Kyousuke stared at the developing situation in front of him with mild concern and barely concealed amusement. On one hand, it was nice to see that Mittelt was finally branching out and speaking to more people. On the other hand, she had taken to relentlessly teasing Irina and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. It wasn't mean spirited or anything, but once Irina found out that Mittelt was a former Fallen Angel, she tried asking what it was like to be an angel. Apparently she held Fallen Angels in higher esteem than Devils, who knew?
So now he was in the student council room, practically babysitting two blondes who were sniping at eachother like they were sisters. And while they did that, he decided to focus on another issue he was having. Namely, the pouting Mordred in his mind.
I said I was sorry! I lost control, alright?
I'm not mad at you, Mordred. I was a bit overwhelmed by your rage, but I am not mad at you.
Still, I shouldn't have gone off the deep end like that. I thought my last Master beat that out of me.
Just take it easy, okay?
I can't. Not while knowing that there are more fragments of Excalibur out there. Do me a favor, Master. Destroy them for me, okay? For my father.
You got it.
And I want something else.
Yeah?
I want you to install with me so that I can try some of the food around here. I-I mean, it's not imperative or anything, but I've been curious about the kinds of food that Japan has to offer.
He couldn't see her, but he'd bet money that she was blushing out of embarrassment.
I could arrange that.
Alright! I mean, pff, it ain't that big of a deal.
He rolled his eyes at her antics
Sona was hosting a joint meeting between both peerages and the exorcists. There was only one problem. Kyousuke wasn't present. Well, he was, but it wasn't actually him. No, it was Saber. And things just got weirder from there.
Apparently she and Kyousuke had made an accord and she had been sampling the various foods around the city when the meeting had been called. She said that she couldn't change back because Kyousuke had fallen asleep within her mind, so she was left in control. Talk about troublesome.
On the plus side, Saber and Kiba had hit it off. They were practically besties. They both bonded over their hatred of the holy weapon they were after and spent the time brainstorming the various ways Valper should meet his gruesome end.
"Okay!" Saber shouted as she slammed her right hand on the table. "I say we take all the pieces of that shitty Excalibur, turn them into a drill and shove it right up Valper's ass!"
"I am in agreement with that statement," Kiba said from her left. "But I insist we then take the drill and crush it with a hydraulic press."
"No, no. Too easy. We melt it with jet fuel."
"Hurl it into the sun."
"Feed it to a dragon."
"Summon an eldritch god to obliterate it."
"Break it with our much better swords."
"Shit, that's good."
Sona watched this back and forth for quite some time and couldn't help but sigh. Saber and Kiba were going to derail everything. She felt it deep within her bones.
She even had to insist that Saber change into the Kuoh school uniform because her current gear was much too revealing. For humans, that is. As a devil, she didn't care much. But she had appearances to keep up. Luckily, Saber had told that when she changed back, Kyousuke would be in his old clothes and now that she's worn the uniform, she could appear already wearing it whenever she installed.
Good to know.
"So," Sona said as she massaged her temples. "I suppose we're all in agreement that, uh, the swords have to be broken and that Valper needs to meet his end, right?"
Everyone nodded. Even Irina had agreed to give up her fragment, but only after the crisis had passed. Xenovia, for her part, had admitted to having a different sword already, so while she was still sore over losing her fragment, she'd live.
"Any more questions?"
"I got one," Issei said. "Can you leave that Freed bastard to me? I've got a score to settle with him."
Rias rubbed her chin. "I don't see why not. I think you're more than strong enough to handle him now, Ise. But remember we're in this as a team, so don't try to do everything yourself."
She glanced straight at Saber and Kiba when she said this and both had the decency to look a little sheepish.
Sona merely shook her head in amusement before standing up.
"Alright then. Let us go hunt some stray exorcists."
