You're Both Yo-Yo's
Disclaimer: Not mine, but Dick's
A/N: Okay…I have
to try to type this without giggling myself off of my stool again.
Thanks to The Confused One for the idea. Enjoy! PS - The yo-yo's quote is from "Aqua Teen Hunger Force".
The four best detectives of the Major Case Squad were trapped on the eleventh floor of One Police Plaza due to yet another one of New York State's infamous snowstorms. Carolyn Barek looked at her watch – one thirty in the morning. She leaned back in her chair and looked around for the other three detectives. Mike was playing solitaire in the conference room, while Alex was on her fourth cup of coffee and deeply engrossed in her novel. Bobby walked in, pushing a wheelchair in front of him. Carolyn looked at him like he was out of his mind.
"Bobby, what's…is one of us injured and we don't know about it?" Carolyn stood up and stretched, walking over to him.
Bobby put up the footrests on the wheelchair and settled in. His long legs went well past the footrests. "Well…I thought it was a good idea. For once, I'd like to get some sleep."
Alex looked up from her book to assess the situation. "Where'd you find a wheelchair?" She also got up and walked over towards Bobby.
"Uh, there's another one in the hallway down by the bathrooms," Bobby answered. Alex nodded and went out into the hallway in the direction of the restrooms. Bobby turned to Carolyn and smiled. "Want to give me a push over to my desk, please?" Carolyn rolled her eyes at him and pushed him out into the middle of the pen. "Thanks. You're a helper," Bobby said sarcastically. There was a racket in the hallway and then Alex appeared in the doorway…in the other wheelchair.
She eyeballed Bobby. "I'm gonna git you, sucka!" She reared back in the wheelchair and rolled herself as fast as she could over to Bobby, crashing into him. Bobby's wheelchair flipped over, Bobby landing on the floor. Alex rolled over to him, her eyes open wide in shock. "Are you okay?"
Bobby stood up and plopped down in his wheelchair. "I'm good, it's okay," he assured her, waving off her concerns. Bobby rolled his wheelchair over to the elevators and closed his eyes.
"Bobby are you sure you're okay?" Carolyn asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. She's not going to be though," Bobby yelled, wheeling himself with all his might towards Alex.
"Oh shit!" Alex exclaimed, trying to wheel out of Bobby's way. He crashed into her and sent her wheelchair backwards into conference room. Carolyn started laughing, which set Bobby off as well.
Mike wheeled Alex out of the conference room, her head hanging, and her body wracked with laughter. "You two are a bunch of yo-yo's. Shut up, you yo-yo's!" He pushed Alex into Bobby and turned back into the conference room. Bobby and Alex looked at each other and burst into giggles. Carolyn collapsed onto the floor, laughing. Mike reappeared in the doorway. "I'm serious! I'm trying to play solitaire in here and I can't concentrate what with the idiot antics going on out here!" This just made the other three detectives laugh harder.
"I think…I just peed my pants a little!" Alex gasped out in between laughs. Mike rolled his eyes. Bobby doubled over with laughter. And then, the power went out.
"Oh this is just great. I'm stuck in the dark with you guys," Mike mumbled. He tried to find his way back into the conference room. Seconds later, there was another crash, followed by Mike swearing very loudly.
"Mike, you all right?" Carolyn called out.
"Yep. Just walked into the damn table. I'll be fine though!" Mike yelled out to them. The room was silent for a moment. There was a loud snort and Alex burst out laughing again.
"He called us yo-yo's!" Alex kept on giggling.
