Chapter 12

Tradition at the Snow Village

Author's Note: Sorry for the super late update. Been sidetracked with other stories to write. I got new supporters as well. So that was why it took me so long to update. Plus that, I needed to plan things together. Hehe.

So my lovely guest reviewers told me to go ahead and do the first appearance of Fairy Tale. And I decided why not? There's really nothing else i could do for fillers. Hehe.

Besides, the battle with Kahlua has been playing in my head for a while. So yeah. Finally gonna do it.

Enjoy!

Love can be such a powerful tool. I know it from first hand when I fell in love with Moka-san. Mizore-chan's love with Kurumu-chan has gotten a lot stronger day by day. But…there comes a day when that bond will come together as one. I did not expect it to be so soon though….

"M-Mother…married…? Me?" Mizore says as she is on the phone with Tsurara that afternoon. "When did this come up….?"

"Correct, darling," Tsurara says. "It's our tradition to the Yuki-Onna family to hold a wedding once the lover has been chosen, just a few months after dating. You have been with Kurumu-san for the past 6 months right?"

Mizore blushes and gives a soft smile. "Yes…it has been a while…"

"Then it's decided," Tsurara says. "I have already arranged a special trip with the help of your homeroom teacher. You will be going this weekend, just so that you have time to prepare yourself."

"Wait, Mother…" Mizore says. "Isn't that going a little fast though? I mean, I haven't graduated yet and I'm still a second year, so…"

Tsurara giggles. "This wedding is meant for a celebration, darling. And besides, you already know I fully accept your relationship with Kurumu-san. It won't be official this time around. But when the time comes, sweetie, let me know if you want to hold an actual wedding. The ring on your finger this time is meant for the bond that you hold for your lover."

"Thanks, Mother," Mizore says.

Later*

"Married!?" Yukari exclaims. "Mizore's getting married….with big jugs over here!?"

"Hey, watch your mouth!" Kurumu shouts.

"Woooow! A gay wedding for the two of you~!" Moka says, clasping her hands together. "That must be so wonderful!"

"Mother said it wasn't official," Mizore explains. "But it's more like proof that our bond is strong and will continue to stay that way if we are willing to put rings on our fingers." She gently rubs her thumb on Kurumu's back palm.

Kurumu turns to her girlfriend with a smile. "Oh i would be more than willing to receive that ring and put one on YOUR finger, My Little Snow Bunny~"

The two share a giggle and lean in to lock lips against one another.

"I can't wait for the wedding!" Gin says. "I hope you girls wear some sexy wedding dresses! That would be an awesome sight!"

"Oh shut up!" Yukari says. "Being a perv like always!"

"Hey can you blame me~?" The wolf man says.

"Actually…" Mizore says. "We're wearing kimonos at the wedding. It's a tradition at our village."

"So wait, we're actually going there?" Kasumi asks.

"Of course," Mizore says. "That is if you want to."

Everyone else exchanges looks and gives a smile of approval.

"Are you kidding~?" Yukari says. "I would love to see the wedding!"

"Maybe we can ask Ruby-san to join in as well," Kasumi says.

"I look forward to hearing your vows~!" Moka says. She then turns to Kasumi and then hugs her tightly. "Maybe someday we can hold OUR unofficial wedding~"

"R-really…?" Kasumi blushes and her ponytail wags wildly.

Mizore smiles a small smile. She is glad that her friends are able to join the unofficial wedding. Her mother is happy with her relationship with Kurumu. In a few hours, she will hold that ring on her finger.

Meanwhile*

"No…way…" Kahlua says as she looks at the map, showing a red mark toward a snowy village.

"Your task is to take down Mizore Shirayuki," Gyokuro says. "I heard she's attending an unofficial wedding there. Crash the wedding. Crush Kurumu's hopes and dreams. Kill anybody in sight that interferes. And then, go for the rosary."

"Th-that's too much!" Kahlua says, putting her gloved fist to her chest. "I don't want to cause all this destruction!"

"You don't have to," Gyokuro says. "That's why I'm having my army aid you." She gestures toward little devils with tridents in their hands. "They will burn down the village within seconds. The Yuuki-Onna are no good against fire demons. So that's why I brought these little minions~"

"Y-you're horrible…" Kahlua whimpers.

Akua decides to speak. "Mother, we shall do as you say. But…instead of killing Shirayuki, wouldn't it be better to have her as bait? It will lure Moka to come to us and you will have the chance to get that rosary, right?"

