Steve was woken up by Lyla the next day. "Daddy, let's go to the pool."

"Hi, daughter. Good morning," Steve said still sleepy.

"Pool," Lyla asked.

Steve got up and went to the balcony. "It's raining, Lyla. We can't go to the pool today."

"Oh..." Lyla was disappointed.

"I'm so sorry, baby."

Lyla went to Catherine and woke her up too. " Cath, it's raining and we can't go to the pool," she climbed into bed and laid her head on Catherine's pillow.

"Oh, really? Too bad, Honey!" Catherine replied as she stroked Lyla's head.

After lunch they returned home and early in the evening Catherine called Steve up to the bedroom. "Aren't you feeling well?" Steve asked because he thought she was apprehensive.

"I'm a little nauseous, but I'm fine. We need to talk about Caroline."

"What did she do? Did she disrespect you?" Steve asked. Steve was afraid that she would leave him because of his children.

"No, on the contrary, she asked me for help and I was happy that she chose me to tell what's going on. She could have asked her grandmother for help, but she chose me."

"And what's going on with her, Catherine? You're making me nervous."

"No, don't be nervous. Promise you won't be nervous and you'll hear me out?" Catherine asked him.

Steve sat on the bed next to her and rubbed one hand on the other. "Okay."

Catherine picked up the phone and showed it to him. Steve took the phone out of her hand. "What's that?" He said angry.

"It's your daughter's first kiss."

Steve closed his eyes to control himself.

"Calm down, that's not the worst of it. The worst of it was that it was filmed and she was being bullied at school because of it. And the worst part, in my mind, is that Don is using it to blackmail her. Read the comments and then see Don's message to her."

"Steve read each of the comments and then read Don's message. "Catherine..." He threw the phone over the bed and passed both hands over the hair.

"Don't argue with her, Steve. Please."

"And what do you suggest I do, Cath?"

"You should have her delete social media, you should change her school and also change her phone number," Catherine replied.

"She's not old enough to date, Catherine."

"I know, and I said that to her, but you must say it again. I only advised, but you are the father and should be firmer about it."

"Okay. Ask her to come here, please."

"Stay calm, huh! You promised me," Catherine told him and went down to call Caroline.

Caroline was watching TV with Lyla.

"Carol, your father is calling you. Listen to what he has to say and don't answer him bad," Catherine said to the girl.

"All right, Catherine."

Caroline went up to Steve and Catherine's room and Catherine stayed in the room with Lyla.

"What are you watching, Honey?" Catherine asked the girl.

"Cartoon, " replied Lyla and snuggled in Catherine as Catherine sat down.

Caroline came into the room and Steve was standing on the balcony waiting for her. She went up to him and hugged him. "Dad, I'm sorry!"

"I didn't like what I saw, Carol."

"I know, Dad. I'm sorry, forgive me."

"I send you to school to study and not to kiss whoever," Steve told her. He was controlling himself as Catherine asked.

Caroline didn't let him go and Steve hugged her too. "You made a mistake, but that doesn't mean they could do what they did to you. You will do exactly as Catherine asked."

"Okay," she replied, and Steve gave her the phone . "Do it now, I want to see it."

"Okay," Caroline unsubscribed from every social network she was a part of in front of her father.

"Great. I'll change your phone number and tomorrow we'll go out and look for a new school," Steve told her.

"Okay, Dad. Thank you."

"And as for Don, don't worry about him. He has no more reason to blackmail you."

"Sometimes I'm afraid of Don, Dad."

"Don't be afraid of him, Carol. He's troubled, I know, but he's not a bad person."

"Okay," Caroline replied.

"You can go now," Steve told her.

Caroline went back to the living room and saw Catherine and Lyla napping on the couch. Steve went downstairs too and saw Caroline look at them.

"I was thinking, Dad... Don and I met Mom, but Lyla doesn't remember her, it's like she never had a mother. I think that's why she likes Catherine so much. Catherine is the closest to a mother that she will have."

"That's not all, Caroline. Catherine treats her very fondly," Steve said.

"Yes, it's true. And Lyla loves to be pampered."

"I'm going to make us a snack, I don't want Catherine going to the kitchen today. Will you help me?"

"Of course I do, Dad."
