"Has everyone gone mad?" Kara's angry voice echoed through the control room of the Tower as she landed in a swirl of wind, shaking her hair out of her face.
Lena startled.
"What?" she blurted out, swivelling around in her chair. "What happened?"
Kara paced the room like a hungry lion and her expression fit right with it.
"Kara", Lena said softly, getting up and approaching her best friend. "Hey", she grabbed Kara by the hand which made her stop and look at Lena.
Kara sighed, shaking her head.
"It's supposed to be the most magical and peaceful time of the year, right? But people are just going nuts about the smallest thing. I mean, I just spent the last two hours breaking up fights in shops and malls or between people squabbling over cabs", she rattled off, gesturing rather forcefully with her one free hand while looking pleadingly at Lena.
"What is it about Christmas that makes people more aggressive than actually more peaceful?" she ranted. "It drives me insane!"
Lena grabbed Kara's other hand too.
"Hey, darling, look at me", she pleaded and Kara complied.
Lena gave a compassionate smile, "I hear you, I know people behave insanely at this time of year and I'm sorry you have had to deal with it alone."
"Lena", Kara whispered, relaxing and smiling in return.
"And", Lena proceeded with that look that told Kara she had a plan, "I won't let you deal with all that stress on your own anymore."
Kara's crinkle appeared, "What are you saying?"
Lena raised her eyebrow and smirked, "Well, I have some powers of my own now and my mother left a spell or two that would seem very useful in calming people down. So, how about we set out together to spread some magic and peace?"
"You mean it?" Kara chuckled, a smile spreading across her face.
"Of course!" Lena smiled. "But", she continued, going to retrieve something from behind a shelf, "Before we leave, I have something for you."
She flashed out a huge box of pot stickers.
Kara let out a shout of laughter, "You're the best! Seriously!" "Where did these come from? They're still warm", she marvelled, devouring the first pot sticker.
"Let's just say I have my sources", Lena smiled cunningly.
"Well, I'm not going to protest", Kara munched, smiling widely and offering the box to Lena who declined.
After about two minutes Kara had finished all the pot stickers, wiping her mouth, "Oh, these were so good! Thanks so much, Lena!"
Lena smiled, throwing away the box with a rather dramatic motion.
"So", she challenged, "You ready to go back out there to spread some magic and peace?"
Kara nodded vigorously, "Absolutely!"
