086. Choices.

Disclaimer: Don't own it.

Author's note: Sometimes we make choices of perception, conscious or not. Okay, so I'm totally justifying this drabble, because I actually wrote it first and then scrounged for a title. I know I'm not supposed to do that…well, here it is anyway. Set during that episode where Jack yells into the jungle. You know the one.

The island was full of setbacks, which really annoyed Locke. It seemed to contradict his theory that the island had a purpose, that he was meant to be there.

Jack, on the other hand, was used to the idea that nothing went perfectly. Surgery had taught him patience with the unexpected. That wasn't to say that he didn't get frustrated—but he didn't get frustrated with the island.

It was people who had to be blamed, and it was why he was yelling into the jungle, right on the "line," with Kate staring at him like he was a madman.
