"For Fallen Angels, they sure live in a place that would suit a vampire more. Abandoned church, cobwebs, creepy priests in cloaks-"

He paused and backtracked as he spotted the creepy guys staring at them from the woods. And the roof and all over really. "Huh."

"Our job is to take those creepy priests in cloaks out so Issei can go on ahead," Kiba said as he brandished his blade.

"Smash them," Koneko said softly.

Kyousuke wasn't exactly going to deny a rumble, blame Kintoki for being an awful influence, so he quickly got into a battle stance.

"Kiba," he said, catching the blond knight's attention ,"Leave the front lines to Koneko and I, you speed blitz them. We're the tanks, after all."

He nodded. "Got it."

And so the battle commenced.

Fucking Satan, blasts of holy energy hurt!

Have you tried punching them?

Not helping, Kintoki!

He had been separated from Koneko and Kiba by a veritable sea of these crazy assholes. They had no sense of self preservation and were just throwing themselves at him in a bid to take him down.

Problem with this? They had a real nasty habit of energy projectiles. Holy energy projectiles. And his abilities required him getting up close and personal. He wasn't as small and nimble as Koneko, so dodging under the attacks wasn't an option. Which meant, he was shit outta luck.

If there were ever a time for one of you other guys to deem me worthy, now would be it!

He dove to the ground to avoid another attack. He really didn't want to die today, but it seemed like that was quickly becoming a possibility. Sona was never gonna forgive him!

Thinking about a cherished one even in the face of death. I would expect nothing less from one who would be my Master!

He blinked. A woman's voice?

Invoke my name if you wish to make it back to your beloved one! Include - Caster!

Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, he deactivated Rider, pulled out the Caster card and focused on it.

"Include - Caster!"

A bright pink light enveloped him as he smiled softly, a mirror materializing in the air beside him.

"To try and take me away from my beloved . . . I will make you regret it!"

With a flick of his wrist, he sent a bunch of fireballs into the enemy ranks.

"You call yourselves magicians? You're 1,000 years too early to even consider standing before me!"

When Sona learned from Rias that her Rook had stormed the enemy castle, she was beside herself with worry. She didn't show it of course, but she was worried that he might get hurt. He hadn't even hunted a stray yet. Sure, he had fought a Fallen Angel and won, but that's because he had caught her off guard. She wasn't sure how he would fare in a real combat situation.

She bit her lip. That self-righteous idiot!

Even so, she couldn't be mad at him. He was simply doing what he believed was the right thing and as he apparently did it with her interests in mind, she wouldn't hold it against him.

That said, when she made it to the church and found her servant amidst a sea of bodies while giggling. She was concerned.

"Kyousuke?"

He turned toward her and smiled. "Hey, President! Guess what? I invoked Caster! And I did it for you!"

". . . What?"

"I didn't like the idea of being taken from you, so I had to teach them a lesson!"

That made her realize that he was being influenced by the card like he'd been the first time.

So instead of putting up with it, she put him to sleep with a spell.

She glanced down at his sleeping form and frowned.

"What am I going to do with you?"

She wasn't going to admit that his words had flustered her. Never. She'd take that to the grave.
