For the next two hours, the four teens practiced the choreography before Ray called it a night. As Ray was in the hallway, she got a call from her lawyer confirming that with the report that the police had filed of the most recent incident, a restraining order had been filed against Finn. He also stated that a copy of the police report as well as the restraining order had been forwarded to the lawyer that was handling Quinn's custody case. Ever since the police report had been filed earlier that evening, Ray's lawyer had been pushing for charges to be laid against Finn. After listening to her lawyer's argument Ray finally agreed that it was the best course of action. Now that Ray had consented, her layer was going to contact the D.A and push to have those charges brought against the lumbering idiot before Russell Fabray had a chance to interfere. Finally hanging up 45 minutes later, Ray made herself a drink, mixing whiskey and some of the blood she kept stored in her room and sat down on one of her leather couches, closing her eyes and relaxed for a few minutes before her phone rang once again. While Ray had been on the phone Quinn had put Beth to bed and had been watching her sleep for almost an hour. As she watched her daughter sleep, Quinn's mind had been going nonstop. She had an unconfirmed answer that ray was not human and as much as that tiny voice shouted at her that she should be afraid and needed to get her and her daughter out of that house and far away from the Quarterback, the Head Cheerio wasn't the slightest bit afraid of Ray and it confused her. She also wanted to know why she felt such a pull to the Quarterback. Changing into her sleep wear for the night, an old pair of gym shorts and a tank top, Quinn made her way to Ray's room to get her answers with a quick pit stop asking Brittany and Santana to keep an eye on Beth while she was talking with Ray. Quinn paused once she reached the bottom of the stairs, taking a minute to steady her nerves and takes a deep breath before letting it out slowly and continued on up the stairs and finally into Ray's room. Quinn took a moment to observe Ray as the quarterback was sitting on her couch eyes closed, head back and her drink resting against her forehead as she talked on the phone.

"No Daddy, you and Dad don't need to come home. Our lawyer is acting as the 'guardian' while you two are away, he's doing exactly what we pay him the obscene amount of money to do. He's actually doing exactly what you two would do and demanding that the that lumbering oaf be charged." Ray was quiet for a few minutes as she listened to what was being said, frowning at what she heard. Ray looked over Quinn and motioned for her to help herself to a drink as she smiled apologetically for still being on the phone.

"No, Noah failed to mention that little tidbit to me. It does explain why the solution you and dad created had to be used. And let me tell you, that is something that I don't particularly wish to experience again. Listen Daddy, I have to go, It's been a long day and I am exhausted mentally as well as physically. Give Dad my love and a hug. Love you Daddy, bye."

Ray let out a sigh once she ended the call. Draining the contents of her glass, Ray got up and poured herself some more whiskey and returned to her previous spot on the couch that was directly across from Quinn.

"Sorry about that. Daddy was in a bit of a tizzy. However, I imagine that you are here to have answers to the many questions I'm sure that you have."

Quinn nodded in response, took a deep breath and once again let it out slowly as she gathered her thoughts. Ray waited patiently as Quinn centred herself.

"You and Puck, you're not human." Quinn finally blurted out after a few moments of silence between them.

"No we are not." Ray confirmed quietly.

"So my fathers' drunken rambling were more than just rambling, Vampires actually exist."

"Yes Quinn. Vampires do exist." Ray said softly as to not spook the cheerleader.

"The supernatural is real then. Vampires obviously. Witches and werewolves too?"

"And Fairies." Ray added with slight amusement.

Quinn stared at Ray for a minute not sure if the Quarterback was teasing her before asking "Seriously?"

"Mmhmm and you happen to be friends with one." Ray replied with amusement still colouring her voice.

Quinn sat stunned for a few minutes as she processed the last five minutes. Ray finished her whiskey and once again poured herself another cocktail.

"Well that explains a lot." Quinn softly muttered to herself causing Ray to chuckle lightly.

"Why do I feel such a pull towards you?" Quinn blurted out once Ray had once again gotten comfortable on the couch.

"What kind of pull Quinn?"

"I've always felt drawn to you." Quinn began. "Before you left I always felt this need to seek you out, to be in your presence even though I was completely awful to you. When you left, I felt this ache in my chest. It started off as a dull ache and would intensify anytime I thought about you or anyone from Glee club mentioned your name. Initially I thought that it was just due to the stress of being pregnant and then a new mom and dealing with Finn and coming to terms that my parents had kicked me out and disowned me. They actually had me emancipated before Beth was born. Anyway, when you came back, I noticed that the ache was gone and the pull was back, well not right away but when I saw you on the football field is when I noticed. When I found out that you and Brit were dating, even though I was with Finn, it felt like my heart was breaking. It was why I asked if you were in love with Brittany. When you said that you weren't, I felt so elated." Quinn paused long enough to take a drink before continuing once again, "Then watching you with Beth and how she reacts to you...My god Ray its enough to make any woman fall in love with you." Quinn smiled as she noticed the light blush creep up the Quarterbacks neck. "Knowing that you and Puck are vampires, I know that I should be afraid, terrified even, but I can't find it in me to be so. All I know is that when I am with you, around you, the pull I feel gets stronger and stronger. That is what I want to know, I want to know why I feel this pull." Quinn finished with almost a pleading tone.

