had finished, wiping the back of his hand against his mouth.

"I will, but don't make me regret this." Momo told him and handed over the shot. Midoriya nodded and led the trio to the edge of the mountain zone, letting them overlook the plaza below.

The scene was grim as they saw Aizawa-sensei pinned under a large black mass of muscle and a villain covered in hands charging at Asui, Mineta, and a dopey looking Kaminari that were exiting the flood zone.

With a grunt of determination, Momo watched Midoriya slam the shot into his chest right over his heart, and hunch over for a moment before ALL of his skin began to ripple and expand. Suddenly the baggy pants made much more sense as the previously skin tight no sleeve shirt ripped away and the pants fit his new form perfectly. The shoes as well were discarded as Midoriya's feet grew far beyond their capacity. His previously fluffy green hair lengthened and darkened, the green now only visible when the spotlights above hit it.

When Midoriya finished growing, he was a little over seven tall, his skin no longer the grey that it took when he was infusing his body with his quirk, but rather a pale olive-green. His whole body was muscled, much more than Momo expected. Even though she could only see his back, she could see more muscles than most bodybuilders would have.

"RAAAHHHHHHHHH"

The roar Midoriya gave off shook Momo to her bones, Jiro beside her clutched her ears at the noise. Momo might have been having a few off days when it came to figuring things out, but she recognized Midoriya's quirk immediately as her now completely green classmate leapt off the mountain and down towards the plaza below.

The Hulk was considered one of the few strong enough to match All Might in terms of strength, and if Midoriya was connected to him, then Momo suddenly was a lot more hopeful about their chances. And a touch terrified of her classmate at the same time.

Because as famous as he was for his strength, the Hulk was equally infamous for his lack of control.

Guess who's back, back again, Skaar is back, back to SMASH!

Yup, the long awaited return of Skaar, the end of Izuku's enforced drugging, and going to be the return of Izuku's POV starting next chapter. This exact scene, Momo giving Izuku what he needed to finally go Skaar again at USJ was one of the scenes that first inspired me to write this story, and it's so exciting to finally get here. I went overboard with the fight I think, but it was so worth it.

There are also a fair few easter eggs dropped in this chapter. Four if I didn't miss any, so we'll see who picks up on them. Some are obvious, but others are rather discreet. But we'll see who picks up on what, or if I even want to continue all the threads, but I think I will.

Next chapter will be either next week if I blitz through it in excitement, or after a few weeks of Trickster and Gamer because I'm trying to make it perfect and fulfilling for those who really want to see Skaar cutting loose and going wild. And he will, he very much will.

So yeah, Hope everyone is doing well and please leave reviews if you have questions or comments that aren't blatantly attacking my writing because you have a different opinion.

Happy Reading -Centurion Africanus
