"This looks like a nice apartment Dad." Sam said, looking around.

"Yeah, it does." Tony agreed. It was a two bedroom, one bath with a combination kitchen and living room.

"So are you going to take it? I mean we've loved having you live with us."

Tony laughed. ``Yeah, I know I've overstayed my welcome."

"No, no Dad you haven't."

"Sam, it's okay. You're a married woman with a little boy. I know having your old dad living with you probably isn't what you had in mind when you bought the house."

'Well no but you were living in Iowa at the time. And we did-I mean do love have you living with us."

"But, you guys need your privacy. And to be honest so do I. When I start teaching at Ridgemont I'll need a quiet place to grade papers and go over my lesson plans."

"And Nicky isn't exactly quiet." Sam laughed.

Tony laughed as well. "No, he isn't. But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't love to have him over for a little grandpa and grandson time."

"He would love that."

"Yeah, since there are two bedrooms we could buy a twin bed and a small dresser for him when he stays over."

"That sounds good. Maybe we could get Angela to help us shop for some furniture?" Sam asked, giving her Dad the side eye.

"Yeah, maybe. We both know how much she loves shopping."

"So how are things going with you?"

"Ummm well you know. We had a good talk at the park. But, I don't know Sam. It just seems like we're far apart. And I know it's all my fault. I just miss her. I miss us."

"Oh Dad. I'm sorry."

"Sam, she told me that she felt like she was my second choice. Can you believe it? She has never been my second choice. She has always been first in my heart."

"Dad, can you really blame her? I mean Kathleen and then Teresa?"

Tony sighed. "I know I have made some huge mistakes. But, I'm trying to make it up to her. I'll do anything to make it up to her. "

"Did you tell her that?"

"I did and she asked me to give her some time."

"Well, hang in there. The two of you belong together."

Tony smiled. "Yeah, we do. I just wish I had accepted that years ago instead of denying my love for her. "

"Well Dad, you are a little slow." Sam laughed.

Tony rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I know that."

"I mean do you remember when we went to the carnival in Brooklyn and she got you that watch inscribed with; IT'S TIME I SAID I LOVE YOU?"

"Of course I do."

"And for some bizarre reason you asked all of us who knew she felt this way?!"

"What's your point Samantha?!"

Sam laughed. "My point is where had you been the last seven years? We couldn't believe you actually didn't know Angela was in love with you. For some strange reason if it had been a few years earlier you wouldn't have had to ask. It was like you, I don't know, became this robot or something."

"A robot? Sam, that is ridiculous."

Sam put her finger up to her chin and tapped it a few times. "Tonybot sounds like a good name."

"Okay, enough! I get it. I wasn't myself then."

"You got that right. But, at least that's all in the past."

"Yes, it is. "

"So, maybe I could call her and we can all go shopping?"

"Yeah, maybe."

"And if Jonathan isn't busy we could ask him too. We could make it a family outing."

"That sounds good. Gee I can't believe he'll be graduating from college in a few days."

"Tell me about it. The little twerp is all grown up."

'Samantha!"

'Oh, come on Dad I'm just kidding. I'm actually very proud of him."

"Some am I."

The day of Jonathan's graduation was a beautiful warm day. Tony, Sam, and Hank were sitting in the bleachers waiting for the ceremony to begin. After a lot of thought they had decided to ask Joe and Fran to watch Nicky. While they knew Nicky loved Jonathan they also knew he would probably get bored and restless sitting there for a couple of hours.

Sam looked down and spotted Angela and Mona. She waved to them and they waved back and started climbing up.

"Hello all!" Mona greeted them.

'Hi!" Hank waved at her.

"Hi Angela." Tony said, smiling at her.

"Hi Tony." Angela smiled back.

"Okay sit your butt down blondie!" Mona ordered her. "Hey look! There's a seat right next to Tony." She gave her a not so gentle push in his direction.

Angela turned around and glared at her. "Real subtle Mother!" she hissed under her breath.

Mona gave her a wide eyed shrug which caused Angela to roll her eyes. But, she did what Mona told her to and sat down next to Tony.

"Beautiful day isn't it?" he asked.

'It is. It's not too hot. It's not too cold."

Mona and Sam looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

"I have to tell you I can't believe we're actually here at his college graduation."

"Tell me about it. I still think of him as a little boy."

"Yeah. King Of The Reptiles!" Tony laughed.

Mona and Sam looked at each other again only this time they were smiling. Maybe they weren't talking about anything romantically but at least they were talking.

For the next couple of hours they listened to various speeches including Jonathan's valedictorian speech which was both moving and funny. Afterwards they went to Angela's for a post graduation party. Joe and Fran came with Nicky.

"So how does it feel to graduate?" Sam asked him

"It feels good."

"Too bad Michael and Heather couldn't make it." Hank said.

"Yeah, I'm heartbroken." Mona said sarcastically.

"MONA!" Tony growled at her.

Once again Mona gave a wide eyed shrug causing everyone to laugh.

"Yeah, I was disappointed when they told me that they couldn't make it but then I realized I already had my family here."

"AWW you're such a softie you twerp." Sam said ruffling his hair.

"Samantha!"

"I'm just kidding Dad."

"Okay, enough talk. Let's eat!" Mona said.

"YAY! Can we have cake first?" Nicky asked.

Hank laughed. "No buddy, we're going to have some sandwiches and other things first."

Nicky sighed. "Okay."

Once again everyone laughed and went into the kitchen where they all fixed their individual plates. Fran, Joe, and Mona went into the living room while Sam, Jonathan, Hank, and Nicky ventured outside leaving Tony and Angela alone in the kitchen.

"I guess it's just us?" Tony said.

"Yeah, it looks like it. "

They both sat down and began eating.

"So how are things going at the Agency?"

"Pretty good. There's a new campaign I'm working on."

"Well knowing you Angela you'll knock it out of the park!"

Angela smiled. "Thank you Tony. You've always been my biggest supporter."

"Well you are the best." he said softly, giving her a small smile.

"So ummm have you found a place yet?" Angela asked nervously.

"Uh, yeah I have. Sam was supposed to ask you if you wanted to help shop for furniture. It has a second bedroom and I was planning on buying a bed and small dresser for Nicky for when he stays over." He shook his head suddenly realizing how ridiculous he sounded. What on earth was he thinking?! How could he possibly think for one moment Angela would want to help him furnish his apartment?!

"I'm sorry Angela. I know the last thing you probably want to do is help me look for furniture."

"No, actually I would love to help."

"Really?"

"Yes, I mean we are still friends."

"Yeah, friends," he said sadly.

"Tony I.."

"No, Angela, it's okay. If that's all you want to be right now I'll accept it."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

No more was said as they ate the rest of their meal in silence.

THE FOLLOWING WEEK:

Angela spent the next week going over her ideas for the new ad campaign. But, no matter what she did she couldn't get Tony's disappointed look out of her mind. She hated hurting him but she still needed time. She sighed and sat down on the couch. She didn't know what she should do. She loved Tony. She loved him with all her heart. But, she was still a little hesitant to trust him. She shook her head knowing she wasn't going to get any more work done. So she decided to go take a drive to clear her head. She grabbed her keys and got in her jag and began driving around Fairfield. Before she knew what was happening she had pulled up to a very familiar place. She sat there for a few moments not quite knowing how she had gotten there. Was someone trying to tell her something? Maybe so.

"Well you're here for a reason." she told herself. She turned off the engine and removed the keys from the ignition. She opened her door and got out, closing and locking it behind her. She walked up to the door and knocked on it. After a few minutes the door was opened.

"Angela! It's been a while."
