Last time: The Trio, Kait and J'onz investigated Selina's bar and found some clues.

Now: They try and track the camera signal.

Chapter 6- Our First Break

After a very annoying afternoon of locking up the various bits of physical evidence from the cameras and pouring over yet more reports looking for patterns, Kait strolled along the corridors of the embassy. She took a sip of her caf and knocked on the door to the workroom where Oppie, Sasha and Viran were supposed to be, not quite sure if they would be this late in the day.

Sasha opened the door, looking a little worn out. Probably from going through all of the research that was still piled up on the table. "Oh hey."

"Hey, I thought I'd check in on you guys?" Kait said.

"Oh yeah, Viran is still setting up the transmitter and everything," Sasha said, gesturing to him in the room.

"I'm almost done," He called back to her from where he was lying on the ground trying to connect wiring.

"And we're still going through all of that," Sasha said, catching her up.

"Find anything interesting?" Kait asked.

"Nothing we don't already know," Sasha groaned. "But I have been compiling all of the known cartel locations onto a map." She looked at Kait. "Do you wanna come in?"

"Sure." She said, stepping into the somewhat darkened room. "Is there anything interesting on the map?" Kait asked.

"Right now, it's just a way of laying out a visual aid of all of their known locations. Whether still in use or abandoned long ago," Sasha explained as she pointed out the holographic map of the area. "We thought that once we finished with this we could go through this and cross off the ones we know for sure that the cartel isn't using anymore. Like the bar." She gestured to the only red x on the map.

"It's very random." Kait observed, looking at the spread of markers.

"Yeah, yeah it is," Sasha said with a nod.

"And got it," Viran said as he came out from under the table. It had taken the last few hours to set up the datapad and transmitter they had grabbed from the abandoned office with a high end receiver so when they called Tac, he could see what they saw and have full access. However, trying to figure out why it wouldn't turn on was their current dilemma. But now all the wiring should be right. He flicked a switch and a sound emitted from the datapad signalling that it turned on. "Sweet! It works!"

"Should we call Tac or QT then?" Oppie asked, sliding out from under the table. "Oh, hi." He said, noticing Kait in the room.

"Hey guys." Kait said in response.

"Oh hey," Viran said, quickly glancing at her then back to the datapad. "Yeah, I'm gonna place a call to them now." Pressing a couple buttons, he activated the connected comline and placed a call out to their families astromechs.

After a few moments, an indignant series of binary arguments came over the line. Tac was mad QT had picked up the line.

"Guys," Viran called back over the commline. "Knock off the arguing for a minute. We need your help with something."

Sasha shook her head at the droids and returned her attention to the map.

Tac and QT argued for a few seconds more before QT cut through and beeped at Viran.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, Viran let out a quiet sigh. "Thanks. Okay, so here's the deal. I'm patching you guys through to a datapad that was used by the cartel. The issue is we need some help hacking into it. Can you guys do that?" He asked, hoping for a simple yes from them.

There was a torrent of beeps from both of them that amounted to a very indignant yes.

"Great thanks," Viran said. "I'm going to start the connection. Let me know once you get it." He looked at the others and mouthed 'droids' with an annoyed eye roll before he started connecting the datapad to them.

After three seconds Tac beeped a triumphant finish, and QT sent the binary equivalent accusing him of cheating in their race. Viran stared at the commline with wide eyes.

"Do I want to know what she just said?" Sasha asked, looking up from the map with a similar expression as she picked up a few words QT uttered.

"No, no you don't," Viran said with a quick shake of his head.

Tac just responded to her with a raspberry and then beeped a question asking what they needed to know.

"Alright, we are trying to figure out any useful information that is on this," Viran explained. "More importantly like where it was transmitting to. Like a hidden base or warehouse or something like that. We're trying to get an idea of where the cartel is located. Can you manage that?"

Tac sent back something that amounted to auditory finger guns as he started working. There was silence for a full fifteen seconds, before QT whistled back. And Tac was silent, then sent a storm of whistles at her.

Viran rubbed his face with his hand. Sasha chuckled at that. Oppie rolled his eyes, and Kait just looked between the three of them.

"Guys. It doesn't need to be a contest all the time," Viran said, trying to get the constant beeping to stop.

Both of them went silent for a second, and for the first time ever agreed on something, saying the same thing at exactly the same time with the same exact beeps. Yes it does.

"Excellent," Viran said, throwing his hands up. "Now where was that location again? And only one of you answer, please."

There was a bit of arguing on the other end, and then Tac sulked silently while QT relayed the coordinates. Viran wrote down the coordinates as a smile came to his face.

"If you guys find anything else, please relay it to us," Viran said, grateful. "Thanks, you two. Tell Kyr, Cien and the others hi."

They signed off and were arguing before the commline cut out. Viran sighed as he hunched over the commline.

"So what are the coordinates?" Sasha asked. Viran handed her the note. Looking over the coordinates, Sasha then looked at the map and moved the hologram around until she found the location. "There." She pointed to a building at the edge of town.

"I don't think that matches up with a known site." Kait observed.

"That might be a good thing, means it won't be a dead-end." Oppie thought out loud.

"Agreed. We need to check this place out," Sasha said, staring at the map and double checking it with the coordinates. "We may have just found a lead." She added with a smile.

"What, like now?" Viran asked as he looked at her. "It'll be past sundown by the time we get there."

"No, we should relay this to Colonel Ceros," Sasha said. "We'll check in with him first thing in the morning. I think we should get some rest."

"I can set up a meeting for you guys." Kait said with a nod. "Really good work." She added.

"Thanks," Viran said, smirking. Sasha nodded her thanks as well.

Oppie rubbed his eyes, "it's been a long day, should we head across the street for dinner?"

"Sounds good to me," Viran said, stretching.

"Yeah. Here let me clean up real quick then we can go," Sasha said as she shut down the holographic map and cleaned up the scattered datapads a little bit. Once she was done, she looked to the others. "Shall we?"

"Yep." Oppie said, holding the door open for everyone to leave the room.

Viran and Sasha headed out of the room, heading towards the lobby. Kait followed the trio out, but as they turned to head towards the doors she continued on to the quarters. Oppie stopped and looked back. "Were you going to join us, Kait?" He asked with a slightly furrowed brow.

She looked between them. "Oh, I didn't want to intrude." She said.

"You're not intruding, it would be nice if you joined us." He replied.

"Yeah come on," Viran encouraged.

Sasha offered her a smile and a head nod towards the door as if to tag along.

Kait looked between them for another second, "alright, sure." She said, walking back to join them.
