Still not mine, still just wasting time, still should write my master, but I'm a procrastinator.

If anyone is wondering, I'm just sticking with their narrative, not gonna dive into what Zuko and co. + others are doing, since they're so far pretty much just doing what they're doing.

Chapter 2

He hasn't had this much fun in a long time. Using the wind to flee from a kid chasing him through corridors and hallways in an ancient temple, running on the floor, walls and ceiling trying to get away. He couldn't help it, he laughed out loud which only seemed to anger the kid behind him even more.

"Stop!"

"Why!?" he shouted back. He looked over his shoulder and saw the kid trying to gain on him. Suddenly, what was it? Amy? No... Annie? No no... An? Oh whatever, baldy behind him twirled his hands and created a ball of air which he then rode on! Hari was so surprised he nearly ran into a column, but feeling the air pressure he spun out of the way at the last second and ended up a stairway. "Oh yeah" he thought, "this leads up to the overlook!"

At the same time Aang was fuming! "Who does he think he is?! But at least he has nowhere to run now!"

They entered the chamber but Hari didn't slow down, he ran towards the balcony, Aang following behind him still thinking that he would stop at the last minute.

Hari smirked, thinking he knew what the kid was thinking he was doing. A couple of meters before the edge he sped up making Aang stop, sliding across the floor while he took two long steps, one foot on the balcony railing and jumped into the air shouting out of joy!

"Are you trying to kill yourself?" Aang shouted, jumping after him and unfolding his kite. "Don't worry I'll save you!"

Hari didn't hear, nor cared for he was freefalling through the air towards the square below. Aang was worried. He realised that he couldn't catch up to him, no matter how hard he pushed. All his anger was forgotten, now he was scared that he would lose another, even though he didn't know this guy but just before Hari hit the ground, he pushed his hands in front of him using airbending to slow down, wait, airbending? It was only then that Aang realised all the running on the walls, the whole chase that it was another airbender! "Wait for me!" He shouted.

Having slowed down a bit he could hear the change in the tone of voice of his pursuer. Before he hit the ground face first, he snapped his arms to his sides and did a broomless Wronski Feint, shooting forward just inches above the ground continuing for a few meters before corkscrewing 90 straight up, coming to a full stop, descending slowly and landing neatly on the ground, smiling all the way to his ears.

Aang landed not far from him, mouth open in disbelief. "You're an airbender!"

"If what I did is airbending then yes, I am and if I'm not wrong then so is you." He said, nodding sagely.

"But I was told that there were no more of us, that we were all gone? Wait a minute, what?" Aang was mumbling to himself but looking up at Hari as if he just heard what he said. "If what you did? What do you mean, of course it's airbending, what else could it be?"

"I don't know." Hari said, shrugging his shoulders. "I haven't met or spoken with other people since I got here."

Just then someone shouted behind them. "That was so COOL!" Turning they saw Sokka and Katara walking up to them. Sokka, who shouted, continued swinging his arms "Man did you see that Katara! First, they were like WOOSH and then like ZOOM and WOOM! So cool!"

Katara was rolling her eyes at her brother before directing her attention to Hari. "So, you're an airbender? But I heard that they were extinct 100 years ago?"

"Honestly I don't know much about this place's history." Hari said, shaking his head. "I don't actually know where I am."

"But you said you lived here?" She asked.

"Yep, I do but I'm not sure how long actually, didn't really count the time. Most of my life here, I haven't been to any other place, I have nowhere else to go."

"But who taught you airbending then?" Aang asked.

"You know what? It's getting late. Why don't we go to one of the studies, light up a fire, I'll tell you my story and," Just then Sokka's stomach growled "get something to eat."

"But" Aang started, but he was quickly cut off by Hari. "Don't worry about your bison. We'll pick the study with a big balcony so he can join, you know which one." He said with a smile. "I'll go ahead and prepare. Don't want to be a poor host." He went into a crouch with his hands on his knees. "Let's GO!" As he shouted the last part he jumped straight up into the air going in a wide arch and FLYING TOWARDS THE MAIN SPIRE!

"O~kay. Well he seems interesting" Katara said, turning towards Aang, wanting to ask where to go but she couldn't help but giggle when she saw Aang's expression. He was standing, slightly bent over, big eyed and slack mouthed, staring after Hari.

"You okay there buddy?" Sokka said, waving a hand in front of Aang's eyes.

Aang blinked once, twice, rubbed his eyes and blinked again. "Are you okay Aang?" Katara asked curiously.

"He flew." He said quietly.

"Yes we know, he's an airbender like you." Sokka said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"No no no, you don't get it, he can fly!" Aang said with conviction.

"Yes we know, just like you!" Sokka said, punctuating his words by pointing at Aang and his glider.

"You don't get it!" Aang said louder.