"That's not a bad idea," Gyokuro says. "Alright. But still kill those who try to interfere. Leave Moka alive and bring her to me."

"Uuuu…" Kahlua whimpers.

"It shall be done," Akua says.

Later*

On the bus, while everyone is bundled up for the icy cold village they are heading to, Kasumi looks out the window. This is the first time she's traveling to a place she's never been to. More like a friend's place than anything.

Moka plops down next to Kasumi, who has winter clothing on. Brown turtleneck sweater, black short skirt, black thigh high socks with ankle boots on her feet. Kasumi, on the other hand is wearing a simple long sleeved blue shirt with her coat over it and dark blue jeans.

"Isn't this wonderful~?" Moka hugs her lover. "We get to go on a trip and attend the wedding! How more exciting can it get~?"

Kasumi blushes with her ponytail wagging with excitement. "S-so close…."

Yet the two of them cannot help but gaze into each other's eyes. Since everyone is still boarding, maybe now's a good time for them to stare lovingly at each other for a minute.

"Moka-san…"

"Kasumi…"

"Moka-san…"

"Kasumi….~"

"Moka-san…!"

"Oh, Kasumi~!"

"YEEEAAAAAHH!" Kurumu plops down on the seat behind the two. "Let's roll!"

"Always interrupting…" Moka deadpans.

Mizore pops up next to Kurumu. "It won't be long now…"

"Hehe! I wish you both happiness~" Moka says.

The bus ride to the village takes about a few hours since it's pretty far away. Once they have arrived, Tsurara with a line of Yuuki-Onna behind her are waiting for them. Kasumi and her friends step out of the bus to greet them.

"Nice of you to come~" The mother Yuuki-Onna says. "Right this way, my daughter. Oh and please take Kurumu-san to the other room. We want our lovers to surprise each other~"

"Right away!" Three Yuuki-Onna say in unison and take Kurumu while the mother takes Mizore.

"The rest of you can get seated and wait for the wedding to begin~" Tsurara says.

The others nod and head toward the tall church in the middle of the village. Moka and Kasumi take a seat in the front row while Yukari and the rest sit behind them. Everyone else gets seated and waits patiently for the bride and "groom" to step forth.

"It's been a while since I have been to an actual wedding," Kasumi points out while looking down at the snowy ground.

"Me, too," Moka says. "But…what's best about is that our best friends are getting married to each other."

"Yeah," Kasumi gently puts her hand on top of her girlfriend's.

Yukari is super excited about this arrangement. Ruby is sitting next to her, smiling.

Meanwhile*

Dressed in a short white kimono with stockings on her legs, Mizore looks at herself while Tsuara makes the finishing touches. She puts a bridal veil on top of Mizore's head.

"There we go," Tsurara says. "How's my Bride-To-Be~?"

"A little nervous, actually," Mizore replies quietly. "But I'm excited at the same time. I am…very glad I'm marrying the one I truly love~"

Tsurara smiles and hugs her daughter. "I'm glad too. Now then…shall we~?"

The lovely mother extends her hand with a smile. Mizore gently grips it and the two are on their way to the chapel.

A Few Minutes Later*

The organ plays and the people stand up to see the two doors open. There, they see Mizore and her mother walking along the red carpet. Kurumu is standing where the priestess is, smiling at the beautiful bride to be.

The priestess begins to open the book. "We are gathered here today…to bond this Snow Woman, Mizore Shirayuki…and the Succubus, Kurumu Kurono…as one. They have been through tough times, but in the end, they stayed together and loved each other no matter what. Through these 6 months of being together as a couple is proof enough that those two are perfect for each other."

Mizore and Kurumu share a loving expression. They hold each other's hands and press their foreheads together, closing their eyes and smiling. Neither of them can believe this is really happening. Nor can their best friends who are sitting in the front row. Moka is near tears while holding Kasumi's hand, squeezing it tightly. The brunette does the same, also shedding some tears.

"The rings," The snow priestess says.

One Yuki-onna presents the box and opens it, containing two diamond rings. Mizore is the first to pick one up. She tenderly holds Kurumu's hand in her own while holding out the ring. The beautiful succubus tries her best to not shed tears.

"Kurumu…my life with you has never been better," Mizore says. "You gave me hope…a reason to live. If it weren't for you or the others, I wouldn't be here today. With this ring….I thee wed." She carefully slips on the ring.

Kurumu admires it lovingly and then turns to pick the second ring and tenderly hold Mizore's hand in her own.

