AN: It's a small chapter and it has sat pending for awhile now as I have been unhappy with it probably because it's mostly filler as it transitions the story some.

Again to those of you that continue to stick with this story and my other ones thank you. To those of you with your reviews (that aren't rude) again thank you. I adore you all.

Again I own nothing except the plot and all spelling/grammatical errors. That shit is all mine.

Ray flicked her gaze back and forth between Noah and the woman her brother had called mom. The woman was a brunette that Ray estimated to be only a few inches taller than her former self, that was sitting in one of Coach Sylvester's chairs. Neither sibling had seen the woman in over 400 years but it was a face that they would never forget either and right now it was a face that had eyes filled with tears.

"How?" Ray demanded in a hoarse voice from holding back emotion. "We were told by everyone in that damn village as well as by that bastard himself that he had killed our mother and set the house on fire."

"Magic." Was the watery reply Ray got before the woman continued at the annoyed scoff Ray let out. "Seriously, Magic. The old Indian Shaman that had helped me out with knowing which plants and what not to use to help you with your injuries and what to use to cause that monster of a man to fall asleep, well he is more than what he seems. He had a castor place a protection spell on me. He and his warriors had been watching our house ever since the night I had you guys leave for your own safety. The spell prevented me from actually dying. That vile bastard had actually buried me alive. Thanks to the spell a pocket of air was left around my body so I was able to breathe while I was unconscious. Once the fire had cooled, the Shaman and his men dug me out of the ground and whisked me away. He took me to the Faerie mound."

"Why would he do that better yet how would he even know where to find it?" Ray asked, confused as she tried to put the pieces together that were right in front of her but not fitting quite right.

"Because he was the exiled family member I had told you about all those years ago. He still had connections in the Faerie Mound and he sent word that I had been injured and needed healers. All I know is I woke up a week later in a place that really seemed to be from another dimension all together and I immediately realized where I was. It just felt like home. The Faerie mound called forth the majicks that had lain dormant within me. I was healed from the vicious beating that man gave me and found that with the majicks having been activated that I was more or less immortal. It was soon discovered that I had some wild magic powers and I spent the next, well what I thought was only a few years mastering them, come to find out that time passes differently inside the land of Faerie. Inside only a few years had passed. Outside the mounds, almost fifty had passed. I tried to track the two of you down for the next ten years or so but I had given up hope that you both were still alive given that back then most people didn't often live past the age of 50.

"So after I had given up hope, and thinking that you had both passed on, I returned to the mounds only coming out every few years to check out for myself how the world was evolving. As the world progressed I began to travel and explore. I travelled all over really returning back to the mounds when I felt the need to return to the only home I had left. I just recently returned home in the last month when I was contacted by Sue, and now here I am."

Ray leaned against the wall digesting everything that was said as Noah wrapped his arms around the woman lifting her out of the chair hugging her tight. He had always been a mama's boy.

"If you are in fact Shelby, our mother, tell me what my mother said to me when she was cleaning and redressing my wounds after that bastard threw me into the manure pile." Ray demanded once Noah had set the woman back on her feet.

The shorter brunette walked over and cupped the vampire's cheek with a small bittersweet smile and answered the demand.

"Baby, I don't care that you're not exactly like Noah or exactly like me. You are my child, my flesh and blood and I love you. We will get through this."

Tears had started streaming down Ray's face before she dropped to her knees wrapping her arms around the woman's waist with a broken sobbed out 'mama' leaving her lips as she cried into her mother's torso. Shelby wrapped her arms around Ray's shoulders and carded her fingers through her daughter's short hair as she cried silent tears. She looked up as her son wrapped his arms around both of them.

"Where are you staying? I mean do you even have a place to stay?" Ray asked once she had calmed down.

"I came straight from the mounds. I haven't had a chance to purchase a house or anything like that. Sue said that I could stay with her if needed."

"Ray…" Sue trailed off as the shadows whispered intently to the dark Fey. "There is a wolf in the building. I don't know how it snuck past your fathers or is cloaking it's scent but its heading towards the choir room."

Ray snarled before vanishing out of the room with her brother hot on her heels. The two blurred down the hallways of the highschool just as a scream was heard from the choir room. The wolf looked down the hallway at the sound of Ray and Noah's foot falls and took a couple of jerky steps away from the choir room and had turned to leave when Ray growled out a low forceful command of 'Stop.' The wolf froze unable to move and snarled at the vampire as Ray approached. As Ray got closer she forced her will on to the wolf, forcing it to submit to her. Once she had achieved her goal Ray grabbed it by the scruff and commanded it to go to sleep. The Berry men had arrived moments prior and once the wolf was asleep picked the animal up and blurred away with it. Ray already knew that they would take the wolf to the cells that were in the cellar of the house. Her head snapped up as she heard Beth's cries and swallowed back her vampire visage before rounding the corner and rushing into the room behind her brother. Ray ran up the risers at a human speed and held onto both Beth and Quinn as both mother and daughter trembled from fear.

