Chapter 4: Digital Deception
Whistling to himself as he walked through the corridors of Grid Battleforce, Lewis couldn't help but chuckle at how many people were talking about Valentines' Day. It wasn't a day he was particularly interested in, but he always enjoyed watching how manic people could get.
A scream echoed down the corridor, seeming to come from right around the corner, and Lewis laughed lightly. Speaking of manic.
"Betty! Bee, bee!" he turned the corner to see Ben and Betty up to their usual hijinks. Ben was hiding behind Betty, who was wielding a bouquet like a weapon.
"It's on a rampage!" Betty yelped as Lewis spotted the bee they were trying to catch.
"Whoa," to their surprise, Lewis reached out and caught the bee in his hand, keeping his hand wide enough not to hurt the bee. "Now how'd you get in here, huh?" he asked, talking gently to the bee as he opened his hand. The bee remained perched on his finger.
"Wow," with the crisis averted, Ben and Betty peered closer.
"Something tells me you want the flowers, huh little buddy?" Lewis chuckled. "But they're going to the Rangers. Let's get you outta here," he crouched, lifting one of the flowers that had fallen from the bouquet in their panic. He handed it to Betty, and walked off, still talking to the bee.
"He's awesome," Ben breathed, in awe of the instructor. Betty nodded, equally amazed by him.
"It's funny," Roxy started as she paced in front of Evox. Blaze was sulking, leaning against the wall after their latest loss, and Scrozzle was complaining about it under his breath while Asher sat nearby, seeming to be meditating. "Even as an Avatar, I still have all my human memories," Roxy mused, looking at a copy of a rose that she'd created.
"We're digital copies of our human selves," Asher spoke up, not opening her eyes. "Stands to reason that we'd remember everything," she said as the rose vanished from Roxy's fingers.
"But without all the messy emotions," Roxy considered. Asher cracked open an eye. She remembered the day their Avatar selves had come into being. Roxy had been devastated by Ravi breaking up with her. "It's given me an idea," Roxy lifted her head to smirk up at Evox.
"Great," if Scrozzle could, he'd have rolled his eyes. "Another one of your-"
"Silence!" Evox snapped, and the robot yelped, scrambling backwards as Blaze smirked. "Let her continue," the Virus ordered as Roxy giggled.
"It's Valentine's Day today. And I'll bet the Blue Ranger is missing me," Roxy's expression changed to a soft, sad one. "I think he even loved me," he said softly, her brown eyes big as she pouted, feigning sadness. She then rolled her eyes, scoffing.
"You're gonna manipulate his feelings for you," Blaze realised, looking impressed. Roxy smirked.
"Exactly," she confirmed. "And I'll bring him over to our side," she said, the plan clear in her mind.
"A Ranger could help get the Morph-X I need to return to your world," Evox considered, not opposed to her plan. "It had better work," he warned, still unimpressed by their last defeat.
"Oh, it'll work," Roxy said confidently. With that, she turned and walked away. "Trust me," she said without looking back. Asher snorted quietly. She didn't trust any of them.
Devon couldn't help but laugh as Ryne took a seat beside him at the table in Riptide Gym, managing to balance three sandwiches, a plate of cookies, and a smoothie.
"Hungry much?" he teased as she immediately dug into the food in front of her. She then pushed the plate of heart-shaped cookies covered in icing towards him and Zoey, who was eating a salad.
"They gave me the cookies," Ryne said simply, missing the grin exchanged between Zoey and Devon. "Why are they heart-shaped?" she asked, oblivious as she took another bite.
"Uh...maybe because of what today is?" Zoey laughed, holding a raw carrot in her hand. Ryne looked up, looking confused. "Valentine's Day?" she reminded with a giggle.
"Already?" Ryne leaned back, looking a little surprised. "Explains the hearts Fane sent me this morning," she nodded to herself, thinking about the message she'd woken up to from her best friend.
"Fane?" Zoey repeated, pausing as she wondered why the name was so familiar.
"My best friend," Ryne answered. "You guys can share the cookies," she added, already moving past the topic and starting on her second sandwich.
"Awesome," Devon grinned, grabbing one straight away. He'd already had his lunch, but he couldn't resist cookies. He then held the plate out to Zoey, who shook her head.
"I'm good," she denied, happily eating her salad. "I can't believe you didn't know it was Valentine's Day. It's everywhere," Zoey said to Ryne, who shrugged.
