Chapter 2:
After a good night's sleep in Gloria's house after I got my Rotom Pokedex (I highly insisted it not to be a phone, since Pokedexes were allowed by Ransei rules for those who travel... for some odd reason...) and my endorsement from Leon, I then woke up the next day to Rotom ringing loudly like an alarm clock, which I asked him to do before I went to bed. I smiled at how Gloria woke up as well and my Pokemon needed to be woken up with a quick shake.
"Hey, guys, time to get up," I said, them wearily opening their eyes afterwards. "Yeah, it's time for us to get going! We're going to start our journey today! We should be excited, not lazing about!" I smirked, the duo immediately perking up at that and smirking happily.
"Awright, an' you be good on yer promise that ye kin be the one to dethrone the champ, cos I'm certainly gon' be given ye a run fer yer money, lass," Gloria smirked at me.
"And I'd be more than happy to be your rival too, Gloria," I smirked at her, using more modern words to make her smirk at me with a glare in her eyes. We then got our stuff together and proceeded out the door to meet up with Hop, who was also super excited.
"Ready, girls? It's time to get going to Wedgehurst! The train leaves in 10 minutes!" Hop said, me smirking at that as we all then booked it to the station and showed our endorsements to the guy at the station, him nodding and giving us passage to use the train. And the good thing about this train was that it was run by electric-type Pokemon, so I could ride it without breaking Ransei traditions!
"So, you're okay with using a train, but not a Rotom phone? How strict are the rules of Ransei anyways?" Hop asked as we got underway.
"Well, we have specific rules to follow for Ransei traditions. Breaking tradition is considered a cardinal sin back home. You'll be revoked of your Warrior status and be declared a serf unless you can give up that way of life for a whole month," I said sincerely.
"So why are you allowed to use a Pokedex, but not a phone... and where do trains fit into the equation?" Hop asked.
"So many questions from such a young kid," I smirked. "Well, the Ransei region has one exception to modern technology, and that would be the Pokedex, since some Ransei warriors have traveled across the world in the past to research Pokemon. Rotom here is both a Pokemon and a Pokedex, which gets into a special rule for electronics. We Ransei people can only use electrical equipment if it happens to run on Pokemon electricity, like this train does," I smiled.
"Well, git used to findin' loopholes in them contracts, cos most stuff in Galar is run by Wishing Pieces, Dynamax Dens, an' Power Spots, all of which are some strange phenomena made by Macro Cosmos," Gloria said, me being intrigued by that.
"Never heard of those things before... well, I know that Wishing Pieces are most likely incomplete Wishing Stars, but what are Dynamax Dens and Power Spots?" I asked in confusion.
"Well, I can explain that, since my bro has his amazing G-Max Charizard!" Hop smiled. "See, the Wild Area outside of Motostoke and Hammerlocke is filled with these special rocks that sometimes ooze with energy. When you see one shooting a red or purple light into the sky, that means that there's a Dynamax Pokemon inside of it. And a Dynamax Pokemon is basically a regular Pokemon that turns ENORMOUS!" Hop smirked, my eyes going big at that as I looked at Primarina and she blushed.
"Enormous?... How enormous are we talking? Like, 20 feet?" I asked.
"No, more like 50 to 70 feet, sometimes even bigger, depending on the original height of the Pokemon!" Hop smirked, my eyes going wider at that.
"So... Dynamax Pokemon become the size of castles! Awesome!" I smirked.
"And even better than that are Gigantamax Pokemon, or G-Max for short. These special Pokemon can actually gain a different appearance whenever they Dynamax as well as a special power depending on which Pokemon it is and what moves they use! For example, my bro's Charizard has a G-Max form that makes it look like it's constantly spewing fire and it has magma coating its scales! And it's G-Max attack can instantly burn any foe hit by it, while also doing major damage!" Hop smirked.
"Wow... and what are Power Spots?" I asked with a smile.
"Power Spots're special areas around the region where Pokemon kin Dynamax with 'elp from their trainers. Simply touch yer Wishin' Star and it'll make yer Pokemon become it's giant form instantly!... Though, gonna be honest, we're use to seein' it happen from our hi-tech Pokeballs, which you refused to accept for the journey," Gloria frowned.
"It's fine. Besides, I don't need any Pokeballs when I can just link with any Pokemon I can see. Though the only downside with Linking is that, unless you have a Perfect link, like me and Primarina, you can't get a Pokemon to be at it's maximum level and strength. Though luckily for me, most Pokemon I link with have a level cap of 70 or above... thanks to this Wishing Star in my bellybutton," I smiled.
"Yeah... how come you didn't take that off durin' yer shower yesterday?" Gloria asked.
"Because it's literally stuck in there. I've tried to take it out a bunch of times, but it just feels like it somehow got fused to my skin inside... but it does make for a good conversation piece and decoration, wouldn't you say?" I smiled at that.
"I guess. I just wish it wasn't completely black in color," Hop smiled... but then we got an announcement from the PA systems.
"Attention all travelers... there is a herd of Wooloo blocking the tracks to Motostoke. We apologize for the inconvenience, but everyone will have to depart at the train station at the southernmost end of the Wild Area. Thank you for riding with us today," the conductor said, me smirking at that opportunity.
"Well, what an unbelievable stroke of luck! Now I can link with some Pokemon in the Wild Area and see if I can get a Dynamax Pokemon to boot! Maybe I can get a Gigantimax, too!" I smiled widely with stars in my eyes.
