It wasn't unusual to see young Hyūgas dressed in aprons around the marketplace, all with bags in hand which contained the clan's meal for the following days and supplies to maintain the pristine state of their compound. It also wasn't unusual to see Hyūga men dressed in plain but costly material, Hyūga ladies wearing simple but elegant ornaments in their typical silky hair.

It was clear to all with functioning eyes that the Hyūga clan worked in a caste system of sorts. If anyone noticed a pattern between the station of a Hyūga and the placement of their hitai-ate, no one commented. A tattoo on their foreheads? Well, most shinobi clans do have their eccentricities after all.

When Kō, whose forehead was bare, dropped off and picked up one Hyūga Hinata from the academy by the hand, no one took notice. It was just another villager treating a younger relative the way anyone else would. If Kō was called away for missions the task of delivering the heiress within the safety of Konoha walls was delegated to Neji.

If anyone noticed the oddness of a Hyūga boy, with cloth firmly wrapped around his forehead, always trailing two steps behind the Hyūga girl, they didn't comment. The clan was large, just because the children shared the same eyes it didn't mean that they had to be best friends.