"With everything that's happened, I didn't realise the date," Ryne answered, having been too busy adjusting to living in Coral Harbour, as well as visiting Asher, determined to see her at least once a week, plus everything that came with being a Ranger. Devon just laughed, not too surprised. It seemed part of her personality to be a little on the scattered side.
"You sure you don't want one?" he offered the cookies to Zoey again, changing the subject.
"Not for me," she shook her head, waving a carrot in her hand. "I really love my carrots," the Yellow Ranger laughed lightly as she bit into it.
"Another side-effect from your Jackrabbit DNA?" Ryne asked her, suddenly looking a little more interested.
"Yeah, I can't get enough of them. Even when I'm not tired," Zoey nodded, having noticed shortly after becoming a Ranger that carrots had become her favourite food. Her mother had even commented on it, delighted that she was eating something healthy.
"How about you? Want a Valentine's Day cookie?" Devon offered the plate to Ravi as he sat down, carrying a blue water bottle.
"No thanks," Ravi pushed the plate away. "I'm not a big fan of the holiday," he told them, but all three could tell that he looked downcast. However, before they could ask him what was wrong, Devon's communicator beeped.
"Go ahead," After a quick scan to make sure nobody was listening, he answered.
"Rangers, there's been a disturbance downtown. Sector Bravo 4-2," Commander Shaw warned quietly. "I need you to check it out," she instructed the four, who exchanged concerned looks.
"We're on our way," the four abandoned their table and the cookies, grabbing their things and hurrying out.
"This is a blast!" the bright yellow Robotron cackled as he chased terrified civilians away, firing shots to cause explosions all around, narrowly missing the people. He stopped when he saw the four Rangers running towards him, rather than away. "Well, what do you want?" he challenged them.
"To send you back to Evox in pieces," Devon replied simply.
"Tronics!" the robot snapped his fingers, calling on a group of the footsoldiers. The Rangers responded by calling on their blasters.
"Ravi, we'll take care of these clowns. You go take care of Mr. Dig," Devon told the Blue Ranger.
"Crush them!" the Robotron ordered, walking forwards as the Tronics ran to attack the Rangers. Using the moves they'd been learning from Lewis, along with their blasters, Devon, Zoey and Ryne focused the Tronics that followed them as they split up.
"Whoa!" Ryne jumped back to avoid the blade swinging for her face. She quickly fired a blast that knocked the Tronic flying, and ducked under another to kick out at it. "You guys are relentless," she commented as they continued to try and hit her, but she was too fast for them. When the last few rushed her, Ryne tossed her blaster into the air. They looked up at it, following the sudden movement, and Ryne smirked as her powers sparked in her hands, frying the Tronics.
Catching her blaster easily, Ryne looked around to see how her team-mates were doing. Zoey and Devon were finishing off the last of their opponents, while Ravi was on the ground staring up at Roxy, who now stood between him and the Robotron.
"What's wrong?! I was gonna smash him!" the Robotron whined as the other three ran to help the Blue Ranger.
"Let's go, now!" Roxy snarled.
"Roxy?" Ravi could barely breathe as he stared up at her. His ex-girlfriend turned to him, her expression softening, before she vanished in a whirl of yellow.
"Ravi!"
"Are you okay?" Devon asked as they helped Ravi up.
"She saved me…" Ravi stared at the spot where Roxy had stood. "Roxy saved me," he told them, taking the other three by surprise. All of them looked over, wondering what really had happened.
Commander Shaw paced, concerned as they finished explaining what had happened.
"That Robotron didn't seem to be after the Morph-X," she considered as the four Rangers, as well as Nate and Lewis, stood together. "What was it up to?" the woman wondered aloud. "And Nate," she suddenly whirled around to look sternly at the genius. "You're lucky to be alive! What were you doing out there?" Commander Shaw asked. Nate's eyes widened, and his face turned bright red. The others looked at him, curious. He'd been out in the area where Roxy and her Robotron had attacked, leaving himself open to attack.
"I was, uh...I was, um…" Nate stammered, glancing at the others and quickly back at the Commander. "I had to run an errand," he said simply, and flinched at how lame it sounded.
"You're too important to our mission," Commander Shaw walked over to him. "I'm putting you on the buddy system. You can't leave HQ without a buddy to protect you," she decided. Lewis winced sympathetically as Nate's jaw dropped.