"Well, good luck in hunting for G-Max Pokemon. Those things are super rare and even then, only a specific few Pokemon are known to go into Gigantamax forms... from what I saw on TV, there are around 400 Pokemon species in the Galar Region alone and only 30 of them can Gigantamax," Hop said as the train finally reached the stop and we then got off.
"Well, all the more region to find one then! I'd be able to get famous! And that's my main goal. Get famous for being the first Ransei-born Warlord to win the Pokemon Championship! And once I do that, I can finally have my region be recognized officially by the Pokemon League!" I smiled widely.
"Sounds like ya've got high hopes! We'd better get quick to catchin' them Pokemon, cos the ceremony at Motostoke happens at 1 PM!" Gloria smiled.
"And what time is it right now, Rotom?" I asked Rotom.
"The time is currently 10:49 AM. You have approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes to make the ceremony," Rotom buzzed.
"See, this is why I like Rotom. They're some of the most helpful Pokemon out there," I smiled.
"Agreed on that much! Now let's shake our bahookies out to the Wild Area and get us some Pokemon!" Gloria smirked, our group then going outside of the station and me already seeing a couple of lights shooting into the sky. One was purple and three of them were red.
"I'm going for those lights! Last one there's a rotten Flapple!" Hop smiled widely, me following suit with Primarina and Delibird following quickly behind me. We then eventually made it to two of the lights, seeing that I was the first to the purple one and I soon saw that it was actually a pretty tough Pokemon inside of it waiting for me. And it was one I'd never seen before. It looked almost like it was a tiny bug that had three faces and it had a red center inside of the three faces... each face was shaped like an octagon and the bottom one had an abdomen at the back of it.
"I believe this Pokemon is a Combee, and lucky you, it's a female! Female Combee are the only ones who can evolve into the regal Vespequin," Rotom said, me smirking at that.
"Well, I'm going for it, then!" I smiled, touching the rock and being surprised as the scenery around me suddenly changed and I saw I was in some very dark-red looking area and Primarina and Delibird had followed me in. And the giant Combee was right in front of us and buzzed happily upon seeing us wishing to challenge him.
"Okay, now I say it's time we got you to Dynamax, Primarina. Delibird, you'll Dynamax for the next Pokemon," I smiled, him smirking at that and nodding as I then touched my Wishing Star and I focused with Primarina, her body actually becoming cloaked in red as she then started to grow... and grow... and GROW! And not only that, but I was shocked by something else. Primarina actually changed form! Now her tail had split into legs and her long hair actually grew even longer, reaching down to act as a dress of sorts! She then let out her cry and I gawked at her.
"Oh my gosh! You just G-Maxed, Primarina! That's awesome! Time to get this Combee on our side!" I smirked as I Primarina I then gave the command. Primarina, use your Dynamax Ice Beam! And Delibird, use Drill Peck afterwards!" I smirked. Primarina then focused and sent giant chunks of ice at the opponent for her Dynamax attack and I saw that Combee looked to be pretty badly hurt from the attack, which Delibird managed to swoop in and get him down to low health, me smirking as I then saw that Combee had an explosion happen to him. "Okay, time to link!" I smirked as I focused my eyes and mind directly at the giant Combee. I found it was actually quite easy to talk it into coming with me and then, when I got it on my team, Combee shrunk down completely to be the size of my head! "Welcome to the team, Combee! Let's have fun together!" I smirked, Combee buzzing happily at me as I then decided to heal it up with some of my Warlord strengths, Combee feeling rejuvenated in no time at all! But other than that.
"Well, Primarina... looks like you're not the only one with a Perfect Link. Combee here also has one with me," I smiled, Combee buzzing happily and Primarina smirking and trilling happily at that. "Let's get going to another Raid Battle! I want to see if this isn't just coincidence with Primarina," I smiled, seeing that two more had popped up since I'd caught Combee. "Time to get some more giant Pokemon on our side!" I smirked.
After doing some more walking, and more fighting, my team had managed to get a couple more Pokemon added to the team in the form of Bounsweet and Ralts... both of them being Perfect Links as well, which started to confuse me. But then I saw something else shocking. Not only did Delibird have a G-Max form (where his baggy tail grew giant with presents flowing out of it) and Combee did too! Combee's was that it basically became a giant wall of different octagons with a gigantic wingspan!
"I guess this Wishing Star is special! Any Pokemon that I have Linked with me, they're able to become Gigantamax! You making sure to document these, Rotom?" I smirked at him, him nodding at that.
"Indeed I am! I've been sending the data back to the Professor for each G-Max Pokemon you've discovered! I believe it may have something to do with you being from another region and you being unable to remove your Wishing Star. It's almost as if you were chosen," Rotom smirked, me blushing at that.
"Well, I wouldn't go that far," I smirked. "Anyways, it's 12 noon now. Let's get going to Motostoke. It's right there, after all," I smiled, Rotom nodding at that as we went forward with our new group of Pokemon and I smiled at the sights. Motostoke was a pretty apt name, because the entire area was run by steam power, a Ransei favorite!
"This is going to be great!... Though, Rotom? I have a small request for you," I smiled.
"Yeah, what is it?" he asked.
"Can you tell Sonia and Professor Magnolia to keep my G-Max skills hush-hush for awhile. At least until I can G-Max in front of a large crowd of people?" I smiled. Rotom then clicked a bit and I heard a ding message soon after.
"I just gave them the message. They should pick it up from one of their Rotom devices," Rotom smirked.
"Good thing you can do that stuff for me, because I'd be in big trouble if I used hi-tech stuff," I smiled as I then went forward down the path and all of our group went of a very cool elevator powered by steam and gears to the upper portion of town where the large stadium was held. "Time to greet the fanbase," I smiled widely.