Ray sighed softly before answering.

"It's called a mating bond Quinn. The pull you feel, It's what happens when two soul mates meet in the supernatural world. You Quinn are my soulmate. As your soulmate I cannot do anything to cause you harm. You hurt I hurt sort of deal."

"Soul mates? I'm your soulmate?"

Ray nodded.

"And that's the reason why I feel this pull, this need to at the very least be around you?"

"Yes Quinn. I feel the pull as well, much more intensely actually. It hurt so much to be away from you last year, but I had to get my shit together before I snapped and ended up killing Finn. As soon as I had control over my need, my instinct to claim you, Noah and I came back to Lima."

"Is that why you've put Beth and I up and you're so great with her? Because I'm your soulmate?"

"What? No. Quinn, I offered my home to you and your daughter because you needed a safe space for the two of you. But mostly I offered for you to live here to get you out of the toxic environment you would have been in had you continued living with Finn. As for Beth, I adore her. I feel protective of her because Finn reminds me of my father. His pride gets in the way of everything and that would only lead to Beth eventually getting hurt." Ray snarled towards the end.

"Your father?" Quinn asked softly once she noticed Ray had calmed back down.

Sighing, Ray got up and poured another drink, immediately throwing it back in one gulp and poured herself another before once again sitting back down across from Quinn. Once comfortable, Ray told Quinn about her childhood, holding nothing back, and finally how her and Noah came to be vampires. As Ray told Quinn her story, thunder and lightning crashes all around the house. Once Ray was finished, she got up and refilled her drink. Ray noticed that she had drank more whiskey tonight then she had since she and Noah had come back home. Shrugging lightly to herself, Ray poured Quinn a drink as well. Ray heard Beth wake up crying due to the thunder and felt guilty that she wasn't able to control her motions enough that the moment to keep from scaring the tiny tot. Turning around, Ray was enveloped in a tight hug from the head cheerleader.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through all that Ray." Quinn said softly as Ray wound her arms around the blonde, ignoring the dull pain from her injury as she returned the embrace. Ray could smell the salt from Quinn's tears.

"Oh Quinn, don't cry for me Darlin. In the end it made me a stronger person and it brought me to you and Beth. Now I can hear Brittany and Santana coming up the stairs with the little one, so dry your tears. Don't want Beth to see you like this." Ray kissed the top of Quinn's head before letting go of the blonde, immediately feeling the loss and let the blonde step back. Quinn gave a watery laugh before quickly disappearing into the bathroom to wash her face. Turning towards the stairs, Ray watches as first Brittany and a crying Beth come into view, followed by Santana. Ray grabbed Beth's bear from the playpen and carried it over to the little girl. Handing the bear to Brittany, Ray then quickly made her way to her dresser, grabbed an old shirt to sleep in before ducking into the bathroom. Quinn was just drying her face as Ray walked in Shrugging out of the button up. Tossing the shirt into the hamper, Ray then attempted to remove her bra, before hissing softly in pain.

"Here let me help you Ray."

Ray nodded at Quinn's words and held still as the cheerleader made quick work of the clasps on the back of the bra and helped Ray pull the t-shirt over head.

"Thank you Quinn." Ray's voice was soft but genuinely grateful for the help.

"Anytime Ray. I'll see you out there." Quinn replied, leaving Ray alone in the bathroom.

Letting out a breath, Ray slowly made her way over to her toilet and relieved herself. Flushing, Ray stepped around the small corner and wasn't the least bit surprised to see Brittany sitting on the counter holding a small jar of ointment.

"Hurry up and wash your hands Ray-Bear. I need to slather this balm on you and Beth is being fussy. She stopped crying once she was in Quinn's arms but the poor lil thing is still letting out a few whimpers along with your name." Nodding Ray did as she was told and quickly washed her hands before lifting up one side of her shirt so the bubbly fey could apply her medicines. Brittany slathered on a generous amount and said a quick spell to take away the pain, or so Ray assumed. Once finished, Brittany smiled and kissed the vampire's cheek before bouncing out of the bathroom. Ray chuckled softly as she let the shirt fall back into place before following the fey.