"What?" he stared at the woman. "A babysitter? For how long?" he demanded, insulted and embarrassed by her decision.
"Indefinitely. And that's an order," Nate couldn't find the words to argue at how firm her words were. "You will train with Lewis in the meantime as well, in the case that you're involved in an attack," she added. Nate looked at the taller man, who gave him a sympathetic smile. "It's for your own safety," Commander Shaw said quietly. "Dismissed," she spoke softly, and walked out without another word.
"Sorry Nate, that sucks," Ryne turned to the young man who still looked furious.
"Don't worry," Lewis clapped him on the shoulder. "We'll get you kicking butt quick enough and get her off your case," he said, and his confidence allowed some of the anger to fade, and he became less tense.
"Ravi, you okay?" Devon noticed that the Blue Ranger was distracted, looking at a worn picture he'd kept in his pocket.
"I was just thinking about Roxy," he admitted, not looking up. "We took this photo last Valentine's Day, at the place where we met," Ravi explained as Zoey took it to look closer. Ravi had already confessed to his team that he and Roxy had been a couple, before he'd ended things right before Roxy had fallen into a coma. Devon and Ryne peered in close at the picture as well, and all of them couldn't help but think about how happy Ravi looked. "I know the real Roxy's asleep in the pod, but today her Avatar saved me from that Robotron," he insisted.
"Yeah, it's true," Devon confirmed when Lewis and Nate looked at the others for confirmation.
"We saw it. Weird, right?" Zoey shrugged, still surprised.
"I don't think we can trust that," Ryne's words made Ravi look around sharply. "She's evil, and loyal to Evox. I wouldn't put it past her to…" she trailed off, and his brow furrowed.
"To what?" he pressed. Ryne gave a quiet sigh, and glared at Lewis when she heard him giggle quietly.
"To save you to make you think that she's actually good," she met his gaze with a surprisingly confident look. However, this just seemed to annoy Ravi more.
"What makes you so sure that she's trying to trick me?" he asked, and missed the blush that started to fill her cheeks.
"Because it wouldn't be the first time a bad guy saved someone to make them think they're good, or to get something out of it," she grumbled. Devon watched Lewis, who was looking more and more entertained by Ryne's words as they went.
"Nate," Ravi didn't seem to notice, turning to the other young man. "Do you think there could still be some good in the Avatars? Could the real Roxy be in there somewhere?" he asked as Nate looked down at the picture in Ravi's hands.
"Ravi I...I don't think…"
"I wouldn't trust her," Devon spared him an explanation. "What Ryne said sounds right. She's probably up to something," he tried to say gently.
"She works for Evox now. She's totally evil," Zoey sounded confident, which only annoyed Ravi more.
"You don't know that," Ravi snapped, and stormed off before they could stop him.
"I thought Ravi broke up with her," Devon turned to the others, a little confused.
"Actually, he only did that because he's a stickler for the rules," Nate explained, still holding the photo in his hand. "Section 42-C," he said, and Devon looked even more confused.
"'Rangers can't date Rangers'. In the handbook," Lewis chimed in. "Weren't you supposed to read that?" he asked, looking amused.
"He definitely still has feelings for her," Ryne murmured, arms folded as she looked concerned for their friend.
"Not to mention a few regrets," Devon added. "So, you guys gonna tell us the story behind what you said?" he asked, turning to Ryne. Her head tilted. "You sounded way too confident about what you said for that to just be a gut feeling," he accused. Ryne grumbled under her breath, and shot Lewis a weak glare when she heard him laugh again.
"It's…" she gave a heavy sigh. "It's what my dad did. And we've seen how Roxy and the other Avatars are like, I don't know why Roxy would choose now to reveal that she's actually still sorta good," Ryne shrugged.
"What did your dad do?" Zoey asked, and saw Ryne's brow furrow. The Pink Ranger didn't like talking about it that much.
"It's in the past," she said shortly, and Zoey glanced at Lewis, who gave a shrug and patted Ryne on the head. Immediately she swatted him away. "Do you have to find it so funny?" Ryne asked him.
"Yes," Lewis said simply. He just smiled back pleasantly when Ryne looked irritated.
"Come on," Devon couldn't help but laugh. "We got some time before we have training. Let's go," he led Ryne and Zoey out, and Lewis turned to Nate.
