Chapter Six – Football Debate
As Djaq guessed there was an issues with her playing football with the boys. "There nothing that say this is for boy's only." pointed out Djaq at once to her form teacher "Anyway, you can't have one opportunity for the boys and not have it for the girls…..that's not equal opportunity is it?"
"What do your parents say about it?" asked the teacher like she thought that they would disapprove of it.
"Oh, they written letters and send it to the head," said Djaq at once. She was lucky to have the parents that she did - that stood up for equal opportunities and standing up for her "Really, this is a lot of fuzz over nothing…" Much and Will could hear everything from where they were sitting finding it hard to hide their laughter. And it wasn't long before Djaq say down with a detention in hand for back chat.
"First week," said Much "Don't know if I am to be impressed or horrified…."
"I'm impressed," said Will at once "That was brilliant….."
"You know you got lucky with just having a detention." Said Much
Djaq smiled a little "I was just specking the truth," she said "Can't get in too much trouble for specking the truth,"
"What would you parent say?" asked Much at once he pointed toward Will "He got grounded for a month for getting into a fight first day back…."
"My parents taught me to speak the truth," said Djaq "And to stand up for myself…..they be slightly upset of course….. But they won't ground me for specking back to a teacher...especially about the issues we were talking about…." the bell rang and automatically everyone got up to leave.
"Well, there going to be a lot more standing up yourself," said Much "In this school, you need all the bottle you have."
"I noticed it can be pretty brutal sometimes," said Djaq
….
Nothing happen until break time. The outlaws had walked to the school canteen to buy a snack. When Gisborne and the Sheriff walked up to them.
"You're a Muslim right?" asked Guy looking at Djaq up and down.
"What that has anything to do with it?" asked Djaq at once
"Well, is there a rule against you playing football?" asked Guy with a cruel smile.
Djaq looked at Guy "So, you a Christian and it doesn't stop you from being a dick head and I believe there are rules against that….." with that the outlaws burst into laughter. Allan actually fell on to the floor because he was laughing so hard.
Guy face had turned red. "You lot have better watch it," he said
Marian come walking up "I hope no one is fighting," she said eyeing Guy and Robin carefully.
Robin step forward "No, no one is fighting," he said looking at guy up and down "I don't want to waste by time with rubbish…."
"Speck for yourself,." Said Guy before walking away.
Marian looked at Robin "You really need to grow up…..I can see it in your face…you want to fight….." Robin open his mouth "I have known you for years, Robin – don't you dare deny you don't enjoy looking for a fight….." Robin close his mouth with that Marian walked away.
"Robin's one weakness," said Much
Robin rolled his eyes "She is one of my oldest friends…..we care about each other that's all….."
"If she told you to jump off a cliff you would do it," said Much at once. Robin rolled his eyes to himself as his friends all laughed at him.
…..
By lunch time the outlaw all sat inside as it was raining and they couldn't go out on the field. Djaq passed around some food her mother had made. Djaq looked a little hunt when Will refused "I got some food allergies," said Will quickly "Its better if I make my own…and stuff like that…."
"That's make sense," said Djaq "So what are you allergic too?"
"Most things…." Said Allan "Just about everything..." that earn Allan an punch on the arm. "What - they is a whole list of things you can not eat..."
Much nodded his head, "There is a list," he said
Will rolled his eyes to himself and looked a little annoyed but Djaq was still waiting for an answer "Peanuts, other kind of nuts, kiwis, celery and mustard seeds... Said Will counting on his fingers. "And I have to limit dairy intake…..but it's the peanuts and other nuts that are the more serious ones..."
"That quite a few," said Djaq surprised passing more food to John. Will just shrugged his shoulders - he was used to it by now.
Allan spoke up again "You know they is only a few places were we can get a takeaway – With his allergies and…." Allan nodded to Much "Mr I want to be a vegan… our choices are limited…. Not that I am complaining…"
"If you are not complaining – shut up…" said John - he turn to Djaq and changing the subject "So, anymore commons about you playing football?"
"No," said Djaq "Funny enough not one else has made a comment….. "
"Talking about football," said Robin. "I been thinking about our football kit. I think out colour needs to be green…" everyone looked at Robin "I mean our kits….for football…..we need a kit….and since we are the outlaw we need green ones… and have our names one…. Can we do that?"
"I think I can put our names on the backs," said Will at once "We got something at home for things like that..."
"I am not sure I am allow to play at the moment," said Djaq
Robin grinned widely "But no one said you're not…."

"You are awesome," said Much "When is the first match?"
"Well the championship starts in November," said Robin "So we got a month to make the kits and train….."
"Of course – start it in the winter," said Allan with a groan "How many teams signed up?"
"Twenty," said Robin "I think this is one of my best ideas ever…"