Katara, who had been quiet through the exchange, stepped forward, putting her hand on Aangs shoulder. "What don't we get Aang? Is it some kinda airbender thing?"

Aang looked at them like they just sprouted second heads. He threw both hands, gesturing to the direction that Hari just flew. "He flew! FLEW!"

Before Sokka could say a word Katara looked at him, narrowing her eyes in the universal gesture of "don't you dare!".

"We saw that he flew Aang" she said in a soothing voice, "But we don't get why it's so surprising. We've seen you fly?"

"It's not the same!" Aang stated, stamping his foot.

"What's the big deal! You fly, he flies, the lemur flies and Appa flies! You're all a bunch of airheads if you ask me." Sokka said getting another look from Katara.

"But that's the point!" Aang pointed out. "What I do is closer to how a lemur flies. I use bending to manipulate the wind around my glider to fly. Skybison FLY! They just FLY!" He shouted, throwing his hands up in the air.

"O~h! I get it. So Hari flies like skybison… Which means… OH! He can FLY!" Sokka shouted pointing at Aang.

"That's what I said!" Aang shouted pointing back.

"Can you two stop shouting! I get it too but it's getting dark and I'd rather not get lost because we can't see where we're going." Katara was standing, crossing her arms and tapping her foot.

"Oh… Right. Follow me, I know which room he talked about." Aang said, starting to walk towards one of the entrances of the temple.

Arriving at a set of double doors, Aang stopped. "This used to be Gyatsos study. I've spent so much time here. It always made me feel calm and relaxed, more than anyplace here." He put his hand over his chest and took a deep breath. "I know he's gone and I always knew that one day he wouldn't be here anymore but it doesn't make it easier. I miss him."

Katara looked at him and took his hand. "And it's okay to miss him. Aang, would you rather we asked Hari to meet us somewhere else?"

Aang shook his head. Took another deep breath and looked up. "No, it's something that I need to face," he said as he opened the door.

.

.

.

He might have expected many things when we opened the door but not what greeted him. He was getting tired of being surprised.

Inside the room was Appa, already laying on his stomach on the floor with his eyes closed, but that's not the surprising part. On Appas nose was Hari sitting cross legged, leaning his forehead right between Appas big eyes. Then as one they opened their eyes, Appa grunting and Hari laughing, scratching Appas forehead making the skybison rumble in appreciation.

"Welcome to the place I've been living," Hari said as he jumped of Appas nose, "out of all the rooms in this place, this somehow feels the most serene and welcoming. Whoever lived here before me must have been a great person."

The honesty in the way Hari spoke made Aang smile. In some way he knew Gyatso would appreciate the sentiment. It helped somehow, knowing that Gyatso was still appreciated even after all this time, even though he wasn't even here for a 100 years.

"I'm not used to having guests but come, dinner is served," he swept his arm towards a table. It was filled with berries and fruits but also a big pot. Sokka, seeing the table, close to teleported over the table, filling his mouth with whatever he could get his hands on. Katara's cheeks reddening of embarrassment over her brother's actions. "Come on you two before there's nothing left."

"What smells so good?" Aang asked, closing his eyes and breathing in through his nose.

"Oh, it's the soup. It's my own creation. It took some time to learn what to use but luckily I'm a pretty decent chef," Hari said, giving the two a smile, while sitting down at the table, the two joining him.

As he sat he grabbed the stack of bowls and filled them with a thick grass-greenish soup.

Katara and Sokka were eying the soup a bit suspiciously while taking a tentative sip, his eyes going wide and wolfing down the rest, handing the bowl back with big eyes and the exclamation of "seconds please!"

Hari chuckled and refilled the bowl. "Happy you like it. It's all vegetarian since there's not really any way to get meat here, also I don't feel like hunting something and then realizing that I can't eat it. Rather not kill something just for testing, seems like a waste of life." He finished, while Aang sat nodding along while still eating the soup.

"It's delicious?!" Katara said in surprise after her own taste. "I'm sorry, I'm just not used to guys being able to cook. It's actually better than anything I ever made," She said reddening again.

"Well, when you live by yourself you gotta learn how to cook, plus it gives me something to do and double plus, I like it, especially sharing it with others." He smiled at them. "I hadn't realized how much I missed the company of other people." He closed his eyes while taking a sip of his own soup.

"Well, I guess I promised you a story. I'm just warning you that it might seem strange, farfetched and even crazy at times, but I promise that it's all true. If you afterwards deem me a loon it's okay. I'm ready for that." He had a sad smile as he said the last part.

"Now!" He said, getting their attention, even though they were still eating, Sokka slowing down now that the worst of his hunger satiated. Even Appa seemed to pay attention, with a lemur sitting on top of his head eating a fruit.

Hari took a deep breath and started his tale:

"Another world, another time, in the age of wonder…"