"Don't worry. Really. I'll show you some ways that'll help convince Commander Shaw that you don't need this 'buddy system'," he said confidently. Nate managed a small smile.
"Thanks Lewis," he nodded, and the young man winked, walking off to make a new training plan.
"I think we should apologise to Ravi," Ryne spoke up as they finished up their training for the day. Devon was already finished changing and was waiting outside the changing rooms when Ryne and Zoey emerged.
"You do?" Devon was a little surprised by her words.
"Well yeah. Clearly we upset him, or he would have shown up to training," she pointed out. The Red Ranger had to agree. Ravi never missed training, yet he hadn't shown up to their last one. Even Lewis was surprised. "Besides, none of us were particularly delicate about it," Ryne added.
"You were the one who said that it was a trick," Zoey reminded, and Ryne shrugged.
"Yeah, and you were the one who said she was 'totally evil'," she pointed out. Zoey went red, still not used to how blunt Ryne could be.
"We were all too harsh. Ravi really likes her. We should have been a little nicer about it," Devon agreed, speaking up when he saw how unhappy Zoey looked. "Come on. Maybe Nate's seen him," he led them back towards the research section of Grid Battleforce's main building.
When they arrived at Nate's lab, they found the young man hard at work. "Hey Nate, have you seen Ravi?" Devon asked, and he looked around at the three.
"Yeah, he was here a little while ago. You just missed him," he nodded, already going back to his work.
"Oh…" Zoey frowned. "He was supposed to meet us for training. He never showed," she explained. Ryne tilted her head, a little surprised that he'd returned to Grid Battleforce, but still hadn't shown up for training.
"He's probably still upset about Roxy," she said, folding her arms.
"Yeah, maybe," Nate stopped working, turning to them when he figured he wasn't going to get anything done while they were there. He rarely did. "He wanted to know if he could reverse Evox's virus and make Roxy good again by using the Neural Aligner," he explained, turning to gesture to the devices that had been stored in his lab after they'd become Rangers. Nate's eyes widened when he saw there was one missing. "Huh, I...put it right here," he stood and walked over to where the Neural Aligners were supposed to be. "Ravi must have taken it!" he realised.
"Roxy's Avatar put him up to this," Zoey growled.
"And something tells me that she didn't do it to help return her to normal," Ryne groaned.
"So where could he have gone?" Devon asked, and Ryne spotted the photo that had been left on Nate's workbench.
"The place where they met sounds like a good bet," she suggested, lifting the photo to show to the other three. "But where is this?" Ryne asked, looking up. She had barely explored Coral Harbour, so still didn't know much about its layout.
"I know where this is," Zoey's eyes lit up. "I've gone through that park tons on my bike. Come on," she rushed out of the lab, with the other two following close behind.
By the time they reached the park and spotted the fountain, Roxy had already launched her true plan.
"Ravi!" Zoey gasped as they spotted him frozen in place by the Neural Aligner over his head.
"She's trying to turn him into an Avatar as well," Ryne realised. Devon's eyes narrowed.
"Not for long," he called on his blaster and took aim, firing a blast that ripped through the metal. Immediately the power in it died and it clattered back to the ground. Roxy gave a yell, diving for cover with the bulldozer Robotron. Ravi remained standing for a moment, before falling to his knees as his energy faded. "We got you buddy," he called as they ran over to help him up.
"Thanks guys," Ravi groaned, dazed. "I'm such a fool. She really played me," the Blue Ranger gave a moan, disgusted with himself.
"Don't blame yourself. She's the one who messed with your emotions," Ryne put a hand on his arm, soothing the frustrated young man.
"The game's not over yet," Roxy growled, furious that they'd ruined her plan. "Destroy them!" she ordered.
"With pleasure!" The Robotron ran at the four, who dodged its attacks and fought back.
"Scrozzle," Roxy contacted the robot as she watched from nearby. "I have a problem," she warned.
"You sure do," she rolled her eyes at the snarky response. She didn't know what she expected.
"Honestly," she looked up when Asher appeared beside her, looking bored. "We can salvage this," she said, pointing to the device nearby. "We get that, maybe Evox doesn't fry you," she suggested.
"I don't need your help," Roxy growled at her.
"Fine then. I'll just take it and get the credit," Asher smirked at her, walking over and lifting the Neural Aligner. Roxy glared, but quickly relented.
"Urgh, fine," she snatched it from Asher.