It took another couple of hours before the club was allowed to leave as animal control had been called by someone who had allegedly seen a wolf walking around on the school grounds and it had entered into the school through an open door. Ray had quirked an eyebrow at the cheerleading coach who had just shrugged at the look the vampire gave her. Ray had to hold in a chuckle at the fabricated story but as the glee club had verified that they had seen a large wolf outside the doors the officers had to search the school in its entirety before they could let anyone leave.

"I assume you know where we live?" Ray had whispered to the coach as they watched the officers talk to the others.

Sue nodded once as she stewed in her anger that someone had breached the protection wards she herself had placed on the building.

"Once you have figured out how your wards were bypassed, come by the house….both of you...please." Ray whispered out before making her way back over to where Beth was being fussy in Quinn's arms.

Ray easily plucked the blonde tot from her mother's arms and set her down on the ground, holding her tiny hands as she walked around the small floor space available. Ray looked up as the officers began to repeat their questions for a third time as they seemed to think that the club was pulling a prank.

"Excuses me officers? Can we go please? Some of us are on the football team and we still need to go home, eat and come back for a warm up before the game tonight. There are also a couple of Cheerios here as well in case you couldn't tell by the uniforms that need to do the same as they are cheering at the game. And I don't know about y'all, but I wouldn't want to interfere with that given who their coach is." Ray politely inquired as she pointed at Sue standing in the doorway of the choir room with a dark expression.

Ray was amused as she watched the officers gulp at the look before hurriedly concluding their interviews and leaving. Ray and her brother had to bite back their laughter at what they could hear the officers muttering down the hallway about how insane the cheerleading coach was. Sue smirked as she obviously heard what was said before she disappeared back to her office.

"That wasn't the same wolf that I smelled at the daycare." Noah whispered to Ray as she held Beth in her arms softly purring calming the little girl down.

"I figured as much. This is a newbie, and I know who it is." Ray quickly whispered back as she watched Quinn walk back over to her from where she had been talking with Santana and Brittany.

Noah looked at his sister, hiding his shock. "I know who this is, and I already knew that it's not who you originally smelled. There is still an unknown out there." Ray quickly stated at catching her brother's look out of the corner of her eye.

"Are you ladies ready to go?" Ray asked at a regular volume once Quinn was a few feet away from her.

"Yeah. Let's go eat and then get ready for tonight." Quinn replied as both Santana and Brittany nodded.

Quickly enough the Glee club exited the school. Some lost in thought as they looked around in a small amount of cautious fear before getting in their vehicles and leaving.

The twins made the drive back to the manor in a short amount of time thanks to being speed demons. Once back at the house, Ray zipped up to her room before disappearing into the basement with strict instructions to everyone else to stay upstairs.

Ray grabbed the chair that had been placed outside the barred cell and waited for the wolf to stir. Ray quickly placed the jogging pants, boxers and the oversized shirt inside the cell before leaning back once again. Just as Ray had settled in the chair, the wolf woke up with a snarl as it looked around before it's gaze finally settled on the vampire, who looked equal parts tired and bored. The wolf cocked it's head to the side as it studied Ray assessing if the vampire was going to come in the cell and attack, once it had ruled out a pending attack, it sat back on its haunches and waited.

Ray bit back a small smirk as she watched the wolf assess its surroundings and situation before relaxing once it realized that Ray wasn't going to attack.

"Since you are new, I'm going to guess that the change was forced on you earlier today. Judging by your jerky steps outside the choir room, I'm further postulating that you were fighting against the command that had been whispered in your mind after your forced change." Ray had to refrain from rolling her eyes when the wolf looked confused at the word 'postulate'. If she hadn't been certain of who the wolf was, she was now. "Do you know how to shift back?" Ray asked softly and waited. The shake of a furry head and a soft whine confirmed her earlier assumption that they were new. "I can help you with that. I need you to relax and trust me. I don't need to enter the cell to help you so you will be safe. Do you want my help?"

The wolf once again whined and bowed its furry head. Ray smiled softly before telling it to close its eyes. Ray closed her eyes and searched for that psychic connection she had made with the wolf earlier. She helped coax the person forward while teaching them how to coax the animal back into the safety of their person. Ray heard a startled gasp and kept her eyes closed.

"There are a pair of jogging pants, boxers and a shirt for you to wear." Ray calmly stated as she pointed to where she had left the clothes. Once the sound of cloth rustling faded Ray opened her eyes.

"So wanna tell me how after I warned you about the dangers lurking at night that one of my best blockers ended up bitten?" Ray demanded softly as she stared David Karofsky directly in the eye.

AN 2: So, who all paid attention to see that be foreshadowed? (honestly just curious) Till next time my sexy readers.