Coming out of the bathroom, Ray wasn't surprised to see Noah in her room as well. After a quick glance around her room, Ray noticed everyone was in their sleepwear and had seen a stack of pillows and blankets discreetly piled in the corner. Apparently everyone was camping in her room for the night. Noah was currently converting her two custom made couches into the giant bed they can become. Santana was talking quietly with Quinn as Beth fussed. Ray walked over to the two captains and scooped the tiny tot up into her arms and began her low purr to soothe the tiny blonde. Walking back over to the bar, Ray downed her drink and grabbed a bottle of water and a bottle of Gatorade, Setting both bottles down on her night table, Ray carefully situated herself on the bed, with Beth still in her arms. Soon enough Ray was laying on her non injured side with Beth tucked into her chest and the teddy bear tucked in behind Beth. Beth was asleep instantly, sucking her thumb as Ray"s arms formed a protective circle around the toddler. Ray closed her eyes listening to the soft murmurs of everyone's voices and the steady breathing of Beth before she herself fell asleep.

"That was more than just a pain relieving spell wasn't it Britt?" Puck whispered to the bubbly blonde as he took in the scene on his sisters bed now that he had finished converting the two couches into a giant bed. When Ray had renovated the space she had her two leather couches custom made to be able to convert into a bed, mostly due to the fact that most nights Puck would end up falling asleep in her room and she felt bad that he was cramped on the previous couch that was in her room.

The bubbly blonde smirked at her friend before answering. "I may have swapped the spells. In the salve was the healing spell but the incantation I said in the bathroom was to induce a restful sleep. Ray needs to sleep long enough that her emotions will calm down."

Puck nodded his agreement as he watched his sister sleep before looking over to where Quinn was sitting with Santana. The head cheerleader was quietly talking with her second when Beth made a whimper of distress in her sleep. As Quinn was went to get up, the four occupants watched as Ray brought her hand up to gently rub the tiny blonde's back until Beth settled once again. Quinn was shocked by Ray's actions, not so much that they happened, but by the fact that Ray didn't even wake at all, as if it was an instinctual response to Beth's minor distress.

Brittany smiled and quickly took a couple of pictures of Ray and Beth, and sent them to Quinn. While the Unholy Trinity was cooing, even though Santana would never admit to doing so, Puck put on the Disney flick that seemed to have taken permanent residence in Ray's DVD player, then proceeded to get comfy on the farthest side of the converted bed and with in minutes he was sound asleep, leaving the Unholy Trinity to fend for themselves.

"Quinn, come sit by me. I promised Ray that I would take care of your bruises." Brittany patted the spot beside her and waited until Quinn sat down. Britt grabbed the salve she used on Ray earlier and gently applied the ointment to the bruises that Finn and left on the head cheerleader's porcelain skin. "So did Ray explain?" The fey asked as she worked the ointment into the skin broaching the subject of Ray herself.

Quinn looked up at Britt and nodded. Santana had been quietly watching Quinn as her friend had been staring at the bed, staring at Ray, watching as the Quarterback protected Beth even in her sleep. Santana thought back to all the times she had 'caught' Quinn watching Ray and it dawned on her, Quinn looked at Ray the same way she herself looked at Brittany.

"You're in love with Ray." Santana stated quietly.

Quinn froze at Santana's words. "Was she in love with Ray?" she asked herself.

"No San I'm not. However," continued quickly before the latina could interrupt. "I am falling. The more time I spend with Ray getting to know the real her, and watching her with Beth, I'm falling fast and hard."

"So what are you going to do?"

"I don't know San. I really don't know. What I do know is that I'm tired and I am going to curl up on the other side of my daughter and get some sleep."

Brittany and Santana watched as Quinn grabbed the blanket and covered up both Ray and Beth before she herself got situated under the blanket.

"We need to help them San." Brittany stated quietly.

"We will Britt-Britt. We will. But for now, lets go join Puckerman who's on that oversized makeshift bed and watch what's left of finding Nemo and get some sleep."

As the two cheerleaders curled up together, Santana thought back to their earlier conversation, While Quinn and Ray had been busy with the police. Brittany had come clean to the latina about her relationship with Quarterback. Brittany had also advised how she had been friends with Ray since freshman year when the twins had moved to Lima the summer before, but Ray had told her to keep their friendship a secret, to protect Brittany once Ray had been dubbed the school loser. Every time Santana had hurt the bubbly blonde, it was Ray that Britt had turned to. Santana felt incredibly guilty and shame for how she had treated the dancer. She was also surprised and a little shocked that Ray had never once told Brittany to give up on Santana. Ray had simply told her friend to be patient with the Latina and if course to protect herself as she waited for Santana to accept herself. Santana realised that she owed the Quarterback another apology. In the short amount of time that Ray and Britt had been fake dating, she had assumed that Ray had been bad mouthing her, especially after all the shit that Santana had put Ray through. As these thoughts circled her mind, Santana eventually fell asleep.