"No!" Ryne spotted them, but it was too late. Asher shot her a smirk, and the two vanished. "They took the Neural Aligner!" she warned, letting her power charge in her hands before throwing it out. Shoveldrone cursed as it caused his thick metal armour to spark, and he staggered away from them.
"This is all my fault!" Ravi groaned.
"Don't worry Rangers, I'll put you out of your misery!" the Robotron taunted.
"More like the other way around," Devon retorted as they straightened up. "It's Morphin' Time!" he shouted, and they called on their Morphers.
"ACTIVATE BEAST POWER, HA!" they Morphed, ready to fight. "Unleash the Beast!"
"Four against one again, is it? Not for long!" Shoveldrone shouted. "Tronics!" The footsoldiers appeared in a flash of purple. "Attack!" he roared.
"So you clowns are back? Big mistake!" Devon shouted, and the four launched themselves into battle. Zoey and Ravi focused on the Robotron, while Ryne and Devon took on the Tronics.
"I guess they learned the last time that they needed more," Ryne commented as she kept moving to stop herself from being completely surrounded.
"Sure did!" Devon nodded, dodging another attack. He kicked one back, and Ryne caught it, tossing it into the fountain.
'Devon, Ryne, how's it going with those Tronics?' Zoey called, out of breath.
"Under control!" Devon responded as he caught a Tronic by the arm before it could catch him with its weapon.
"Barely," Ryne groaned as she was shoved backwards by the three Tronics that attacked together. The ground then rumbled as a massive version of Shoveldrone appeared, landing near a tower. It smashed through the buildings nearby as it made its way towards the tower. "Okay, enough is enough," Ryne used her powers again, blasting through the Tronics and turning them to dust.
"Nice one!" Devon praised, relieved.
"Devon," Commander Shaw contacted the Red Ranger as they caught their breath. "I sent Cruise to your location," she informed, already preparing for the bigger fight.
"Great. Ryne, you go help Ravi and Zoey with Shoveltron. I got the big guy," Devon said confidently.
"Sounds good to me," Ryne nodded.
"Deploy the Racer Zord!" Devon requested as they split up, and Ryne ran back to where their teammates were still fighting. While Devon's fight turned explosive, seeming to rock the entire city with the attacks, Ryne leapt up and kicked Shoveldrone as he rushed Zoey.
"Whoa!" The Robotron staggered and fell as Ryne landed.
"You guys okay?" she asked, looking from Zoey to Ravi.
"Perfect," Zoey nodded confidently, despite the bruises that were definitely forming across her body. She was definitely going to have to come up with something better than the 'fell off her bike again' excuse that she kept having to tell her mother.
"Let's finish this guy," Ravi called, and the other two nodded.
"Beast Slash!" Zoey lashed out, barely missing Shoveldrone with her sword.
"Beast Blast!" Ravi fired a shot, but it bounced off his armour and made him laugh. He was then forced to leap over a car to avoid the massive shovel arm. "Whoa!" he gasped when the Robotron fired multiple blasts, and he barely managed to get behind a fallen table in time to dodge them. "That didn't work, we need a new plan," he groaned to the other two.
"I have a plan that might just work," Zoey murmured, hiding behind a car. "Stay down, I'm gonna surprise him," she told the other two. As Shoveldrone looked around for the three Rangers, Zoey leapt out of her hiding place, using her Jackrabbit DNA to leap several feet into the air. By the time the monster noticed, it was too late. He whirled around, only for Zoey's sword to slash down his chest, cutting through the metal. "Take that!" she laughed.
"Nice one," Ravi praised as they regrouped.
"Let's finish him!" Zoey cheered. Devon's fight continued at a much larger pace until he caught the Gigadrone off guard, managing to finish him off with a powerful finishing blow.
"Beast-X Blast!" Ravi, Ryne and Zoey fired their own weapons, hitting the same place where Zoey had already caught the Robotron with her sword. Both robots exploded at the same time, and they cheered.
"Virus, eliminated," Devon grinned.
"Trust me, Master," Scrozzle declared, holding the Neural Aligner in his hands as he bowed before the powerful virus. "It will unlock you from your cyber-chains, I promise!" the robot insisted as Evox loomed over him.
"The Rangers' Neural Aligner is the key?" Evox wondered as Asher, Blaze and Roxy listened in.