"Mizore…you have made my life a miracle," Kurumu says. "My destined one was difficult to determine. Had it not been Kasumi-chan or the others, I would've been lost. But you…you captured my heart the day you arrived at Yokai Academy. So…with this ring…I-"

CRASH!

The ceiling starts to crumble. Walls burst open and little female devils with long red hair and horns on their heads, holding tridents begin to swarm the large chapel. Everyone starts running and screaming for their lives. The devils shoot flames at Mizore and Kurumu, but they both evade, going in separate ways before the flames crash down and fire spreads. Moka and Kasumi make a run for it while Yukari and Ruby try to extinguish the fires. Tsurara freezes a few of the devils and then starts to head for the double doors.

"Kasumi-chan! Moka-chan!" Tsurara calls. "Come with me!"

"Alright!" Moka nods and takes Kasumi's hand.

However, the devils surround Kurumu and Mizore and they are unable to catch up with the rest. Unbeknownst to the everyone, a certain purple haired maiden is watching cautiously as the demons try and attack the innocents. She then goes into hiding, lucky that the devils didn't catch her.

Later*

Moka, Kasumi and Kokoa, who is tagging along for the trip, head downstairs to the basement. Tsurara shuts the door and presses a button next to the book shelves.

"You will need these," she says. She shows them a whole arsenal of guns. Shotguns, pistols, rifles, sniper rifles, you name it. All are stored behind the bookshelves.

"Whoa, where did you get them?" Kasumi asks as she takes a pistol and loads it.

"Let's just say I have what I need to protect my daughter," Tsurara smiles. "The Snow Village can be endangered every so often. So I have to be prepared~"

Moka takes a rifle and loads it while Kokoa takes a shotgun. Everyone is fully prepared…yet Tsurara wants to stay behind.

"Aren't you coming?" Kasumi asks.

"Just in case someone tries to break in here, which they most likely won't," Tsurara says. "My daughter is in grave danger though. You should be concerned about her more."

"Right!" Moka says. "Kasumi, let's go!"

"R-right behind you!" Kasumi replies.

"Hey, wait for me!" Kokoa calls.

Tsurara giggles and cups a hand to her cheek. "I'm so glad my daughter has friends like you~"

Later*

Kurumu and Mizore have defeated most of the devils, yet there are still more surrounding them.

"Damn! How many are there!?" Kurumu backs away a few steps until she is back to back with her bride-to-be.

"They just keep coming…!" Mizore lashes out her ice claws. "I never thought I would have this on my wedding day…!"

"Me neither!" Kurumu says. "But if this keeps up, we'll be too exhausted to prepare for what's to come next!"

"Not to worry!" Kokoa calls out. "Help is on the way!"

Moka fires shots with her rifle, causing the devils to scatter. Kasumi shoots bullets with her pistol, but keeps missing since the devils are a little fast. Kokoa however fires her shotgun and takes one down. She reloads and fires, reloads and fires, rinses and repeat. One by one, the devil girls fall to the ground dead, giving Kurumu and Mizore to split up and take down the rest. Kokoa reloads her shot gun and Moka and Kasumi get in front of the pig-tailed girl to protect her.

Unfortunately more and more devils come. Kasumi and Moka grit their teeth.

"We have no other choice, do we?" Moka says.

"I-I'm afraid not," Kasumi says as she finds out she is out of bullets. "Stand back. Let me handle this."

"Kasumi!" Moka cries. "There's too many of them to take down by yourself!"

Kasumi transforms into her kitsune self and turns toward her girlfriend. "Not if my lightning has anything to say about it." She looks up at the full army of female devils, making a very large group. Easy for Kasumi to take down. She raises her katana high, lightning surging through it. "Time for a shock!"

She swings it diagonally upward and huge bolts of lightning strikes all of them down at once. She turns to the right and more comes through the broken window. She takes them down with her lightning attack as well. And from that point, all of the devils are dead. Kitsune Kasumi drops to her knees, exhausted with Moka coming to her aid.

"Kasumi…!" Moka cries.

"I-I'm fine…" Kasumi replies with a weak smile.

"You sure exerted yourself," Kokoa says. "Don't do that again."

"O-okay…" Kasumi says.

Just then, they hear a quiet voice with clacking of high heels approach them.

"Looks like…it's just you and me…" The figure shows herself from the shadows.

Yukari and Ruby rush toward the group to see a beautiful young woman with tanned skin and long blonde hair. She is wearing a formal white dress with white thigh high boots and white elbow gloves. Kokoa's eyes widen as she recognizes her.

"Kalua-nee-san!?" Kokoa exclaims.