"Yes," Scrozzle nodded. "It's just what I need for the genius plan I told you about. And once I've built the new 'machine' I've designed…"
"You'll get me out of the Cyber Dimension for good!" Evox growled.
"Don't forget - it's me you'll be thanking, not those fool Avatars!" Scrozzle laughed.
"That little worm," Blaze hissed.
"I knew we shouldn't have given that scrap to him," Asher muttered, furious that Scrozzle had taken the device from them. "What is he planning?" she asked the other two, who looked just as angry.
"Start gathering what you need for your plan. I won't stand for any more delays!" Evox ordered, impatient.
"Of course not," Scrozzle bowed again.
"The first thing I'll do when I return is wipe out Grid Battleforce!" the snake-based Virus declared. The three Avatars exchanged looks, and slipped back into the dark.
Ravi spoke quietly to Roxy's sleeping form, still angry at himself for falling for her Avatar's trick.
"Ravi?" Zoey interrupted gently, and he looked up quickly. His panic faded when he saw they weren't there with the Commander, who was still in the dark about his relationship. And hopefully, his mistake. "You okay?" the Yellow Ranger asked with a sympathetic smile.
"I...I guess so," Ravi nodded as he stood. "Um...I'm sorry you guys. You warned me about Roxy's Avatar, and I should have listened," he sighed.
"We're the ones who should be sorry, Ravi," Ryne shook her head, and he frowned. "We should have been nicer about the whole thing instead of just refusing to listen," she told him, and both Zoey and Devon nodded, chiming in their own apologies. "Besides, if I thought there was a way to help save Asher as soon as I could…" Ryne looked over at the pod where her sleeping cousin lay.
"Yeah. We know how much you miss her," Devon nodded.
"We'll bring the real Roxy back. We'll bring them all back," Zoey put a hand on Ryne's shoulder. "I promise," she said softly. "But there's only one way," she reminded them.
"By working together to destroy their evil Avatars," Devon said, and Ravi managed a smile.
"Thanks. That means a lot," he told them honestly. He looked back at the young woman. "I miss Roxy. But I'd be a lot lonelier without you three," he said, laughing a little as they smiled back.
"I don't know how long you're gonna feel that way," Ryne's smile turned mischievous, and Ravi looked curious. "Lewis said that as punishment for missing training, you've to do extra sessions," she pointed out, and the others started to laugh as Ravi groaned.
"Great," he grumbled.
"Come on. We're a team. We'll do this together," Devon laughed, and the four left to go and meet their instructor.
"Who knew Lewis could be so harsh?" Zoey wondered.
"Half the time I think he does it because he finds it funny," Ryne said honestly. The other three nodded. While they didn't know him as well, they could all tell it was something that Lewis would do just to make himself laugh.
"Zoey!" the blonde looked around when a young woman she'd worked with in laundry called her name. "These arrived for you," she held up a bunch of beautiful yellow flowers.
"Thanks," Zoey was surprised, but took them from her.
"Lucky," the other girl winked and walked away as Zoey checked the card in the bouquet.
"'To Zoey, from your secret Valentine'. Who sent these?" she wondered, looking at the other three.
"No idea," Ravi shrugged.
"I suppose that's why they're a secret Valentine," Ryne giggled, admiring the beautiful flowers as Zoey sniffed them, smiling at the scent. A shiver ran down Ryne's spine, and she looked around, just in time for a figure to duck out of view. She tilted her head.
"Ah, flowers," she looked around again as Commander Shaw approached, smiling faintly at the sight. "That reminds me, your admirers sent a truckload of Valentine's gifts," Commander Shaw told them.
"Admirers?" Ryne repeated, head tilting again.
"You'll find that mysterious superheroes tend to gain some admiration from the public, even if they don't know their real identities," Commander Shaw told her, a little entertained. "Ben and Betty were in charge of unloading them. They're in the hanger," she explained, and continued in the direction she'd been going as the Rangers made their way towards the hanger.
"Uh uh," they stopped when they found Lewis standing in front of the hanger, arms folded. "You get gifts after training until you drop," he smiled sweetly at the four, who groaned.
"I told you," Ryne grumbled, and Lewis smirked.
"Come on now," he gestured for them to turn around, and he led them away from the hanger, laughing to himself as the four Rangers wondered if Commander Shaw had hired him knowing exactly how strict he was.
I can't help but adore Lewis. He's just too fun!
Hope you liked it!
